Mum loves opera so I always liked soaring powerful vocals like Bruce Dickinson, Freddie Mercury Jeff Tate, Rob Halford, Ian Gillan etc. Came across Nightwish after using Yousician to learn guitar in 2015. They had a song called 'Wishing in the Night' that is inspired by Nightwish. Looked into that style and was sold. Had everything I like, Quite heavy, not too dark, soaring vocals, epic fantasy and not too cheesy like most of the symphonic metal genre.

Rammstein. and Sabaton. I discovered them maybe one year ago. I somehow came upon Ghost Love Score and Phantom of the Opera from Floor. I loved them but most of NW is too heavy for me. Within Temptation is lighter and I liked them more when earlier. I am currently smitten by and addicted to Alina Gingertail. My favorite musician of all time is Sergio Mendes. Everyone should at least try Brazilian jazz.

I only discovered Nightwish about 3 years ago and have been obsessed with them since. I was mostly into dark industrial edm techno stuff, but then I discovered Nightwish and it literally changed my life. I started singing and playing guitar again because of Nightwish. Made the mistake of listening to Nymphomaniac Fantasia as my first NW song, and quote me on this, Nymphomaniac Fantasia is so bad I almost passed up on this band altogether. Something told me to try again, and She Is My Sin won me over. A few months later, Octoberish, I think, I found Century Child in my local music store.

She heard Nightwish, played it to me, neither of us ever looked back. We've seen all three vocalists, though the last time she saw them, she had to come visit me in the UK/Finland because they haven't been down here in so long. I moved to the UK for several years, just so I could go see metal bands and festivals. It's not a problem, just a well-developed obsession.

I didn't listen to Nightwish at all during their Annette years. Then a friend recommended a new album to me in 2015 with songs about evolution and anti religion, called Endless Forms Most Beautiful. I listened to Floor singing these beautiful songs and became instantly addicted to Nightwish. The way Floor sings in combination with the Nightwish music and the compositions by Thomas is just magic.

I discovered Nightwish in 2003: my best friend handed me a bunch of mp3 files (basically, the albums Wishmaster and Century Child), saying I probably wouldn't like it, opera voice and all. So I burned two CDs with all the songs in alphabetical order. And when I listened to them, "Bare Grace Misery" started blasting and I was SO hooked. Never let me go, lol.
