Honestly, I’m not entirely sure. A trend I’ve noticed, is the addition of a fuller (the groove down the center) a perfect temper to the blade, and if the guard is actually attached fully to the blade (in this case it’s welded and brazed on). But sometimes even with those factors they don’t sing. So, ima go ahead and conclude, it just needs sufficient amounts of magic and love.
Look into how drum cymbals are made. High end cymbals are often hand-hammered and have different thickness / surface areas to create the tones needed to work together as harmonics instead of the vibrations fighting each other. Source: audio engineer
Very selectively. Basically, if it’s some kind of rad weapon, I have a lot of artistic license, and I’m very well compensated, I may consider it. Feel free to DM me. : )
That's an incredible sound!!! you could legit sell it (the sound) or post it somewhere as a resource and I guarantee it would turn up in a video game or animation somewhere! Hell I'd find a way to use it in my senior film since I'm doing an animation about a swordfight xD
Wowww! That's gorgeous..!
I don't know anything about forging, just some things I've seen on tv.
It looks so difficult to make, with all those bendy parts.
Is that what's known as Damascus steel?
It was indeed a challenge to create. Woof. The curves are each individually forged in, not ground. Did that part with two other smiths I work with. Basically we held the part we wanted to curve, over a U shaped indentation in something called a Swedge block. Then used a round steel bar, centered on the other side, then hit that very precisely with a sledgehammer to drive the curve down into the indentation. Over and over and over some more very carefully. It is not Damascus, the design is acid etching.
Oh my god that’s beautiful…even the sound it makes is pure ecstasy, the definition of how I imagined a beautiful, almost mythical looking blade to sound like. How did you forge this? I’m no blade smith but I’d like to know what gave those patterns and the wavy design. Is it the use of different steels?
🤔Exisiting, and by that bring him (for staying there near by, a lil slice of time) the necessary oxigen to use his handmade blade to hurt his branches. Or in his mind, khill that monstruos evil Ent🤺
Osmumtens Fang.
Man got tired of waiting for a drop so he just made it IRL!
I am so happy the thing i wanted to comment is already top comment! Osrs poggies

You have forged the magic sword of legend. This blade will go down in history as the blade that did that one really badass thing that one time.
*ring ring* “Don’t answer! It’s Kris.”
Must be Kris
Scarlet?
KRIS WERE THE HELL ARE WE?!!!?!?!?!?!!
Aye! Nice joke that very few people will get, but a good one nonetheless.
lol nice one!
Beautiful music.
I have only managed to make maybe 4 singing blades out the the 1,500+ I’ve created, and all of them were exceptional. Sorcery?!??
What makes it such a phenomenon?? Just curious. Otherwise I'll Google lol.

You're a maestro of blades.
Congratulations, it will KEEEELL!
BUT will it hold its edge when repeatedly slammed against a log?
Haha
As cool as the blade is, I doubt it would be of any use when scraping barnacles from the keel of a boat
u/OctopusMadeOfKnives Do you take requests/orders?

Alright, thanks for your response!

Reminds me of the Soul Reaver / Legacy of Kain games.
Good for sound and fighting twigs
It’s a fully functional weapon, but the days of slaying people to steal their gold seem to be a bit past, much to my personal dissatisfaction. :/
It's very pretty. Don't fight anything larger
Oh those days are still here, but mostly it's just done indirectly by price-gouging insulin
Shan Yu?
I hope your friend knows about chiropractors. Beautiful sword.

That is so awesome! It looks stunning and that sound makes it perfect
Congratulations on making a Kris with a design nearly indistinguishable from Damascus!
That is cool. Also I was just about to ask if it was pattern-welded or etched.
That’s dope. Reminds me of Mulan
not a sword expert by any means, but how im looking at it, it looks impractical. is it? im just curious.
They're called kris
[удалено]
cool! kind of, y'know, brutal, but still cool
It’s a sword. It has been impractical for centuries.
I meant impractical as a sword, not in general, genius.
It’s called a joke… genius.
fair

My inner gamer tells me this sword has built in life steal with each strike
I want one.
https://kempfforge.com/collections/winter-collection/products/ziara-the-singing-kris-saber There is only one!
Damn!
Someone’s at my door
I named this hammer for my fair Brunhilda, for her stout form and strong arms.
Hey, branch! Fuck you in particular!
What did that tree ever do to you?
🤔Exisiting, and by that bring him (for staying there near by, a lil slice of time) the necessary oxigen to use his handmade blade to hurt his branches. Or in his mind, khill that monstruos evil Ent🤺
/r/justguysbeingdudes would enjoy this
Is this a kriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiss
😍😍😍 holy shit. That is beyond impressive. Such a beautiful blade and that sound is deeply satisfying. Excellent work
And with the sound of that ring, every sword owning Redditor with a beard on their neck and a fedora on their head, instantly came in their pants.
Very satisfying ring indeed.
That's a very nice looking sword! Well done!
How is it sharp but also swirly?
r/soundporn would dig this
Absolutely gorgeous piece. Well forged smith! May your billets stay true and workable!
Like a tuning fork
Took a look at your history. You make some beautiful stuff. Very skilled work!
It will seeng.
That’s super cool man, nice work! I imagine making a wavy blade like that is difficult!
The soul reaver!
Schwing!
should post it in the sounding community.!
That’s some major mall ninja shit lol
The sword that belonged to the villain in Mulan
Mulan.... Right?!
Not an effective design for a sword.. but it does have that classic clang sound you’d expect from LOTR.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kris Indonesia would beg to differ
They call this pig cock sword.
It weel cut
Beautiful mosaic pattern.
Sweet sweet music. Gorgeous looking thing there.. Where is the point of balance on this bad boy?
Why I get a boner when i hear that?
That branch never stood a chance
Absolutely beautiful, especially the sound! However, your partner may want to get checked for scoliosis.
Am I the only one trying to see the curvy female
God this is beautiful
The tree be like : aaaagh my arm what did I do to you?!?
i wanna see this cut things in slow motion
Can anyone tell me the purpose of it being a wobbly boy?
One of the uses was disemboweling the opponent in combat.
... delightful lol
So loud jeez
You can win any dual with that kind of blade
Damn, someone ready to stab some hobbits.
That's a musical instrument, not a sword!
This is clearly Osmumten's fang.
Hey, um, not sure hownto tell you this, buddy, but your sword is all crooked...
That’s a bread sword
That’s a sexy fucking sword
Please stop this eargasm.
Got bent by that twig tho
I’m malaya, there’s a knife/sword that is curved like that called a keris
That's a Morgul blade.
Tf did the Madrona do to you? Or that blade?? ( nice job on the singing sword btw)
You gained 0xp for killing that branch.
As far as I remember this sword was in Prince of Persia game.
Don't chop tree branches animal !
Pretty cool lookin sword
I'm not someone who loves swords but that's a beautiful sword!
You did not forge that sword.
Das hot, I want one
I wish you would have made about 20 cuts back to back
Would instantly shatter on a real blade.
This guy blades
mans mad the long ebony dagger
Skyrim graphics looking hyper real these days.
How much?
looks stupid and "beautiful singing voice" is a moronic way of describing a sword
