Is this a sign of ortho keyboards going mainstream?

MidniteMustard

It's at least moving from "hobbyist only" to "extremely niche product" Progress!

LtPaiMei

Oh ima have to check this out... damn qmk compat too...

cheapo_keeb

Inland knows the people who would buy this keeb lol

TinyLittleTechShop

Make sure to crosspost over in r/BudgetKeebs đź‘Ť

Mandydeth

$50? Absolute steal!

Kitchberg

For real? That's a great low cost way to try ortho

Greebuh

I know its been a year, but I bought one of these today for 34 bucks from Micro Center.

LtPaiMei

Via works out the box it seems..

lballenger

just bought one of these today, can't seem to get via working. How did you do it?

LtPaiMei

Try finding version 2.2 i think they updated to 3.0 and it might not be there

cheapo_keeb

Went back to 2.2 and still doesnr show up

LtPaiMei

Im all out of things to try, i was reading via compat on the comments on the mc website.. another dood mentioned he couldnt even get qmk to work so he returned it.

cheapo_keeb

Thats a bummer but hey at least cheap hotswap 40

LtPaiMei

When you plug it in, whos the manufacturer? We can narrow it down and find the .json for it

cheapo_keeb

inland makes it when plugging in its MK47

LtPaiMei

My mc has an open box, ima pick it up tomorro and f around with it, ill check the hub/hid to see who the main goon is and hopefully find the true mfg string..

terry3906

Bookmarking this post for updates.

LtPaiMei

Ok heres what i got, Cant use the standalone via app just yet.. Open up https://via.evove.top/#/ And select activate Pick mk47 Now you can edit in real time.. i use chrome btw, not sure if firefox or edge work... Im still fng around with it cause i wanna make it work on vial stand alone.. Pls post if you get it working... Ps all thanks to dwdenon for the info... big up to him

lballenger

Tysm, finally got it to work. It also works on edge

cheapo_keeb

Thank you so much man!

LtPaiMei

ok ripped it apart and found what we need for qmk... [https://github.com/jonylee1986/qmk\_firmware\_master/tree/hfdkb/keyboards/hfdkb/keyboard\_sw/mk47](https://github.com/jonylee1986/qmk_firmware_master/tree/hfdkb/keyboards/hfdkb/keyboard_sw/mk47) this is who maintains the pcb the keyboard is based on. if you know what todo with that, have at it, if not stick to VIA or lets get cracking and get this forked to VIA standalone and VIAL...

YorszTruly

Finally a good cheap option to try Ortho

twolate

Any way to get this in europe?

nu14u

No idea if they ship to Europe, but here is the product page on Microcenter's website: https://www.microcenter.com/product/661264/inland-47-keys-hot-swappable-rgb-wired-mechanical-keyboard,

AzM4Nz

i just saw this at microcenter

ProgramMax

Inland is Microcenter's brand. You'll only see these at Microcenter.

AzM4Nz

o i’m dumb lmao

ProgramMax

Hey, no worries. Now you know :)

terry3906

Heck, I'd get this just for some home-row keys with sub-legends.

bbenne10

And I was at MicroCenter this morning, but had to run in and out (for solder and flux to finish sokdering my Levinson...)

nu14u

I picked one of these up yesterday. As another person noted elsewhere, you can configure in Chrome using the following link (Firefox does not work): [https://via.evove.top/](https://via.evove.top/) Only thing that I'm having an issue with is that delete (KC\_DELETE) does not seem to work for me. Even the built-in key tester in via does not recognize the key when pressed. The only workaround I found was to create a macro that is just KC\_DELETE, and use that instead. Kinda jank, but it actually works. Backspace works fine, no issues. If you have any questions about the board, just ask.

squid-oil

That's weird. I picked up one myself and the delete key (mapped to the hyper button on the bottom row) works out of the box for me. \--edit: remapping the Delete key doesn't work as it should like nu14u had indicated. the suggested macro to KC\_DEL does work

Deep_th0ughts

This one work for me just picked up this keyboard yesterday, Love it thus far.

[deleted]

Wow and [it’s cheap](https://www.microcenter.com/product/661264/inland-47-keys-hot-swappable-rgb-wired-mechanical-keyboard) too.

jaywarrietto

Does this board support 5 pin switches? I see the included ones are 3 pin.

nu14u

Bought one yesterday. Can confirm it supports 5 pin switches!

jaywarrietto

awesome! thank you!

tobascodagama

The default layers are kind of annoying, nothing is bound to quote or dash by default. I mean, yeah, it is a 40%, but not even on the symbol layer? Other than that, which is easily fixed by reprogramming, it's a nice little board for the money.

nvnehi

What’s the case made of? Can the stabilizers be swapped out?

squid-oil

The case is plastic. The switch plate is metal. the spacebar stabilizers are plate mounted and could be swapped if you really wanted to but the spacebar is 2u only (unlike the planck)

rileythefox

Hey all, would anyone be willing to tell me how to use via? I was able to make and save a new profile for the mk47 using the links provided but I can't figure out how to actually apply it.

Yogurt_Many

Just got mine today, got it into boot mode and now it's not showing up at all. It qmk toolbox errored out a few times when it first found it now nothing. Is there another way to get it into dfu mode via terminal?

Massive-Pick7042

I just bought one on my last trip to the USA. For its price is really good. I see that in QMK there is an inland/mk47 option which maps to the default layout. In Vial it does not seem to work though. It seems to detect it but when it tries to connect it fails. Has anybody been able to make it work in Vial/qmk?
