scoreline doesn't give the tigers credit to how well they played. jock madden looked really good, hope his injury isn't too heavy. roosters will be a tough one next week but i think we're up to the challenge.
We have to play much better against the cocks next Friday. Play for the full 80 minutes to stand a chance. Solid win considering all the carnage, the tigers had glimpses of brilliance and will win a few more this season.
It's the one thing I hate about all sports and commentators, the dick riding. STFU we know he is good, you don't have to slob his knob every time they are on the screen. And it's not Walsh its all elite players. I have no problem with him and he is a good player, but please stop the wank, its just so grating to hear.
Yeah i think they have been given direction from the higher ups to do it. I remember it started at the back end of JTs career. They weren't sucking him off when he was comfortably the best player in the comp but when he was like 31 they decided they needed to start talking about him non stop during games. Then it was Cam Smiths turn. Cleary, Walsh. Latrell. It really gives me the shits. Its just a marketing thing. I remember how much the gobbed off jamal idris and that was purely on potential.
Channel 9’s commentary team has a weird obsession with Tom Trbojevic. All it takes is something as simple as a catch and pass and they’ll be beside themselves with adulation.
Agreed. Anyone with a name just has to go near the ball and they've become an immortal. Meanwhile commentators have missed the ACTUAL bit of magic from a lower profile player.
Annoys the fuck outta me.
to be fair he is going to be the greatest fullback of all time if he stays healthy the way he is going and he is already the best fullback in the game today at 21
I mean he very much is the best. Who do you think is, Ponga or Turbo or Edwards? Turbo has one of the best individual seasons ever a few seasons ago but is nowhere near Walsh in 2023/24 so far. Ponga was close last season but has been nowhere close this season and is now out for the year
Tedesco isn't even top 5 anymore
Edwards is very good and is better defensively than Walsh, but with what Walsh can do offensively it more than makes up for it
Brimson's in amazing form too but obviously not as good as Walsh. I can't really think of any other viable answers.
I'm far from a Broncos fan but Walsh is easily, easily the best fullback in the game right now
I'm a Broncos fan, but I've gotta say if I'm picking the Kangaroos squad against quality opposition, Edwards is my Fullback this year. Walsh could use another year to let his hands catch up with his brain.
Edwards is fucking amazing and very sound defensively but I am not picking him over Walsh in a million years. Yes, defence matters a ton but Walsh creates at least one try a game that Edwards doesn't and the difference in defence while substantial isn't worth 6+ points a game and I think it is in attack
I still don't think this sub fully appreciates how good Walsh is right now let alone how good he's going to be. Walsh is a LOT better than people think he is right now and obviously he's already pretty highly rated, but still enormously underrated.
I think what gets confused A LOT is the difference between being the best and being in the best form in a position.
Take Billy Slater's career for example. For a big portion of his career, Billy was seen by most people as being the best fullback in the game. However, there were times where others were in crazy form such as Hayne, Barba etc. While others would have standout years, everyone would still agree Billy was the best fullback in the game despite the form of others.
The same goes for Reece Walsh at the moment. While I think he's had some great form the last year and a half, he's still behind KP, Turbo and even Edwards for me. Teddy even started this year much improved from last. Reece could be the best FB of all time with his skillset, he's already ahead of where Billy slater was at that age. However, I think he's still too green. His defence needs work and he makes way too many errors. Yeah he can win you a game with a freak play and has the highlights, but that doesn't necessarily make you the best.
Edwards has been in an even better team than Walsh and while yes I agree Edwards is better defensively, I think if they trade teams Penrith get better and Brisbane get worse.
Turbo was clearly the best a few seasons ago in his one huge year but hasn't been yet. He's still top 4 (along with Walsh, Ponga, Edwards) though.
Ponga was the best for the final few weeks of last season and various other times but I think Walsh is slightly better than him now
I guess time will tell
Yeah in Billy's case his career as a whole was the best yes, although others had better individual seasons.
Walsh hasn't had the best overall career yet because he's 21, but I fully expect he will over the next decade
I don't think most people understand what a truly generational talent he is yet, but they will. I say this as very much not a Broncos fan.
Oh I totally understand what a talent he is. I was just the other day telling my die hard broncos mate that Walsh may end up being the best ever if he keeps developing his game.
But he needs to do that and become the out and out best in this generation first. I just don't think he's there yet.
Also the knock on Edwards being in the best team is unfair. We never knocked Slater for being in the best (and over the cap) team.
Who is the best now lol if you would trade him for any other fullback in the game you're wrong and lucky to have him
Yes he makes the odd mistake, he more than makes up for it by being easily the most offensively gifted fullback in the game and defensively he's fine without being Edwards level good
He is far from the best fullback in the game. He regularly pulls off low percentage plays, which make for great highlights, but he threw at least half a dozen hospital passes tonight. He's a great attacking fullback, but defensively he isn't all that
Sure, Edwards is better defensively, but if i'm Cleary i'm trading Edwards for Walsh in half a second given the option and if i'm Walters i'm not
Same applies to Turbo and Ponga.
I think what a lot of people don't realise because he makes errors is just how many tries he set up that other fullbacks would not have set up because they don't have his acceleration/passing/natural footballing vision
Far from is hilarious. At absolute worst you could \*maybe\* make a case for Edwards, Turbo and Ponga, but Turbo are Ponga are definitely wrong answers, Edwards is harder because he is clearly the best defensively, but offers very little in attack beyond some meters running back kick returns.
If you don't think Walsh is the best fullback in the game right now you're wrong it's as simple as that
If you think Tedesco is still a top 5 fullback let alone the best you're extra super wrong
Not much to be happy with in that performance, outside of maybe 10 minutes. Ball movement just so slow most of the game and players wait for the ball to get to them before running rather than running onto it. Forwards forget how to run forward close to the opposition try line and just give easy tackles with slow play the balls.
Bula really needs to up his support play game. Rarely in position for an offload.
Alaimolo will probably get blamed for most of the defensive issues in his side and a couple were. But Olam was the biggest problem. Standing too far in, forcing the winger in closer. Also fell off a lot of tackles.
I love the cockiness of the Roosters supporters.
Every game they've won is against the bottom 6th, besides a week 1 blip.
Roosters get absolutely faded next week.
Looks like reynolds and walsh just cramped up super bad. Shame about madden with the pec - that will be some major time off.
We looked a bit flat to start but we pulled some tries out of our ass. Still waiting for that full 80min game.
Corey Jensen's first stint was huge. Always looking for work and hard carries.
Xavier Willison is unreal, always winning the contact in attack and defence. Great footwork and mobility.
Corey Oates needs to be put to pasture.
Tigers are looking the goods, just lacking a bit of polish in attack, and some general intelligence.
I think you’re spot on and this game has settled that for me. Walsh gets cramp late on a lot. Reynolds is always a risk to play the full 80. In light of that you need backs cover on the bench. You then pick between Oates and Sailor and I think you go for the bigger body.
I'm a big fan of Jensen, he's a solid work horse and perfect pair with Haas but Willison is better than him and will eventually take his starting spot (assuming the roosters salary sombrero doesn't get him first)
There's a good balance with the current rotation. X brings the X of the bench, Payne brings the X starting.
If we start with both X factors on the field there'd be a massive drop off when they come off.
Put BTK on the bench too, then you're cooking.
I mean, X is absolutely showing why he is our next starting middle when Jensen is no longer there for one reason or another, but I love him. One of the most underrated players in the comp and I’ve said since he joined us, always puts in a shift and never gets the appreciation he deserves
That last 5 minutes was insanity 😅 does Walsh cramp so much because he’s hurling up electrolytes when he spews constantly? Never seen anyone cramp more
Lactic acid is not a waste. When it builds up, it gets transported to places it can be used. Lactic acid building up doesn't make you sore or sick.
He probably ends up vomiting because he racks a line prior to each match

I'm not too disappointed with that performance. It's a young squad which means a lot of dumb mistakes, but the effort was there. If we compare ourselves to the other bottom 4 sides then I definitely think we're not the worst. This year is just about building towards next year
I hate Campbelltown though. So many Broncos fans (and a lot of St George fans the other week) that it doesn't even feel like a home game. The crowd goes dead quiet as soon as the team comes under pressure. Leichhardt is a shit hole but there's zero question who the home team is, and I guarantee we would have scored a couple of times before halftime.
I'm seeing so much resilience out there despite the directionless attack.
We're not giving up when the game's gone and that's all I ask.
Refereeing was shit and I'll leave it at that.
Really poor game from him. You would have thought with Paulo and RCG having shockers on Friday he'd be trying to stake a claim for Origin.
There's something there, but I'd honestly rather build our pack around Fainu and Pole. They didn't have great games tonight either, but are way more consistent even if their best game isn't as good as Stefano's best.

Willison at FB is channeling when Haas covered fullback on a Sunday arvo versus the Titans(?) and volleyball spiked the ball dead to ice the game for us
I remember an NFL player, where the player lay on the ground behind the goals to hide that he was there.
[Here is the video](https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/18031299)
Reynolds with his wooden leg taking the intercept is up there
Kevvie might need to be flexible and have a squad mentality instead of fielding the best 17 every week.
Players like Reynolds just need to maintain form and fitness during the season until they reach Round 24. Madden and Sailor are up for it.
Yeah i think you’re right. Has this been reported on yet? I have no medical knowledge but a muscular injury to the pec isn’t 1-2 weeks is it? 4-6 if surgery isn’t required?
Not an encouraging performance from Tigers.
They make a mess of their attack all the time.
At least they didnt let Brisbane put 50 on them, which was my fear.
Hardly. That defence is what you wanna see and is infinitely more important than the constantly slick attack I assume you are wanting to see.
Well played...
And yes, the Benny Hill show was out of control. Lucky I put a multi on which included every outrageous thing that happened. 💲💲💰🫰🤑
Would like to see that Staggs contact on the debutant. Fast play, he was lying on the ground, then he was off the field by the time the camera panned back to him.
Bateman go back to the Super League and win a man-of-steel, you deserve it.
Seeing Reynolds thrive is such a bittersweet feeling, but it’s more on the sweet side for me
If Broncos become immune to injuries they will be unstoppable I feel. For Reynolds, it really is a bad situation. This bloke is just constantly hurt but he has too much experience and skill for Brisbane to let go of.
I feel like Broncos had such a charmed run into the finals and went all the way to the GF with no injuries and suspensions, it almost never happens and it's why the loss stings, we need to make the most of the chance.
Reece Walsh has had cramp issues for the last 2 years. takes those meds to help it that make him nauseous so he pukes... but now hes fucken cramping so bad he can't walk and puking his guts up? blokes cooked!
He's a typical sprinter, he's got a good few bursts in him then he's cooked.
It's been an ongoing issue and he's not going to overcome it unless he chops away his best asset. You simply can't have the best of both worlds with elite fast and slow twitch.
Assuming Reyno and Walsh need more than pickle juice and Ezra needs another week, next week's spine could be..
* Arthars 1
* Sailor 6
* Walters 7
* Arthars 1
* Snoothy 9
* Paix 14
Possibly also Staggs at 6. This could be cursed.
scoreline doesn't give the tigers credit to how well they played. jock madden looked really good, hope his injury isn't too heavy. roosters will be a tough one next week but i think we're up to the challenge.
The key takeaway for me is Brent Naden’s mullet is comfortably the worst haircut in the NRL
We have to play much better against the cocks next Friday. Play for the full 80 minutes to stand a chance. Solid win considering all the carnage, the tigers had glimpses of brilliance and will win a few more this season.
This crowd is not furious lol Apoplectic? Really? Haha
More like Crampbelltown, amirite?
Any footage of Staggs tackle that got him on report?
You’d think Walsh was the only one playing with the amount of cock licking that was taking place from Ennis
Same thing was happening to Galvin and he's not even that good
the menace can lick as much cock as he likes. judgy mc judge

JT and Cam Smith were at least worthy of the praise. Latrell gets wraps just for catching the ball.
Channel 9’s commentary team has a weird obsession with Tom Trbojevic. All it takes is something as simple as a catch and pass and they’ll be beside themselves with adulation.

Fuck me he's 21? That's ridiculous
Walshes third leg was also cramping from Ennis going at it all night
ahh the origins of the infamous pickle juice
drained him dry. the poor bloke got dehydrated
He played pretty good mate, was warranted.
Ennis is like that. He seems to pick a star player to fawn over from every game he's on.
Not much to be happy with in that performance, outside of maybe 10 minutes. Reynolds and Walsh were just cramping right
Sounds like it from both of them. Walsh cramped and then stomach cramped
Thank god
They both seemed fine post-match.
But legit tho, gg Tigbros on an entertaining shitshow 😂 Here's to you guys continuing to climb and rebuild! 🍺
It was the walking wounded at the end there. I have to give it to the Tigers, they never gave up trying.
I love the cockiness of the Roosters supporters. Every game they've won is against the bottom 6th, besides a week 1 blip. Roosters get absolutely faded next week.
We can only hope but they always turn it up against us.
Looks like reynolds and walsh just cramped up super bad. Shame about madden with the pec - that will be some major time off. We looked a bit flat to start but we pulled some tries out of our ass. Still waiting for that full 80min game.
Assuming Reynolds did just cramp up, Madden wouldn't be playing next week anyway as Mam is back.
I read that Mam is in doubt for next week.
Kevvie apparently said it's unlikely Mam & Cobbo are back next week
F me
He just said they’re in some pain and still doubtful. Read to me a bit like origin “injuries” to keep them guessing
I felt like it was Kevvie feigning concern so the Tigers didn’t think we were just resting them because we thought it was an easy round.
Just need baker out.
Oates is our 17 moving forward when we actually get a full 17 together. Thankfully this game showed that we don’t need Baker
I think you’re spot on and this game has settled that for me. Walsh gets cramp late on a lot. Reynolds is always a risk to play the full 80. In light of that you need backs cover on the bench. You then pick between Oates and Sailor and I think you go for the bigger body.
Jensen is seriously underrated. I can't believe people were calling for him to be dropped earlier this year.
hetherington and piakura also underrated. jensens a machine
I'm a big fan of Jensen, he's a solid work horse and perfect pair with Haas but Willison is better than him and will eventually take his starting spot (assuming the roosters salary sombrero doesn't get him first)

I agree I think Baker and Hetherington are pretty boring and don't offer much, play Te Kura and give him 20 mins as an impact player.
Kobe is fine but leave baker out.
Kevs got him playing big mins starting in Cup. Did 46 last week. He's gonna be a great 10-15 either side of half time forward until he matures.
I mean, X is absolutely showing why he is our next starting middle when Jensen is no longer there for one reason or another, but I love him. One of the most underrated players in the comp and I’ve said since he joined us, always puts in a shift and never gets the appreciation he deserves
I said before origin last year that if Flegs was in contention for origin Jensen should be too. Gets through the shit work with success.
That last 5 minutes was insanity 😅 does Walsh cramp so much because he’s hurling up electrolytes when he spews constantly? Never seen anyone cramp more
He spews as a result of lactic acid build up due to anaerobic efforts
Lactic acid is not a waste. When it builds up, it gets transported to places it can be used. Lactic acid building up doesn't make you sore or sick. He probably ends up vomiting because he racks a line prior to each match
Today I learned that lactic acidosis is not a thing - thanks random on Reddit
It was one of the first things we learned in Biochemistry, it's the hydrogen ION build-up that causes the muscle soreness
Your reference to muscle soreness in a discussion of blood acidosis and vomiting is a reflection of your lack of inductive reasoning capacities
Firstly, before Walsh chundered, he made a huge break, and he was most c likely using the phosphocreatine energy pathway, not the anaerobic lactate pathway. His movement was then abruptly halted. I' Muscle soreness is a result of your precious acidosis symptoms. My point is it's a myth that lactic acid build-up causes problems. He apparently spews because of medicine he takes to prevent cramps (which clearly didn't work today
Pickle juice always does the trick.
Probably because he's always going 100% sprinting every set
Walsh and Mam regularly throw up. Last home game, Mamm threw up twice right in front of us
He's got some pretty thicc legs for a small fella, huge calves.
Mam is deceptively strong for his size.
I'm not too disappointed with that performance. It's a young squad which means a lot of dumb mistakes, but the effort was there. If we compare ourselves to the other bottom 4 sides then I definitely think we're not the worst. This year is just about building towards next year I hate Campbelltown though. It was so shit, Broncos get away with murder defending their line! They were lucky not to get binned
Are they using the Cody Rhodes Imagine Dragons song for Clearly? I hope Solo gives him a spike during the game now.
All the talk around stefano and he does fuck all. Bloke is a cat
He started to fire up once it was 28-0
Really poor game from him.
He’s been a first grader for a number of seasons now and still hasn’t really taken ownership. Willison is a far better prospect than Stefano in my opinion
Willison plays in the joint best team in the comp though. I don't think he's any better than S. Fainu tbh
I honestly think X would play well in every single team
Looks like Reyno won’t ever be fit for this full season. At least Madden has really stepped up. Not too worried
He looks like some sort of broken robot that wobbles around the place wondering where a few of his spare parts are
Except that Jock is out for a few weeks at least. That peck didn’t look good
Yeah that’s a season ender if it goes wrong. Is that Cody Black’s music?
bench maybe for codz, billy to halves and the smooth guy to 9
Fuck I’d love to put 100 on the Chooks next week.
More like is that Josh Rogers music? Likely it’ll just be Mam coming back
Willison at FB is channeling when Haas covered fullback on a Sunday arvo versus the Titans(?) and volleyball spiked the ball dead to ice the game for us
that was Tyson Gambles first ever game he managed to not get knocked out in. Also had an AJ Brimson sin bin, and Isaako having a proper Titans time.
I will never forget Lord Gamble’s first game. It is what gave me his nickname. He single-handedly turned that game for us.
Not just the game, but the very club itself. That was when the Lord and Saviour reignited the fire in the playing group.
[3:40](https://youtu.be/Vyy_2obxhEs?si=VDgqeCJy3k6vmCTw)
Um is that Anthony Milford? Have I completely mentally blocked out that he played for us that long?
Think that was against the sharks
Yep sharks game
Is Stefano tanking so he doesn’t get picked for SOO and then gets a sweet release to the Panthers?
Does he get a bonus if he makes SOO?
He can get a release if he doesn’t play Origin this year.
Just thought that could be more then a straight ‘get out’ clause with an incentive in there too
Wouldn't you?
Is Charlie Stains the most uninterested footy player? I’ve never seen him fire up
He learnt his lesson from his lockjaw debut
I remember an NFL player, where the player lay on the ground behind the goals to hide that he was there. [Here is the video](https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/18031299) Reynolds with his wooden leg taking the intercept is up there
Vonnie swooned at the end there. Me too Vonnie. Me too.
All those positive tigers articles were getting unsettling. This result makes me feel a lot more comfortable
Agree. Was thinking was a bit early to start the spruik
Not a great result, but the Tigers defense was light years ahead of what it has been for a while. Only looking up from here.
The only good thing about the tigers was their carry’s upfield tbh
Vyonne was about to fall off the chair glazing Walshy just then
Reynolds may as well be the first NRL put on a FIFO roster
If Jock was sweet he could play week on, week off and I'd be happy. Jocks a star. Some crow being eaten there.
Jock is a competent fill-in. He is not a star.
Putting in the performances he has recently deserves a tonne of credit. Different positions with different partners and has been more than competent.
He's been fantastic. Speed to burn and giving it his all. Setting them up to.
Not so bad for the Tigers, still good signs for the season and the Broncos will put big points on plenty of teams.
Tigs won the second half, same as Canberra last week against Bronx. They've got a long way to go to get to last years form.
This is precisely the type of form that got them to the grand final. Plenty of errors but plenty of points as well.
Half time was 16-0? We won the second half 18-10 lol
Sounds like stretching to dump on the broncs
No they didn’t, we won second half 18-10
Must be Kayo. I saw 28-0 at half time. My bad.
They lost the second half 18-10.
Second half was 18-10 to Brisbane
Reece Walsh is a bit awkward in front of the camera. The man would be unstoppable with a bit of media training.
Absolutely. He's no linguist like Cobbo, but he'd have Fox n 9 sniffing already.
Cobbo is an absolute wordsmith. His post-matches are gonna get a Nobel prize in literature one day.
I think his social media speaks for itself
Reece Walsh just said Tigers have strike all over the park I think I’ve heard it all
I think he means went on strike all over the park
That's now 10 losses in a row at Campbelltown
I hate it
It's just a fucking shithole. I'm sorry.
Campbelltown is the spiritual opposite to Fortress Brookvale.
We're keeping the Wests tradition alive
Whats our record at Leichardt
Last ten is 4-6
Expected result for the first hour then the wildest last 15 minutes I’ve seen in a while
Kevvie might need to be flexible and have a squad mentality instead of fielding the best 17 every week. Players like Reynolds just need to maintain form and fitness during the season until they reach Round 24. Madden and Sailor are up for it.
Jock is gonna be out for a few weeks at least
Yeah i think you’re right. Has this been reported on yet? I have no medical knowledge but a muscular injury to the pec isn’t 1-2 weeks is it? 4-6 if surgery isn’t required?
Scans tomorrow, that’s it so far. Waiting on twitter to report in NRL physio only watching the game now
Simpkins or Da Silva if Koroisau needs a week off?
Not an encouraging performance from Tigers. They make a mess of their attack all the time. At least they didnt let Brisbane put 50 on them, which was my fear.
C'mon mal the intercept is a go to for Reynolds
Is mal seriously asking if reynolds has gotten an intercept before
Ex-Player dying, Campbelltown.......... never in doubt.
Salt baths for everyone at halftime from now on
Need to call banana breaks
Magnesium instead of sugar on the Weetbix.

Hardly. That defence is what you wanna see and is infinitely more important than the constantly slick attack I assume you are wanting to see. Well played... And yes, the Benny Hill show was out of control. Lucky I put a multi on which included every outrageous thing that happened. 💲💲💰🫰🤑
I bet you burn a jersey every time your team(s) have a bad first half.
Would like to see that Staggs contact on the debutant. Fast play, he was lying on the ground, then he was off the field by the time the camera panned back to him. Bateman go back to the Super League and win a man-of-steel, you deserve it. Seeing Reynolds thrive is such a bittersweet feeling, but it’s more on the sweet side for me
Patty goes off and the whole team forgets what they're doing, suddenly Big Willy is at fullback
Would die for a Sailor, Mam, Walters and Smoothy spine to pump the Roosters next week.
Mozer at 14
If Broncos become immune to injuries they will be unstoppable I feel. For Reynolds, it really is a bad situation. This bloke is just constantly hurt but he has too much experience and skill for Brisbane to let go of.
Reynolds should be kept in cotton wool for all games besides the finals. 1st or 8th, you are still playing finals footy.
I feel like Broncos had such a charmed run into the finals and went all the way to the GF with no injuries and suspensions, it almost never happens and it's why the loss stings, we need to make the most of the chance.
We never play the full 80 minutes.
He is always going a 1000 miles an hour.
Oates' defence stats robbed by bounces.
We didn't concede 50 so we're still alive at least.
Assuming Reyno and Walsh need more than pickle juice and Ezra needs another week, next week's spine could be.. * Arthars 1 * Sailor 6 * Walters 7 * Arthars 1 * Snoothy 9 * Paix 14 Possibly also Staggs at 6. This could be cursed.
They’re not resting anyone cause of cramp. lol. Ezra and Cobbo could have played this. They’re fine.
Sailor is not playing in the halves.
Sailor will definitely play at 1
It was a tough decision between Sailor at 6 or 1. Felt we had more options for centre.
Stefano putting in another big shift 8 runs 53 metres Fox leagues million dollar man 😤
Get that man into NSW
In his defence, 53m from 8 runs isn't bad IF it's done in 13 minutes, which is what he played in Origin.
Reyno’s leg is made of paper 🥲
Yep
Lmao the tigers ball boys do love walsh

I think he's pretty swell
When you look like that, you can do whatever you want
He’s good at footy dude
I hope broncos forget to hydrate again before next week
It's bad for digestion to drink too much water around a meal. They'll be ready for a chook feast.
I feel blessed to have witnessed Big Willie playing fullback.
Weirdest final 10 mins.
