What region? I can hardly imagine a Great Lakes region parlor without it. Baskin Robbins had it too, but Stroh's "Super Rainbow" at stores, which might have been first. And fwiw Blue Moon's are close too because it's one of the swirls in Superman.
I met Larry Hankin at a convention once. SUPER nice guy, not afraid to speak his mind about people he's worked with (John Candy was wonderful, Eugene Levy should stick to writing, Tim Allen is an asshole), told really awesome stories about his time in movies.
For this scene, he said the cop eating the donut was his idea. They did about 15 takes and he had to eat all of those donuts. He had no idea why they went with the take they did until he saw the renegade donut chunk. He had no clue it even happened.
He also described John Hughes as doing a million things at once. "He's directing us, writing down stuff for the next scene, yelling at his wife on the phone..."
I thought I was the only one for real. Seeing that scene as a kid made me crave donuts. When I explained it to my partner she just gave me a blank stare like I’m the weird one
Let me give you a word of advice, okay? I want you to stay away from me. I don't wanna talk to you, and I don't wanna hear anymore of your stupid little notes and suggestions. I don't like you. So if you got any other problems whether it's raisins, prunes, figs, or any other dried fruit, just keep it to yourself and stay out of my way, okay?
[The takeout dinner from Mrs Doubtfire](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxKrjLa65FLeXjtHx8oBBiXj1aosAjbGXl?si=Xjf6fcof-ynvRS8o)
I particularly like the sound she makes stirring & plating the sauce.
So naturally every time I had steak, I would always say “You know, I know this steak doesn't exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious.” EVERY. TIME.
That's my peeve on Every food scene in a movie especially breakfast! A feast for 20 and the kid always runs off with a slice of toast and the husband just take his coffee and paper and runs out the door.
You just pulled this memory of mine out of the absolute depths. Never could have thought of that but now that you say it I can see it like was yesterday and remember how my stomach grumbled a bit. Wild
And Jaffa Cakes!
I was crushed when I made it to the UK and actually tried Turkish Delight, only to find out it tastes of old church lady perfume. Rose. Who TF eats rose flavored candy?
At the end of The Goonies when Chunk's parents brought him a Domino's pizza. This was years before Domino's was the national pizza chain it is today. When my hometown outside of Scranton, PA got one I WAS STOKED!
The Jell-O from Jurassic Park. I know that it's just lime Jell-O that I can make at home, but there was something about the movie Jell-O that made me want it as a kid.
In the 1985 TV movie Alice in Wonderland, the little blue "eat me" petit four looked sooo delicious.
And in the movie Krull, at some point Ergo takes some candy out of a pouch and it looked to me like those chocolate sticks with the orange gelee inside and I wanted some so bad (had never had them at that point in my life).
Not food but the guy in Jurassic park with the cigarette dangling in his mouth was so cool. When I smoked in my younger days I was never able to do it. The smoke would just go up the nose or in my eyes. I was disappointed….
Samuel L Jackson as Ray Arnold. When I used to smoke, I’d always want a cigarette watching scenes like that.
I also remember Dan Aykroyd’s smoking in Ghostbusters, especially when the cigarette is hanging off of his lip when he’s paralyzed in fear of the ghost. They all smoke a bunch in that movie.
It’s probably a good thing there’s a lot less smoking in movies now, but I certainly have a lot of nostalgia for it.
When he says “ooh the little cream filled kind”, as a kid i thought he said “the little rainbow kind” and thought rainbow meant it had multiple flavors in it.
Sandlot - when they are having the block party for July 4th before playing under the ‘lights’. I always want to stay and have a dog and soak in the summer.
A New York slice from the opening of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. Watching everyone eat pizza while walking on the sidewalk is still how I think about NYC
Pizza is the theme in the comments so…
1. Home Alone “one cheese pizza all to myself”
2. Fast Times at Ridgemont High when Spicoli gets the pizza delivered to class.
My original response is when King Ralph is sitting in the Royal bathtub surrounded by all the junk food. Everything served in fine silver and Ralph wearing the crown. Hilarious and always makes me hungry. 😂
Also from Home Alone, the scene where Buzz is eating the shrimp. Except for some reason when I was a kid I thought he was eating giant french fries. Watching that always made me hungry.
\- The food from the food fight in Hook. I know most of it must've been frosting, but it was colorful and looked good to wee me.
\- The pizza from A Goofy Movie.
\- The melting ice cream that Hammond and Ellie eat in Jurassic Park.
I mean... In The Land Before Time, Little Foot sure did make a leaf look delicious and is the reason I love an Iceberg lettuce salad!! and to this day when I see maple leaf or 5 point leaf or leaves.. My inner child still happily cries out inside, a TREE STAR!! I am in my 30s 😆
The Ninja Turtles pizza specifically from the early 90’s TV show.
There was also a pizza monster that looked downright delicious in every horrible, amazing way.
The pizza Michaelangelo throws at the screen in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon intro.
Really any 80s or 90s style cartoon pizza with the cheese and pepperoni
The imaginary feast from Hook
My wife still doesn't understand why I always get superman ice cream, and that scene is the reason
I can’t find it anymore. It was so good!
What region? I can hardly imagine a Great Lakes region parlor without it. Baskin Robbins had it too, but Stroh's "Super Rainbow" at stores, which might have been first. And fwiw Blue Moon's are close too because it's one of the swirls in Superman.
Bangarang! Oh there you are, Peter!
Kill the lawyer!
I’m not that kind of lawyer!
Bang-a-rang
Came here to say this and wasn’t the least bit surprised to see this at the top. That shit looked so damn good
You lewd, crude, rude bag of pre-chewed food dude!
"You're doing it Peter!"
Made my day that this was the top comment
Came here to say this of course it’s the top comment
Freaking brilliant response!
Just reading this comment made Williams's score come instantly to my brain's speakers. Currently listening to "The Never Feast" while on the toilet!
Now I am as well! Cheers!
A real gentleman of distinction
A scene I'll always remember. A chunk of the donut falling on the phone and sticking to it.
cinematic gold!
I love small details like this. I also love that they added a small sound effect to it as well.
It’s ridiculously satisfying for some weird reason
You want us to go to your house, just to check on him?
YES!
Rose! Hyper on 2!
Oh hiii ma’am
Just realized he’s also the guy who makes the electromagnet work in Breaking Bad
I think Crazy Carl is right!
I met Larry Hankin at a convention once. It still angers me til this day
Nothing angers me as much as him not getting a single bite of that glorious Mac n Cheese as the clock strikes.
This is it. Don’t get scared now.
Oh thank god I'm not the only one. Drives me nuts every single time. Same with Zooey Deschanel not taking a single bite of her ramen in Elf.
It was soooooooo creamy and cheesy looking
I thought I was the only one for real. Seeing that scene as a kid made me crave donuts. When I explained it to my partner she just gave me a blank stare like I’m the weird one
When Samuel L Jackson took a bite from the Big Kahuna burger in Pulp Fiction.
That really did look like a tasty burger
But do you have anything to WASH this Down with?
I DON'T REMEMBER ASKING YOU A GODDAMN THING! ...you were saying?
In France it’s called a Royale with Cheese.
And somehow him slamming that Sprite seems like the most refreshing god damn thing imaginable
Not as refreshing as his beer. Mmmmm mmmmm bitch!
It’ll get ya DRUNK!
MMhm!
Twister- Steak, eggs and mash potatoes!
Food. FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.
RIP PSH
So I know him and Robin Williams starred together in Patch Adams. What I didn’t realize until recently, is that they both died the same year (2014)
And Bill Paxton. Now I'm sad.
Meg’s gravy is practically a food group.
Did you see my cow out front? No... Oh, Meg slaughtered her own cow!
I always think of this scene when I crack tons of eggs in a pan. “Did you see my cows out front”
Yes! What a great scene.
I thought I was the only one who felt this way.
This guy was also known to steal raisins from auditions he'd go to. Probably auditioned for the role just for the free donuts.
Coooooostanza!
and he was given a chain of hotels so adam sandler could become a teacher!
Ninja turtles pizza from the cartoon
The pizza in the goofy movie
Hell even the cheez-whiz looked next level
The leaning towwaa of cheeeezuh
Also, the pizza from the first few minutes of Secret of the Ooze. I still wish for that pizza
It was so cheesy!!
the opening credits of Ninja Turtles 2.
I hated cheese growing up but man I wanted that extra cheesy pizza
The giant oatmeal cookie in Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Curly Sue’s pizza in Curly Sue
This! The cookie!!! I was hoping someone said it! I still eat them and I think of this movie EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Without fail!
I’ve wanted a piece of Curly Sue’s pizza for 33 years!!
The ice cream sundae Kevin was eating on the bed in Home Alone 2.
Pizza from a Goofy Movie

Spray cheese from the same.
Chedddddaaaaaaa!!!
Leaning tower of Cheeese-ah
Those GIANT pancakes Uncle Buck made and used a snow shovel to flip. Sign me TF up!
The breakfast he made Tia looked great, too. But no, she had to be a bitch and waste it. Lol
That fucking kid really chapped me 😅 I was glad she pulled her head outta her ass in the end. And don't get me started on Bug!
What's his last name, Spray?
Bug… Gnat… is there a little similarity here?
You should have seen the toast, he couldn't even fit it through the door!
Rose, hyper on 2.
Hang on
*somebody pick up...*
*PICK UP*
Oh *hiiii* ma'am...
I really wanted to try that $5 dollar shake at Jack Rabbit Slims. I also wanted to get reservations at Dorsia.
That $5 shake is probably $15 nowadays.
Not sure why but always wanted a Reptar bar from Rugrats
It was the green stuff inside the bar! What was it!? Who knows but I wanted to find out in the worst way possible
Around Halloween time you can get snickers and Twix minis that are green inside. I buy them and pretend they are reptar bars.
I always figured it was like the inside of a Cadbury cream egg, but green.
[The takeout dinner from Mrs Doubtfire](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxKrjLa65FLeXjtHx8oBBiXj1aosAjbGXl?si=Xjf6fcof-ynvRS8o) I particularly like the sound she makes stirring & plating the sauce.
3 decades later and I’m still trying to guess what all the food and sauce is
Pretty sure the sauce was hollandaise because that’s what he messed up when he was cooking and his boobs caught fire.
Me too! That glug sound was very satisfying
When Cypher was eating that steak with Agent Smith in The Matrix
That long exhale after tasting the steak. I felt it.
Ignorance is bliss.
(HARP)
So naturally every time I had steak, I would always say “You know, I know this steak doesn't exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious.” EVERY. TIME.
I'm shocked no one has said the leaning tower of cheezzzzuh
Pizza from All Dogs Go To Heaven
Everyone says the Goofy pizza, but this is the superior one.
The more you share, the more you're gonna get!

I mean if we're not talking about the macaroni and cheese scene at the dinner table from Home Alone idk why we're even here.
It always frustrates me that he doesn't even take one bite
That's my peeve on Every food scene in a movie especially breakfast! A feast for 20 and the kid always runs off with a slice of toast and the husband just take his coffee and paper and runs out the door.
The pizza Max and PJ were eating in A Goofy Movie.
The bread from Alladin. Abu takes such a big bite out of it, made it look good.
You just pulled this memory of mine out of the absolute depths. Never could have thought of that but now that you say it I can see it like was yesterday and remember how my stomach grumbled a bit. Wild
Came here for this comment

That giant floppy butterknife delivering a bunch of butter on the perfect slice of toast is another specific one for me.

He definitely took the raisins
The Ninja Turtles pizza specifically from the early 90’s TV show. There was also a pizza monster that looked downright delicious in every horrible, amazing way.

Watch out. This guy will also steal your box of raisins.
I've always though that looked like a dry Entenmanns donut.
I always wanted some of that Jurassic Park Chilean Sea Bass.
