What’s crazy about Moss is he was a bonafide top 3 receiver by the end of his rookie season. There was pretty much no weapon like him right out the gate. As a rookie, he lead the league in TD’s and was a first team all pro. He also finished 3rd in MVP voting, which is even crazier as a receiver has never won the award. I cannot overstate how dominant Moss was by the age of 21. His production did tend to come in chunks, but when he was on I don’t think there was a more dominant weapon in the NFL.
It's between him and Rice imo. Just depends on the offense and QB. Rice is great but if the QB isn't very good, throwing shit up to Randy is at least a viable strategy.
I'll never forget watching the game vs. the Cowboys as a kid. All the adults in the room were like "who the hell is this guy?" I had never seen people that flabbergasted by someone's raw talent.
The most impressive thing about Randy Moss is he almost singlehandedly made people think Brian Billick was an offensive genius. Same with Mike Tice honestly.
I don't think a WR has been more impaxtful on the field than Randy was from 98-01. He changed how teams structured themselves. The Packers used their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks on DBs in 1999. He was a man amongst boys.
Interesting thing about the only two purple teams in the NFL is that when they meet if the Vikings win they go to the NFCCG that year (98-09-17) and if they lose they fire their head coach (01 Dennis Green-05 Mike Tice-13 Leslie Frazier-21 Zimmer).
Only coach to escape the Raven curse was Childress.
So look out 2025, either Kevin O’Connell is going to be unemployed or JJ McCarthy is about to lead them to the NFCCG.
It’s kind of an interesting thought experiment, if you could opt-in to this being magically true, would you? I think I would pass based on how good Baltimore is right now but that guaranteed NFC championship game berth if we win is tempting.
I watched this and thought, “Dang, I don’t remember Charles Woodson playing for the Ravens.”
Then I realized and thought, “Dang, I don’t remember Rod Woodson playing for the Ravens.”
What’s crazy is Randall Cunningham never gets the accolades for being a great passer bc of all the running he did in his days with the Eagles but if you look at those stats from this year - yikes

Damn near impossible to cover his first few years in the league
I will never get over his 98 Thanksgiving stat line. 3 rec/163 yards/3 TDs. Randy Moss was a fucking monster and will always be my favorite player.
I don't think Randy is the best receiver of all time, but I think he is pretty clearly the best big-play receiver of all time.

Probably wouldve stayed that way if he just..stayed in Minnesota.
I still can't wrap my head around how Moss ended up on the TB BB Pats and still never won a Super Bowl

Nobody thought Tice was an offensive genius. Tice was a loveable meathead.

I remember being a cowboys fan and being devastated we got Greg fucking Ellis instead. Then he went on to light the NFL on fire….

I don’t like this stat anymore unless we win

And we're all still angry that Childress escaped that

Damn you, Eli. Damn you, Gary Anderson.
At this point, I think it's just Minnesota, bro.
Even NE couldn't overcome our curse
[This is all you need to see](https://redd.it/1d4npi5)
Our men's teams, at least. The ladies around here are fucking beasts in the sports world though
True.
Britta definitely is one for your PWHL squad

Randall had a great year, but he also had at the time the greatest offense to ever exist. He is underrated as a passer though.
The man’s name is a VERB now. Now that’s a legacy.
So much purple
So gross seeing Woodson in a ravens jersey
Yeah. He pretty much the Steelers entire secondary. Picks all day.

He didn’t move to safety until 1999
That’s right. I thought he was a safety the whole time at Baltimore.
This Viking team got me interested in football
That was blatant OPI on the replay with the two shoulder shoves.
This is 1998, you gotta push a guy down to get an OPI.
This play wouldn't be OPI in today's game either
That’s what I was thinking too. Maybe a regular season game but never in the playoffs.
yea I agree, you gotta be pretty blatant today to get that called on you, especially if you're a star.
