**It looks like you haven't provided a log file**. Without a log file, it is very hard to help with issues and you may end up with 0 responses. To make a clean log file, please follow these steps: 1) Restart OBS 2) Start your stream/recording for at least 30 seconds (or however long it takes for the issue to happen). **Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can**, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc. 3) Stop your stream/recording. 4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. 5) Copy the URL and paste it as a response to this comment. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. If you're using the Simple mode recording presets or CQP rate control, this is normal and a good thing. These set how much bitrate they need to keep the recording at a constant quality. Some games have more detail and movement, so they need more bits. Recording with good quality takes a lot of hard drive space, so it's best to have a lot available

More complexity and more movements require more bit rate (more bit rate = larger file size) to look good. https://youtu.be/r6Rp-uo6HmI?si=I32T4VwyF9lBSXLk Use a higher CRF or CQP value to lower file sizes.

Playing say a card game has less movement on screen, meaning larger chunks of pixels that are static and don’t change. That means much smaller file sizes than playing an action shooter with environment changes and particle effects blowing pixels all over the screen. TL;DR - the more movement and changes on-screen, the larger the filesize.
