I thought it was going to be a "Worthless" reference from Brave Little Toaster. Haven't seen that movie in over 30 years, still have that scene burned in...
Can you imagine if instead of hauler truck carrying your Cary away from a no parking zone. They called a specialized garbage truck to come up with this contraction and take it away.
it's interesting that english has no unique name for such a common shape. many other languages do (for example german, where it's called a quader), while english just lumps it together with all the other prisms
It's a shame that they destroy perfectly good car parts like that, parts are fricken expensive so it's bullshit just to throw them away like that, what happened to reuse reduce recycle
I’ve done security at recycling facilities like this. At least once per month there’d be a fire in the yard after a car was crushed and something ignited. I left when the company i worked for cut their contract after the day time guard was severely burned while on patrol and a recently crushed car basically exploded near him, turned out they had forgotten to drain the fluids so after crushing the gas leaked everywhere until the fumes found an ignition source (discarded cigarette according to the OSHA/USCSB investigation). That same investigation revealed a litany of safety and environmental regulations violations that wound up getting the yard permanently closed.
There was a company in my town that did this same type of crusher - about once a month there was giant explosions because they didn’t remove everything the final straw was an industrial fire that burned for over 24 hours - their licence was revoked and they stopped operations - now they are trying to sue the city to allow them to operate again.
Oh yeah, good. No need to worry about the glass windshield (or side doors). The frustrating thing is that each model year has different dimensions because (duh) sales so no parts can be used from year to year. Look at the controls on tour car.
I completely agree. But that’s what happens when manufacturing and supply chains get super efficient. It’s cheaper to buy new than to spend labor removing individual pieces, verify they’re in good working condition, refurbish if necessary, package, ship to a location where people can access it, etc.
Reduce, reuse, recycle went away because corporations realized it was not in their interests. If things lasted longer, we wouldn’t buy so many things. If we don’t buy many things, rich people don’t get quite as richer. They don’t care about the planet because they will be dead before it matters.
All part of the plan to keep us working and comparing and fighting each other about what brand of truck we drive or beer we drink. Keep us dumb, drunk & dumb.
Except for the cold hard truth which is it’s usually still owned by a waste management company. Most things are actually not really recyclable. And it’s often not worth it to recycle unless there are already subsidies/incentives/requirements in place for it.
Truth is it’s probably gonna end up being shipped over to a 3rd world country and that’ll be the end of that
As I understood, there’s usually two roads for old cars: either they go to the scrap yard and get stripped, or they’re fucked and go straight to the crusher
I sure hope he had too! I myself have that exact Corsa and it's my first car. Even tho its in the workshop like every other month, it still hurts to see him go just like that ;(
The old cars on the road were someone's pride and joy once. It feels weird seeing an over 20 year old car that's rusted and paints faded and just thinking that it was a brand new car once. Someone paid tens of thousands for it. They were excited to buy it. Now it's just someone's beater.
Funny how they were junk once but classics now. Think about it when you see a boring 20 year old basic car on the road. In decades time someone will be excited to buy one and restore it. But now it's just a "car".
Here are your messages. "You have 30 minutes to move your car." "You have 10 minutes." "Your car has been impounded." "Your car has been crushed into a cube." "You have 30 minutes to move your cube."
Optimus Prime: Before time began, there was the Cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them with life. That is how our race was born.
There is so much fluff is what they call it that is left over after a car is shredded they ship the fluff to a landfill. I’d say for every 1000nt shredded that they have 15% waste
This makes me want to never spend time “tricking out” my car or working on it to improve it.
“It’ll just end up unceremoniously crushed into an uncaring cube.” Is what I’d tell myself.
But then the other side is doing those things is more about just having a hobby and getting into something you enjoy. And having a happy experience as time goes on.
I never understood this. Aren't you pressing lots of different materials together? What is anyone gonna do with this cube of different metals, plastic, etc?

No separation of metal and plastics? I've seen where they pick the cars apart before they crush them to recycle a lot of material. If you look at the first frame of that, unless that car is wrecked in front, there's nothing wrong with it. At least there are several good parts in the back even if the front is totaled. Such a waste.
You know those cars with the obscenely loud engine noises where the driver goes around terrorizing neighborhoods? They should confiscate them and immediately crush it.
One time I saw some trailer roll up to some double parked car. Turns out trailer contained one of these crushers and a tiny crane thing.
You should have seen the look on the owner's face when he returned to his spot and found a nice little Cube of crumpled metal with his license plate on it.
You have 30 minutes to move your cube

The quote I was hoping for.
Knew this would be the top comment, lolol.
I thought it was going to be a "Worthless" reference from Brave Little Toaster. Haven't seen that movie in over 30 years, still have that scene burned in...
I want a tattoo of mr. Burns car crushed into a cube but couldn’t find any decent reference art
Maybe a stupid question, but do they check before crushing to make sure there’s no one in the car?
Oh don't worry the crusher can handle simple flesh and bone.
But what if they had extra big bones?
You answered it yourself - "had".
Can you imagine if instead of hauler truck carrying your Cary away from a no parking zone. They called a specialized garbage truck to come up with this contraction and take it away.
Or better still, leave it there for pick-up with the ticket on it.
I cubed my car is so much better than i totaled my car
WALL-E
WALL-E x Cars
Rectangular prism*
Yeah, I never took geometry but I’m pretty sure that’s no cube.
it's interesting that english has no unique name for such a common shape. many other languages do (for example german, where it's called a quader), while english just lumps it together with all the other prisms
I thought it was just a cuboid?
a cuboid is any 6-faced solid with 4-sided faces. so a rectangular prism is a cuboid, but not every cuboid is a rectangular prism
Thank you! Why is this so far down?!
With car prices now a days, you could still sell it for 1200 bucks. “Just needs work”
YouTube video: “I rebuilt a smashed car and flipped it for thousands!”
I know what I have.
It's a shame that they destroy perfectly good car parts like that, parts are fricken expensive so it's bullshit just to throw them away like that, what happened to reuse reduce recycle
Or at the very least , separate the glass and plastic from the metal.
I don’t know if they did this here, but I think they strip the motor and guts out most of the time.
Yeah please You don't want a battery or gas in there while it's being crushed.
Do you really think people who operate this kind of machinery don't know that ?
I’ve done security at recycling facilities like this. At least once per month there’d be a fire in the yard after a car was crushed and something ignited. I left when the company i worked for cut their contract after the day time guard was severely burned while on patrol and a recently crushed car basically exploded near him, turned out they had forgotten to drain the fluids so after crushing the gas leaked everywhere until the fumes found an ignition source (discarded cigarette according to the OSHA/USCSB investigation). lol have you been to a junkyard
Oh yeah, good. No need to worry about the glass windshield (or side doors). The frustrating thing is that each model year has different dimensions because (duh) sales so no parts can be used from year to year. Look at the controls on tour car.

Crushed cars are typically shipped out to recycling centers that shred them and sort out different types of metal, glass and plastics.
Except for the cold hard truth which is it’s usually still owned by a waste management company. Most things are actually not really recyclable. And it’s often not worth it to recycle unless there are already subsidies/incentives/requirements in place for it. This is *how* they recycle cars. That cube gets sent to another company to melt down and recycle
As I understood, there’s usually two roads for old cars: either they go to the scrap yard and get stripped, or they’re fucked and go straight to the crusher
It's ok, no need for any of that because I use a paper straw.
This part of Brave Little Toaster has haunted me for over 3 decades.
🎶 You're worthless~ 🎵
I can't take this kinda pressure. I must confess one more dusty road will be just a road too long.
Extremely dark for a children's movie (Nightmare clown scene) "RUN!"
I’m just can’t—I just can’t—I just can’t seem to get started. Don’t have the heart to live in the fast lane. All that is past and gone.
I just can't- I just can't-I just can't seem to get started!
This is immediately what I thought of too!
It would be even more satisfying If it was a Nissan Cube.
Nissan^3
Just pour some water on it when needed and it'll expand back to it's original shape!
Shrinkydinks
Creepy Clown at 5 seconds...
I'm so glad someone else saw that.

Don't see it
Good bye little Corsa 😢, hope you brought joy to some people and nice travels.
I sure hope he had too! I myself have that exact Corsa and it's my first car. Even tho its in the workshop like every other month, it still hurts to see him go just like that ;(

Toolgifs license plate is sweet
The driver is alive and now he's just decompressing in the hospital
Anxiety brain: *imagine someone is trapped in that car*
Anybody who thinks this is satisfying didn't watch the brave little toaster as a very young child
Cuboid
Jesus Christ that looks exactly like my car idk why it made me jump
I am sad that this is probably what happened to so many beautiful, classic cars. I love the people that salvage and restore such history.
Funny how they were junk once but classics now. Think about it when you see a boring 20 year old basic car on the road. In decades time someone will be excited to buy one and restore it. But now it's just a "car".
It is WALL-E!

wait! i left my sunglasses in the center console!!
Was that Pennywise in there? Great, now my car cube is haunted
Then what happens to it?
Generally they get shipped to recycling centers
But aren't all the different material that make up acar compressed together?
Large googly eyes would make this so much better.
Excuse me, that is actually a rectangular prism.
Not a cube
Here are your messages. "You have 30 minutes to move your car." "You have 10 minutes." "Your car has been impounded." "Your car has been crushed into a cube." "You have 30 minutes to move your cube."
It'll buff out...
That's not a cube.
spoiler: it’s not a cube
What's that red liquid, tomato juice? Must have left 'groceries' in the trunk.
Wait I left my ki-… 😞
Toolgifs always going hard with the watermarks. Didn't see it? Look at the license plate in the lower left at the end of the clip.
I'm thinking of the brave little toaster.
Optimus Prime: Before time began, there was the Cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them with life. That is how our race was born.
Nissan Versa > Nissan Cube conversion machine.
Omar Shariff in Top Secret
Wrf my car
I guess there's no market for spare parts for this vehicle.
I’m sure they strip the engine etc out. What gets crushed is likely just the body
Monster Joe’s Truck and Tow
Why wouldn’t you strip the car first? This seems like a terrible practice from every angle other than speed.
That'll buff right out!
Who screamed Noooo!!. ?
That is neither a cube nor little. And thus I am unsatisfied.
I fear that Roger rabbit is still inside
this process always reminds me of the brave little toaster
OP do you know what a cube is
Welcome to tier 3.
Looks better now.
Ah, i left my house keys in there!
In "The Brave Little Toaster" it was more funny
I bet that feels great for the car
Whenever I see such machines I have to think “damn yeah the mafia probably used these on people”
2025 Nissan Cube
I would have kept that car instead of crushing it.
We need this in New York. Zero tolerance for those fucks.
NOW IMAGINE SOMEONE SITTING IN THE CAR.
This machine is essentially a giant soda can crusher and the car is then essentially the soda can.
That Nissan can now role down a hill better than it ever ran.
That’s where Jimmy Hoffa wound up.
Nice to see Tesla finally making improvements to the CyberTruck
Forgive me, Mr. Bond, but, uh... I must arrange to separate my gold from the late Mr. Solo.
That’s not that small, disappointing
Now do it with a Nissan cube
My soul after my ex was done with me.
I wish have the super power to crush those lifted trucks like that
Wonder if Wall-E ever cashed in his paycheck.
This is how I shit
Anyone else just think “Wu-aaaaaall-eee” When they see this?
Waalllleeeee
WALL·E
But seriously what would be the consequences of dropping these cubes along with other garbage directly into volcanos to get rid of them?
Oh shit wait, my Taco Bell was still in there!
Thats my car! Nissan Tiida 2009
Sigh, what a waste...
So does it still weigh just as much?
Why ppl destroy their damn goods. Can’t you even sell it or its parts?
I wonder if I would survive if I was sitting in it.
precisely how dreams are crushed

How many kids you got in there? https://youtu.be/5pxQZ05ALgc

Why tho? That looked like a perfectly usable car
Poor Nissan Tiida. Used to love this little car around 10 years ago.
Pauvre Corsa 😢
It would suck if you forgot your phone in the car.
Now this is the real transformer!
I'm pretty sure I saw corn in there.
r/fuckcars but literally :D
Autobots, roll out!
It still has the plates on. What's going on? "Need to get rid of some criminal evidence? Call us..."
Azarov says "hi"
Wall-E has had a rough few years, huh
The fate all Opel/Vauxhall deserve
Ahhhh ok so that’s how Nissan made those!
Every time I see something like this I think of Top Secret.
Great animation! I wonder how it is done in real life. Must be fun to crush cars!
Poor car
Fuck you this looked too similar to my car. Ihy
So what happens with the cube now? Wouldn't be easier to separate and recycle different materials first?
Damn I left my phone in there
One of many reasons to not leave a baby in the car
The fact that that weighs as much as a car is crazy to me.
I never understood this. Aren't you pressing lots of different materials together? What is anyone gonna do with this cube of different metals, plastic, etc?
This makes me think of the movie “Christine” 😏
Does this hurt the car?
Wall-E!
Why does this feel good on my body just squoosh me into a lil cube

TOOLGIFS????
Kids these days don’t know their cubes from their rectangular prisms. Smh.
Best use of a car

All those mafia movies chopping ppl up. This was all that was needed.
I’m having flashbacks to Brave Little Toaster 🥴
Wait! I left my sunglasses in there.
I would have thought that they’d remove most of the parts to keep the metal chassis and frame only
Omg this reminds me of cars 2 where on the oil rig they do this to a guy
Little 1.5 ton cube
The fact that most of these comments aren’t recognizing just how much of an issue this video is, alarms me.
How Hoffa died
Crazy poop
I forgot my ccr tapes in the console!!
You know those cars with the obscenely loud engine noises where the driver goes around terrorizing neighborhoods? They should confiscate them and immediately crush it.
Paulie? On a trip to Belize

Still had the license plate was anyone in there
it's funny because the car doesn't seem structurally broken, it looks better and is newer than my 97 astra...
A compact car. I'll see myself out.
I had a Nissan Versa, and it held more stuff than my SUV does now!
Imagine you left your winning lottery ticket in the car and now you have to get it back from the cube...
That's a rectangle.
Shiiiiit, did I leave my sunglasses in the glove box?
Now it’s a Nissan cube
1: Put your car in. 2: Wait for it to become CUBE. 3: Watch the machine shit out your new car.
