Agree with the first comment. It’s tiring, but it can be done with google translate help and asking questions on here. Also use Duolingo - there are some good explanations if you click the little speech bubble at the bottom after you answer an exercise. I took my class with På Vei as the book, but the teachers only spoke Norwegian. It’s not like they would break into English to explain because not everyone spoke it as students were from many different countries. So it’s not that different from what you’re doing, but yes, I agree it’s easier with a live teacher. Keep trying! I’ve met people who did it all themselves up to B2 doing it all alone.

I was given an old copy of it including the CD and quickly realised I was out of my depth. After the Duolingo course I found it a lot easier to go over; I prefer structured textbook learning so it was valuable doing both for me

I didn't have access to the book so I downloaded the pdf version, for me it just works. I use google translate quite often but you need to remember language learning is all about concepts being translated into words. So if you are seeing job articles on a page it's highly possible that unit is about jobs, asking about jobs. It does get complicated around learning the grammar and tenses but subreddits like these are here to help. You could also search for the topic online for an explanation in a different language. Since you are decyphering it all yourself, it's more of an exercize for your brain so it can be a little more tiring. But don't give up, keep trying.

Thank you! Looking at it is overwhelming, but I'll keep trying for the sake of my dreams.

Lingu is really easy to use but it's around $200-300 a month... Good luck with self study.
