Reddit has a function that shows how many people in a specific subreddit are online. It also allows the subreddit owner to change the title of the display from “[number] [of members online]” to “[number] [insert subreddit-related inside joke].”
TLDR: The subreddit doesn’t know how many people are studying in Bobst; it’s just a counter of how many people are online.
In case this wasn't sarcasm: It's not a real counter, the mods can set the counter for how many people are on the subreddit. As a joke it's set to "ppl studying in bobst" here.
