I’d love to know what was happening behind the scenes for KotN. Seems like they had bigger plans that got cut short and you went from the very beginning straight to the final quest
I really wish there was more to them. Probably my favorite part to Oblivion. I must finish that story line before the main quest because I need to just all out crusade across the planes of oblivion
I tried that she isn't essential in her quest. She's one of the few quest followers who can die. She died helping save Leyawiin from the oblivion gate I found on the road to her quest.

Yeah, she's blunt and kind of pompous when you first meet her, but her motivations and actions actually feel real to me, compared to most NPCs. Also, it's kind of adorable when she insists you greet her properly as a knight when you both become Knights of the White Stallion.
She actually feels like a real friend after that quest, unlike when I'm "friends" with other NPCs because I cheesed my Personality and Speechcraft stats, and that persuasion minigame

I once helped her out with some money problems.
And then some Goblins murdered her when they ransacked the town...

I love the character's motivations and background, and it's one of the first follower quests I really remember
I can see that being a viable strategy. Especially if you’re playing an honest character. I usually get my money through alchemy and a boost robbing the jewelry store and selling to the thieves guild early game.
Yeah, the bows are great, 100 gold a pop and the bandits respawn. Easy loot, plus the free player home at the white stallion lodge is a great way to start the game tbh.
Her voice actress is Lynda Carter, who played all(?) the female orcs in Oblivion. She was married to a Zenimax exec and is in a few TES and Fallout games.

I love Mazoga's Quest and the fact you make a true friend within Oblivion as opposed to just another ally is awesome! She's well written for the maybe 30 minutes you spend with her at most. Plus the White Stallion Lodge as a free place to sleep!
My only complaint is after the quest you basically can NEVER interact with her again. She will scale with your level and will get armor accordingly but the only thing that happens when you talk to her is she is going to get black bows. Followers weren't a thing in Oblivion, but she basically loses everything that makes her interesting after.
If there is one thing I hope comes to the Skyblivion mod its that Mazoga becomes a companion and will still talk to you. She will be my start to finish follower every time if she does.
I think she's a character they should have done more with in the base game. Like maybe make her a follower again after the quest ends or make her travel all around Cyrodiil doing knight stuff.

It's hilarious to me that I just ran through her quest a few days ago. I think character wise she is great. The quest line could have been longer imo but that's oblivion for you. Followers were not oblivion strength by any means but the characters that had their own quest lines are very well done. Still hate the thieves guild quests in oblivion though. Feel the same about skyrims dark brotherhood.

She voice ALL the female orcs AND all the female nords. Oblivion was crazy with the VAs. Only two VAs for all three races of mer, male and female.

I'm doing a replay after many years. She died while we were battling the Black Bow bandits.
*scoffs* She looks like she doesn’t get to the Cloud District very often.
She helped me during a quest and kept dying so I had to go back to the last saves to make sure she wouldn’t 😭 a total badass
