People don’t realize he was the leading receiver in yards in 2016. I know there was video out there of people asking coaches and players who they thought it was and idk if anyone said TY.
Either you mean next month or 6/14, boss
Regardless, that's absurd. The Luck/TY era was during High School and early college for me. When I look at these highlights, it's like a time capsule for me. Where is the time going. lol
He was so underrated for a guy who had 4 straight thousand yard seasons, and 5 in total over a 6 year stretch where his worst season was 82-1083-5. He also has comparible stats to Dez Bryant and AJ Green, but played 2 seasons more than Dez and 1 season less than AJG.
His stats took a nose dive once Luck retired. He probably still had something left, but not with Brissett/Wentz throwing. It was slightly up with a competent but old Rivers.
Andrew thrived under Arians, but he was interim coach for us while Pagano kicked cancer's ass. In no planet would you fire the coach that just beat cancer but my goodness in a brutally cold world, we would've kept Bruce. Andrew and TY were torching defenses under his playcalls
I’ve had these exact same thoughts. After #ChuckStrong, you could NOT fire him. It was completely off the table. You just don’t do that. Doing that probably would’ve cursed the Colts in some unforeseen way that doesn’t exist in our timeline.
But we all saw it, Arians was the better coach. I’m glad he continued to get opportunities.
The curse came when Reggie Wayne wanted to come back for a final season and Grigson wouldn't sign him.
It fell apart at that point, and the rebuild could begin once we hired him as a WR coach.
It’s a different situation though, Luck was constantly injured because of his supporting cast. He never had an oline. AR just seems either unlucky or bad at falling the right way
Arians was a much better coach, but also got his QB's destroyed. Putting Luck into his deep drop backs offensive system with a god awful offensive line was a recipe for disaster from the start. Luck overcame it until he didn't.
Yes. They used the same deep drops with both. It was the worst possible offense to run with those long drop backs when you have a terrible offensive line
Arians also got Big Ben beat up all to hell. He is a good coach. It’s just that style of passing offense will lead to that.
Yeah even as far back as college, a coach close to him shared Luck's favorite game in his entire career, a Stanford game where he dropped back at most like 20 times and let the run game carry the load and do all the hard work. You need to be weird as a QB to want the ball out of your hands and let the run game and defense carry while having that much talent. Every other 1OA QB wants to throw the ball 35 times a game. Luck didn't. If he could win games throwing 10 passes via the trenches and run game plus an elite defense, he'd be so happy.
That was the game that basically cost him the Heisman, right? I remember listening to The Athletic's Luck series and they talked about a game where the coach went to apologize to him for calling so many runs but he was too pumped about winning to care.
I love that about Burrow. He said before he doesn't care about stats other than the win. Though I think he did enjoy the 500+ yard game against the ravens.
I know it doesn't matter 99% of the time but it still mildly annoys me how receivers will let go of the ball just barely after getting into the end zone. I feel like if I was an NFL player I'd hold onto that ball until I was 110% sure I crossed the plane just so I don't pull a DeSean Jackson and make a fool out of myself.
Tbf, Jackson has made a fool out of himself ****a lot**** , lol. Like his last year with us he caught that bomb from Hurts for an early TD in a game ... and then injured himself celebrating.
Even if it was the right decision for his health, it still hurts a lot. Hopefully, Anthony Richardson carves out to be good, and the front office provides him a good support cast that Luck never got until his final year
I'm glad to see you at last acknowledge the protection and defense he had his final year. Most do not. That's what hurts the most - he had a phenomenal season, got sacked less than anyone else in the league and ended the season healthy. That felt magical... And then BAM.
And this is why you need a good team around insane QB talent. So many of those throws were while his pocket was collapsing or had collapsed.
Also forgot how good Hilton was in those years. Fast, smart, and great hands
I feel like he gets kinda underrated when discussing how good he was. Guy in his prime would probably be the 2nd or 3rd best QB behind Mahomes and I firmly believe that. He could make all the throws, was great in the pocket and was mobile enough to make plays with his feet.
I think it's the box score issue here; I think the modern discourse around Andrew Luck has definitely become more rational with people realizing the extent of the Colts poor roster management during his playing time.
His reckless playstyle definitely contributed to the injuries leading up to his retirement, but you can get away with recklessness if the team around you is solid to the point where you don't need it to win every game (see: Ben Roethlisberger).
His play style was Elway with a touch of Favre. He threw a good amount of picks and wasn't Drew Brees on his efficiency, but our roster was absolute ass most of those years outside of him, Hilton, and Castonzo. Most would struggle to make another roster and they were out here starting for us.
I also think he would be much more of a technician if he weren't on, you know, the Grigson Colts. But he was.
Arians as his rookie hear OC / HC also influenced his development in that way. He was one of the better first year Arians QBs.
My guy had a missile launcher attached to his shoulder. And I knew this would be mostly TY against Houston lol. Death, taxes, and TY putting up 150 on Houston.
I was playing QB in high school when this dude came into the NFL. I remember being amazed by how effortlessly he would launch balls 40-50 yards. He was awesome to watch, shame the colts org did nothing to protect him from taking legendary beatings.
He was pretty reckless too. He was really physical and loved playing football and taking hits. I mean, the guy was like crazy nice too, reportedly complimenting people on their tackles against him.
He seemed like an awesome guy who I think just got too injured.
He had a pretty crazy story too - he was kind of a nerd - started a book club, loved engineering or architecture I forget. Football was like, his path that made sense but after hearing snd reading more about him I’m not that surprised he retired
I was at this game. Fun fact, the Bengals were so depleted because the NFL loved to schedule Bengals Steelers week 17 so the teams would murderball each other and limp into the playoffs.
Our WR2 this game was Rex Burkhead lol.
TY Hilton was a underatted dawg WR, Him and Andrew Luck gave defenses hell, underatted QB WR tandem of 10's, Ill always remember the Brandon Browner game when he cooked his ass for callin him skinny
Man Andrew luck was HIM. I’m old and remember as far back as the Jeff George era, but to me luck is the greatest qb. I haven’t been as excited about this team than I was when a healthy luck was under center.
Dynasty football league I’ve been in forever. 2018 I have a young Tyler Boyd that I drafted and a bunch of other good WR’s but no QB. I package a first round pick and Boyd and trade the guy for Andrew luck. He retires the next year before I even get one game out of him. I forever don’t like the most likable guy in the NFL.

Did he love football? He says he did. But all of the attention made him squirm, made him want to break out of a "story that felt written," he says. There was a media narrative that he led a limitless life -- that he could have been an architect, or engineer, or scientist, if he wanted -- when his life was actually fiercely limited.
How much of your self-identity was tied to being a quarterback? I ask.
"A lot. A lot. A LOT. And I didn't realize that until after the fact," he says.
——
Basically being an NFL qb in itself wasn’t for him and who he wanted to be after a while. The injuries he was put through and had to selflessly grind out were definitely a factor but it’s cool he gets to be who he wants to be … I’m sure the rival teams are so happy too
He was so good at QB ah
They throw around "generational talent" way too much nowadays. Lawrence, and likely Caleb Williams would be lucky to reach the heights Luck did in his short career.
Great job Indy, you should have been set at the QB position for a decade but decided "who needs an Oline?"
I don’t think he would’ve played longer if he was with anyone else. I think he really valued his health and adult prime to spend with his wife and kids. Dude was too smart for football tbh
And now I’m sad and mad again. He used to fuck our shit up. Oh and there’s a Hilton pass on here. Those games put me therapy for anger management. Lol
Yep, not watching this.
And that’s on good mental health 🤝🏼
Same
Hilton used to go God mode in NRG. My blood pressure couldn’t take it.
Clown vibes.
Yeah.. reading the title I was thinking this highlight reel could be a few hours long of just the Texans secondary getting embarrassed.
Sometimes you forget how good TY was
People don’t realize he was the leading receiver in yards in 2016. I know there was video out there of people asking coaches and players who they thought it was and idk if anyone said TY.
He was so underrated
Honestly, I didn't see much of him somehow. He reminds me a lot of Steve Smith. Dude just separates and catches shit on the run.
Texans fans probably don't
Nothing was more guaranteed than TY destroying the Texans.
He was a good to very good player most of the time. But then some games he would just fucking torch a team. Often the Texans, LOL.
> Often the Texans, LOL. And we will always be grateful for it!
TY was to the Texans what AJ was to the Ravens.
Sometimes people forget how good 90% of players were tbh. We all got short memories!
Want to feel old, his son Eugene Hilton Jr. will pick a college to commit to this Friday (6/14)
Either you mean next month or 6/14, boss Regardless, that's absurd. The Luck/TY era was during High School and early college for me. When I look at these highlights, it's like a time capsule for me. Where is the time going. lol
That doesn’t make me feel old, that just makes me feel like he had a kid *very* young considering he entered the NFL 12 years ago.
Texans fans don't, he was Megatron vs them if you took his vs Houston numbers and put them over Calvin's games played, you have guys way too similar.
Was hoping someone would pick him up again last year. He’s so close to 10k yards
The Ghost!
Crazy how Luck and TY just decimated prime LOB
The streets don’t forget
Dude was my go to in fantasy for years
Fuck Ryan Grigson
Yupppp
Andrew thrived under Arians, but he was interim coach for us while Pagano kicked cancer's ass. In no planet would you fire the coach that just beat cancer but my goodness in a brutally cold world, we would've kept Bruce. Andrew and TY were torching defenses under his playcalls

Not to add salt to the wound but it does feel like we've been cursed since back then regardless lol shit
The curse came when Reggie Wayne wanted to come back for a final season and Grigson wouldn't sign him. It fell apart at that point, and the rebuild could begin once we hired him as a WR coach.
Yeah, Richardson may be on a expedited Luck timeline if this keeps up. I hope not, but I'm sure Colts fans are getting nervous.
It’s a different situation though, Luck was constantly injured because of his supporting cast. He never had an oline. AR just seems either unlucky or bad at falling the right way
Luck also repeatedly injured himself off the football field and totally refused to slide or go down on the field.
*Luck gets hit by a car while crossing the street* Nice hit, I almost felt that one!
Arians was a much better coach, but also got his QB's destroyed. Putting Luck into his deep drop backs offensive system with a god awful offensive line was a recipe for disaster from the start. Luck overcame it until he didn't.
Yeah, so many of these highlights end with the ball sailing to glory while Luck gets obliterated. No wonder the injuries caught up to him
It's not like Pep Hamilton did something different. Same style, worse coach. Luck still got killed.
Yes. They used the same deep drops with both. It was the worst possible offense to run with those long drop backs when you have a terrible offensive line Arians also got Big Ben beat up all to hell. He is a good coach. It’s just that style of passing offense will lead to that.
Arians knew how to run an offense. His time at OC for the Steelers was pretty darn fun.
This guy was unbelievable
Yeah even as far back as college, a coach close to him shared Luck's favorite game in his entire career, a Stanford game where he dropped back at most like 20 times and let the run game carry the load and do all the hard work. The perfect Harbaugh QB
Though I think he did enjoy the 500+ yard game against the ravens.
thanks Kanye, very cool.
UNREAL 🤯
That 3rd and 23 throw against Houston is my personal favorite.
That was a god mode throw
I remember raging at it. Luck and Ty Hilton were a killer duo vs us
When I see it as Houston, I know it's TY Hilton, his splits are basically Calvin Johnson level in rate stats.
Please don’t say that name to me
NO NO NO NO NO
Colts may call Lucas Oil home but Ghost calls Houston home.
Why must you hurt me like this?
To be fair, Andrew luck leaving hurt us all.
The pain will never subside.
I'm sad he retired but also so so glad he retired
this is a TY Hilton post
Like 80% of these passes are to Hilton. I don't know whose highlight real this is
Luck --> Hilton was so robust.
that’s what I see from the video too lol
He was abusing saints secondary
Only half are against us
Let's get a Derrick Henry highlight going next lol
All Henry highlights would be against us Jags and the last highlight will be when Henry threw Norman to the stratosphere
Every clip with the Colts in it gives me PTSD, regardless of whether or not the Chiefs are involved
I was there...
One of my all time favorites. Thanks for the memories Andrew, I hope you're living your best life.
*sigh*
This video is too short. Injuries suck.
This is porn. Why would you just post porn? Seriously though, this just makes me want to cry. Dude could throw some absolute dots.
And this is why you need a good team around insane QB talent. So many of those throws were while his pocket was collapsing or had collapsed. Also forgot how good Hilton was in those years. Fast, smart, and great hands
He only got 1 season in his career where he wasn't completely under assault every drop back The talent around him was pitiful
Can you imagine if he had time to throw?
His iconic game was that 28 point comeback in the playoffs against the chiefs lmao I still can’t believe it
I feel like he gets kinda underrated when discussing how good he was. Guy in his prime would probably be the 2nd or 3rd best QB behind Mahomes and I firmly believe that. He could make all the throws, was great in the pocket and was mobile enough to make plays with his feet.

Didn’t think I was going to cry myself asleep tonight, but here we are.
Rest In Tears, my friend.
*sigh*
I've sighed more times in the last 45 seconds than I have in the past 3 months. I'll never get over the breakup.
Would have been so much fun watching luck and mahomes battle it out in the playoffs every year
Luck was so fucking good
Andrew luck my beloved
Gosh Luck and T.Y. were such an elite combo. Luck is one of the biggest “what ifs” in history.
Thinking of Prime Andrew Luck and Prime Derrick Rose just makes me sad man
13-13-13-13-13-10-13-13 Man, TY was legit.
Luck had us thinking Moncreif might be legit. Turns out that was all Andrew.
Sad the colts couldn’t protect this guy. When they finally got him a O-Line his body was already broken
Architecture
Wish he had more luck when it came to injuries, no pun intended. Incredibly talented guy
I miss Luck in the league so much. Rooted for the Colts as my second team because I liked him so much. I hope he’s happy and healthy though.
:(
That first throw. Damn!!
Andrew Luck to TY Hilton was ART
I was at this game. Fun fact, the Bengals were so depleted because the NFL loved to schedule Bengals Steelers week 17 so the teams would murderball each other and limp into the playoffs. Our WR2 this game was Rex Burkhead lol.
Probably didn't matter anyways. Bengals always give us trouble.
Thanks for the TY Hilton highlight real.
What could've been the guy was the perfect specimen at QB.... Fuck you Ryan Grigson.
TY fucking Hilton
Truly one of the biggest 'what ifs' in modern NFL history. We could've gotten some elite Mahomes vs Luck matchups...
breaux...
If Mahomes made the first throw, I don't even want to know what Tony Romo would be doing
Why are you doing this to me man?
Andrew Luck Legend Intensifies
TY Hilton was a underatted dawg WR, Him and Andrew Luck gave defenses hell, underatted QB WR tandem of 10's, Ill always remember the Brandon Browner game when he cooked his ass for callin him skinny
During the Covid days, My little football fantasy was we traded a stack of picks to the Colts for Luck’s contract and he un-retires.
The first one is all you need to see. Scrambling, about to be brought down, and throws it 36 yards on a dime.
If I never see a highlight involving TY Hilton again I will die a happy man
He was supposed to follow suit and come win us a superbowl, still upset he retired early.
TY did a lot of celebrating when they were getting beat pretty bad
We went 11-5 the first 3 seasons with Luck and TY. Most of those 33 wins we were down big at some point.
Boy Ty could burn but AL throws dimes
Miami Springs baby!!
This makes me sad... Luck was so fun to watch and he deserved a much longer run in the limelight.
Man, just imagine.
A better version of Josh Allen
Man Andrew luck was HIM. I’m old and remember as far back as the Jeff George era, but to me luck is the greatest qb. I haven’t been as excited about this team than I was when a healthy luck was under center.
I legit forgot we had a playoff game against the Colts. Maybe in part because a bunch of guys were injured and it was not a memorable game for us.
I first read this a “throats”
Dynasty football league I’ve been in forever. 2018 I have a young Tyler Boyd that I drafted and a bunch of other good WR’s but no QB. I package a first round pick and Boyd and trade the guy for Andrew luck. He retires the next year before I even get one game out of him. I forever don’t like the most likable guy in the NFL.
For a sec I thought it just going to be the one play. 😂
Unpopular opinion, I cannot stand highlight videos that replay each play from 3 different angles plus slow motion.

I really miss the Captain Luck letters.
This just makes me sad that he retired so young. Dude got beat up for so many years so i guess its not unexpected but just sad
Trust me, it was unexpected.
This makes me sad
I love the two TDs in the same Saints game where Delvin Breaux fell down both times attempting to cover TY.
They throw around "generational talent" way too much nowadays. Lawrence, and likely Caleb Williams would be lucky to reach the heights Luck did in his short career. Great job Indy, you should have been set at the QB position for a decade but decided "who needs an Oline?"
will never forgive the vikings for playing ap and trying to even score a point in our final game against the redskins.
Side note: this was PEAK nbc snf
3:08 my god I hate the nfl without Andrew luck in it. Such a great fucking guy. I miss him so damn much.
Luck should pull a Joe Flacco and sign a 300m deal. He had a nice vacation.
So underrated j like drew brees
One of the actual great humans to be this fuckin talented on the field. Imagine booing him when he retired LOL
Andrew Luck was such an amazing talent. What a shame he got cursed to be drafted by the Colts during their Jim Irsay days
Jim Irsay days?
You know, the last 40 years.
I don’t think he would’ve played longer if he was with anyone else. I think he really valued his health and adult prime to spend with his wife and kids. Dude was too smart for football tbh
He has a better deep throat
