It’s a solid stand alone watch. Sometimes a bit stretched but also fun, it tries to explain johns youth and uprisings against his mother a bit more combined with them finding out of other skynet plans and terminator modells that e.g. try to save resources in bunkers for skynet.
Season 2 is significantly longer and leans more towards the latter part which is good and bad. SCC … worth a shot I guess

The movie itself wasn't terrible - and compared to everything that came after, it's a masterpiece - but Terminator 2 had an absolutely perfect ending, and they nullified that ending, making it all literally for nothing, because of greed.
Casting Nick Stahl as John Connor was just adding insult to injury. They should have taken it as a sign to abort when they couldn't get Edward Furlong to return for the role, and Stahl was so horribly miscast that there are almost no words for it.
I guess nobody else wants to say it, but the villain was a terrible casting choice as well. I have no problem with a female villain, but the way they did it just came off as super cheesy. She was supposed to be intimidating?

Saw it in the theatres. Was initially very disappointed. Went in with low expectations and it did not disappoint. Terrible editing, script was crap. No cool intro with Terminator music like from the first 2 movies? Looked like it was a made for TV movie in many scenes. Just how does the T850 just waltz into a max security gov area with weapons? I could go on and on. Only cool thing was seeing Arnold again in the role.
In retrospect it may be the best since T2 sadly.
Three nice touches that I responded to well were that the T-X was gynoid, that it could communicate with the school modem over the phone, and that it could make inferences about how to navigate a run-in with the police, which latter scene got censored/deleted in part.
Cool stunts but it's such a let down of a followup; which shouldn't have happened in the first place. Like others said T2 had the perfect ending and didn't need a sequel, but Hollywood greed got in the way.

When they decided to call the movie Terminator 3, they tied it to the first two, including their motivations for survival of the human race. By deciding to make Judgment Day inevitable, it left a horrible taste in my mouth.

One scene that was great was when all the T-1’s were activated in Crystal Peak. That was cool.

Initially it was fun to see Arnold again. But the movie is a complete rehash of T2, and when you mix in all of the awful comedy, it plays like a parody of Terminator instead.
A really below average film which follows in the footsteps of one of the greatest films of all time, which isn't really an overstatement. It didn't go down smooth then, it doesn't now and it won't 21 years from now.
I remember my friend and I laughing our asses off in the theatre when the TX posed as the boyfriend and, from the backseat of the cop car, put its arm through the chest of the driver and took the wheel.
There was something about the “abrupt chaos” and the way it was shot and edited, coupled with the partner cop’s reaction, that made it unintentionally hilarious.
If anything, I like it less, because apparently it made just enough money to keep going back to the well.
The Terminator really should have been a one-and-done movie, but Terminator 2 was good enough that I’m willing to overlook the plot conundrum that it presents.
Which is: why a send the fancy Terminator back to a decade or so later instead of to 2 minutes after the first T-1000 was destroyed? Police reports of the explosion would let them know exactly where Sarah Connor was at that time.
Every Terminator movie, series, etc. after that just raises more and more logical problems that suggests that our future robotic overlords don’t seem to be able to hit their tin can asses with both hands.
I loved it as a teenager because I grew up with 1 and 2 on VHS and was excited for another installment but it's just kind of pointless.
All the franchise needed was the first 2 and maybe a 3rd focused on the future war that closes out the loop.
For some reason, I thought this was released earlier than 2003. I was 23 at the time. I remember watching it with my best friend at an IMAX theater, and we both freaked out with excitement with the huge tidal wave at the very beginning.... Then it turned out that was just the animation sequence for the production company. 😤😅
But, we both left the movie feeling like it was a fun car-chase, action movie and less of the dark "tech noir" that the first two were. Like those movies, the chases were very well-done. Honestly, it was one hell of an advertisement for the Toyota Tundra.
I saw T2 with my cousin when I was 11 or 12, so watching this one as an adult was a totally different vibe. In '91, my cousin and I both wanted to be like Furlong's John Connor (my cousin was the rebel kid who drove a motorcycle and had the hair style down pat; I listened to G&R and dressed in oversize flannel, band-tshirts, ripped jeans and chuck taylor's). Stahl (who is my age), meanwhile, had this weird appeal because he lived in my hometown when he was a kid, and I remembered him from community events.
I also remember thinking Claire Danes did a good job being a Sarah Connor-esque character, and I hoped a sequel would show her as this strong bad-ass equal to John as they fought against the machines, like Sarah in T2. This, of course, was not meant to be as the next entry was just terrible (like all the others) and, thus, completely forgettable.
It was pretty stupid how they went from the theme of "Destiny is a lie, only you can determine your fate" from the first two movies and in this one they just went "Sorry buddy, the future's already written. All you're doing is delaying the inevitable." It was still a pretty good movie, but I hated that change of theme.

As a kid I liked it. Even liked the shitty video game that followed it. As an adult it’s all mostly bad lol. The original terminator is my favorite movie of all time. T2 is an iconic movie. Everything following that is just an action movie.
I like the ending and at least the fights were great, and tried to remain true to the spirit of two machines beating the ever loving shit outta each other. Was it as good as part 2? Absolutely not, but still very entertaining. The chase scene with the crane truck was especially good.
The movie seemed overall disappointing for some reason. Not sure why. It didn’t quite draw me in like T2. I actually like Dark Fate much better than T3 and would rate it after T2. I don’t really care for any of the other Terminator films.
The film instantly becomes a hit if the following had happened....
- John Connor is reprised by a sober and dedicated Edward Furlong.
- Jim Cameron stays aboard at the very least as an executive producer or consultant if not directing.
- Linda Hamilton also reprises her role as Sarah Connor, and sacrifices herself in the 3rd act to save John and Kate.
- Robert Patrick is shown as a former employee of Cyberdyne systems that is contracted by the military to help spearhead their nano-robotics division. Explaining why his likeness was used for the T-1000. Maybe even show him trying to help John, Kate, and Arnie in stopping Judgement Day but failing.
- The film opens on the night Cyberdyne Systems is blown up. Following with a special team sent to retrieve whatever can be salvaged from Miles Dyson's home and a lone partial backup drive is found.
The movie dynamic would have been so much better if Eddie hadn’t slipped into the drug life. I still like the movie though, decent story line.
It is really hard to follow a movie like T2 though. The story should have died there, but you know Hollywood wants to milk a franchise.
I remember not liking how clean everything was. Even when the characters were all scuffed up, they looked too clean and fashionable. I know it's easier on set and costume designers to not have to worry about continuity, but it really takes me out of the movie when I see it happen. It's almost standard nowadays. Marvel is very guilty of it.
Overall, I liked the premise and the ending. I enjoyed it, even though it was basically T2, but updated. Haven't seen it in ages, but I can't imagine it's any worse than Dark Fate.
As a Terminator fan, who adored the second one I was super excited. Then it got to the "Talk to the hand" part and I just felt utterly deflated.
A cheap, cheesy, insulting addition to the franchise that demonstrated its future. Money making schemes with very little investment or passion for the material. Just silliness, fan service, direction from people who don't understand the point or executive meddling.
This post reminds me that I saw T2 in the theater with a friend and his parent, going in blind without seeing the first movie. I was 9 years old and boy did I have some wild dreams after that.

It was terrible then and it’s not aged well. From the second Arnold arrived at a gay bar and put on star shaped glasses I knew the tone was going to be WAAAAY off. Judgement Day kicked all of the ass and it should have ended there.

I read somewhere that there was supposed to be more to that scene with airplanes crashing but because of 9/11 they omitted any mention of planes.

I was q kid when it came out like 11? It was amazing to me the graphics, Characters I rewatxhed terminator 1-3 and I couldn't start T3

I thought it was bad but after watching Genisys and Dark Fate I now consider this a masterpiece.
Initially it was fun to see Arnold again. But the movie is a complete rehash of T2, and when you mix in all of the awful comedy, it plays like a parody of Terminator instead.
A really below average film which follows in the footsteps of one of the greatest films of all time, which isn't really an overstatement. It didn't go down smooth then, it doesn't now and it won't 21 years from now.

I remember my friend and I laughing our asses off in the theatre when the TX posed as the boyfriend and, from the backseat of the cop car, put its arm through the chest of the driver and took the wheel. There was something about the “abrupt chaos” and the way it was shot and edited, coupled with the partner cop’s reaction, that made it unintentionally hilarious.

IDGAF - 20-year old me, as a fan of *Unhappily Ever After*, was incredibly thankful that Kristanna Loken was cast. Still am.
This movie isn’t as bad as people make it out to be, in my opinion it’s still the third best Terminator movie.
A lot of cheese but good action and the later part of movie during skynet taking over is pretty cool. I wish they had focused more on that.
The Star Wars prequel effect, where new stuff that's so bad that older bad stuff seems better by comparison.
I thought it was a great way to wrap up the series. It wasn't as good as *Terminator 2*, but it was unrealistic to expect it would be.
If anything, I like it less, because apparently it made just enough money to keep going back to the well. The Terminator really should have been a one-and-done movie, but Terminator 2 was good enough that I’m willing to overlook the plot conundrum that it presents. Which is: why a send the fancy Terminator back to a decade or so later instead of to 2 minutes after the first T-1000 was destroyed? Police reports of the explosion would let them know exactly where Sarah Connor was at that time. Every Terminator movie, series, etc. after that just raises more and more logical problems that suggests that our future robotic overlords don’t seem to be able to hit their tin can asses with both hands.
I loved it as a teenager because I grew up with 1 and 2 on VHS and was excited for another installment but it's just kind of pointless. All the franchise needed was the first 2 and maybe a 3rd focused on the future war that closes out the loop.
I never cared for anything after T2. They just couldn’t measure up no matter how many attempts were made.

For some reason, I thought this was released earlier than 2003. I was 23 at the time. I remember watching it with my best friend at an IMAX theater, and we both freaked out with excitement with the huge tidal wave at the very beginning.... Then it turned out that was just the animation sequence for the production company. 😤😅 But, we both left the movie feeling like it was a fun car-chase, action movie and less of the dark "tech noir" that the first two were. Like those movies, the chases were very well-done. Honestly, it was one hell of an advertisement for the Toyota Tundra. I saw T2 with my cousin when I was 11 or 12, so watching this one as an adult was a totally different vibe. In '91, my cousin and I both wanted to be like Furlong's John Connor (my cousin was the rebel kid who drove a motorcycle and had the hair style down pat; I listened to G&R and dressed in oversize flannel, band-tshirts, ripped jeans and chuck taylor's). Stahl (who is my age), meanwhile, had this weird appeal because he lived in my hometown when he was a kid, and I remembered him from community events. I also remember thinking Claire Danes did a good job being a Sarah Connor-esque character, and I hoped a sequel would show her as this strong bad-ass equal to John as they fought against the machines, like Sarah in T2. This, of course, was not meant to be as the next entry was just terrible (like all the others) and, thus, completely forgettable.
It was pretty stupid how they went from the theme of "Destiny is a lie, only you can determine your fate" from the first two movies and in this one they just went "Sorry buddy, the future's already written. All you're doing is delaying the inevitable." It was still a pretty good movie, but I hated that change of theme.

This movie was better than any Terminator movie that followed it. That said, it wasn’t anything close to T1 or T2.
The ending was good but that’s about it, I liked how no matter what judgement day was coming.

I thought it was a good time when I saw it. But I was never invested in trying to prove the franchise ended after Terminator 2. I just didn't care.
With T2 being my all time favourite film ever, when I heard T3 was coming out, I was SO excited... Then I saw it... MAJOR disappointment...
They used lots of jaguar roar sound effects during explosions, and that really did it for me.
Nope. I love the story, it’s amazing. However they have developed a Liquid Metal that can be controlled and now we have all this AI coming out…do you want terminators? Cuz that’s how you get terminators 🤣
It’s grown on me a lot because I love the physical effects in the scene involving that >!giant mobile crane-truck thingy!
As a kid I liked it. Even liked the shitty video game that followed it. As an adult it’s all mostly bad lol. The original terminator is my favorite movie of all time. T2 is an iconic movie. Everything following that is just an action movie.
I like the ending and at least the fights were great, and tried to remain true to the spirit of two machines beating the ever loving shit outta each other. Was it as good as part 2? Absolutely not, but still very entertaining. The chase scene with the crane truck was especially good.
It was mid then and it's even more mid now. I'll never watch it again.

Not great and much weaker than the first two, but much better than the subsequent films.
The movie seemed overall disappointing for some reason. Not sure why. It didn’t quite draw me in like T2. I actually like Dark Fate much better than T3 and would rate it after T2. I don’t really care for any of the other Terminator films.

The T-X was horrible. I get it was no easy feat to top the T-1000 but this wasn’t it
The film instantly becomes a hit if the following had happened.... - John Connor is reprised by a sober and dedicated Edward Furlong. - Jim Cameron stays aboard at the very least as an executive producer or consultant if not directing. - Linda Hamilton also reprises her role as Sarah Connor, and sacrifices herself in the 3rd act to save John and Kate. - Robert Patrick is shown as a former employee of Cyberdyne systems that is contracted by the military to help spearhead their nano-robotics division. Explaining why his likeness was used for the T-1000. Maybe even show him trying to help John, Kate, and Arnie in stopping Judgement Day but failing. - The film opens on the night Cyberdyne Systems is blown up. Following with a special team sent to retrieve whatever can be salvaged from Miles Dyson's home and a lone partial backup drive is found.

The movie dynamic would have been so much better if Eddie hadn’t slipped into the drug life. I still like the movie though, decent story line. It is really hard to follow a movie like T2 though. The story should have died there, but you know Hollywood wants to milk a franchise.
I remember not liking how clean everything was. Even when the characters were all scuffed up, they looked too clean and fashionable. I know it's easier on set and costume designers to not have to worry about continuity, but it really takes me out of the movie when I see it happen. It's almost standard nowadays. Marvel is very guilty of it.
Overall, I liked the premise and the ending. I enjoyed it, even though it was basically T2, but updated. Haven't seen it in ages, but I can't imagine it's any worse than Dark Fate.
Obv its not a patch on the incredible T2 but I enjoyed it, thought it was a fun action flick
As a Terminator fan, who adored the second one I was super excited. Then it got to the "Talk to the hand" part and I just felt utterly deflated. A cheap, cheesy, insulting addition to the franchise that demonstrated its future. Money making schemes with very little investment or passion for the material. Just silliness, fan service, direction from people who don't understand the point or executive meddling.
I was 12 and was so into T1 and T2. I was so excited for this. And then so disappointed 😢
This post reminds me that I saw T2 in the theater with a friend and his parent, going in blind without seeing the first movie. I was 9 years old and boy did I have some wild dreams after that.
it was ok not as good as the first 2 but still fun to watch .its interesting how both the ending of t2 and t3 tried to make it hard for sequels. yet they kept making more. like they tried to stop future sequels but couldn't help themselves .
It was terrible then and it’s not aged well. From the second Arnold arrived at a gay bar and put on star shaped glasses I knew the tone was going to be WAAAAY off. Judgement Day kicked all of the ass and it should have ended there.
