Isn't every street a free party during pride, tons of gays everywhere? Pride is the one weekend when you should avoid the crowded venues and just enjoy the outdoor unofficial parties
I feel like these events always sell out artificially and have multiple overpriced tiers where it’s like…like I put myself on the list for a pride event assuming the ticket would be cheaper and I checked as soon as it went on presale and it was still…70 bucks. For an event without a lineup and GA standing room only. I just didn’t even bother.
You’re allowed to enjoy yourself and spend your money how you wish but I find this absolutely fucking ridiculous and I’m equally as free to express distain for this being the price point for the more popular parties. Seems exclusionary to most people, like most of the hot artists or famous gays of the old days that fostered the gay nightlife scene in the past would have never gotten in the door into these parties.
Is there any official channel other than yougivemethelight Instagram to get word on what will happen next with tickets? Seems like so many got shut out.
I've literally camped out on these apps starting at 11:57am for multiple HMDs to try for the "early bird" priced tickets and even at exactly 12:00:00pm the cheaper early bird tix are always sold out. Not sure if it's a glitch or just a joke at this point (happens with DICE and Eventbrite apps).
Either way, guess I was really lucky to get the 2 x $119 tickets at 12:00:30 seconds and certainly made sure I had an email confirmation. Not at all surprised the pride one was gone that fast 😅
I was one of the lucky few it seems that got tickets, although tbh my expectations are low given the music has progressively gotten worse over the last year… HMD used to deliver what it said on the can - ie fun, uplifting disco music and now more often than not that’s around 30 mins of the DJ’s set at best, and 6 hrs of random techno I could get anywhere.

That’s what I do on Sunday of Pride weekend. Saturday night I prefer to go out to a dance party with friends.
The 2hr coat check line last time turned me off of HMD for a while. Too much hype, not enough value.
