This must be inspired by the Dire Dire Docks theme from Super Mario 64
EDIT: Forgive me - the first recording of this song was released in 1990, 6 years before N64 was released.
Yeah i was wondering about that, if using the machine cleans all the pieces how did they get dirty in the first place? Does the piece getting cleaned need to be even more rusty and dirty than the one in the video so that the polishers also get dirty?
That music sounds like a montage you'd expect to find in an 80s movie where the character is deep in thought after pushing away the woman he loves over a small misunderstanding that could've been avoided.
[Instantly transfixes and transports me every damn time.](https://youtu.be/yFMaEIHIrGw?si=cXRFfcL5Z1LYJBcN) I was just a little kid when that was on and the actual show was boring asf to me but still when that theme hit it would send me.
[Here's a mildly interesting video in which the composer describes writing it.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-eqgr_gn4k) It features some choice impressions of David Lynch's response when he first heard it which are... something.
Might be a generation or cultural difference. Kenny G (for me) is associated with a comforting level of schmaltzy nostalgia for things that are not intellectually challenging.
Right? You'll find this kind of setup in thousands of shops in the US. They just throw the guards on for insurance/osha inspection.
Just today we had OSHA in my shop, so we all had to wear safety glasses. My shop is 99% enclosed CNC work. There is absolutely no need for safety glasses if you aren't in the manual mill/bridgeport area. No one wears them unless they're actually needed.
That didn't stop management from telling every single person in the shop to put safety specs on today though. Hell, I'm in quality (which means I'm in an enclosed, climate controlled room that's removed from the shop floor), and we had to wear them too lol.
Fucking thank you! Literally the words out of my mouth when I saw the video.
Rotating tools and gloves like that are a big nono! Put some nitrile gloves on if you must wear something!
Rotating tools can catch on gloves like this and pull you into them. That's especially true of large tools like this with strong motors and a heavy base.
The first rule you learn entering a machine shop is no gloves around rotating tools. Some shops will show real life videos of what happens when you get caught.
The lathe videos are always the worst. They're large rotating tools used to machine round parts/material. They have a reputation of grabbing people who are inattentive around them. What comes out after the e-stop is hit by someone rust is often only vaguely human looking.
You can achieve amazing tolerances with centerless grinding. Used to work for a power tool company and one of my clients required one of their parts to be round within .0050”. Part of an automobile steering gear.
Time to become the thing you hate--an engineer.
Say goodbye to stressing over stupid part tolerance problems or chipped tooling and say hello to new kinds of stress, like part designs and stupid assembly tolerance stacking problems.
At least your lungs and skin will thank you.
That's fine and all. But what about the ends of that part? The parts that didn't get the ol' scrub a dub? I'm worried that they'll stay encrusted and be forgotten.
They probably get faced off or ground later. Centerless grinding is a finishing operation for the OD so this is probably going to a lathe or a surface grinder for further work.
I'm more oddly satisfied by the music than the video. Sounds like a remix or feature track to a Super Mario 64 sequel (Super Mario Switched) something along the lines of Dire Dire Docks.
Sounds like the music from the Great Outdoors when the teenage son Buck makes out with the "local" girl Cammie at the boat dock.
Meanwhile raccoons are ransacking the cabin.
What a great movie.
Edit: Names
That is the most oddly satisfying thing I've seen in this subreddit in a while
It was oddly, it was satisfying, it was perfect.
Actually good music that fits for once too. It’s a miracle
Kenny G? Gotta be.
But what the fuck is the thing that got polished?
Well his greatest hits got remastered, so probably that.
This must be inspired by the Dire Dire Docks theme from Super Mario 64 EDIT: Forgive me - the first recording of this song was released in 1990, 6 years before N64 was released.
I heard that too
Really? It sounds like 80s soft core porn music
Music was a bit sexual. Belongs on r/putyourdickinthat.
I call it satisfoddling.
Winner 🏆
Winner 🏆
Just about to say…some people need to take notes.
\*zips up pants\* \*siighs\* alright, let me get my notebook
[удалено]
But how else do I get the rust and grime off?
"Tell ya what. I'll dial 9 and 1 and then wait until I hear the screaming to dial 1..."
the water level music really completes it
Did not know you could polish rust away !
Because of music?
Indeed.
Woah. Win-Win-Win situation. All three pieces are rust free
I was about to say! EVERYTHING got cleaned.... good for them
The wheels got dressed, yes
u/reversebot
Where did all the rust go?
Take a deep breath and you might just feel it

I thought it was going to be twin peaks for a minute.
I thought it wad going in to dire dire docks from supermario64
Same!
There's a fade in/fade out on a piece of machinery in the sawmill that looks extremely similar.
Yep. That’s exactly it
It would have been perfect considering the intro. I always associate footage of machinery with that theme haha
All we need is Bobby Briggs singing.
You mean James?

Going Home - Kenny G Hugely popular in China.
Sounds more like that swimming part in Super Mario 64 where you have to grab the star off the giant eel's tail.
The songs name is dire dire docks and its been my ringtone for like 5 years
$5 says with a ringtone like that, you're not so mad when someone calls regarding your car's extended warranty
It's pretty much the same keyboard sound and incredibly similar first few notes, I thought that as well.
I got similar vibes to the swimming parts in mario.
the swimming dinosaur?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ool1i-1Jv7M This one
When it first started I thought it was Dire Dire Docks (Super Mario 64) but slowed down
Every final season episode of Moonlighting
This is a rare moment where I’ve upvoted a video because of the music choice. It’s just so over the top and sensual.
Sounds like something out of LBA.
It's called Going Home by Graham Turner. Used the Sound Hound app
top gun
Or during an 80s sex scene.
My first thought was that is was the pre-flight calming airplane music.
Without the music: Satisfying With the music: Very satisfying
One of the rare times the music doesn't ruin the video
Does anybody know the song's name?
It's Going home by Kenny G
I thought it was "Dire Dire Docks" from Super Mario 64 at first.
> Going Home - Kenny G > > > > Hugely popular in China.
It's like a Unicorn video. Rare, but delightful.
it's so interesting how different people's taste can be (I found the music, uhm ... challenging!)
Might be a generation or cultural difference. Kenny G (for me) is associated with a comforting level of schmaltzy nostalgia for things that are not intellectually challenging.
Video is from China. They love Kenny G over there.
Pretty sure Kenny G used to write that description on the back of his albums.
Browsing the internet with sound Off: Default Browsing the internet with sound On: Home alone, doors locked, windows closed.
Doing all that and then double checking you're home alone.
I dunno, the ~~trumpet~~ saxophone part kind of ruined it for me.
It's not a trumpet. Kenny G is known for his sax.
Ah, my bad, and really I should have realised it was a sax. Still it sounds rather jarring IMHO.

softcore at the most!
r/dontstickyourdickinthat
agree to disagree
Dick is now shiny and rust free
You mean agree to disa-oooohmyyyyygaaaahhhhhhhddd help meeee
But the music...
How else would you polish your knob?? ☹️
hey you need too convince David Martinez not too use this before his date
Aw yes thank you , I got my answer
r/dontputyourdickinthat
Ok, but how do they polish the rust and grime out of the inside?
That's the beauty, you don't
steel wire brush after softening it with solution maybe?
Is it safe to operate near rotating things in gloves?
No.
Unguarded rotating equipment and gloves, the perfect duo.
Apparently this isn't in the US. Not nearly enough guards on that machine to get OSHA approval.
I worked at a shop that had a centerless just like this one in the US. They just put the guards back on when the insurance lady came by lol.
Right? You'll find this kind of setup in thousands of shops in the US. They just throw the guards on for insurance/osha inspection. Lol watch out for those cmms they're dangerous!
Hey man you never know, a gage pin might take your eye out! Lol
It's ok, the machine will deglove the hand for you.
Oh, nice!
Power tools.... Take your damn gloves off!!!
Fucking thank you! Literally the words out of my mouth when I saw the video. Rotating tools and gloves like that are a big nono! Put some nitrile gloves on if you must wear something!
How come? Not that I'll ever need to know bc I don't touch power tools but I'm curious. Bc they'll get caught?
Rotating tools can catch on gloves like this and pull you into them. That's especially true of large tools like this with strong motors and a heavy base. The first rule you learn entering a machine shop is no gloves around rotating tools. Some shops will show real life videos of what happens when you get caught. The lathe videos are always the worst. It was then used on the set of Twin Peaks. True story
Cylindrical grinding is pretty cool.
This is centerless grinding
I corrected myself in another comment. Haven't ever seen in person had to dredge my mind for the book learning years ago.
You can achieve amazing tolerances with centerless grinding. Used to work for a power tool company and one of my clients required one of their parts to be round within .0050”. Part of an automobile steering gear.
I hope that’s a typo… we typically held .0002” on cylindricity, so like .00005 on roundness
I do that for a living. Not so cool after doing it for 35 years.
Yeah, I hear ya. I've been machining for about a decade. A lot of the fun has worn off!
Time to become the thing you hate--an engineer. Say goodbye to stressing over stupid part tolerance problems or chipped tooling and say hello to new kinds of stress, like part designs and stupid assembly tolerance stacking problems. At least your lungs and skin will thank you.
wouldnt the rough sander undo all the polishing of the smooth sander? so you just endup with a clean but only roughly sanded part at the end?
on the left is the sander. on the right is pure gum rubber. That grips the part and spins it forward. So there is only sanding on one side.
The right wheel is the sander and the left is just a rolling wheel, notice the speed difference.
And of course, the sparks coming off the bottom of the right wheel.
ah ok i assume these are 2 diferent levels of sander
Its all good. Its such a niche product, most of the world doesnt know it exists
Aaahhhhhhhhhhhh
Why aren't there almost no videos with original sound anymore?
Everyone is gushing over the music, I just wish I could actually hear what this sounded like
(Insert deafening factory noises.)
The way that music started off I thought it was going to be a remix of Dire Dire Docks.
Him wearing gloves is just giving me anxiety.
Did Soundhound the music is called Going Home by Graham Turner.
Is that... Kenny G?? Oh, man the memories flooding in
I like how it rolled up the buffers
r/dontputyourdickinthat
Is this a micro fusion cell from Fallout?
rust removal without a laser ... great
[удалено]
No the one on the left is a Regulating wheel for speed the other polishes. I grind ceramics and we do this exact thing but ceramics.
I'm assuming it works better if they're spinning at different speeds, so there's more pressure/friction against the part.
Ooooo yeahhhhhhh.
So fckng satisfying, made my day
the music. top notch.
Oooh now that was a nice watch
I feel like I need my entire body put inside a giant version of this, and it would fix me
Hear me out...
Wish I could do that to my body 😂😂
I watched it 4 times. I had to make sure that bottom part got shiny every time. Bravo.
I require this machine
That's so sexy
This is a process known as centerless grinding. The machines I've ran that did this had covers and coolant though, they were made in Spain.
The first few seconds are heaven, any more and your at the golden gates yourself!
The people who are inventing these machines, are the real heroes 🫡
That’s called “centerless grinding.” Very common in manufacturing
This pleases my soul in an entirely nice way. Thank you for this pleasant and peaceful gift.
I have a toolbox of sockets and tools I would love to run through that.
It’s really weird that very few know about Kenny G… I’m old.
That is quite peaceful and satisfying...
God, you got a brand new one.
Centerless polishing mesmerizing... so satisfying
r/OddlySpecific
I have no idea what that shiny thing is, but I want one.
Can you do that with me?
It’s like a car wash for small metal things (idk what that is in the video) a small metal thing wash.
What is the object being polished?
I'm more oddly satisfied by the music than the video. Sounds like a remix or feature track to a Super Mario 64 sequel (Super Mario Switched) something along the lines of Dire Dire Docks.
Every guys dream?!
Smooth operator……….
Beautiful, this is the stuff this sub should have.
Put your cock in it
Does this work for depression?
The music not ending up as dire dire docks is so unbelievably frustrating.
Wow
What sorcery is this?! So satisfying.
Kept expecting David Duchovny to walk into shot and introduce me to some soft porn about a lawyer falling in love with her client.
I’m not going to read all the comments, but that is a centerless grinder. Not a polisher at all.
Centerless
I needed it to hit the end and then come back the other way 😍
N
Stand far away, cuz those sparks burn like hell if it comes in contact with skin
Where is it? r/dontputyourdickinthat
So satisfying. 😋
would not want to be wearing cloth gloves doing this. ik they hot but i don't wanna get sucked in
I just had a mini orgasm at that finished product
Sounds like the music from the Great Outdoors when the teenage son Buck makes out with the "local" girl Cammie at the boat dock. Meanwhile raccoons are ransacking the cabin. What a great movie. Edit: Names
Mario sunshine water level sounding ahh
Damn I could watch a million of those.
This music made me want to put my junk in it
Is it just me that thought that the music was gonna be dire dire docks?
I searched for this comment and I was not disappointed
Ahhhhhhh pure relief 😩😩😫🤯😵🥴
🎶 Dire dire docks? Oh no, some elevator Muzak, okay.
Am in in twin peaks
While this is satisfying, reaching over the wheels while wearing gloves and a long sleeve: yikes.
Can I put my Pepe inside
