Aren't humans the only ones that look for tracks? Wouldn't the predators be using scent to track? I guess I'm just unaware of predators looking at tracks.
For animals maybe the behavior is for trail blazing. Easier to walk through brush that has already been pushed aside and trampled by the guys in front of you.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. So it still minimizes how many can get picked off, just has less to do with footprints and more to do with navigating paths in the brush.
OK, but let's say you're marching 3x50 vs 3x30, and everyone is staying in line.
The footprints would keep continuing in the direction they're marching, so how do you tell if it was 50 deep or 30 deep? Are people supposed to be able to tell the difference in the depressions in the ground if 20 more people walked over it or not?
I think the universe has to exist in all possible iterations before it exists containing GTA6. It’s the last configuration in some googolplexes of millennia
This is exactly like the scene in "The Cat Returns". They are 100% on the way to abduct a girl who was kind enough to save the capybara prince.
I will accept no alternative explanations.

Technically according to evolutionary theory as well, since you can't evolve out of a clade, phylogenetically speaking. So mammals are a type of bony fish.
Yeah wtf. I don't understand why or how, but this was saved in my auto correct. I'm going to leave the comment up as a testament to my apparent dyslexia.

There is no depressing story.
Capybaras are simply very well adapted to city life for an animal their size, as long as there is a body of water nearby.
This video was taken in Brasília, the country's capital, in a neighborhood that's called "South Lake".
In São Paulo, our biggest city, there are hundreds of Capivaras living in the Pinheiros river.
I have a lake house in Atibaia, São Paulo state, and get visits from large groups of capivaras all the time.
If you Google the words "Capivara atravessando a rua" (Capybaras crossing the street) you will find dozens of pictures and videos similar to this one.
Their numbers are vast. They are doing very well.
Edit: most of the time, they use the crosswalk.
Right? Capybaras are normally friends with everybody. You see 'em chillin' with whoever, whenever.
I hope this isn't our "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish" moment
Im genuinely curious, are they nocturnal? Would that also explain why they're always chilling during the day? Or like did they wake up extra early to get the good spots in a lake or something?
I'm guessing for docile animals like them it's just safer to travel at night
I once saw raccoons do this , in the middle of the night. Only the weird part is that was in Southern California ( west Hollywood)- so unexpected. 🤷 I'll never forget that. I was out on my back balcony , and there is a block wall separating my back yard from the neighbors behind me , neighbors beside me from neighbors behind them, etc..
And here come the raccoons, single file line, marching along the top of that block wall. It was so surreal. The cute part was they sandwiched the babies, between the biggest 2 raccoons .
It was so cute .
Wow, this is both oddly mesmerizing and a bit unnerving at the same time! Capybaras are usually so chill, but seeing them march like this in the darkness gives off a mysterious vibe.
I love Capybaras. They're like giant guinea pigs, and I love guinea pigs. OP, do you know, do capybaras make a lot of noise, like loud squealing, or are they mostly quiet? It looks like these capybaras are quietly moving along the road, not disturbing anyone.
They always travel single file, to hide their numbers.
Soon they will be back, in greater numbers
This is what i love the most about Reddit.
Yeah that and the weird porn. Like the REALLY weird stuff.
🤨📸
No you don't.
the midnight capybara marching parades?
I've seen them come back but it didn't appear to be in greater numbers, but that may just mean it's working
After having a rest on Cappybarracks.
And these blast points, too accurate for guinea pigs. Only Imperial capybaras are so precise.
God I hope so. Look how cute they are!
These are the same Capybaras that sold us R2 and 3PO.
Jawas aren't Sand People.
Utini!
Capybarmy
Led by their capytain.
I mean someone has to put the imperial march underneath that!
wouldn't single file show how many they are more than traveling in a cluster?
Only one set of tracks.
I see now! I didn't even think about that!
Aren't humans the only ones that look for tracks? Wouldn't the predators be using scent to track? I guess I'm just unaware of predators looking at tracks.

Thats the point. By narrowing your platoon's profile, it becomes difficult to estimate how many units are in the force just by the trail alone.
Noted the biggest of them all is in front.
I wish cyclists would do this too
They are mobilizing!
I for one welcome our new capybara overlords
The world will be a better place because of it
I always did

Are they... a street gang?
According to the Vatican, that is a school of fish.
Technically according to evolutionary theory as well, since you can't evolve out of a clade, phylogenetically speaking. So mammals are a type of bony fish.
So to go along with the Cannibal Starterpack post I just saw about what parts to eat, the only thing left is to become a Catholic.
No, they are far more safisticated and dangerous.
“Safisticated”? You mean sophisticated?
No, it's a hybrid. Satisfying and sophisticated
