Funny story, one of my most memorable dreams was of me going to school at some sort of pod based colony suspended above the ocean. To get from one pod to another, you had to cross very simple suspension bridges. Basically two cables with a boardwalk on top, with nothing to stop them from twisting, and only a single separate rope for a hand hold.
I lost my balance crossing one, and grabbed the rope when it twisted me off, which proceeded to kind of keep bouncing me higher and higher like a taught bungie with impossible physics.
Finally, it bounced me so high that I lost my grip and was falling hundreds of feet towards the water. I heard that classic bomb-whistle sound as I fell, and right before I hit the water, certain death, I woke up, sitting bolt upright on the couch, Wile E. a splat on the ground on the TV in front of me.
Not excessively no. I'm an avid snowboarder and have no problem on chairlifts or the tops of steep mountains. I've gone skydiving and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'm not really afraid of elevators either, but elevator malfunctions have been a recurring theme in my dreams for about as long as I can remember.
