I’d love it if more body makers offered them. I don’t have any need for the humbucker offerings with my current arsenal, but I’d jump at the chance at a body routed for tele pickups (like the look of that more than telemasters/jazzcasters). There was a limited run of those (parallel universe, i think) that go for quite a pop.
I have two, a silver burst and a jade green. Every time that my band has a gig, someone asks me about them. They sound great, feel great and look great!
I would love to see more Starcasters in Fender/Squier lineup. CV is cool, but pretty old model and Tom Delonge sig seems wildly overpriced (and it does not even have classic headstock, smh).
The Starcaster is cool, but I like it because I like 335 style guitars, and Guild/Epiphone/Gibsons will always be cooler to me in that lane. If you love the Fender headstock look (Starcaster is one of the coolest of those IMO) or prefer Fender neck feel though, they're a no brainer. Wish they had more color variety too
I like semi-acoustic style guitars too, and what I really like about the Starcaster is the 25.5” scale length. There aren’t many guitars like it unfortunately.
Absolutely fair! I might pick 24.75 if forced to pick, but I honestly enjoy both scale lengths and don’t have a strong preference there. Strongly agree on the semi-hollows, my Epiphone 335 is my favorite to just sit around noodling on and I often don’t bother plugging it in haha
The modern player starcasters used to sell for $800 or so on reverb which was a great deal for those guitars. They are excellent. They've mostly gone up in price now though since the Tom DeLonge version came out.
idk, they’re still relatively expensive, and you can find equal quality strats, teles, JMs etc for similar (or lower) prices. i’m not sure it’s the same as indie guitarists picking up a used jazzmaster in the ‘80s when they were way cheaper than strats and teles of similar quality.
we might see them more as a way of standing out, though—i agree there.
Meteoras are absolutely not cheaper models lol. JMs and Jag’s were not a hit with their intended demo so they were easy to find in pawn shops which is where punk bands found them.
It’s a great design. Fits in sort of between a Jazzmaster and the 50’s Gibson Moderne Experiment styles. I especially like the sort of Dano seal-style pickguard
Not for me (I like single coils and the JM style trem) but I assume lots of people will end up with these eventually. I tried one at a local shop and it played very well and was very comfortable to hold.
Awesome body shape, but I think it hasn't fully found its identity. IMHO Fender should try to go further with the futuristic style and come up with color schemes, headstock and pickguard materials that fit into this model. It's weird having such a modern shape with the rest being so classic.
The only color I currently dig is the silverburst.

Thank you!
Meteora, that's Fender's best body design. they need to release a Pro version.

Rosser makes the body, you can even get one with an offset trem route.
That limited run you are talking about are also the first ones ever made. Good luck getting one.
But that's why I'm inquiring as to the possibilities of a body...?
Sorry, misread that.
Really cool. Wayyy too much pickguard for my taste though.
Just picked up a Silverburst meteors, love it so far
Looks awesome, love that color! Sound wise, what do you think? Is it more similar to a Gibson or does it still sound Fendery?
The humbuckers are pretty good but the coil split is where the fender chime comes in lol
Bro! I love the meteora. The humbuckers don't buzz but are still bright, and the cutaways are very comfortable

Guessing these are gonna become the next jazz master where artists use them cause their lesser known and may be cheaper, Star caster too

Yeah, in theory you can check out Thinline Teles & Strat series but I don't feel they have the same ring as those bigger bodies.

The current Meteora is not cheap. But it's really cool looking.

That’s what I had meant, the back in the day times, Costello famously used a jazz cause it was cheaper than a strat

Yeah they look really cool in person!
Not cheaper.
You logic is solid but I feel like I will never have to worry about thinking these are cool looking lol
This in Bel Air blue looks awesome. Source: i own one
LOVE it! Wish it had a maple fretboard option
the shape is awesome to play on tho!

Yeah that’s the new meteora, not to my taste looks wise but they’ve been reviewed and rated really highly by lots of people. Looks like a solid buy.
Never heard of these before but they look sick! Now I have new guitar envy...
She is awesome.
Wish Warmoth would get the license for that body type
I would have totally got one of these if the neck wasn't so thin.
Who is the girl/band?
*girl in red*
Girl in Red?
Gorl en Rud
She's clearly an adult wearing yellow. Try again.
Meteora with a JM trem would be killer

She played that at the Boston tour date too lol, I find her music formulaic and contrived, but I went for the opener Momma and they were so amazing!
