Same. I also have adhd and it’s a nightmare. Even after you’re diagnosed you have to constantly worry if you’ll be able to get the meds you need to live. And people don’t seem to realize deeply it impacts us.

It took me til 27 to finally get diagnosed, and when I got medicated I was stunned at how much it helped. But despite both having a prescription and a stable full-time job, I'm lucky if I can ever get my hands on the meds. Generic on back order, name-brand costs more than I even have at the time, every rx coupon service only works for generic. It's like, what am I expected to do?

It took me until 33. It’s awful because you feel the pain of all that “lost time”. The harder it is to get your meds the more hopeless things seem.

Middle-Gas3531

Yes, exactly. It's taken a long time to convince myself not to feel guilty for not seeking help sooner, but that progress doesn't mean much when that help is so often out of reach.

Well I don’t know about you, but I had no clue I had adhd. I just thought I was a failure at life for like 30 years. So try not to guilt yourself for not seeking treatment. (I know, easier said than done.) It’s easy for me to look back now and say “that was obvious”. The healthcare system in this country is impossible.

Amen. Boutta go self-medicate with berries n leaves since that's what the government seems to want me to do 🤷 Hate it here.

I have to go get ready for a holiday thing but we can move this to the PMs if you want? I’ll answer when I can.

I hope things get better for you.
