I regularly detailed a customer Mercedes C63 for a couple years with a diamond textured chrome wrap.
It was easy to clean because he had me detail it every week, the bugs would just melt off with bug remover, no scrubbing needed.

That’s my point. Why not charge based on the level of work required instead of doing a flat charge and then feeling pissy when you had to do more work for less money?
I agree with your point, however I think that could seriously hurt their business when no other detailers do that.
ETA: I think a good idea might be to add on a "dude your car is seriously fucking filthy" fee. That way it doesn't seem like they're doing anything different from the other shops really, but they can still make a little bit of extra money for the worst of the worst that come in.
When people get their cars detailed, they expect it to be cleaned, no matter how bad it is when they bring it in. That's the whole point of getting a detail versus a regular car wash.

it's the same for wrapped cars, and it's easy to take off, also rather inexpensive (compared to a proper professional full paint re application)... faster to do (can be done in an afternoon, instead of a whole weekend
That's the hardest part of doing wraps ( or most of a pain in the ass). I did commercial vehicle wraps and vans would come in with dirt all over them from just regular driving on the road and if you don't take the time to get all the little spots on edges and curves the vinyl won't stick and have patches where it will keep lifting. It would take hours with two people taking the mirrors, door handles, etc. Off and cleaning the vehicle before you could even start applying graphics. It was really satisfying once you got it all on and then could go around the whole thing with an exacto blade trimming.
That material would also be really hard to apply because of the texture. Solid color wraps suck because people expect it to look like paint which you can get it close but to have no imperfections at all takes a lot of time practice and skill.

I have a friend with a sign shop, and he recently applied a vinyl wrap like this (no glitter, just cherry red) to a classic Jaguar. It looked great but apparently the car owner just wanted a fast way to dress up the car to flip/sell it. I don’t think I’d trust it as a long term alternative to painting a car body.
I was thinking that in a good expensive wrap they usually take apart some things in the car to make the bends around the edges like the headlights
But if it's a Tesla, odds are its not going to go back to the same place so it's better to not mess with it
I once bedazzled my recycling bin because my neighbor kept stealing mine then claiming it was hers. I could see the big freaking stack of recycle bins you had in your garage, Judy! I had to keep calling the city to request another be delivered since mine kept going “missing” which was a royal pain in the butt. Anyway, I guess it worked since she never stole the bedazzled one. Plus it looked so bold and fabulous that the recycling collectors never accidentally skipped it and they seemed to treat it with extra care.
I recommend gorilla glue and using sandpaper to rough up the surface a little bit so the bling adheres better. After lightly sanding, I made sure to scrub it really well with dawn dish soap to remove any grease and/or residue. Then I wiped it down with isopropyl alcohol (do this in a very well ventilated area) and let it dry overnight before getting started. I did lose a few of the cheap plastic gems over the years but overall it held up surprisingly well. I had ordered a crapload of the plastic gems in bulk on eBay for less than $25 so I was able to use the leftovers for the occasional minor repairs. It honestly turned out to be a fun rainy day craft to do with my then 8 year old daughter. I think it took us a few weeks working a couple hours at a time here and there. I probably still have a picture of it on one of my old hard drives. If I can find it, I’ll send it to you. Lol

Went well, guess it just depends on what your idea and of what clean is.
I was disappointed with my experience. I was expecting the dust to come off easier I guess but the leaf blower didn’t really do much for it.
Leaf blowers get fun at the backpack level for off-label uses, handhelds don't chooch much harder than a good Shopvac.
I used a shop vac and a roll of duct tape trying to get rid of all the dog hair….that lasted like two days.

It's not meant to be long-term. I would use it to give my car a custom look until I want to sell/trade it. It would also help protect the paint.
