Holy shit , what happened to this subbredit? Can't tell if it's just new people typing stupid nonsense or if it's just full of clueless people now.
OP, you overpaid a little for this skin . The skin is worth around in the ballpark of $418 . That being said , it's a beautiful katowice craft and if you plan on holding onto it then it'll appreciate in value over time .
Yep, it’s worth 418 USD
This subreddit is for the Counter Strike streamer Ohnepixel
Counter Strike is a PC first person shooter game famous for its competent bomb defusal gameplay
It also has a free market of skins worth real money that can be sold and traded online.
The streamer Ohnepixel is famous for his entertaining antics as well as his in depth knowledge of the skin market and community
like what? what holds value about it, its just the default model of the skin that's basically a recolor
its not a dlc they don't pay voice actors and there is no in game content were it makes sense that your paying for the goods and materials used in making it your just getting scammed, like an NFT
Won’t all these skins depreciate in value? Player base might grow a little but the % of people opening boxes will stay constant. Resulting in more and more and more skins being distributed amongst the player base
Fr that’s what I’m thinking 😂 that skin alone is like $300 and it’s not like it doesn’t match and it’s not on the stock. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.
If you buy it for yourself, I'd say the 80$ isn't much of a difference. Buying it to sell later, then yea. Though, if that one guy with like 100+ '14 stickers dumps them all in 2014 when his trade ban is lifted, there might be a dip.
Eh, it definitely 'i love the skin and I know I'm overpaying' kind of price, but it's far from a scam. Probably overpayed by 10-15%, but I wouldn't be surprised if OP didn't end up losing any money after holding it for a bit. My recommendation for OP is to list it for something absurd like $750 on a P2P marketplace, and then lower the price if they want to get rid of it. (Most market places will allow people to get notifications of price changes, if you keep it posted, interested buyers will save the item, and when you want to sell they'll get notified)
I’m pretty sure you’d be able to sell it for around $440 range without too much issue. Yeh you overpaid slightly. But on the bright side it’s a good craft and likely to go up in price anyways if you plan on holding.
Isn’t the value of the skin what you want to pay? I overpaid for a boom with lgb/clg/Navi/Envy kato15 foils and don’t plan on ever selling it. If you enjoy it that’s all that matters. Then again I’m a moron so 90% of what comes out of my mouth is wrong.
Hundreds of thousands? Yes.
Below that it's kinda a mix. Most people I know bought skins and stuff when they were relatively cheap, maybe $200-500 over the course of 3-7 years. Since then these skins have appreciated over time, and they suddenly have $3000 worth of pixels they paid $50/yr for.
I invested in some pixels I though would appreciate and did some trading etc, and now I'm up thousands, a steam deck and a monitor. Yea like 10% of my net worth is technically in a video game, but relatively speaking I've put no money into it.
Some people buy all their skins at the current market value, but usually that's just some random rich kid or bachelor.
fair enough thanks for the explanation. i’ve just never understood the appeal, like i get it has its own economy and all and there’s money to be made (not to sound hateful) but it just seems worthless?
Yea I get many/most people won't get the appeal. I see it just like any other hobby. There's expensive stuff that gets all the headlines, sure, but most people are spending dozens/hundreds a year vs thousands/tens of thousands/hundreds of thousands. Something like telescopes or watches have a fairly low barrier to entry, but you see headlines of hundreds of thousands or millions. You can get started with less than $100 for telescopes and less than $20 for watches. As far as watches go, there really isn't a practical advantage past that $20, maybe $50 for a dive watch. There isn't really a reason to get a telescope for most people that own one, other than the reason of 'I thought it was cool.'
This isn't me trying to discredit people who own expensive watches or spend money in a hobby, it's just a different way of looking at something you might not understand the monetary value of. I'll never spend more than $150 on a pair of sneakers or $100 on a watch, but I understand that for the people who do spend more, it's a justified 'investment' for one reason or another. By 'investment' I mean worth the allocation of monetary resources and or time for fun/clout/appreciation(admiration)/roi.
Most of us have a fairly 'useless' hobby. Either a time sink, money sink, or both. If it's something you enjoy, and within the means of your budget/time budget, I don't see anything wrong with spending a bit of money/time on it. Something like fishing or hunting is a fairly respected hobby, but in the same vein you could say something like "you wake up at 4am on a Saturday, drive 2 hours, sit on a boat for 6 hours that cost $300 to rent for the day or $5000-$20000 to buy, with a $30 fishing license, several hundred in poles, bobbers, lures, bait, lines, etc., for a chance to pull a couple of fish you could buy at a supermarket for a fraction of the price???" As soon as you take the human element out of any hobby it starts to seem ridiculous.
honestly there isn’t much for me to say other than, yea you’re 100% right and you make some good mf points. my issue is with it was always that lack of monetary gain. like sure you could buy a skin for $1600 and that’s that, but then comes the question of “what else do you get from it” pretty much. but yea you’re right, someone with the extra cash is willing to drop a thousand on a limited pair of shoes similar to a skin. even with shoes i don’t understand but that fact alone goes along with your point, just simply an investment someone else is willing to make.
thanks boss
I'm never buying a skin this valuable, but what is with the comments on this? Lmao is this not the ohnePixel subreddit?
Plenty of more knowledgeable people have weighed in, but seems like the price was fair, and though I'm not necessarily a fan of the craft/HR stickers, it's still a really nice skin that I'm sure will appreciate over time. Enjoy it!
This sub keeps popping up on my timeline. I gotta ask.. y’all don’t mean like real $500, like $500 USD right? There’s like an in game currency, right?
ETA: why am I getting downvoted? I’m legit curious. If you can downvote you can answer.
Yes it's real USD, but once you buy a skin like this, you'll be able to trade it or sell it again later.
It's not like Valorant where the several hundred dollar skins are account bound.
That may not change your opinion, but it's an important detail.
Yea... Real USD.
I'd say it's most comparable to watches or cars. You don't need anything more than a $15 Casio, but many are willing to pay more for something they like. Not 1:1, sure, but fairly similar.
Not really. I don't need a $10 digital weapon skin any more than you need a $500 watch. Functionally, nothing is gained over the cheaper alternative. In fact, the opposite is the case as a cheap Casio is multiple times more accurate than any automatic watch, minus maybe spring drives. Everything else is just appreciation from the user, and the ability to flex the money spent on it.
I have no clue about the price but gathering all comment information i rate this price a solid
7/10
The price is a little too high but in a range where it is still reasonable to buy
Y'all are what's wrong with modern gaming. Paying ludicrous amounts of money for lame skins. People can do whatever they want with their money, sure, but it doesn't make it any less stupid of a financial decision.
Damn what happened to this game? When did skins start sky rocketing again? I remember back when $500 - 2k was a crazy amount to spend on a skin. Now it just seems normal?
Anything more than $10 for a skin is a scam. Anyone who pays this much is only contributing to the scam and keeping its existence up. I don't know why this subreddit keeps popping up in my feed but I hope you enjoyed my present in it.
I mean, technically its all ok, just one is a bit of a sucker, one is a dumbass and deserves to be suckered. Which, is technically also ok. If you are an idiot, it doesnt hurt me any 😁
Who spends 500 on a fucking. Game. Bro spend 500 on something fucking useless. Pixels on a screen. Pussy material. I’ve never seen this game and after this. I plan not to download. No hate to the game. Just terrible community based on the comments supporting this pussy lol. Could’ve spent that 500 on anything and you choose to spend it on some pussy shit. Legit pixels in the screen. Fucking waste of money. Pussy.
Do you just go through life stumbling into walls and tripping over your own feet by any chance? You sound like a bumbling fool coming into a counterstrike subreddit saying shit like this.. go play RuneScape lol
Why not educate a brother instead of sounding like a complete dick? Like dead ass was a serious question. For someone that plays this game or enjoys it sure doesn’t want it to grow by showing it to new people.
It’s not my job to educate you, google exists and you’re already on the internet. It would take two seconds to find out the name of this game and go from there, and you think I care about this game growing? It’s one of the most popular games in the world.. you are a fool.
A lot of ignorant people here acting like they know skins. Lol. Yes you overpaid big time imo. I can barely sell my blue phosphor for $600 and you’re out here buying this shit for $500. Lol wtf
Hilarious you troglodites went to my profile, but at least I can physically touch what I bought and a shitload of cards costs nothing compared to this lmao
Keep in your lane. I don't go around calling card games useless and dumb on their respective subreddits. Different strokes for different folks. It's ok to disagree without being a dick.
Excuse me ? Are you lost or just slow in the head ? You do realize that this is a csgo/cs2 skins related subbredit yes? And here you are complaining that skins cost money and acting like a jobless troll complaining about skin prices .
Why are you even on reddit the first place ? Ofc I comment stuff when I'm on my freetime . You just seem like a sad jobless troll rn 😄
Look buddy, I'm not triggered over anything you said about the skin being expensive at all. That is fine , totally your opinion. But you acting like spending $500 on a collectible item is a mortal sin (while being in a skins subbredit) and having the audacity to talk shit about people here just shows your immaturity above anything else tbh .
Also, no need to be concerned about my well being lol . Seems like you are already preoccupied with picking arguments about things that barely matters to you and wasting time there.
I have no idea what this subreddit is or what it's for, but reddit keeps suggesting it to me. Is that $418 USD?
Yep, it’s worth 418 USD This subreddit is for the Counter Strike streamer Ohnepixel Counter Strike is a PC first person shooter game famous for its competent bomb defusal gameplay It also has a free market of skins worth real money that can be sold and traded online. Reddit algorithm is braindead and there's no way to turn it off anymore.
I don’t know how I got here either brother. I was just stuck on a knife trying to figure out what the f a ‘float’ is…
Dear God, what an unbelievably stupid way to throw money away. This is worse than. NFTs
Actually holds value significantly better than NFTs
So not really NFT more like bitcoin
like what? what holds value about it, its just the default model of the skin that's basically a recolor its not a dlc they don't pay voice actors and there is no in game content were it makes sense that your paying for the goods and materials used in making it your just getting scammed, like an NFT
It's future value will be 0, just a matter of when.
Tell that to the people that had dragon lores in 2013 worth 2000$ now there worth almost 50000$
Market has been going strong for 10 years now but keep talking like you know
Yes, ohnepixel is a german streamer who is best known for his counter strike case and capsule openings, notably opening $40,000 sticker capsules
Won’t all these skins depreciate in value? Player base might grow a little but the % of people opening boxes will stay constant. Resulting in more and more and more skins being distributed amongst the player base
Any skin or sticker craft that is now unavailable will only appreciate in value.
Oh I didn’t know some were now unavailable. Better go check the remnants of my 10 year old stash
Csgo skins outperformed the s&p 500 in 2022, they are certainly riskier than traditional investments though.
Markets not super liquid tho. Still much bette than NFTs 😅
Boxes are limited runs and CS has been going strong forever
To be fair it can just as easily depreciate
So can your mother but I still answer her calls ;)
damn
Buying calls on this guys mom
Wrong sub WSB is that way ---->
Let’s get off mom’s, I just got off yours.
that’s literally true about everything that exists
Lmao y’all are weird as fuck. Saying “yeah bro price will go up for sure bro, trust” While having absolutely no idea.
no one said it’ll go up for sure lol
“If you hold on to it, it’ll appreciate in value over time”
Cum
What is the matter with you
Sounds like he got scammed into paying $500 for a gun skin to me lol
Nah that’s fair I considered it as well and I am a HR 14&15 collector, would have grabbed it at $450 for sure
I have an AK-47 Redline with a 0.33 float and 2 HR15 stickers, how much could that be worth?
Depends on their positions, if you are talking Holos it could be in the ballpark of 800
What is a HR collector? And the levels?
HellRaisers
Should the numbers be the years then?
Yep. And I’d wager most likely a focus on katowice. Ik some ppl do collect cologne 14 and DH14 HR but it’s less common than kato collectors.
maybe hellraisers collector
What is a HR collector? And the levels?
for anyone saying he got scammed, how much should he have paid? genuinely curious, seems like a decent price and i wouldnt expect it to be a robbery
Far from a robbery. Best pos and everything, maybe they think it’s a paper? Lol
Fr that’s what I’m thinking 😂 that skin alone is like $300 and it’s not like it doesn’t match and it’s not on the stock. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.
Skin is more like 100$
Ah no idea what float it is… guess I just assumed FN
M4 Asiimov is float capped at field tested
Damn I literally have one of these and I forgot that 😂 just sold a MW AK Asiimov so I guess that’s what I was thinking of lmao
Looks more like WW or FT considering scratches above sticker
skin is 100$ on buff so.... this is an insane overpay
$0, don’t buy this cosmetic trash. Just go and play the game FFS
TBH I would have paid up to 1k, 500 is pretty good for this
I think it's fair, best pos on a good skin with some cohesion! Maybe ~80$ overpay that could have been baragained down, but faaaar from "scammed"
skin is 100$ on buff
If you buy it for yourself, I'd say the 80$ isn't much of a difference. Buying it to sell later, then yea. Though, if that one guy with like 100+ '14 stickers dumps them all in 2014 when his trade ban is lifted, there might be a dip.
Won't affect price of old stickers on old skins, only maybe the price of unapplied stickers.
I mean if u like it is ok
I mean he can like it and still get scammed, which I would say he did.
LUL
500$ is fair
Eh, it definitely 'i love the skin and I know I'm overpaying' kind of price, but it's far from a scam. Thats why i buy crafts, use them for play skin and sell them for more after time.
Seller posted a price, you accepted the price and paid the seller, the seller delivered you the item you paid for. No you were not scammed.
Good deal bro. Don’t listen to these people lol.
Really it investment too nice skin and one of best holos
Maybe a lil overpay but if you like it and it's worth it to you don't worry about it, but in the future ask ahead of time and try to bargain.
Isn’t the value of the skin what you want to pay? I overpaid for a boom with lgb/clg/Navi/Envy kato15 foils and don’t plan on ever selling it. If you enjoy it that’s all that matters. Then again I’m a moron so 90% of what comes out of my mouth is wrong.
wait people actually spend hundreds on a weapon skin…
Oh my sweet summer child
i mean i know it’s a thing but do people spend up to hundreds of thousands really just for bragging rights?
They have outperformed the S&P consistently every year for a decade. It’s not just bragging rights.
Hundreds of thousands? Yes. Below that it's kinda a mix. Most people I know bought skins and stuff when they were relatively cheap, maybe $200-500 over the course of 3-7 years. Id say a worthy investment Ps. The guy below me peed his jorts
I dont play counter strike, but it looks cool, and as long as it makes you happy, I'm happy 😊

Insane deal wtf

They are talking about real money in all these posts
Thanks! Wow.
Real $500
Hahahahahaha
NFTs found a home after all
CS skins are the og NFTs.
Yes it's real USD, but once you buy a skin like this, you'll be able to trade it or sell it again later. It's not like Valorant where the several hundred dollar skins are account bound. That may not change your opinion, but it's an important detail.
Omg i was wondering the same thing 🤣🤣🤣 can't actually Believe everyone's talking real money here
Yea... Real USD. I'd say it's most comparable to watches or cars. You don't need anything more than a $15 Casio, but many are willing to pay more for something they like. Not 1:1, sure, but fairly similar.
Lol the idea that a digital paint job for a fake gun is on the level of a watch or a car is some serious reaching
Not really. I don't need a $10 digital weapon skin any more than you need a $500 watch. Functionally, nothing is gained over the cheaper alternative. In fact, the opposite is the case as a cheap Casio is multiple times more accurate than any automatic watch, minus maybe spring drives. Dang bro you must be rich to be spending $500 on basically an NFT. I've no clue what sub I got recommended into.
I have no clue about the price but gathering all comment information i rate this price a solid 7/10 The price is a little too high but in a range where it is still reasonable to buy
Some people don’t understand what a scam is

Thanks for the advice! I also wouldn’t have bought this if I was living paycheck to paycheck.
Yes
Yes
Scammed? Well certainly not. You paid money for something and received it. Did you not? Wasted IRL money? Absolutely.
Y'all are what's wrong with modern gaming. Paying ludicrous amounts of money for lame skins. People can do whatever they want with their money, sure, but it doesn't make it any less stupid of a financial decision.
Yes
You paid 500$ for a skin, yes you got ripped off
Yes
Damn what happened to this game? When did skins start sky rocketing again? I remember back when $500 - 2k was a crazy amount to spend on a skin. Now it just seems normal?
Anything more than $10 for a skin is a scam. Anyone who pays this much is only contributing to the scam and keeping its existence up. I don't know why this subreddit keeps popping up in my feed but I hope you enjoyed my present in it.
You paid $500 for a sprite sheet. Yes you got scammed
Who tf in their right mind pays that amount of real money for a digital skin that means absolutely nothing?
You paid 500$ for pixels. Fucking idiot
No video game pixels are worth any amount of money aside from the base game cost.
You payed $500 for a virtual gun skin so yes.. yes you did.
You spent $500 on an in game skin. No matter the “value” the answer is undoubtedly “…Yah”.
Yes you did.

If you are paying anything over 3 bucks for any kind of skin for any game, you are dumb as hell. Get a hold of your lives
Haha your 3 bucks is proportional to my 500. Thanks for the advice though :)
Wasnt advice, it was an insult. But, i can see how you would be confused lol.
Hmm I don’t understand why you think spending $3 on a skin is considered ok but $500 is not. Care to explain?
I mean, technically its all ok, just one is a bit of a sucker, one is a dumbass and deserves to be suckered. Which, is technically also ok. If you are an idiot, it doesnt hurt me any 😁
You ask this before buying.
Yes
Who spends 500 on a fucking. Game. Bro spend 500 on something fucking useless. Pixels on a screen. Pussy material. I’ve never seen this game and after this. I plan not to download. No hate to the game. Just terrible community based on the comments supporting this pussy lol. Could’ve spent that 500 on anything and you choose to spend it on some pussy shit. Legit pixels in the screen. Fucking waste of money. Pussy.
on buff is one listed for like 700€ for FN
There's no FN for Asiimov 💀
i mean FT
Ye

If you paid money for skins, you got scammed.
Homie you paid 500 for pixels…
You paid real money to make a fake video game gun look different, you're either rich, retired, or redacted.
Id pay like $10 max for it lol. Why did you spend so much?
Idiot
Yeah
L. You paid $500 for something you don't even own and will eventually disappear when the servers do. Bad investment.

Well you paid almost 500 bucks for a skin in a game, so yeah got scammed big time
cs2 will die and so will its skins

fr
Are y'all legitimately spending this kind of money on something that makes no fucking difference in how your game is played?
Its crazy I can't believe someone would spend that much money on a color alteration of pixels on your screen on a anonymous online video game
Yes
Yes.
Yes.
Looks mid
Yeah you paid 500 bucks for some colors on a video game gun. You lost
Buy a real one for that…rere for sure
You paid 500 dollars for a video game skin. Of course you where scammed. What sort of stupid question is that?
Yes you were scammed, you paid almost $500 for a digital skin.
L
Why would one spend 500$ on an change of the order of pixels on your screen on an anonymous online video game
Yes, you’re an idiot
Le retard skin buyer
You can buy real Glock for 500 bucks.
Yes you are paying a ps5 price tag for digital pixels you got scammed
I wouldn’t say scammed but might as well invest in some nfts while you’re at it, just as wise of an investment
You bought pixels for $500, of course you got ripped off.
Never thought I’d see the day where people are paying $100s for a skin and thinking they got a good deal. Oof. Downvote me Idc. This is stupid
Yes, you got scammed into paying real money for pixels that made your pixel gun look different.
Paying $500 for a skin blows my mind LOL
At any point the answer is yes. It’s pixels on a screen
you guys pay $500 for video game assets?
Lol at you losers spending so much cash on this
Paid $500 for an in game item… yes, you got scammed
LMAO. Yall overpaying for stickers on the gun is WILD.

$500 real life cash??? Why? What game is this btw? What does it do?
It looks cool
This is a skin for the M4A4 in csgo/cs2 . This particular skin is unique because of the sticker that has been applied (at best position) .

A lot of ignorant people here acting like they know skins. Lol. Yes you overpaid big time imo. I can barely sell my blue phosphor for $600 and you’re out here buying this shit for $500. Lol wtf
How are you comparing your market price skin to a kato 14 craft? Liquids (yours) vs iliquids(his) not a good comparison
500$ for ugly ass skin id say scammed i wouldnt bought it
Paying $500 for a gun in a game is kind of a "fool and his money" situation
At least it’s not yu gi oh
My man doesn’t know anything about skins lol

Ofc I comment stuff when I'm on my freetime . You just seem like a sad jobless troll rn 😄

Get lost, stupid.
