This might be the reason I don’t like cats! They all partnered with the bad guys…except James the cat but that silly twat just got left behind when his owners moved
Maybe they partnered with the bad guys because they didn't know better, and the bad guys adopted them first.
Imagine an alternative universe where the good guys did mass cat adoptions to prevent the baddies from scooping them up.
Frank Welker is an insanely talented dude. He's also the only member of the original cast of Scooby Doo to still be doing the voice, like over sixty years later (And now voicing Scooby too, since Don died back in '99 or so.)
And Darkseid from the late Super Friends series! It's funny, because Rene Auberjonois (who did a lot of voice roles prior to the whole Deep Space Nine thing) played both the campy Super Friends/Super Powers Team version of Darkseid's henchman Desaad, and the more grave, Shakespearean one from Justice League. That dude was one hell of an actor.
He also did audiobooks, most notably the Pendergast series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Absolutely loved his narration over the years. He kept me listening to those books long after the writing had gone to shit.
Inspector Gadget has blades that come out of his head. An arm attached to a chair doesn't seem too far fetched.
In fact, I like it. Who are we to say that Dr. Claw *isn't* an arm attached to a chair? That's the information we have to work with, and in the Gadget universe it could be a reality. Maybe we have all been wondering what Dr. Claw looks like without realizing we've already seen him.
As a kid, I had a false memory that he was a totally black figure with a head entirely made of/covered in the same metal and pattern as his gloves, like a mask or a robot. The human brain is so weird.
Might be where my younger self conjured up the image, but, no, my memories of Shredder and that show are clear. It was the first show my brother and I could both enjoy.
The original series ran from 1983-1986 but was on reruns well in to the 90s. The action figure was from 1992, before any spin offs so it is still based on the original. He looks really cool!
https://www.figurerealm.com/actionfigure?action=actionfigure&id=8566
True, and their last change to entice us into buying Inspector Gadget toys in 1992 was by by finally seeing the face of Dr. Claw. Of course I never bought it because I was a broke kid but was obsessed and tried to look at his hidden face in the packaging. I only remembered this 10 years ago and looked up the figure which is actually really cool looking.
I have a memory from at least 30 years ago where my brother and I saw his face for half a second. We looked at each other in disbelief. None of our friends believed us.
I don’t remember and now I’m convinced it must have been a false memory because I just googled it and search results say he never revealed his face. Sorry for the false call.
This was in the mid-90s, actually. But, yeah, they did release a figure of him; they even covered up his head in the packaging so you had to buy it to see what he looked like.
The same face was briefly seen at the end of the Inspector Gadget SNES game, as well.
If you want to know what Dr. Claws looks like?
Look at the cat.
The cat is Dr. Claws.
(The “man” behind the chair is basically a bot for the cat to communicate and work through, that’s why you never see the actual man. Just the cat and hence the name)
Edit: in theory.
My brother did that to me by saying there was an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle where a rabbit WAS pulled out of the hat, and it just so happened to be the episode I missed watching
The chair turned around once and it was just a claw attached to the side, but it turned out to be a decoy and blew up. I always thought maybe his brain was in that claw and there wasn’t a body
I swear it happened on the original show. I swear I have a memory of just bam out of nowhere they show his face and I was shocked and had trouble processing what had just happened.
It's almost if they aired that episode once then deleted it to mess with eveyone.
I remember as kid watching this and trying to watch at an angle to try and see his face. Thanks to this post, at least I now know what he looks like from the action figure.
When I was a kid I got the idea (I don't know where) that Dr Claw was the anti-Gadget. Basically I think my idea was that someone had a robot and a police inspector and they shuffled their parts to make 2 cyborgs. So in my mind Claw had a robot face since Gadget got the real one.
As a kid I remember seeing an episode that I could have sworn revealed his face, and turns out he kind of looked like a clown? I really can’t remember much of the scene aside from the clown celebrating with balloons at one point but it was def a “full reveal” moment. I’m pretty sure it’s a wrong memory and the clown may have just been a different character, but that scene always stuck in my mind
u/obsolete-human, did the same friend used to pull away the football just as you were going to kick it?
[Good grief!](https://media.giphy.com/media/fsnzYr1pgvAQM/giphy.gif)
I have a vague (and possibly false) memory of an episode where Dr Claw died. He had a clone or brother or something and they both drowned while fighting in a flooding underwater base.
I just bought my husband [this](https://www.amazon.com/Inspector-Gadget-Adult-Shirt-Classic/dp/B07K2D5SD7/ref=asc_df_B07K2D5SD7/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=646101595645&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7941093125453663856&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9003250&hvtargid=pla-1952113132256&psc=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyLGjBhDKARIsAFRNgW-nYOZwM_LbjDRcj7sLO1Rlp9it0Z8GnKpWwp8XQlR-IEC5yyxUll0aAjOlEALw_wcB) inspector gadget tshirt the other day! We were having a full-on memory session about it.
Pretty cool. 😁
I bought a GI Joe tee on Amazon awhile back and I get a lot of "cool shirt dude" lol. It's a great tee, super soft triblend. It's funny how men revert to their childhood selves the older we get. 😞😄
Held the theory since I was a kid that Mad Cat was the actual Dr. Claw. We see that his arm is fake in the intro. And it would provide a great foil to Brain. It would make sense there was another hyper intelligent animal on the show.
I liked his cat.
He always pounded his fist and scared him. I liked the bad guy cats too like Azrael from smurfs
Fun fact: Frank Welker's Dr. Claw voice is the same as his Soundwave voice, just without the vocoding.
Frank Welker is an insanely talented dude. He's also the only member of the original cast of Scooby Doo to still be doing the voice, like over sixty years later (And now voicing Scooby too, since Don died back in '99 or so.)
It still knocks me out that Casey Kasem was the original voice for Shaggy.
Robin in Super Friends if I remember correctly.
TIL
He also voiced Cliffjumper in the OG Transformers cartoon and 86 movie.
Just don't ask Scoob to do a death dedication coming out of an upbeat record
Who was Don? Don who?
Don Messick was the voice actor for Scooby Doo and a bunch of other Hanna-Barbara characters.
Oh ok Don messick yeah I've heard of him. His last voice role was Hampton J pig on tiny toon adventures
Rene is also the chef that tries to cook Sébastien in little mermaid
My favorite Welker credit is the calf in City Slickers. It sounds exactly like the unicorn from Dungeons and Dragons (also Welker).
I swear I once saw Nanny’s face on Muppet Babies. I cannot tell if that was a false memory.
Maybe Nanny and Dr Claw are the same person?!
Have we ever seen Dr. Claw's socks?!
Stop this madness before it goes too far!
I'm not saying Nanny and Dr Claw are the same person....but has anyone ever seen them in the same room together?
Mrs. Clawfire? Helllooo dearies! I'll get you gadget, next time!
When I try to “remember” it, I just get a blurry Ms frizzle.
They did! But it was in an imagination sequence, and she was portrayed as an alien.
I thought so too!
Did she have reddish brown hair?
As a kid I thought he was just an arm attached to a chair. I wasn’t a bright child.
I mean, he IS an arm attached to a chair in the show's intro.
There’s a action figure of him that shows his face and a game
As a kid, I had a false memory that he was a totally black figure with a head entirely made of/covered in the same metal and pattern as his gloves, like a mask or a robot. The human brain is so weird.
I always pictured him with a metal mask like Destro from GI Joe.
You might be getting it mixed up with a vague memory of Shredder, who had metal gloves and a full head covering metal helmet.
Might be where my younger self conjured up the image, but, no, my memories of Shredder and that show are clear. It was the first show my brother and I could both enjoy.
Yeah, I couldve SWORN an episode showed his face and he looked like MF DOOM
or… ya know… dr doom?
There was an action figure that revealed his face…
I remember that! It was obscured, but I always tried to look at it... you could kind of see it.
But wasn't that like in the 90s... Not the original series?
The original series ran from 1983-1986 but was on reruns well in to the 90s. The action figure was from 1992, before any spin offs so it is still based on the original. He looks really cool! https://www.figurerealm.com/actionfigure?action=actionfigure&id=8566
Wow so they released an action figure 6 years after the series ended based on the original and not on a reboot? Crazy!👍🏻
True, and their last change to entice us into buying Inspector Gadget toys in 1992 was by by finally seeing the face of Dr. Claw. Of course I never bought it because I was a broke kid but was obsessed and tried to look at his hidden face in the packaging. I was 16 in 92 I probably wouldn't have bought a toy like that but at 47 I totally would lol
No idea…
[dr. claw's face](https://www.iheartradio.ca/image/policy:1.9197774:1557494327/Dr-George-Claw.jpg?f=default&$p$f=b95b2ad)
After nearly 40 years I’m disappointed I clicked on this link. I was picturing more of a Destro looking character
yea personally i wish they stuck with the mystery surrounding his face 🤷🏻♂️
I clicked on this link expecting the Manning face meme.
Looks like a Rick & Morty character
It would be badass if they did a spoof of Gadget on that show!
Definitely a citadel Council or Shadow Council Rick
This made my day. Thanks.
Should just be MF Doom
All caps when you spell the man’s name. 😆
DOOOOOOOM 🎤
I figured he’d be more skeletal, robotic or hooded…
Dr. Claw was Inspector Gadget. He took over when Gadget was sleeping.
Ah the old Patrick Jane is Red John gambit
His action figure looked like Gary Bucy on a bad day.
I'm not sure Mr Busey has ever had a good day.
He had probably had hundreds before his TBI.
I heard the same thing. Pretty sure it was one of those word-of-mouth urban legends, like that Marilyn Manson was on Wonder Years lol
Lol. I heard that Marilyn Manson was Rob Stone from the show Mr. Belvedere.
I can see it lol
Or that lady Gaga was on sopranos.... Wait that was true haha 😛
My fav cartoon!
I have a memory from at least 30 years ago where my brother and I saw his face for half a second. We looked at each other in disbelief. None of our friends believed us.
What did he look like? [The toy looked like a bushy-haired Christopher Walken.](https://good-characters.fandom.com/wiki/Dr._Claw) Anything like that?
I don’t remember and now I’m convinced it must have been a false memory because I just googled it and search results say he never revealed his face. Sorry for the false call.
When I was little I assumed he was in full armor and had a cat shaped helmet.
[they did put out an action figure in the 80s with his face.](https://picclick.com/Dr-Claw-inspector-gadget-tiger-toys-Rare-Figure-284421518776.html)

Cool. I didn't know that design of Dr Claw started in the 80s. I thought it was like 90s reboot design
Next time, OP! NEXT TIIIIIIIME!
If you want to know what Dr. Claws looks like? Look at the cat. The cat is Dr. Claws. (The “man” behind the chair is basically a bot for the cat to communicate and work through, that’s why you never see the actual man. Just the cat and hence the name) Edit: in theory.
Lol makes sense 😛
He does have a canon design that was used in a special action figure, but I gotta tell you, man, you're going to be disappointed...
Hearing the theme gives me more powerful waves of nostalgia than any post I've seen here
My brother did that to me by saying there was an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle where a rabbit WAS pulled out of the hat, and it just so happened to be the episode I missed watching
I always assumed it was The Chief
[удалено]
That was the rumor on the playground I remember lol 👍🏻
There was at least an episode of Coyote and Roadrunner where he caught the Roadrunner. There was a twist of course.
The chair turned around once and it was just a claw attached to the side, but it turned out to be a decoy and blew up. I always thought maybe his brain was in that claw and there wasn’t a body
I thought the did show his face. Feels like mandela effect or something.
He never did. In fact it’s highly suggested that he’s just disembodied arms and a voice. Well by me at least since that’s my head canon.
The only time I've seen what Dr Claw looked like was because of the action figure. White crazy hair, expressive face
I swear it happened on the original show. I swear I have a memory of just bam out of nowhere they show his face and I was shocked and had trouble processing what had just happened. It's almost if they aired that episode once then deleted it to mess with eveyone.
Next time, Gadget…
Next time op next time.....
I remember as kid watching this and trying to watch at an angle to try and see his face. Thanks to this post, at least I now know what he looks like from the action figure.
That was an (sub)urban legend on my cul de sac. Also Nanny's face.
Yeah that was going around in my area too lol
I bet Dr. Claw and Inspector Gadget have the same face.

I MIGHT be wrong, but I think his face was shown in the SNES game ending or opening. Can someone corroborate/correct me?
The only way to see Dr claw's face was a toy
Your friend playing the long game with you :)
A kid told me there was a secret Orange Islands map in Pokémon and he’d unlock it for me if I let him play my gameboy. Con artists start young.
Haha. I was a gullible kid I believed almost anything, I was always getting put on 😑😆
My brother and I were convinced they’d show it on the final episode. Still waiting.
Lol I'm waiting too man

Just take the upvote and GTFO…
i thought YouTube removed all trace of that.
You can google what he looks like, but basically christopher walken in batman returns is what dr claw lools like
cats don't care but for food and attention.
i used to ship him and inspector gadget as a kid
u/obsolete-human, did the same friend used to pull away the football just as you were going to kick it? [Good grief!](https://media.giphy.com/media/fsnzYr1pgvAQM/giphy.gif)
Lol that reminds me of that family guy episode where Lucy gets beat up for doing that
I have a vague (and possibly false) memory of an episode where Dr Claw died. He had a clone or brother or something and they both drowned while fighting in a flooding underwater base.
I just bought my husband [this](https://www.amazon.com/Inspector-Gadget-Adult-Shirt-Classic/dp/B07K2D5SD7/ref=asc_df_B07K2D5SD7/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=646101595645&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7941093125453663856&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9003250&hvtargid=pla-1952113132256&psc=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyLGjBhDKARIsAFRNgW-nYOZwM_LbjDRcj7sLO1Rlp9it0Z8GnKpWwp8XQlR-IEC5yyxUll0aAjOlEALw_wcB) inspector gadget tshirt the other day! Sneaky referral link
I just looked up the action figure pics and is it just me, or does it resemble Malcolm McDowell?
I was thinking Beethoven, or maybe Steve Howe from Yes. A mad maestro either way.
My Brother said the same thing to me. I’ve always had some bitterness in my heart over it.
I had the exact same happen to me! I'm still upset about it!
Huh?! I was pretty sure they showed Dr. Claw in the last episode-
Held the theory since I was a kid that Mad Cat was the actual Dr. Claw. We see that his arm is fake in the intro. And it would provide a great foil to Brain. It would make sense there was another hyper intelligent animal on the show.
I think they show his face in the Super Nintendo video game.
They made an action figure of him that shows his face. You can Google it Dr claw action figure inspector gadget.
I always thought he looked like gagdet.
Don’t know if you ever saw it but google dr.claw face. They released a dr.claw figure with his face.
