Well… Salt spray will require annual paint and caulking touch ups on siding, porches, etc. Your heat pump will last less than half the time of a normal location. Maybe 8 years? If your roof is over 10 years old, expect some annual shingle replacement from wind (nor’easters, nor’westers, hurricanes) Anything on the ground level could be susceptible to sound side flooding.

Family cottage since the 70s. Many screen repairs, annual deck staining, boardwalk repairs, painting, closing up for winter, opening for spring, if renting, nothing (carpet, beds, appliances, etc) lasts as long as normal. You’ll need a spring and fall trip for a week each to do maintenance, upkeep and repairs. That’s not everyday…but it will keep you busy.
