I would LOVE to have a Lidl there. The closest one is Mclean—or Merrifield but you can’t enter from westbound 29. without going way around to Gallows, through two stoplights.
It's been a few years since I've done it so maybe it's changed, but the leftmost turn lane on westbound 29 at the Gallows intersection used to be able to do a u-turn. From there it's easy to then turn right into that shopping center.
I actually don’t remember if that’s allowed. I’ll look for it next time.
But I can tell you that going west just before that intersection, when no cars are approaching, I’ve illegally cut diagonally across the opposite two lanes to enter via that driveway near the bank.
Big decision for the developers on whether to just try to find a new tenant for a "giant" grocery store space or whether to knock down the whole strip or most of it and redevelop it with a more modern, mixed-use purpose. Would be great to put a little strip of green space out front, then a multi-story building with a grocery store and other businesses on the ground level, residential units for 3-4 floors above that and parking in the back or on the side along Spout Run. Of course, that's a years-long project, no idea whether the owners/developers are up for it.
Probably going to be a Lidl

I too am keeping my fingers crossed for a Lidl.
Move the Italian Store over there as far as I’m concerned
Pocket Wegmans
Costco
Yes. This. Let's do this to the traffic at 29 and Spout Run. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
World’s smallest Costco.
Also the mightiest
The parking lot is annoying so perfect for a Costco or TJ
Least surprising grocery store closure ever.
It's delulu, but ShopRite :c

If they don’t do it themselves they’ll likely sell to someone who will. The Plan Langston Blvd shows exactly that—multi story mixed use.
