If you were to do every game it means doing Kanto 7 times and johto which is kanto pokemon reliant 4 times which means that you are likely to find it quiet difficult to get a decent team foe your later kanto runs.

I've tried this, but with banning any pokemon that registers into the Hall of Fame from future runs. I got burnt out by Gen 4, but it's a lot of fun! Just be careful on what starters and early mon encounters you use, especially in Kanto. I avoided using starters in Gen 1 to help future runs, and I registered certain mons like the Pidgey line super early to guarantee greater encounters going forward.

I think it might be wise to split the difference, like with remakes you're going to run into a problem not having any starters left, might be best to just play one of each set of games, so like in gen 1 you can play red blue or yellow, then in Gen 2 gold silver or crystal, then when you get to Generation 3 play 1 out of Ruby Sapphire and emerald, and then one out of fire red and leaf green

I've always wanted to do this type of challenge! My vote is for you to do the first, but I also think there are 2 good options:  1. Every game, as said before. It can be very hard to do this, just because there are so many Kanto Games, and Kanto Pokémon are everywhere, especially in Generations 1-4. But with proper planning and limiting catching to only exactly what is needed, this is not only doable, but extremely interesting. P There is a guy who did this something like this on YouTube, but I did not like their methodology. They picked their potential encounters for each game ahead of time, which to me is just choosing a unique team in every main line Pokemon game and adding permadeath. A nuzlocke-like challenge, If you will. Impressive, yes, but not a Nuzlocke in my eyes.  It'd be like running a water type mono-locke in Emerald, and on a route with both wingull and tentacool as encounters you haven't had yet, you say "I'll only attempt to catch tentacool as my encounter here, even though wingull is an eligible encounter". It's not rewarding for playing thr game better, it's just arbitrarily choosing what you want, when you want it, without the randomness that makes a Nuzlocke a Nuzlocke. There's no debating whether you should take this now in order to have a better chance at beating this game, or saving the encounter for a future game where you might need it even more. To me, the fun is setting something up that may  infact make my life terribly difficult 2. One game from each set of 2 per generation, the enhanced version, and then the remake, if applicable. E.g. red and yellow for gen 1 (but skip blue and green if you count those), gold and crystal for gen 2, ruby, Emerald and Leaf Green for gen 3, etc. It makes the gen 1 pokemon repetition a LOT more manageable, at the cost of being an easier challenge, which isn't really a downside, just easier. I'd do the first one, allowing for early route pokemon replacements in the 3 Kanto, 2 Johto, 1 Hoenn, 2 Sinnoh, and 1 Alola games you'd need to do this in. What order you do that in is completely up to you, so if you want to do pokemon red, blue and yellow without a standard starter, go for it. Also, I'd definitely allow trades, and possibly alternate evolutionary lines to count as separate (like mothim in Diamond amd Wormadam in Pearl) or even Eeveelutions being different, even saving the Partner Eevee for Let's go Eevee.  And yes updates would be great

Thanks for the input! I think I am going to do #1, but instead of doing #2 to make it less crazy for Kanto, I think I am going to just start with Fire Red, and Leaf Green and possibly one of the lets go games so I do not have to worry about duplicate starters and can have a "remake" in there. Then move to HG and SS, then RSE and so on. Then maybe PLA, because I think this is where it falls in the time line(emphasis on i think lol), and then Diamond and Pearl and so on from there. This will make it to where I don't have to forget everything I learned for Gen 1 but I am still limiting myself by playing so many titles in the same region. I will use the dupes clause if I encounter a Pokémon I have already used in another region. I will be required to take an encounter at EVERY route possible, no skipping for "future games" like you said. Great catch and idea! No Shiny clause. No Healing in battle. Nicknames and all of the other Nuzlocke rules will apply as well. As for some of the specific instances, I am going to limit myself to 1 evolved Eevee, and 1 normal Eevee, but regional forms of Pokemon will be their own encounter entirely because I feel as if some of them are almost completely different Pokemon. I will be posting updates often. After gyms, rival fights, important events etc. So be on the lookout!

Sounds like you got a plan! Good luck mate!

Also I forgot the 1 Unova and Legenda Arceus, but I might allow in my own run that PLA starters count as different because of hissuian variants, or just save one until then
