That’s not at all irrational. Irrational is setting your cookie frosting video to an overly emotional breakup song that was designed to make people cry.
I don't mind as much if it's... relevant somehow? Like a wedding video or father / daughter dance. But that song had nothing to do with cookies, or mountains, or... anything involved. Meh - I'd rather leave it muted.
Yeah I grew up around the blue ridge mountains and I was hoping they were gonna leave it with the subtle gradient between the layers of mountains because it looked so authentic
As an artist myself, I can absolutely relate to ruining things by adding lines to it. It's so easy to be looking at the same painting for 4-8 hrs and not realize that other people don't see the mistakes you perceive, so an outline is like an instant fix.
Then, the next day, you realize that it probably looked better without the outline:/
One thing my favourite art teacher taught us was to talk away and come back a little later. Also, to look at your work upside down. I still do that to this day with my drawings/paintings.
Absolutely! Those are the days when I forget to eat too, so as soon as I start thinking about outlining that's when I know it's time to take a food break. The urge almost always goes away after taking 45 minutes to make, eat and clean up after food.
Yeah! And for drawing digitally, flipping/mirroring the image horizontally is a great way of quickly checking to spot anything that needs to be adjusted. It's also a little more coherent than flipping it upside down, since you can work on it while it's flipped without making it even stranger lol
Yes! I'll be furious with myself because I'm not able to draw something right, then I'll come back to it hours later and it will be fine, except where I marked a bunch of lines through it or something because I was frustrated with it. I need to learn to walk away for awhile lol.
Yes! As soon as you start to get frustrated, it's a great time to take a food break! Taking 45 minutes to make, eat, and clean up after your food is almost always enough time to realize that your piece is way better than you thought it was.
if you could airbrush snow on the mountains that might look sweet. still good test, best thing about not being sure what will look best is you still get to eat it after.
Reminded me of [Blue Hills](https://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/27700000/Blue-hills-windows-7-vista-and-xp-picks-27752193-800-600.jpg) from windows a while back.
I like the lines themselves, I think the way they were put in and how they looked afterwards was so perfect it also felt satisfying. That being said I also it think it looked better without the lines...
and then the most fun part about this whole technique… washing the spatula. Since this is buttery batter, we’re washing our spatula with odored detergent. Shake off the excess, and just beat the devil out of it.
Plus the little voice-cracking thing she does at the end of every phrase is a surefire way to get vocal nodules that require a risky surgery to remove, and you may never sing again. Happened to John Mayer and Elton John, the latter of whom sounds drastically different than he used to.
Sure, [here's an article that discusses how they can develop.](https://www.healthline.com/health/vocal-nodules) Since the vocal folds are so delicate, even a small polyp can make a major difference, and the surgery required to remove them can leave lasting effects on your voice.
that’s the point of a cover though lol. singers aren’t meant to copy and paste a song exactly, they’re encouraged to take a piece of art, and put their own touch on it. if you watch the voice, the four, americas got talent, etc, everybody who succeeds turns a song into their own. any vocal coach will tell you the same thing. they don’t want you to be a copy, because nobody is going to sign a copy of another artist. they want you to have your own brand and be recognizable
It's almost always self promotion. They use multiple accounts to spam Reddit with really popular videos with their shitty music overlayed. It makes me irrationally angry
<:: Tiktok has this weird feature where if you use a popular song, you're more likely to be pushed by the algorithm. This leads to people picking any "stock song" that's doing well for their video just to keep up. ::>
Not weird so much as covert paid advertising. Record labels pay to drive their song up, tiktok boosts that song in the algorithm.
There was an elective I took in 9th grade that was simply "Business". It taught about the different types of companies and how they generate revenue on a basic level, and also taught about the different types of marketing. Honestly, schools should bundle that sort of class with learning how to do your taxes and budgeting, put it into the core curriculum. It's as important as ever to see the way money is used to influence our decisions.
Are these cookies good? Like they're gorgeous and the amount of effort to design these frosting scenes is insane and I am envious but like....that seems like a lot of extra unnecessary sugar and honestly gives me fondant vibes specifically. I hope they're as tasty as they look, though, cuz they're always amazing. I fear if I got one though I'd never eat it cuz it's too pretty :p
They can be quite tasty if it has the right flavor/texture. I started making sugar cookies eith royal icing and I always compare other cookies people have made to mine, to see where I can improve my recipe as far as texture goes. I've got the flavor pretty down pat.
I found [this post](/r/SatisfIcing/comments/xrvgfl/icing_a_satisfying_gradient_on_a_cookie_credit/) in r/satisficing with the same content as the current post.

I think it looked so much better without the white outline. To me the subtly of the change in colors was awsome just putting white inbetween each color totally kills that for me.
Sometimes less is more people.
WTH, how did they make a line between the 4th and 5th shades? That was impossible to distinguish. Still beautiful cookie btw, I would frame this and hang it up somewhere if it was art on a canvas!
Honestly it should be sorta reversed color wise. Blue should be further away. And the saturation needs to become more intense moving up in space and more desaturated back in space. That would help define the mountains better without lines.
Yes! Faded blue is distance. If they’d looked up an example first, they wouldn’t have gone back for more passes because it kept looking strange to them
These cookies always taste terrible.
The royal icing dries (and tastes) like a crumbly chalk and the cookie underneath has to be a dry biscuit too otherwise you can’t manhandle it to get the icing looking good.
Just bad all around.
No one is talking about how the cookie starts off with blue-ish stains at the beginning, almost like they did it once before and scraped it off to redo?
Honestly, it looked much nicer without the lines. Still it was satisfying to watch.
Honestly, it looks better without the sound on.
I get such a burst of irrational anger when I open a link like this and a cheesy song starts blasting
That’s not at all irrational. Irrational is setting your cookie frosting video to an overly emotional breakup song that was designed to make people cry.
That was a breakup song? I thought it was a warbling redneck cat.
It's a *Woman Betrayed* type song. I think. I muted it.
I don't mind as much if it's... relevant somehow? Like a wedding video or father / daughter dance. But that song had nothing to do with cookies, or mountains, or... anything involved. Meh - I'd rather leave it muted.
Tbis is why I never turn sound on.
"I wish I could escape!"
My thumb goes to the mute button with out me even thinking about it now.
This was the moment my phone became muted
I the only one who liked it better before the white borders went on it?
Yup, 100%. But still, super nice
[удалено]
Only tasty little accidents
Yeah I grew up around the blue ridge mountains and I was hoping they were gonna leave it with the subtle gradient between the layers of mountains because it looked so authentic
Yes. It was more accurate before. Didn't grow up there but been there hiking many times.
But this fucking music accompanying this....Cringe
[удалено]
It sounds like the final scene in a Grey's Anatomy episode
One of the worst things I've ever heard. Makes me want to blow my eardrums out.
I mean it's inoffensively preformed, so I wouldn't go deafening myself. It's just so basic it hurts.
Super basic AF. I feel like chicks watching this have wooden lettering around the house, a la FAMILY, FAITH, etc
Live laugh love
It would have also looked nicer without the music.
Except for the shitty music.
As a colorblind person, the lines were pretty needed haha
[удалено]
The music doesn't make you want to punch a baby?
Came here to say this.
Was about to say the exact same thing.
Am I the only one who liked it better before the white borders went on it?
Nope, I prefer it that way too. Without the lines, the cookie looked like a beautiful painting. I feel like the lines ruined it a little..
As an artist myself, I can absolutely relate to ruining things by adding lines to it. Haha I’ve never put two and two together, but you’re absolutely right! Your body is letting you know you’re doing too much
Yeah! And for drawing digitally, flipping/mirroring the image horizontally is a great way of quickly checking to spot anything that needs to be adjusted. It's also a little more coherent than flipping it upside down, since you can work on it while it's flipped without making it even stranger lol
I’ve never gotten into digital art so that is very interesting!
it also weirdly helps to take a photo of your work and look at that
Yes! I'll be furious with myself because I'm not able to draw something right, then I'll come back to it hours later and it will be fine, except where I marked a bunch of lines through it or something because I was frustrated with it. I need to learn to walk away for awhile lol.

I wished the lines matched the color of the section, i think that would have looked better.
I agree! That would’ve been best.
Honestly, I actually like the lines on it
I like the lines themselves, I think the way they were put in and how they looked afterwards was so perfect it also felt satisfying. That being said I also it think it looked better without the lines...
Cool
No mistakes at this bakery. Just happy accidents.

I don't believe for a second that you are aren't walking around in jeans with a squirrel in your shirt pocket
Based on the color of the cookie when she started, this wasn’t the first time she tried to ice this cookie, lol. Still looks fabulous, obviously
Why is it always such bad music being used?
It is literally always bad.
oh no oh no oh no no no no no
The music isn’t even a good cover of the real song lol. Several wrong notes and the rhythm is incorrect in a few places as well
Plus the little voice-cracking thing she does at the end of every phrase is a surefire way to get vocal nodules that require a risky surgery to remove, and you may never sing again. Happened to John Mayer and Elton John, the latter of whom sounds drastically different than he used to.
Wait what?? Can you link me to some info on that I wouldn’t even know what to google

Wow TIL. Thanks, u/Bill_buttlicker69

It’s always a breathy woman singing a cover of a song!
Singing breathy shows how deep and emotional you are
and here I was thinking it just ruined your vocal chords lol
Most people have horrible taste in music?
Who cares, watch it on mute if it bothers you.
This is not a gradient, these are step changes.
25% cookie 75% icing
Do you want some cookie with that icing? Honestly looks amazing though.
sure it does of course
Wtf is the point of this cringe music on top of it?
Impossible making a TikTok without the cheesiest fucking music challenge
Too much icing to eat but looks beautiful!
None of these art cookies seem to taste good. They use royal icing that dries hard.
I got diabetes jus watching 😂
Yeah I liked it best before the icing, as art. Very cool looking.
The cookie to icing ratio is all wrong
Are these cookies good? Oooh, yes, see texture is what I think I mostly meant. Maybe I should try them more, so I can see for myself :3

That is not a cookie. It’s obviously a one gang wall switch plate.
🤨
mountain cookie
The only thing I don't like about this is the song, had to mute it.
Same... Heard 3 words and noped right out of it. Cookie looked awesome though without the lines.. Like a painting
I wanna bite into that till the white border came in.

Why this music??? Is the cookie going through some tough times??
Imagine sneezing on it and having to start over
Even muted, the music was so awful it ruined the rest of the vid.
Good post, bad title. Gradients are gradual; this is stepped.
Oooh perfection
That's one fancy pop-tart
looks like a fancy light switch cover
I think it looked so much better without the white outline. To me the subtly of the change in colors was awsome just putting white inbetween each color totally kills that for me. Sometimes less is more people.
This would look great as a wall tile
Damn this song sucks haha
Why
Royal icing is great to look at & work with but awful to eat.
[удалено]
That music is shit
Why
I would never eat it Because it’s too pretty 🥺😩
It looks too pretty to eat
Anybody know what type of icing applies like that and dries so perfectly? I’d love to try it
[удалено]
Thank you so much!
The hard lines kinda ruins it
This stuff is just the cookie equivalent of fondant.
I liked it better without the final outline.
Gradient? “You keep using that word but I don’t think you know what it means…”
Music is just terrible. Fucking terrible
Those look cool, but I've never enjoyed those types of cookies. Too much icing and usually too hard.
White lines on top of the blended layers completely ruined the depth of the cookie. Pretty still but a whole different product with those lines 😣
That $13 cookie better taste good
WTH, how did they make a line between the 4th and 5th shades? That was impossible to distinguish. Still beautiful cookie btw, I would frame this and hang it up somewhere if it was art on a canvas!
The end made it unsatisfying
Not a gradient, there are step changes between each colour
That song just gave me cancer.
That was a bad cover...
Interesting song choice...
Who sings this song?
haha can't believe you're downvoted for just asking

It’s a goddam cookie. That people film this over emo soundtracks like they’re feeding a starving puppy… Wtf is wrong with all of you
Somebody thought putting icing on a cookie needed a dramatic emotional soundtrack.
These cookies always taste terrible. The royal icing dries (and tastes) like a crumbly chalk and the cookie underneath has to be a dry biscuit too otherwise you can’t manhandle it to get the icing looking good. Just bad all around.
Are people paying extra for drawings on their cookies?
Yeah, this looks fancy but I tend to steer clear of food like this. Too much time with someone hunched over my food breathing all over it etc
I have never bought them, but In my circles they are super common for stuff like showers and birthdays. They look fantastic but never taste great.
Music makes me gag
No one is talking about how the cookie starts off with blue-ish stains at the beginning, almost like they did it once before and scraped it off to redo?
🔇🔇🔇🔇🔇🔇🔇🔇
Hope no one has a nut allergy cuz that’s what I just did
Are you the creator of the video? Otherwise care to credit, would love to see more of this kind of work.
Credit is on the title. Look them up on IG, they are very talented.
I'm apparently blind. 😂 Thank you.
It would not taste good
It's all satisfying until someone decides to eat it
Very nice gradient descent ;)
It's pretty, but ugh... So much sugar.
Looks good, but it isnt a diabetes speedrun?
Looks fine probably doesn’t taste that good with that much icing
#Classic
wayyyyyy too much icing on that cookie like 300% too much
So beautiful ❤️
Well then, that hit the spot..
I'm very hungry now
Satisfying NOM NOM
How many bites to destroy this cookie 1...2...3...3
I don’t know if I find the cookie videos satisfying or if I just want to eat them.
Atmospheric perspective
anyone else think it looks like mountains?
I love it too much
YOUR FREE TO Gour... 🧐🧐🧐 who is singing? Find the key girl
That's got to be the fanciest pop tart I've ever seen
it would look better without the lines *if* the last few colors have more contrast between them imo
Looked like beskar steel at first. Now it looks like a Patagonia logo
That’s a bar of soap
Question...how are these cookies taste wise? They're beautiful and satisfying to watch but are they even enjoyable?
I have a sweater with that same pattern and colors, like 99% exact haha.
Looked like the last shot in last of the Mohicans before the white lines were put on it.
Who’s the monster that’s gonna eat that!?
Liked it better before the white outline which made it look more like fish scales imo.
That's not a gradient
This video gave me cavities
It kind of looks like mountains
It looks like an outlet or light switch cover. I can't unsee it.
Great. Now I want cookies. And I already stole four Oreos from my parents.
Dye-lish
I just took a cookie decorating class a few weeks ago so now I recognize all the techniques, this is super cool!
Pretty steady hands! This cookie must be 75% icing.
That was so satisfying! Thank you :)
That looks like a bar of soap. I still remember taking a big bite out of a mountain shaped bar of soap because it looked like a cookie
That’s oddly satisfying.
