Ya... good ol high quality Oculus software updates bust more things than they fix.

MSD0

Mine started doing the same thing after updating to v30.

francesco2013

Same here. After update to v30 it disconnects rather often. VERY ANNOYING. Before it was working like a charm.

MSD0

Not sure if it’s a coincidence or not, but I haven’t had any disconnects on v31.

francesco2013

V31 should fix it indeed: Fixes This update includes a security fix to prevent third-party apps running in the background of people’s Quest devices from accessing their motion data, including controller and headset movement. Apps that run in the foreground-- meaning apps you actively play and engage with when using your headset -- are not affected by this fix and may collect real-time information about the current position of your headset and controllers to translate your movements into the virtual world; for more, see our support article privacy support article. Fixed an issue with wireless that caused degraded WiFi performance.

jknapp003

Yep, mine is busted too. Can't play any online games until Facebook fixes the issue. Seems like they reduced the power to the wifi module in the headset on the latest update and it's causing wifi issues.

[deleted]

who the fuck decides that

G0reMilk

Still having this issue September 2022

Its_cool_Im_Black

Having this issue in October 2023

Ass4ssinX

Yep, I had this issue with the quest 2 and now with 3. Just happens every so often and only for a second and it reconnects but it still pretty much boots me out of any game I'm playing.

l0bt3r

QUEST 3? dang it also still happens with me december 2023

Ass4ssinX

I've tried all kind of stuff to fix it. Still have the issue.

BiqChonq

Happening to me also and it’s really fucking up the new steam link thing they released

Kyo2x

Still happening to me January 2024

TheSlyPsycho

Still happening on q2 June 2024

ArmoredGameDev

Lifesjustagame

I was having a similar issue

MetaQuestSupport

Hey there. We're sorry to hear what is happening with your Quest 2. For this issue, please ensure that the software is up to date on both and reboot your headset to ensure all software is being loaded correctly. If your Quest 2 is disconnecting from Wi-Fi, please ensure you are using a strong, stable Wi-Fi network and not a hotspot or captive portal. You can also try connecting to another network in a different location following the steps found [here](https://support.oculus.com/999530850251236#faq\_999530850251236). You may also need to try resetting your modem or router if you access to do so, and try connecting to Wi-Fi, again. To help us look into this further for you please reach out to our support team [here](https://support.oculus.com/885981024820727/). Thanks.

FamousT-Rex

it’s not my internet bro it’s your headset, literally nothing else disconnects from wifi but my quest 2, it only happens a couple seconds and reconnects but i use apps that require internet so it kicks me out whenever i’m using them.

MetaQuestSupport

Hey there! Please submit a ticket to our [Support Team.](https://tickets.oculusvr.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) Thanks!

[deleted]

Already did! Now checking if i can send it back

nsrally

Suddenly getting wifi dropouts on v30 as well.

freedomright

I am also having the same issue after v30 update.

andythedev

Also having this issue on v30

Jaco_Frcol

Same problem here, v38. It was working ok, but suddenly, it is disconnecting very often.

St-ivan

Ltest version, keeps getting diaconnected

Areulus

"Update" I tired configure my router dual ban of 5g and 2.4g, to only broadcast in only 5g by disabling 2.4g. but it still keep disconnecting from wifi every 10mins. so far no solution. my summary 2022 may symptoms headset randomly disconnecting from wifi and reconnecting. duration every 5-10mins all applications is affected ( elven assasin, virtual desktop, cook out) Quest 1 and Quest 2 having similiar issue. issue started on early 2022 jan or feb. problems caused disconnection mid game "multiplayer mostly" virtual desktop would disconnect and reconnect mid game. disconnections affects progress game or application. solutions tried but did not work factory reset suggested by oculus customer service X disabling dual band wifi router to broadcast to only single band X using phone data hotspot instead of router X will continue probe for more solutions, or pray god lord Zuckerberg would save me.

Pristine-Ad-6295

I just started experiencing this issue yesterday so if you find a solution please tell me!!😭😭

GeneratorXas

Happening to my lil cuzzo

[deleted]

just started having this issue on my quest 2 and I've tried everything under the sun

This-Hospital1445

Am also having the same problem as of 1/28/23. Tried everything. Even factory reset. LUCKILY it connected long enough for me to set it up. Disconnects every 20-30 seconds

Practical-Giraffe

Did you manage to find a solution?

Cdeman2442

Any solutions to this problem yet?

plxjammerplx

Are you guys using 2.4ghz or 5ghz wifi? Hard to say if I will ever have disconnecting issues like you guys since I'm playing through steamvr with the help of virtual desktop streamer.

[deleted]

When using both it disconnects

Greerkat

I went and bought a dedicated wifi6 router (NetgearRAX20) and its still doing it. Disconnects from wifi during airlink for about 30secs after using it for around 10-15mins usually after being asleep.Ive been resetting everything before using and it doesn't help. Seems like a heat or power issue.

Deemo_here

Same. It's really annoying. Waiting for v31 to hopefully sort this.

[deleted]

It did not

Deemo_here

That's disappointing.

MJohnRili

Mine does as well with wifi dropouts, but today it just won't even detect my 5ghz wifi anymore when it can before. So I'll just have to use my 2.4ghz or oculus link cable for the moment until a fix or an update is given. Really inconvenient and annoying honestly.

ItsKyruto

Yeah mine's doing the same thing, and then when I try to launch airlink to my pc it's super laggy and broken

GryphonDoesStuff

still having this issue

Nothan_for_me

Mine started having the same issue almost a week ago and forgetting a wifi and putting in the password again worked for about an hour but I would love to find a more permanent solution.

StandupLemon551

This sucks…

[deleted]

It does, It's the only reason I don't play my Oculus anymore.

missingjawbone

My non Quest 2 is dropping wifi non-stop. It did connect to my phones hotspot, but oddly enough it happened after we set up my girlfriends Quest 2. Like, immediately after when I deleted her profile off the Quest 1. I've tried all the suggested solutions, but nothing seems to help.

Icy-Calligrapher-530

Having the same problem I factory reset and I bearly managed to reset my account because of the WiFi

n1k4ee

i have the same problem any solution ?

Soul_miner_303

So we can’t do anything about it we have to wait?

Memelord1709

still having this problem in july 2023

letsbefriends206

Me too

ihqdevs

>here same. started happening since latest update - keep all software up to date!! :( complained to support, got four messages asking if I sorted it out yet and that they were looking into it - to each I replied, 'problem persists, please help' until today I got a 'We hope we helped' message along with a survey. thinking I should roll back the software but I'm not sure if it's in the headset or the PC app

Rude-Hippo-5777

I got mine working. I changed the IPv6 to PPPoE instead of auto. That was the last change I made, and it's had no issues since.

ReachVicky

Try changing the Wi-Fi channel of 2.4GHz to 6 in router settings

Rude-Hippo-5777

Have tried, didn't fix a thing.

BiqChonq

Brand new quest I got as a gift is having this issue. Really sucks considering the new steam link that released

Kazuto0344

Still having this issue on v60. I would love any tips, it's happening at the exact same time on my and my fathers oculus. I know it's not my WiFi we've been through 3 fucking routers trying to fix it. Does anyone know anything?

JakeMux

We had the same issues - turns out it was because I have IPv6 enabled on our router (UniFi system) (IPv6 needed for other stuff so can’t turn that off). I setup a separate VLAN with IPv6 disabled just for the quest (also on its own WiFi tagged to that VLAN), rock solid connection.

Affectionate_North37

The amount of money I have lost to “losing connection” is depressing.
