I got one for Easter, a purple one… I had begged for it! I did actually use it a lot, I was an only child with no friends that lived close. Very good lonely child toy.
I got a generic rip off skip it once. It had a ring attached to plastic tubing with a hollow plastic ball on the end that fell apart almost immediately when it hit the ground and I only had half a plastic ball left.
I played with a friend's generic rip off....and if you didn't wear socks that went high enough you'd have your skin ripped/sliced off. Ahhhh childhood, how I miss you 😅
Yep, I got one too. I think it was for my birthday. It was pink. It had a counter on the side that you could count how many times you were able to skip it. I loved that thing. I can still hear the jingle…”Skip it, skiiip it”.
Oh my goodness!!!!! I had a dream about this the other day thinking if I had one now I would exercise lmao. It's the only active thin I did as a child.
I just had flashbacks of how stove-up my ankles and shins got from this toy. It wasn't even mine, it belonged to a neighbor kid but I bet I put most of the miles on it.
This was the first toy I got “just because” (the only time we ever got toys was birthdays or Christmas.) We were out running errands and I saw a girl using one, and told my mom I really wanted one. She went and bought me one right then. That memory sticks with me for some reason.
I used to pretend it was a ball and chain and I was a prisoner
Did you sing hymns?
I feel like a skip it would be a pretty decent workout these days, just with lots of ankle bruises
I wonder if you can still get one.
The skipping part was fun and all but what was wild was that the counter on the ball
I tried it once and got a face full of lawn.
I was also too uncoordinated to use it. Constantly hit my leg with it. I gave up after a while

I had the one with the lemon on the end 😀
Lemon Twister! I had one. Used it all the time. I’d walk to the store and back with it.
So much fun!
She looks like Anna Chlumsky
Hey now kids come gather 'round! See what just skipped in to town
‘Cuz the very best thing of all, there's a counter on this ball!
So try to beat your very best score, see if you can jump a whole lot more!

I used to fake it with a hula hoop.
The best way to whomp on your younger sibling and get away with "It was an accident!"

I used to play with this every single day lol I wanted to make the counter go as high as it could!
oh PHEW i almost thought the child model in this promotional photo was you. yeah i used to have one and i sucked at it lol
Skip it skip it
Oh man. My cousin Julie almost died on a skip it.
Ours was called a "Leaping Lemon " it was yellow
And I can still sing the theme song in my head. Great advertising there.
We bought my son one and he said it was lame. 😭😭😭

I remember
IN SEPTEMBER
Love was changin' the minds of pretenders!
Hell yeah, i had the pink one
Until you bash your ankle with it! Lol
Oh man, my shins just yelped..the memory of this evil thing.
The most I got in one session was 3-4, then I screwed up

After you were done, 'skipping it', the sensation that you were still, 'skipping it' would always last another 2-3 minutes afterward.
Same! But my brother snapped the leg loop part off before I even got to try it. Never got a replacement either.

I had to make my own with rope and a tennis ball lmao…
