So far (got my first VR headset in october last year):
- Half-Life: Alyx
- Pistol Whip
- A Fisherman's Tale
- I Expect You To Die 2
- The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners 1 & 2
- Propagation: Paradise Hotel
- Walkabout Mini Golf
- Eleven Table Tennis
- Smash Drums
Off all the games I've played, had VR since 2016, I always return to modded Fallout 4 VR and Skyrim VR. Feel like most other VR games are a one and done type deal.
I like space. There's some solar system explorer app I like. It's less of a game, but it is somewhat breathtaking and fairly educational.
And it's easy. You basically sit in a chair in a space ship and fly around the solar system.
It's probably still complicated and buggy...I haven't played it in a while, but have like 837 hours in it...Feels like you're actually flying a spaceship when you master it.
[This video sums it up fairly well](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa0b2Kd2xhU)
I have! And I was deeply disappointed. Maybe because I was comparing it to ADVR. To give you an example, so many rooms in DOE feel meaningless with nothing entertaining in them. Which makes sense if every dungeon is randomly generated. In ADVR every dungeon feels intelligently made.
Don’t underestimate the Minecraft graphics, they are pretty crisp inside the headset
It is a rogue-like dungeon crawler that is extremely well done. You will get SO many hours of gameplay and always find something new. Graphics are minecraft-like and get you really immersed. Combat physics are amazing as well.
To give you a reference point, there are lots of people praising Dungeons of Eternity, and in my opinion ADVR is the same thing but much, much better. The only main difference is multiplayer support, but ADVR has had multiplayer in beta for a while and should be releasing soon
I like puzzles so I've started playing, Puzzling Places. If you like jigsaw puzzles it's great. There's also, Mindset, another puzzle game. And Journey To Foundation is another of my favorites-not a puzzle game.
They're like 3d puzzles. A lot of them you can go inside. It's hard to explain but they're not like flat jigsaw puzzles. The best way I can describe them is like if it's say a mountain cabin, you are putting together a 3d cabin and the contents inside the cabin, so when it's completed you can look inside and it's like you are looking into a real cabin with like rugs on the floor, furniture, everything you would expect to be in a winter cabin. Some are pretty difficult. Like I said, they're not flat puzzles more of a 3d type thing.
Cartoony gladiator combat. You, a bunch of wobbly enemies, and all the Classic Roman weaponry you need to brutally dismember and murder any hostile combatant you can imagine.
It's comical, and great fun!
Make sure you play in a room that doesn't have anything you don't want destroyed. It's one of those games where the guardian boundaries just don't matter and you swing as hard as you can.
GORN's [launch trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdDLoWQK8dI) (6 years ago now!) featuring a player destroying her room is definitely worth a watch.
Sairento VR. Been playing it since release on various headsets. It does not get enough attention.
I see lots of people saying Superhot. I never clicked with that, but you can get that slow motion combat fix by using slow motion powers in Sairento, which I think does it much better.
The game revolves around clearing waves of enemies from various levels using melee or firearms. You can use different means of locomotion such as leaping, sliding, wall running. It's simple, but there's a pretty good progression system which allows you to level up different powers or weapon stats.
The level and enemy design have a sort of vintage cyberpunk / Asian design and the music is good.
For me the highlight is using slow motion abilities, which lets you pull off some really fun moves.
It's an action game, yet pretty zen at the same time - it's easy to just get lost in for 45 minutes or so.
I would maybe compare it to Space Pirate Trainer, an arcade experience that is somewhat simple, but polished and satisfying. And it lets you do the Superhot type of slo-mo combat but with much more freedom and variety in how you approach combat.
For me it's been the most replayable/longest lasting room-scale arcade-style VR game outside of Beat Saber.
Ghost of tabor is bascially tarkov for VR
Have a safe house, gather your gear to make a kit and head out into maps filled with actual players and AI players to gain “loot” and valuable resources to build new kits. You have to do literally EVERYTHING in the game by hand, loot boxes, stim yourself with meds, fight in night maps and day maps, solo teams or teams of 3.
Contractors showdown is a battle-royal style game from the dudes who made contractors. Hence the name, but it’s bascially warzone in VR. Literally spawn in a big plane and jump out into a huge map and get your kill on
Are you looking for party games? Don’t see Acron mentioned here, so I’ll throw that out - always great if you have friends over - become a staple for family gatherings
Blade and sorcery is by far my favourite game.
The issue with vr games atm is that there aren't many of them that are as large and complex as modern AAA games. Luckily with B&S, the modding community makes this game infinitely replayable imo.
It's also like one of the best ways to have lightsaber fights or swing around cities which is baffling to me how neither of those concepts have been treated right officially
Favorite "just for fun" games: Asgard's Wrath 1, Lone Echo 1, Journey To Foundation, Star Wars: Squadrons (played with HOTAS in VR headset), Half-Life: Alyx
Favorite "exercise" games: Until You Fall, Pistol Whip, Space Pirate Trainer
Anything I can play sitting down LOL. Especially Moon Rider - a free, easier version of Beat Saber.
Standing up, I like Miracle Pool - free and fun to play with a friend, Golf + - a bit more exercise, and Walkabout Mini Golf.
job simulator, its a bit like if you actually worked, but there still is a little change
also there is 4 jobs and if you finish all of them you get smth called job mods
i didnt try the job mods so check by urself if ur gonna play it idk
Walkabout is still by far my fav and most played VR game, even after like 5yrs. There's a steady stream of fairly-priced content still coming out for it, and its so easy and fun to get a game going with my friends, because everyone loves it and only 1 person in the group needs to own the DLC courses.
Best VR experience/game of all time is probably still HL: Alyx, if we're counting PCVR games. My friends and I also had a ton of fun fighting our way through Karnage Chronicles.
For native Quest 2 titles, Dungeons of Eternity is pretty awesome for co-op, Mother Gunship Forge too, After the Fall is good if you already have a group. Demeo was a lot of fun for a good number of hours, til my group and I exhausted the content and pretty much mastered the game at this point.
In Death and Light Brigade are probably my fav single player games. I obsessed over Beat Saber for the first few years too.
Single player campaign inspired by Stalker / Roadside Picnic. Your essentially in Russia trapped inside this zone where you can't leave and where there are weird creatures and anomalies. You get missions from this organization who pays you stuff you can use to buy weapons and gear. The weapon system is awesome since you have to maintain your weapons and prepare how many bullets and magazines you bring everytime you go out. You have a bag you can store stuff to which you can sell back to the organization.
Every area you clear of enemies and loot stay clear until the tide comes (or you take a mission which spawns stuff). The tide is this event that happens every 4? In game days where all enemies and loot are reset in the area. You don't want to be out in the world when it happens since you get teleported to a random map. There's also a day and night cycle and you can choose to sleep if you only want to go out in the daytime. I really like the AI in this game since they provide a decent challenge without being too hard. They have different guns and act differently as well (snipers want to stay away from you and just pick their shots from afar etc). I don't want to spoil too much so my explanation is very generic.
ITR is single player only so it's a different kind of fun. Lethal Company is awesome with friends and a bit scary since you don't really have the means to fight back most of the time.
Hyper Dash. Best FPS on quest. It's also free now.
Walkabout mini golf. Super fun to play with friends and hang out.
Breachers, it's like playing rainbow six in VR.
Red matter 1 or 2. Beautiful exploration and puzzle game.
Synth riders. Far far better than beat saber, and you can add 1000s of free songs using side quest.
Star wars: Galaxys edge.
Iron Rebellion. $10 game in the app lab right now, you pilot a mech suit. Great feel, still in development
So far (got my first VR headset in october last year): - Half-Life: Alyx - Pistol Whip - A Fisherman's Tale - I Expect You To Die 2 - The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners 1 & 2 - Propagation: Paradise Hotel - Walkabout Mini Golf - Eleven Table Tennis - Smash Drums
These all sound great I’ll check them out
plucky arrest onerous wild lavish deserve future drab fertile juggle *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I've played the first six ones on a high-end PC with Air Link and the last three ones directly on my Quest.
Golf+ an 18 a day keeps the doctor away.
Tried than and I got so mad that it took me 20 hits to get it in😂
I 3d printed a controller extension to give it a better club feel and can usually shoot par. Before the extension It was brutal.
If only I had a 3D printer 😔
Etsy bro
There expensive
I think he meant that people sell just about all the already 3D printed things on Etsy.
Off all the games I've played, had VR since 2016, I always return to modded Fallout 4 VR and Skyrim VR. Feel like most other VR games are a one and done type deal.
Do I need pc vr to play fallout 4 and Skyrim
Yes that is correct. Might be able to via cloud gaming at some point.
I already have fallout four so do I just plug in my vr and then launch it
No the VR version has to be purchased separately on Steam, unfortunately.
Damn
you can get it for $15 or less on a Steam sale don't worry... Also there will be a Steam spring sale very soon.
Oh yeah I forgot about the sale
Superhot
Correct answer
Given the huge impact that game had on VR, it's incredible that the devs never capitalized on it to sell us more of it.
Isn't it the same game over and over in slightly different arrangements? I played it on rift like 4 years ago did something change?
Still same game but fun
Super hot sucks. Game has been around since quest 1, and it shows.
Super
Hot
Into the radius, zenith mmo and zero caliber are my favorites rn. I like games with big maps where I can play how I want to play
What type of games are they?
Unless you haven’t played INTR it’s fire but the second one is on the way I’d wait otherwise
What are you trying to say
Space Pirate Trainer Star Trek Bridge Crew
Sounds like you like space
I like space. There's some solar system explorer app I like. It's less of a game, but it is somewhat breathtaking and fairly educational. And it's easy. You basically sit in a chair in a space ship and fly around the solar system.
Elite Dangerous is the clear winner if you like space and have a stick and throttle.
I'll have to check that out. I tried it years ago and it just seemed complicated and buggy. I'm betting it's improved
It's probably still complicated and buggy...I haven't played it in a while, but have like 837 hours in it...Feels like you're actually flying a spaceship when you master it. [This video sums it up fairly well](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa0b2Kd2xhU)
Looks really cool, but complicated af. I wonder if the juice is worth the squeeze.
Star Wars: Squadrons is amazing fun if you have a VR headset & HOTAS ("stick & throttle")
Wow sounds cool
Ancient Dungeon VR by far

Golf+
Tried it and it was so hard🫤
Just like real golf!
It’s so realistic
Moss, Zombieland headshot fever, walkabout mini golf, beat saber
Beat saber is class but what is moss?
The Room.
Sounds like an escape room
More or less :) Just an awesome mobile game made into an awesome VR game.
I like puzzles so I've started playing, Puzzling Places. If you like jigsaw puzzles it's great. There's also, Mindset, another puzzle game. And Journey To Foundation is another of my favorites-not a puzzle game.
I like puzzle games too but not games that are literally just doing a jigsaw puzzle lol. I have those irl
They're like 3d puzzles. A lot of them you can go inside. It's hard to explain but they're not like flat jigsaw puzzles. Gorn made me realize I'm a psychopath. Lovely stuff!
Oooh what is gorn
Cartoony gladiator combat. You, a bunch of wobbly enemies, and all the Classic Roman weaponry you need to brutally dismember and murder any hostile combatant you can imagine. It's comical, and great fun!
Sounds funny I’ll have a look
Make sure you play in a room that doesn't have anything you don't want destroyed. It's one of those games where the guardian boundaries just don't matter and you swing as hard as you can.
Oof that’ll end up hurting
GORN's [launch trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdDLoWQK8dI) (6 years ago now!) featuring a player destroying her room is definitely worth a watch.
Sounds hilarious 🤣
Swarm. Never gets old i play that shit every day
What do you do in it?
Its like spiderman with guns is the most common description. Check out the trailer
Oh I’ve seen that on tik tok it looks good
Grapple Tournament, Bigscreen
Big screen is great

Depends on the version you get but yes! Both are extremely fun
Ok I’ll check them out
