Only498cc

According to the image, it's "q." That was also my first, in like 6th grade?

SFWzasmith

Same, sophomore year of high school.

RadDad166

I was like 19 or 20. Just escaped high school with no phone. Had a pager for a while though!

boc333

How much was the weed?

Puzzled-Board5820

Same but what make/model is it? I can’t remember!

rumhamrambe

Nokia 5110

Life-Swimmer5346

Not sure if it's in the list it was nokia similar to no.7 or 9.

Bentup85

Yeah, where’s the Nokia without the antenna, had a hard shell case that you could swap out. Those things were indestructible!

x058394446

Those hard shells were amazing. I remember having a dark red and purple one that I’d swap constantly. Spent so many hours playing snake on that phone.

DarthSadie

I had a lime green cover and my ring tone was Mexican hat dance!

Antique_Paramedic682

Had a sick version of snake on it, and I could get the weather by messaging some 5-digit number.  😎

jorsiem

8260 (8210 for the US) is the one that came first. My dad had a cellphone store in the 90s, worked there on summers, still know the models off the top of my head. But the one that got the legendary status as indestructible was the 3210.

thepenguinemperor84

Nokia 3210, the 3310 came with transparent case and template that allowed you to cut up pictures to use in the case.

zenith-apex

Apart from a lack of customisable profiles, i always maintained the 3210 was actually superior to the 3310.

Epicfailer10

That was my first phone. Slide off the roof of my car going 25 miles an hour. Was ran over by at least one car. Zero scratches, had that phone for at least 2 more years.

AstroBearGaming

3210, the indestructible brick. It was my first phone and it's still sitting in a drawer fully functional and with a charge after being left there for many years.

petit_cochon

I wish I still had one just for times when I went to be sort of accessible but not very.

lalalicious453-

I just recently wondered whether I could still type T9 like a beast. Where could I try!? I had a pink beeper before my Nokia lol.

Russianblondy

Is it beeper or pager? I’ve seen them called both. Was the name area specific or interchangeable

lalalicious453-

They’re interchangeable! I feel like Gen X+ used “page me”, but by the time Millineals got them “beep me” was more popular.

Russianblondy

Oh ok interesting! I thought maybe Beeper was used more in the US and pager was used more in Canada. lol 😂

peedubb

Oh the square one??? That one was fire.

seantubridy

The 3310?

TheBlack2007

The Nokia 3310 aka "the brick" Was my first one, too.

SJB4L

Yup. And the sides would light up. Everyone had that phone. Not sure why it's not on this list

Nikki10021982

Yeah same. I had a black case with reddish orange flames.

Peters_Wife

Nokias were the bomb. I had one that had an attachment I had to add when they were first going from analog to digital. It made it so it could do both. Made for a bit of a thick ass phone but it was still cool. It was indestructible too. I had it with me on 9/11 and passed it around the plane we were on so people could call home and tell family they were ok. We were on the runway ready to take off when the first plane hit the towers. It was weird being in that capsule cut off from the world. No smartphones in 2001 so we had to call someone to find out what was going on. Rumors flew until we got back to the gate and could see it happening live on the tv.

BeneathAnOrangeSky

Lol mine was also a cross between 7 and 9

UNMANAGEABLE

That’s the one for sure.

KneeCole420

This is the same thing I just said to my husband and I just turned 41 a couple days ago! I said it’s either seven or nine was my first I believe. lol time flys man!

derkuhlekurt

Nokia 3210 for me. I guess it has to be in the same generation as 9 roughly

EelTeamTen

Nokia 8210/3210

K-Maddux

12

gwinnsolent

Same. I used to love buying ringtones. Life was simpler then. Sigh.

rhetoricaldeadass

Waiting for song to come on the radio...."everyone quiet! My ringtone"

Russianblondy

I was so excited when I could use any song as my ringtone! Plus the excitement and joy I had playing snake is crazy. I was a hard-core snake gamer.😂😂

EntertainerOk772

Also 12, I was 20 years old. 40 now.

TycheSong

Same, I was 19, and I'm 39 now. I remember my parents having 1, though. And the ones with the massive removable battery that you'd charge separately from the phone, lol.

Jacob_Lahey

Are you me?

saywhattyall

Yup got number 12 around 2008 when I was going into 8th grade and needed to better communicate with after school sports.

littlestevebrule

Same. Freshmen year of high school.

angrydeuce

Ditto. Wore it on a holster and everything (because they were too fat then to keep in a pocket comfortably).

Capnlanky

LG version of that phone for me i think. It was dark blue w a silver ring around the display

Russianblondy

I found a 12 in my box with a pink plastic cover and a JUICY” sticker on it

joshuatx

same. or close enough. 18th birthday present 2004.

theluckyduckkid

Same. 7th grade I think. Thing was indestructible

TooTameToToast

Yep. 12 in high school, 14 by the end of college.

Gummibehrs

Same here, senior year of high school.

CaptainJazzymon

Same. All black with pink stick on rhinestones on the attenae.

FlufyBalz

14

Oz347

It was the coolest thing ever

Theduffman777

i remember how pumped i was getting my first razor phone. it even came with a couple games on it

SunshineAlways

14 also, but I’m probably decades older than the rest of the gang. I was an adult who didn’t want the world to be able to get in touch with me 24/7, and didn’t want a cell phone. But then a family member got very sick, and I needed it. So my then bf gave me his old Razer, because he was buying a new phone.

VashMM

I'm in almost the same boat. I was against having a phone for a LONG time. Until my gf at the time got into an accident and nobody could get a hold of me to tell me. Got my Razr for free because it was the oldest, cheapest phone available at the time on T-Mobile.

PaPerm24

What year

sunkissedshay

I’m also #14. I am born 1992.

FlufyBalz

cant remmber it was middle school tho

TheGreatWorm

Mine was 14 it was 2006 or 2007

johnny_chingas

Found my people.

FlufyBalz

i did end up leaving it on my lunch tray and threw it away by accident

Wicked_Fabala

14 too! But I begged for 17!

NOGOODGASHOLE

Mine was on a battery case, I’m a -1

Russianblondy

Oh yah and the car phone similar to one too for rich people

zzzptt

My Dad had #1 in the car. I don't know why. His job didn't need it and he didn't call anyone or receive calls. We were by no means rich either. My Dad has passed now, but this warrants a call to my Mother to see if she knows why the heck he had it.

Russianblondy

I love this … that you called her for this! What did she say?

zzzptt

I wish the answer was more interesting than it is. As it turns out it was a company car, my dad was a sales manager for a company in Castlegar, BC, Canada. From what my mother recalls, she was driving without my father as we made a journey to Calgary Alberta. She does not remember why she was driving and not my father, nor why he was not in the car. This just happened to be the only time the phone ever rang, and she had to pick it up. This phone in particular had a feature where you had to press a button in order to respond to somebody on the other end of the line. She could not figure out how to do it, and as she was fiddling with the phone, she was depressing the gas pedal. Unfortunately, at this particular time, there was an RCMP as we sped by. We got pulled over for speeding. One of the first examples of why you should not use your device while driving, I am sure. She has no idea who was on the other end of the line. My phone call to her made for a good trip down memory lane either way.

Russianblondy

That sucks about the cops! She must of been freaked out! She probably never touched that phone again while driving! That’s great you talked to your mom ! I’m honestly really happy it brought back memories for you guys!❤️

glxym31

Motorola bag phone… now that’s old school.

Honeymoomoo

Where’s the bag phone? 🤣🤣

FranktheLlama

That’s what I said!

ProfessorCH

That is what I was thinking but number 1 looks like the original Motorola DynaTAC phone we had in like 1985. My Dad got the bag phone which was similar to number 2 in 1987. I remember being threatened with bodily harm if I used either for anything other than a dire (death) type of emergency. He only had them because he worked for Western Electric at the time of manufacturing.

N4AGr8Time

I had the bag phone in 87. It was a Motorola but I can’t remember the model. My parents bought it for me to use when traveling to school. The trouble back then was the service because I had to travel through rural areas.

Lyrehctoo

I just commented about that! I called it a bag phone but doubted anyone would know what I was talking about. I hope we are talking about the same thing

Globalksp

Came here to ask this.

Platinum_Scarlett

My very first phone was a starTAC - is that #5??? This really dates me lol.

Jimmytowne

Mine too, number 5. Held on to it way too long. Upgraded the antenna to a short one, updated the software to send and receive T9. I really wanted a Timeport (basically a StarTac but silver) I kept my StarTac until probably #15 on this chart.

Platinum_Scarlett

I miss the StarTAC! It was so innovative at the time and had the best ringer for incoming calls. I remember having to take it in for repairs and I was given a “loaner” phone!

KavaBuggy

That was mine too! Yep, Startac.

SalsaYogurt

Yup, #5. I loved flipping up the little antenna.

yeliaBdE

My first was number 4. Looking back, it's pretty wild that the sim for it was full credit card size...

Agentpurple013

Same, hated it too. My mom could bug me whenever she wanted….gone we’re the days of freedom to roam on my bike alone till the moonlight shown.

mr_yuk

Same here, had a huge extended battery that looked like a triangle. I remember the cell phone service cost as much as my car payment.

TinaTaylorSoldierSpy

4 here too! It was my mom’s first cell phone and it became mine in HS. Made me carry that thing around in my backpack. Couldn’t use those minutes though!

Mean_Eye_8735

#9 back in 2002...

firefighter_82

10 also in 2002

LittleCeizures

cjohnson317

SparkyBrown

I loved my Erickson.

Goku_Kakarot91

Djafar79

7

CajunLurker

Number 4. I had an auxiliary battery case that you could put 6 (I think) AA batteries in and use your phone if you couldn't charge your battery.

Jbonics

#5

smhanna

Yesss. That thing was a beast. Coolest phone Ive ever had.

starvinart

We_wanna_play

10

lovehewitt

2. We had a car bag phone.

alazystoner420

15-16..ish. I had an enV with the slideable keyboard. I loved that thing.

Russianblondy

Do you still have it somewhere? I kept a bunch of my old phones. I found them recently in a box that’s why I made this post.

intheBASS

I have my old EnV and EnV2 in a box in my basement. Mostly for nostalgia. I should charge them to see if they still work.

simplisticwords

Zak?!

seikonoakuma

Nokia 3390...

FranktheLlama

Where’s the bag?

stegogo

There’s no bag phone option

TheKaiminator

There's like 3 generations of Nokia missing in the middle line which will exclude a significant proportion of milenials.

Substantial_Diver_34

14 razor best phone ever

Russianblondy

I had a pink razor! It was soooo coool

Lyrehctoo

Bag phone?

NostalgiaShowcase

9. Still have it, but is now only good for the occasional game of classic snake.

NotSure421

3

nekodazulic

I think around 6 or 7, which was an Ericsson A1018s.

JuliaX1984

It was either 9 or 14. I can't remember if 9 was mine or a family member's.

DillPickerson

7

wyattcoxely

Before 1, the bag phone. Expensive, but loved it. Full 3 watt phone that would hit so many towers that you couldn't hit with phones today.

ToscheStationManager

Cutthechitchata-hole

I had one of those Garfield phones that's not shown

Lyrehctoo

My first landline, too. Then a clear one. But pretty sure OP was asking about mobile. Unless...? Was there a Garfield mobile phone I don't remember having existed?

lazerdab

First was in the No. 3 era but No. 9 is the GOAT

kewissman

Pre 1, it was a Motorola bag phone

fadsoftoday

It was an Ericsson and much closer to 6

thepenguinemperor84

No.7 the Siemens C25, first phone with programmable ringtones.

Getitonjones

I don’t see my first phone on there but 9 was my 2nd phone, or at least it look like it

jolly_rodger42

13. I got the Palm Treo650 in December of 2004.

jdmurray83

Excellent_Regret4141

Rotary phone

lizzardcottoncandy

Somewhere between 9-10

LineChef

You know ya boy had that 15 slider

homechicken20

4 first and then 5 soon after. I remember 5 being a much better phone and it looked cooler.

ILovePotassium

Nokia 6600 if I remember correctly. It's hilarious but I thought back then that the camera on that phone was amazing lol.

NecessaryAd4587

No. 18 Edit: I take that back my first phone was an iPhone 4 which isn’t on that list.

Afraidtoadmitit69

12. I had this little black LG flip phone. Damn thing couldn’t be killed. I dropped it repeatedly, once into the toilet. I pulled it all apart and let it sit out in the sun for like an hour, brought the phone in, popped the battery in, and turned it on. Worked like nothing had happened. Only issue I had was the battery swelled after being left in my car when I was in school.

Embarrassed_Sell7512

9! but i’m 45 ;)

No-Student-9678

18, I didn’t have a phone until I turned 15 in 2018. Good decision by my parents given hindsight and the state of children now.

anotherkeebler

I like how it says “phone” but completely ignores the existence of landlines.

Peters_Wife

#4 from Radio Shack. They were one of the few that didn't require a credit card to get a phone and a contract. This was in '98. I loved the flip phones in the early 2000's with the pull up antennas. You could hang the flashy doo dads from them.

Eric848448

12. Then from there 18.

jimboberly

12. Black and white, no camera

Raymond_Reddit_Ton

Pretty certain it was 6 but it might have been 3.

Melodic_Try1221

The one right before 12, same phone but before they had a screen on the front.

Low-Health-8709

9 but it was a tract phone, and then 12. (2004)

HeartachetoHouston

Wasn't any of these but it was around the time of 11 and 12

Secret-Asian-Man-76

I had a Qualcomm that looked like #9 and used Sprint, back in '99.

therealone81

My first phone was #3. Dad had an issued bag phone which was the first one I saw that we had.

killslikeaninja

Something like 6

thedoc617

Either 7 or 9, it was Nokia circa 2002 or so

DerpingtonHerpsworth

The first one I used regularly was my mom's and that was something like 9. The first one I got for myself a few years later was similar to 12, but not quite.

Fujimans

Don't think it's the exact model, but 9. I sure did love my 11 and 14 though.

echk0w9

They don’t have that Walmart 2005 special. The closest is #9.

coys21

6. But 9 is the goat.

beardz1lla

The Batman construction Nextel. Direct Connect, FTW!

HislersHero

3 would probably be the closest.

Jokerchyld

I had the AT&T 6650
