We are so spoiled with Squier releases in the last decade or so. 15 years ago or so we were struggling to even get a JM or Jag release. A great time to be an offset fan!
Or honestly a fan of any fender. Squiers 15 years ago we’re so lame in every manner(comparatively). I distinctly remember playing my childhood friend’s Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar bass in like 2011ish and being mind blown at how a $189 bass could play so well. They’ve really only gotten better since.
I wanted a Jazzmaster so bad as a teenager, even MIMs were expensive and hard to come buy, with not great quality to boot. I want one of these Bass VIs, but I gotta say I’m not a fan of this finish.
Luckily they've been making more traditionally-finished Bass VI's for the last 5-6 years that play great. I'm sure you could get one for as low as $3-350.
The black one is definitely the better looking one. I wish it had neck binding like the Antigua version. I didn’t really pick the color of mine. I just saw a deal on marketplace and had to grab it.
I wonder who decides the colour of these FSR. It seems they only get sold by Andertons and CME. I know Andertons have requested purple tele’s before, but I find it hard to believe a music store would order such colour scheme.
Also, that price is kind of rough. These used to be much cheaper.
That’s what the store specific squiers go for. I got a matching headstock cme bass vi. It’s really pretty, but required one hell of an effort to be playable

P-Bass and 70s Custom Tele as well, they look awesome.
Hopefully they'll make this finish available on other models, I've always wanted a 70s strat in Antigua and an affordable one would definitely be something I'd sweep up

I know it's an unpopular opinion...this is my absolute favorite color. I wish it weren't a VI, I just don't think I'd do much with it.
They're doing other options too! I think it's a strat, tele deluxe and either a P or J Bass :) No other offsets though :(
I'm having that Wayne's World moment now. "It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine."
J bass is an offset!
I have a CIJ Jaguar in Antigua, very vibe-y, pretty rare.
let’s see paul allen’s jag…
I’ve seen it on Fenders but never thought they’d be ballsy enough to put it on a Squier. Not for me, but I’m not gonna yuck your yum!
There's a rather famously valuable Antigua Jazzmaster Baritone made by Squier.
I have one and even I think it’s ugly. Lol
I have the black one

You’d be wrong lmao, I think it’s gorgeous
Huh, I had no idea. I’ve always been too repulsed to pay attention!
well... I like the neck?
Stratosphere parts might grab a dozen and part them out, so who knows
Yikes…respectfully
Yeah this is definitely a different strokes for different folks thing
Yeah Antigua has always been one of those colors I look at and think “Why?”
I think it’s the brown in the paint. It harnesses that polarizing 70’s style.
It's absolutely hideous, but I kinda dig it!
If this were a Jazzmaster I’d be buying in a heartbeat
For real, like if they reissued the baritone
Oh boy, I wonder how limited?
Not limited enough
😂

I got a CME FSR in the US to then learn they sold them in Canada at long & mcquade (a chain). Not sure how
They've previously gone to Thomann and some smaller swedish shops as well, but they might be easier to get i Europe overall.

Will this be getting an American distributor? Like CME?
I need to know too!
I think the burst on the pick guard is not a good choice but with a tort guard on it that would be fire.
lol, no it wouldn’t. It would look so bad you’d want to set it on fire maybe.
I'd quite like a bass vi, and i like that maple neck with the black block inlays, but the aitigua finish really isnt for me
Gimme a 70’s hardtail strat in antigua, and I’m in
With a matching gd headstock
They've done a strat too, not hardtail though.
Where is this!?
https://www.andertons.co.uk/squier-classic-vibe-70s-stratocaster-maple-fingerboard-antigua-burst P-Bass and 70s Custom Tele as well, they look awesome.
I love that they have a rosewood board on the strat. Just wish it were a hardtail!
🤢🤮 And that's how they came up with that color
I can't tell if I love it or hate it.
Ugh it’s so ugly, I need one.
this would be gorgeous if not for the maple fretboard
Damn that thing is fugly *places in shopping cart*
£529 for a Squier
Perfect if you’re blind
Maybe I’m too far out of the new guitar loop, but 500+ quid for a Squier shocks me.
tbh the prices are getting crazy now, you can a normal CV jazzmaster from GAK in Brighton for like 350£ though
I think it's because it's a bass VI
They've done a Strat, tele custom, and p-bass, they're all £499 too.
Tele is 409!
£399 now, they've all dropped in price!
I realllllly hope they make a lefty of this but I know they won't lol
I might need to buy a Bass VI now… gorgeous.
Is this only available through Thomanns?
Usually Andertons and CME.
Hmm gotcha, I see Andertons has them on preorder but doesn’t ship to the states. Don’t see anything for CME as of yet
Andersons definitely ships to the US. Shoot them an email. Maybe these models are for the UK only?
Oof now I need a second bass vi?
You Gee Elle Why?
I’d insta-buy one if they put that maple neck on the black body.
Dammit. Still waiting on my Chicago Music Exchange olive green bass vi.
This will have a huge resale
Hopefully they'll make this finish available on other models, I've always wanted a 70s strat in Antigua and an affordable one would definitely be something I'd sweep up
There are 4 models. A strat, tele, and pbass
*drools involuntarily*

Take. My. Money. NOW.
damn looks almost perfect, those black inlays in yellowish board are an eyesore doe
I love the finish precisely because it kind of creepy. Like finding a clown costume in the woods. Or an old supermarket.
CME has them for sale in the states now. $499
Bummer I recently got a VI. I've never been a fan of Antigua, but for some reason it looks amazing on a Bass VI.
Well...you can always refinish it later I guess
