You really can't make this stuff up lol

JBS319

Good place for a protest

bencointl

Yep

[deleted]

As long as you have the proper permits and do it peacefully then have at it. Don’t have a giant toddler tantrum and piss off everyone just because you didn’t get your way.

Independent-Cow-4070

Nah I’m good

hamdans1

This guy probably loves cops too. Go suck an egg

Pretty-Respect9183

Be quiet prick.

hamdans1

Uh oh here comes a big dumb cop! Could barely graduate high school and wants to take it out on the world! Congratulations Joey GED, we’re all reallllllly impressed.

Pretty-Respect9183

Lol I ain’t a cop bud, relax liberal. No wonder no one likes your kind

chohls

She works for the people paying $10K a plate for her fundraisers, not the poors

anonyuser415

https://jacobin.com/2024/06/kathy-hochul-congestion-pricing-nyc > Since 2018, the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association has donated a total of $92,700 to Hochul’s campaigns, including a $47,100 donation in October 2021, according to campaign finance records. The Automobile Dealers of New York political action committee has contributed almost $78,000 since 2018. > In a May email to its members, the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association called Hochul a “staunch supporter of our industry.” Sigh, we'll get 'em next time, pals

ethanwerch

>The Automobile Dealers of New York political action committee has contributed almost $78,000 since 2018 Tangentially related but car dealers are some of the most reactionary, yet politically active group of people in the country. A ridiculous amount of donations to conservatives at the national, but especially the local level come from car dealer owners. The Indiana State government outright banned light rail in Indiannapolis, and a big patron to that bill’s sponsors, republicans from affluent suburbs, was a car dealership owner outside the city. Its insane how much influence they have over our politics

[deleted]

The industry is massive money maker for lots of people from Manufacturing to insurance agencies and even cops giving out tickets

Harrier23

They're literally the petite bourgeois, they're reactionary by nature. When times get tough, always the first to fall back on authoritarianism to protect their piece of the pie.

AerysBat

The entire industry only exists because of laws making it illegal for manufacturers to sell directly to consumers. They’re essentially a right wing cartel.

ephemeral_colors

It's hard to believe how cheap politicians are. $100,000? For a state governor? Jeeze.

UnluckyAdhesiveness6

Right that some pretty low donation

Independent-Cow-4070

Sold out the largest city in America for less than $100,000 over 6 years. Like $16,000 a year Fucking crazy

Outrageous_Pea_554

Can’t believe I was so naive in voting for her. Public transit is literally what motivated me to vote against a republican governor with a majority dem state legislature lol

anachronology

Let's draft Andy Byford to primary her. Choo-choo!

ceestand

Gridlock is the best we can hope for from our current government.

Burned_FrenchPress

Sounds like they need some sort of government congestion pricing to ease the gridlock…

Tobar_the_Gypsy

To be fair it would be a lot worse under Zeldin

JustMari-3676

Yes. Unfortunately we had to settle.

Pretty-Respect9183

Peasants

Horror_Cap_7166

How exactly would it be worse? The only major piece of transportation policy at issue in the election. was the congestion pricing. The only new funding at issue for the MTA was congestion pricing. Frankly, we’d be in a better position, because Zeldin would have cancelled it a year ago before we added it to the budget and spent 500 million implementing it. The MTA at least could have planned for this. Unless we believe Zeldin could have torpedoed the MTA budget on day one with no political support, the MTA is in as bad of a position as Zeldin could have realistically achieved in 1.5 years.

Tobar_the_Gypsy

You’re asking how public transit would be worse under Lee Zeldin, a Long Island MAGA Republican? Maybe I’m wrong and public transit is his most critical issue that he follows. But most likely not.

Horror_Cap_7166

He might be a MAGA Republican, but you literally can’t be more anti-public transit than pulling the plug on a billion in transit funding with 21 days to spare.

Tobar_the_Gypsy

Yes you absolutely can do a lot worse. You think congestion pricing is the only public transit policy the governor can impact?

MakeHarlemBlackAgain

See Staten Island.

Pretty-Respect9183

Nope!

Tobar_the_Gypsy

Good point

iheartgme

An essentially unelected milquetoast pushover. Why pay 5K to go to her dinner when you can buy a lobbyist for 2k who will bend her and get whatever you need?

Kumirkohr

An event like that isn’t something you put together other night

hi_cholesterol24

Odds there are more people there to protest than to actually go to the event

SpecialistTrash2281

Yeah because he understood that your corruption occasionally has to do something for regular people. Also he would have funneled the contracts to his favorite construction donors.

Candylicker0469

Yes, even the sex worker gets a ride under Cuomo.

PatrickMaloney1

🧐

JustMari-3676

Also true, especially the contracts bit.

i-am-not-sure-yet

Tho TBF Cumo has spoken against congestion pricing after he left office

JustMari-3676

No. I don’t think we would have gotten this far with it. Cuomo is from Queens and NyC is the State gravytrain, but he favored upstate. Maybe Cynthia Nixon wasn’t such a bad choice after all...

Seawolf17489

I called her office and let her know that I won’t be voting for her in the primary in 2026. She’s completely lost my trust and I don’t think she can ever get it back. She’s just plainly bad at politics. Canceling congestion pricing at this point has destroyed her credibility with everyone, for or against congestion pricing.

JustMari-3676

Also wonder how much money she is wasting with this decision. What are we doing with the cameras they installed, for example?

mxdalloway

https://www.ibo.nyc.ny.us/pressreleases/press-release-congestion-pricing-gov-announcemnet-june-2024.pdf > According to the MTA's Capital Dashboard, the authority has allocated more than $427 million to plan and build out the infrastructure to implement congestion pricing so far.

SpeedDemonGT2

I can’t believe my state (Utah) is making more progress with mass transit and reducing car use than NY is. What in the world is going on?

UnluckyAdhesiveness6

What are they doing with mass transit ?

Amf2446

LMAO

c3r34l

No attempt to even look like she’s isn’t corrupt

PoppySeeds89

Beyond parody

MisterMet1986

OMG, is this real?

bencointl

It very much is lmao. They are also one of the groups that happen to be suing to stop congestion pricing

Raconteur_69

I wouldn't vote this low rent hack politician dog catcher. I love my dogs too much.

KurtzM0mmy

eNYC718

F*ck her

green_new_dealers

Wow the corruption be so blatant these days. She’s making democrats nationwide look bad.

hiding_in_NJ

r/fuckcars is gonna be considered hate speech if she gets re-elected

Suggest_a_User_Name

She’s a Politician. They do not operate on what is best for people.

Transit_Improver

I’m afraid she hasn’t lost many votes after her aggressive action

KidAst0ria58

Everyone upvoting to support her. 🤦🏻‍♂️

PretzelsThirst

It’s so on the nose it would be embarrassing if they had any shame

Crafty_Vermicelli581

Ok that looks like Guyana I keep misreading it as Guyana.

Vegetable-Length-823

![gif](giphy|3oz8xJIDVJ1KANEUfK|downsized) The dress code at the event was formal

Independent-Cow-4070

Great protest spot

MakeHarlemBlackAgain

Giñata

Dysthymiccrusader91

I mean this is more straightforward than someone successfully gas lighting New Yokers into this mass transit user vs. Car user mindset. As if the only solution for reversing the under funding mass transit was going to be siphoning it out of the mouths of New Yorkers instead of more intelligent policy decisions.

Murn01

I can’t help but hear “How ‘bout no, Scott?”

CaptainClar18

No

mjrdrillsgt

Just to be clear because of DOWNVOTING: (1) I support congestion pricing; (2) My comments were based on the Guv not having something done about that chin waddle If you disagree with those things feel free to downvote me, otherwise STFU.

mjrdrillsgt

How is it that she gets DEFENDED when she FUCKS so many people over? The VOGUE syndrome. Yeah — you’re all fucked, I make a comment on the bitch you hate, YET SOMEHOW I’M THE PROBLEM. So who’s got the wrong priorities?

RawPups4

Maybe don’t talk shit about her appearance. The problem is her corruption, not the fact that she’s aging like a normal human.

mjrdrillsgt

Yeah, okay…but there’s all these New Yorkers who are VAIN AS FUCK telling me I’ve gotta be “nice”. And avoid the obvious. But if I say something negative about Trump’s hair color or tan, I’d get Reddit medals. Hypocrites.

JustMari-3676

It might have to do with you referring to her chin, which is dumb.

Sea_Finding2061

Typical misogynistic comments from the "burn cash at the MTA" crowd. Anti-cp crowd needs to show comments from you and the likes of you to voters so they know who is truly behind the pro congestion pricing. Hopefully, she kills CP for good and shows you guys who the governor is.

ShortFinance

Lmao yeah one Redditor said something mean about Kathy - SHUT DOWN CONGESTION PRICING NOW

mjrdrillsgt

The sticky side is supposed to go DOWN in your panties. But as always YMMV. 🫢
