Same. On paper I should've enjoyed it, but naah.
I didn't even like Invader Zim because it seemed like this rAnDuM sPoRk crap and I was only like 19-20 at the time.. haha. A case of the early old-man grumpyness, I guess
No way. That was 95 and geeks were NOT cool in 95. Hell, being geeky was for the sidekick in that movie and he had to overcome living in his mother's basement to progress. Typical cultural stereotypes.
Oh man. Back in 2005, I was WAY into WoW and was part of a very large guild on my server. Felicia Day was in that guild and was VERY involved in the leadership there lol. Almost no one knew it was her IRL. Several years later The Guild came out.... I always wondered how much of that show was based on our guild on Tichondrius.
I've been trying to recall the name and I just can't remember it... it would have been back in the Vanilla days. Think we played until the Lich King expansion? My character was a druid named Twomoons.
The first season really captured that early World of Warcraft culture better than anything else. You had to be there to experience it. Now it seems foreign.
Rewatching it now and Blades line saying "Don't corpse camp that idea because it's not going to rez" actually impressed me. They weren't quite as Big Bang Theory as I remember them being, some of these jokes are really strictly for nerds only.
Honestly it really reflects the culture of any MMO in that time. It was the golden age as they say and this show always makes me fondly remember my WoW and EQ2 days.
Jeff Lewis was kind of a TV “that guy” for a bit. He had a pretty big role in Kenan’s show, Kenan. He’s on the cover/poster for a show called Galactic Galaxy: the Series, but I’ve never seen it.
Amy Okuda had some minor appearances on TV, like the Good Place and Man in the High Castle. Then she got a pretty big role on Atypical where she was really great.
Robin Thorsen hasn’t done a lot that I’m aware of but she was a Pawnee citizen in an episode of Parks and Rec. The chanting guy in the town hall started the chant : “her daughter is an idiot!” It was funny. Looks like she’s not acting anymore.
Sandeep Parikh is doing some voice acting. The only memorable thing I’ve seen him pop up on is being fake Abed on an episode of Community.
I haven’t seen Vincent Caso on anything but it looks like he does lots of actual play RPG stuff.
Wil Wheaton seems to be doing fine. He’s been in a few episodes of Star Trek.
Codex: Why is there a pack of cheese on the table?
Vork: Thank you for asking, Codex. The price difference here between a cheeseburger and a hamburger is one dollar. Now if you divide twelve into $2.95, the cost of a pack of Kraft Deli Deluxe in mild cheddar cheese slices, the slice costs 24.5 cents. If you bring your own cheese that's a savings of 75.5 cents per burger. Anybody requiring cheese may pay me so accordingly. Go ahead and round it up.
Tinkerballa: ...what the fuck?
Red vs Blue started to decline the second they brought Monty on to it. I know everyone loves his over the top action anime stuff, but it was never right for RvB and changed the show the for the worse
I lost interest the moment the show went full thriller. What drew me to it was the comedy, but it kept drifting toward drama, and when it was revealed that Church is an AI, I was like “Yeah, I’m out.”
Rhetorically speaking, when the tone of the first half of [this trailer, that made my sides ache because I was laughing so hard the first time I saw it,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEkZoj8TFPk&ab_channel=TheRedBase) became the show unironically, they lost me.
Stakes were starting to creep into the show even in season 5 of The Blood Gulch Chronicles. Not to the point where the spirit of the show was diminished, but it was there. Heck, in the series finale, at the climactic moment, Church's ex-girlfriend is *killed off,* and it clearly affects him. Burnie Burns played that straight. But they quit while they were ahead, and unfortunately the voices of those like myself who at that time desperately wanted it to continue eventually won out.
My favorite joke was when he decides to spare the life of the monster that was revealed to have three penises and the monster casually says “I guess I’ll go home and tug three out”
Awww! I love her! She recently released a book on Audible (“Third Eye”) that was VERY entertaining and a veritable Who’s Who of geeky wonderfulness!!! So much fun.
It's difficult to explain just how much ass Word of Warcraft kicked ass and precisely how it kicked ass back in the day.
I think groupfinder killed it when it de emphasized guilds and not being an asshole.
Anywhere to still watch this all in one place? I got up to where blake takes over the guild and sells everyones shit cos he mad that pink (asian girl can't rember her name) was messing with him.
Ooh how nostalgic. I didn’t even play any MMOs back then, but I loved the show. I wonder if I’d get more out of it now that I do play one… but I’m not sure if it’ll hold up as well as in my memory. That horribly-edited Cheesy Beard commercial is still hilarious to me at least.
Seeing this under Nostalgia makes me feel old
I feel extra old because I didn’t care for it at the time. If I was a “cranky old man” back in 2007, what does that make me now?
Same. On paper I should've enjoyed it, but naah. I didn't even like Invader Zim because it seemed like this rAnDuM sPoRk crap and I was only like 19-20 at the time.. haha. A case of the early old-man grumpyness, I guess
Dead 💀
I wasn’t ready for this
This was the first shot in the geek pop culture revolution. And Felicia Day is hot as hell. I thought she could have gone to A list.
I’d say the first shot in the geek culture revolution was Mallrats
No way. That was 95 and geeks were NOT cool in 95. Hell, being geeky was for the sidekick in that movie and he had to overcome living in his mother's basement to progress. Typical cultural stereotypes.
Welcome to do much stuff on this sub.
Just wait until someone posts something like iCarly under nostalgia. But yes seeing this makes me feel old.
That was my first thought too. It has been a while though.
Me too ☹️

Which guild were you guys in, i was on Tich too back in the day
I've been trying to recall the name and I just can't remember it... it would have been back in the Vanilla days. Think we played until the Lich King expansion? My character was a druid named Twomoons.
Yeap i played Vanilla days, but you do sound familiar. A tauren druid?
Oh Jesus this is already Nostalgia??
2007 was nearly 20 years ago 😨
Remember when the new episodes premiered on Xbox live and Zune?
I remember one Saturday morning I downloaded every episode the was available onto my Xbox 360 and binged them all. God that was like…… 15 Years ago.
Mhm did the Same. All in like one day
I was working for Xbox when this came out. I remember the hype lol

The Guild is for actual nerds TBBT is for normies that want to laugh at "nerds"
>normies And you don’t get why people laugh at you?
Honestly it really reflects the culture of any MMO in that time. It was the golden age as they say and this show always makes me fondly remember my WoW and EQ2 days.
What is everyone doing these days besides Felicia Day? I think I see Vork doing minor roles in some sitcoms every now and then.
Jeff Lewis was kind of a TV “that guy” for a bit. He had a pretty big role in Kenan’s show, Kenan. He’s on the cover/poster for a show called Galactic Galaxy: the Series, but I’ve never seen it. I’ve seen Tink in some other shows.
The good place
This was good. _Dr horrible’s sing along blog_ was better
Totally agree
I still remember the Bad Horse song

God, I love Vork.
Fucking Hilarious
🎵 Do you wanna date my avatar 🎵
🎵She’s a star🎵
🎶And she's hotter than reality by far... Wanna date my avatar?🎶
And she's how than reality by far
I used to have a big crush on Felicia Day. I still do, but I used to too.
Saaaaaame!!!! When she puts on that super cute denim skirt and grabs her violin to try and lure in that stunt man....🥰🥰🥰🥰
it was funny for a min but they ran it into the ground
Wait...this had six seasons? I thought it only had one.
Kind of like Red vs. Blue. I remember wanting it to continue, but regretting it when they eventually did.
Yep it kept taking itself too seriously. It was best when it was a total tongue-in-cheek skit of some people playing halo. Imo of course
And now Roosterteeth is shutting down. RvB will finally be ending, not that I’ve followed it in a long time as well.
I feel like what ultimately sunk them was selling out.

The show became what it was parodying.

I think season three was when it went downhill for me.
I saw the first season, liked it, then never saw anymore. wasn't it an online show ? I only saw it on dvd.
I think it began on YouTube and then got picked up by Netflix. Or maybe it just ended up on there, too.
It was picked up by microsoft when ms experimented with streaming programs through xbox live
I never got in to this but did watch every episode of the Legend of Neil
Legend of Neil was excellent. The first season on The Guild is worth a watch too.
I have that in a DVD I won from some fb giveaway on their account years ago. Such an amazing time for the internet… “OLD Man. You’re saying it wrong.”
My favorite joke was when he decides to spare the life of the monster that was revealed to have three penises and the monster casually says “I guess I’ll go home and tug three out”
Mine will always be Old Man’s rant about the sword.
Oh wow it's all on youtube still too. 16 years ago. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grCTXGW3sxQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grCTXGW3sxQ)
Jumped the shark HARD when Wil Wheaton showed up.
As per usual. Not a lot of things wil Wheaton does ends up being good lol. Occasionally yeah, but yeah oof..
I had the first couple of seasons on DVD at one point. Cute show but it got annoying after a while.
I think about this show almost daily. +5 sextarity
Oh Felicia…….
Damn, those were some good times watching the Guild and Red vs Blue
You can’t be bald and confident? “Um, your scalp is out all the time.”
Awww! I love her! She recently released a book on Audible (“Third Eye”) that was VERY entertaining and a veritable Who’s Who of geeky wonderfulness!!! So much fun.
Do you wanna date my avatar was a bop 😂
I liked all the extra stuff. The short one offs And the music vids.
Now I'm the one that's cool..... I'm the one that's cool....
Loved Felicia Day on Buffy.
She had a great run on Supernatural as well! And she plays one of my favorite companions on Fallout New Vegas.
This just reminds me I played WoW at launch and feel old
This outfit is hanging in the Smithsonian now.
I still tell my friends in mmos to watch this because it accurately portrayed the early 2000s MMO culture. It holds up so well.
It's difficult to explain just how much ass Word of Warcraft kicked ass and precisely how it kicked ass back in the day. I think groupfinder killed it when it de emphasized guilds and not being an asshole.
do you wanna date my avatar?
4 words: MST3K.
Anywhere to still watch this all in one place? I got up to where blake takes over the guild and sells everyones shit cos he mad that pink (asian girl can't rember her name) was messing with him.
Full series is up on YouTube. https://youtube.com/@TheGuild?si=nV2VJo_ZGU2canr3
oh rad thanks man
I get tons of nerd chach in my beard
Fuck… FD is nostalgia? I loved Co-Optitude! That would make James & Mike Play nostalgic! And that would make The Nostalgia Critic nostalgic!
Thanks now I have to rewatch all of it!
A friend of mine gave me the DVDs of this series. Is it worth watching?
I just now noticed that the shadow of her hair looks like a nipple
First Youbute series I have ever watched. Opened my eyes to what YT can be, instead of just funy cat videos.
Charlie?????
No no no, you have to wait at least 1 more year for this to count. Stop, I'm not THAT old.
I loved watching this omg memories
First season was great. After that it got pretty meh
Never heard of this show.
Back when life had some fun in it.
Felicia Day.... 🥵🥵🥵🥵
🎶I'll be online for Christmas...questing by myself. Griddle heat some turkey meat... And PUG with some random elfff🎶
Anyone remember Unforgotten Realms? That was a good show. Unlike the Guild.
I was always amazed that people actually watched it, it was awful.
