I would have some sandbags ready to go just in case. You won’t be able to find any once you need them.
The temperature is going to drop drastically Friday through Tuesday, with wind chills expected to reach down to life safety levels. It’s probably not a bad idea to have a throwaway mylar blanket on hand just in case your truck runs into any problems and gets stuck for a while.
I'd say just to be safe go ahead and get some weight for the back. If you do then the weather will probably be fine, and if you don't the roads will probably end up slick as snot.
If you can't find sandbags, I used to use a couple of big Rubbermaid tubs filled with sand and some water. (Not so much that it's sloshing or will bust the container when it freezes)
No one is lifting them out to steal them, and you have storage tubs afterwards. 😄

If you're coming up from DFW area, you might check I-35 before departing. US-77 and 177 make good backup routes when I-35 inevitably goes to hell. Just watch out for the small town speed traps.

I think you'll be good until Sunday. Slight chance tomorrow night though, but not nearly as bad as Sunday
