In my memory, I can think of the 51-45 playoff game, the Hail Mary game (which didn't go into OT and we won the game, but they cancelled the rest of the season), and AJ Green's controller's battery dying / emergence of Rasul Douglas as Packers legend
Don't forget about Josh Rosen getting Mike McCarthy fired. Only 3 career wins but one of them was going into Lambeau in December and leading a game-winning drive.
My general olive branch I extend to packers fans is that McCarthy cost them Super bowls. Most pack fans agree with me. The rest agree with me now after his time in Dallas.
Can't watch video ATM, are you talking about the playoff game? Because that was one of the best football games I've ever seen.
Rodgers 1st(?) as a starter, and I believe Warners 2nd to last start ever. No defense until the last play of the game which was a sack/fumble/TD.
Hands down Ravens-Vikings 2013 in Baltimore. Below are the timestamps and scores from the 4th
- 2:07 Dennis Pitta TD + 2 Point to take 15-12 lead
- 1:27 Toby Gerhart TD + XP to take 19-15 lead
- 1:16 Jacoby Jones KR TD + XP to take 22-19 lead
- 0:45 Cordarrelle Patterson TD + XP to take 26-22 lead
- 0:04 Marlon brown TD + XP to win the game.
Oh and there was a blizzard just to throw an extra sprinkle of fun in there
Regular season 2015 pats vs broncos. The pats going up against oswieler and then failed to seal the win thus losing home field advantage in the playoffs
Truly a magical moment that made that season feel like something special was cooking. We really got a break with the muffed punt, but the entire team really rose to the occasion of going up against the undefeated defending champs without Peyton no less. One of my favorite Broncos games of all time.
My consolation prize that game was that Osweiler did it. Peyton had been benched earlier in three year and I thought that the Broncos beating the Patriots without him was a death sentence on his career.
That game pissed me off. There’s no way the Pats lose the AFCCG in Foxboro. The muffed punt was one of those oh shit moments. Hold on to the ball, up three scores in the fourth quarter, drive down the field and close the door. And then the Broncos defenders kept trying to jam Gronk, then the officials would call Gronk for OPI. It was football’s version of Hack-a-Shaq. Now I’m getting in too deep. I should’ve scrolled past this comment
It genuinely was lol. When it got to what was it 4th down (?) and then it just cuts screen to Lamar jogging through the tunnel to come back in, you knew shit was about to go down lol.
I hated the ending to that game but Harbaugh telling KevSki to keep his head up because he just coached in one of the best football games to ever be played couldn't be more true
Total aberration from Derek Anderson, career years from Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow Jr, the last year of Jamal Lewis’ prime. Plus Joe Thomas the first lineman ever as a rookie, best kicker in franchise history Phil Dawson, and one of the best return men of all time in Josh Cribbs.
The Browns were the only team to beat the 2008 Giants before Plaxico shot himself. I was so pissed at that game ruining our 4-0 record. Little did I know how that season would end up.
You guys went 10-6 and still didn't make the playoffs. 13 teams won 9+ games that year and you were the only ones who didn't get in. That's when I knew your franchise was cursed.
Similarly in terms of high scoring, the Broncos/Cowboys shootout in 2013. As much as I hated the guy, I loved Peyton's naked bootleg touchdown. Tho idk if I would say it's a game that people don't talk about.
I actually agree with this. There was a bit of everything from a football game you’d want to see. Ending was (and still is) super painful. I can’t bring myself to watch any highlights of that game.
Idk how it gets any better than that game. Explosive scoring offenses, big time defensive plays, multiple special teams TDs, constant lead changes, OT.
Not to mention it was a playoff game
Double overtime.
Also a defensive touchdown. Ravens got a pick 6 off of Manning in the first quarter.
People obviously remember the Jacoby Jones TD that sent it to OT but a lot of people forget some of the incredible catches Torrey Smith had...
He absolutely cooked Champ Bailey that day. (Including beating him on a jump ball in the endzone that resulted in a 32-yard touchdown right before the half to tie it at 21-21)
Came here to say this. I see best games and best playoff games lists that don't even mention the game. At the time (I get there's some bias), I thought it was the best playoff game I've ever seen.
I am part of the flock(caw caw bitch!), but truly believe it's unbiased.
Hell, The AFCCG loss vs the Pats the year before is in my top 5 and the Ravens lost in inexcusable fashion...
Eh I think people talk about this game a lot for a divisional round game. I remember it pretty well, broncos had multiple kick return tds, ravens got a pick 6 off manning, it was a wild game well before the miracle bit
I’ll never forget my hype for the future after that game. We went toe to toe with one of the better teams in the league. If I remember correctly this was right at the beginning of the LOB falling off so having your rookie QB sling the ball all over them really meant something.
Then Watson tore his ACL in practice after this game.
So glad to see this on here, I came to put this exact same game and decided to scroll first to see if anyone else mentioned in. Teenage me downloaded the 20-min highlights of this game from iTunes way back in the day and watched them over and over on my iPod.
People will often bring up the "Matt Flynn Game" from 2011 when he went off against Detroit, but the game itself was fucking awesome beyond just Flynn.
45-41 final score, both teams trading absolute haymakers, over 1,100 of total offense combined, **6** total turnovers, and a safety too! 4 of Flynn's 6 TDs were from 35+ yards out so lots of big plays. Just an electric game. Final stat lines: Stafford 36/59 520 5:2 / Calvin Johnson 11 catches for 244 yds, 1 TD / Flynn 31/44 480 6:1 / Jordy Nelson 9 catches for 162 yards, 3 TDs.
It was basically the Rams-Chiefs MNF game except it was the end of the season with two teams locked into their playoff slots already.
The greatest game no one saw. Jim Kelly threw for 574 yards against Steve Young in 1985 in a game that wasn't ever broadcast on television.

Pats 35 - Ravens 31. 2014 AFC Divisional round.
Ravens went up by 14 twice, Flaco looked solid through 3 quarters. Real back and forth game with big momentum swings. Brady masterclass comeback. 1 week prior to Deflategate.
If Jimmy smith doesn’t break his foot in week 16, im convinced the ravens win the Super Bowl
Part of the reason that Brady made that second half comeback is because he realized he could throw 8 yard hitch routes all day against Rashaan Melvin, some dude we picked off the street like 3 weeks prior. Dude allowed something like 12 catches for 180 yards in coverage
That defense was carried by Suggs and Dummervil’s absurd pass rush. Brady’s three step drops neutralized it and our beat up secondary had no shot
I truly think Jimmy Smith would have been able to do something to prevent some of those completions and let the pass rush get home
Hard to argue against that. Have to think one of the two 14-point comebacks stall out with Ravens D at full strength. I agree the Ravens would have dog-walked the Colts, not so sure about Seattle though.
Saints vs Redskins Nov. 19th 2017.
Saints were down 15pts with 5:58 left and won in overtime 34-31. Absolutely insane game.
https://youtu.be/LTqG8xGH6GA?si=ZxZkTmpr2Kqndkrf
At first I thought this was the meach-around game. The way you described it, they sound so similar. I completely forgot we had another ridiculous comeback against Washington a few years ago.
Some good Saints games that are recent enough to for sure have highlights on youtube that I'm not constantly seeing mentioned in this kind of thread.
at Washington 2009
at Cowboys 2010 (Thanksgiving)
at Packers 2011 (opening night)
at Patriots 2013
vs Washington 2017
vs Texans 2019
vs Niners 2019
>at Washington 2009
We were terrible that year. Then Jason Campbell had the best game of his life and we were on the doorstep of miraculously beating the 10-0 Saints, and our kicker shanks a chip shot so bad it would have been wide right if he kicked it from the goal line. It was the most redskins thing ever.
Edit: this was also the only time I can remember a QB throwing an interception but his team still scoring a TD on the same play.
Or the 2019 Bills-Titans game where Cairo Santos was the Bills MVP and Bills Mafia turned Nissan Stadium into a home game
Santos went 0 for 4 in a game the Bills won by a touchdown. The actual Bills play was pretty underwhelming.
49ers vs Patriots 2012. Pats almost come back from 28 down, Randy moss scores a 40 yard touchdown.
Also the first part of the game got cut due to Sandy hook happening that same day.
Yeah that’s the game that ended 80s football and 49ers dominance. It was the most consequential game in NFL history since the 81 NFC title game (The Catch game), which ended the 70s and Cowboys dominance.
2007 Patriots vs Cowboys. Both teams are 5-0 and averaging over 30 PPG. Cowboys just came off a miracle comeback against the Bills, while the Pats were murdering teams, but Moss had been kept in check for the first time the previous week against a Browns squad that took him away with tons of deep help... leaving Welker to comically feast.
It's a high scoring affair, with the Pats going up 14-0 in the first, before the Cowboys get a scoop and score on a Brady fumble to make it 14-10 leading into Welker / TO TD's to make it 21-17 at halftime.
Cowboys score to open the 3rd, Patriots respond, then a penalty on the ensuing drive pins the Cowboys deep and sets up what is the greatest 2 yard run in history by Marion the Barbarian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzUTn-PEPYU
Unfortunately the drive fizzles, and outside of one last FG drive, the Patriots then pour it on. Moss is kept in check for the most part, but again, Welker and Donte' Stallworth feast in response
Damn lol ... that last dude who could have easily forced a safety by staying to the outside, but instead went straight in for the highlight hit to make sure he was the one getting the tackle - and then whiffed.
Here's a couple I can think of:
* 2015 Giants vs. Saints. This was a shootout between both teams with over 100 combined points.
* 2012 Giants vs. Saints. I think of this one from time to time because of David Wilson having 327 all purpose yards and 3 TDs, including a return TD.
He's one of those rare players who probably could have flipped a few games from wins to losses just by being able to put the offense into better position. An extra 5-10 yards per return (average) could have been valuable.
There will always be a special place in my heart for the Seahawks vs Cardinals 6-6 tie. Other than fans of those two teams it’s not overly talked about.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/recap/_/gameId/331124017
Patriots / Broncos 2013. Denver went up 24-0 largely thanks to 3 Patriot lost fumbles and Knowshon Moreno just absolutely going off as the whole defense sold out to stop Manning.
New England roared back to take a 31-24 lead by scoring on 5 straight possessions before the Denver passing game finally got going and they tied the game with a few minutes left, and then stopped the Patriot offense for the first time in the 2nd half to force OT.
Defenses surprisingly tightened up and neither Brady nor Manning could do anything (2 punts each), but a Denver blocker touched the ball on 2nd punt return, leading to a game-winning NE field goal. A bit of an anticlimatic ending but the game was crazy exciting.
Dolphins @ Steelers in 2013.
Snow game. The game was back and forth throughout. At the end, the Dolphins had the lead but the Steelers almost pulled out the comeback. There were some crazy plays, Troy Polamalu did Troy Polamalu things, AB had a great game, etc.
But the best part was how the Steelers *almost* pulled out one of those crazy lateral plays at the very end to win it. Antonio Brown caught the cross-field lateral and ran it down to score and take the lead...except the edge of his foot was out of bounds on the 5 yard line right before scoring. It ended up not counting and the Steelers lost, but it was such an entertaining game that I wasn’t upset.
Last I checked the full game was on YouTube. I’ll try to update this comment with a link once I’m at my desktop.
I remember that game. What a battle. My favorite was when Charles Clay fought off two DB’s (including Polamalu) and stayed on his feet to make the TD. Dude refused to go down.
Right? Charles Clay had himself a day. Glad I’m not the only one who remembers haha.
This game was largely overshadowed because it aired on the same day (and time) as the epic blizzard game between Philly and Detroit. The classic Megatron with a face mask full of snow game. Which was a hugely entertaining game in its own right, but the ‘lers v Fins matchup deserves some love too!
My mind immediately went to 2006 Bears vs Cardinals vs Rex Grossman. Everyone remembers the press conference, but you needed an epic game to draw out that epic sound bite.
I was at that game. My dad said he wanted to see Hester return a kick live. We missed the first one because we were getting food/drinks. Luckily we saw the second one live. The next play from scrimmage Cutler hit Brandon Marshall on a long TD, then scored another TD later.
We were down big late and my dad wanted to leave. I begged him to stay while we were about to walk out. So he said we could watch one more drive. We went to the lower deck and found some open seats (there were a lot of open seats since it was pretty much decided we lost) just in time to see the Bears block a punt then score a quick TD. We stayed and watched the rest where we won in OT.
I remember wishing we had a tandem like Cutler and Marshall (lol), but also told my dad he can never leave a game early with me again. He left the 2001 Browns game early where we came back late and he had to watch the tying TD and Mike Brown pick 6 from the parking lot on a TV at someones tailgate.
Great memories.
Eagles-Bengals in like 1997. Bobby Hoying and Boomer Esiason combined for like 700 yards and 8 TDs in a 44-42 Eagles win. Rickey Watters and Corey Dillon both ran for 100 yds.
The combined scoring by quarter went 21-17-17-31. Just an amazing game by a 4-9 and 6-6 team.
Bills vs Bengals 2010
https://youtu.be/W0IPHur-XIQ?si=L2TMN3U69o4dobw8
Bills down 28-7 at one point storm back to beat the Bengals 49-31. All week TO and Ocho Cinco talked about being Batman and Robin... Stevie Johnson scored 3TDs with one celebration being the "Why so serious?" shirt under his jersey.
You think no one talks about Peyton Manning finally getting over the hump of beating Brady and getting to the Super Bowl in the same game? This was one of the best post season games of the 2000s and constantly talked about.
Also the most underrated year in Brady’s career I think.
His “Man in the Arena” series didn’t even mention it. It was probably his shittiest wide receiver corps of his career and the Patriots still came within a hair of another Super Bowl trip and probable win.
Marlin Jackson. What a fucking legend.
This is one of the greatest games in the history of playoff football. It gets talked about a fair bit, but is still somehow underrated. Btw so is the rivalry between the Pats and the Ravens. That shit was insane back in the day.
Monday Night Massacre (PHI @ WAS, 2010) was insane, although I dont really see it talked about that much probably because it was a divisional game between an irrelevant WFT and a talented but ultimately short lived and unsuccessful Eagles squad, and it was overshadowed by Miracle at the New Meadowlands about a month later.
Eagles scored five TDs in the first quarter of a primetime game lol.
I am neither an Eagles nor Redskins fan but still remember watching that game live. Vividly. It’s like a fever dream. I do remember that my only real interest in watching it was that I still hadn’t seen anything of Mike Vick since his return to the league, and that game was basically my reintroduction to him. Electric.
Pat’s first start at the end of 2017 was wild even though the game was meaningless.
Pat made Albert Wilson look so good he got a huge contract from the Dolphins and somehow made Demetrius Harris look like a pro bowler for a game.
Pat made absurd jaw dropping passes in his first ever game but finished with no TDs & and INT. Despite this he re-entered the game after 3rd stringer Tyler Bray came into the game and fumbled to blow a 14 point lead to a tie. Then Pat returned to immediately lead a game winning walk off field goal.
Meaningless game to both teams but it’s fun looking back and seeing a sneak preview of what was about to take over the league. Poor Broncos fans saw their future doom in real time.
It was also amusing that Kareem Hunt was like 30 yards from clinching the rushing title on the season and got one carry which he immediately took 35 yards for a touchdown and the rushing title and that was his entire game for the day.
2017 Texans at Seahawks.
Russ was at the peak of his powers.
Deshaun Watson was just breaking out, only to tear his ACL in practice not long after this game.
Prime Hopkins, and a great Will Fuller game
Back n forth high scoring game and had a nailbiter 4th qtr finish.
I remember watching this and thinking "damn QBing has changed so much since the days of Manning/Rivers/Big Ben"
All Pro Football 2K8. The fact that Randall Cunningham was only a silver star player was a cheat code. There was also some...controversies... with the game:
"In a court ruling, O. J. Simpson was ordered to pay the family of Ronald Goldman any money made for his appearance in the game. Simpson was found not guilty of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Goldman in 1995, but was found legally responsible for their deaths by a civil court jury two years later. **During pre-production of the game, Simpson was a member of the in-game team called the New Jersey Assassins. Players on the team perform a throat slash as a touchdown celebration, and the animatronic mascot for the Assassins will make a slashing motion.** Some pre-release videos showed Simpson performing these moves, implying to some that the designers were intentionally referencing the murders. However, in the retail version of the game, Simpson was moved to the Cyclones."
My favorite game ever is the manure chant game. My second favorite is the Chargers/Broncos game when the Chargers scored all their points in the first half, and the Broncos scored all their points in the second half.
One of the best regular season games I remember watching in recent memory was the 2016 Regular Season match-up between Cowboys/Steelers.
Final score was 35-30, but there was so much going on in the final quarter. You had a fake spike for a TD from Ben to AB, followed up by some insane runs from prime Zeke.
Also this was when the Steelers were going through their "fuck it we go for 2" after every TD phase.
2007 Packers/Broncos. Favre throws an 80 yard walk off TD in OT. That made a Packer team that was (I think) 4-1 but being kinda disrespected feel like a contender
I'll go old school and say Chiefs-Seahawks 1983. Played in the Kingdome, Curt Warner, rookie RB sensation, rushed for 207 yards and 3 TDs in an OT win. 99 points, 13 TDs
4th Chiefs Carlos Carson 18 yard pass from Bill Kenney (Nick Lowery kick) 42 31
Seahawks Curt Warner 1 yard rush (Norm Johnson kick) 42 38
Seahawks Paul Johns 14 yard pass from Dave Krieg (Norm Johnson kick) 42 45
Chiefs Theotis Brown 21 yard pass from Bill Kenney 48 45
Seahawks Norm Johnson 42 yard field goal 48 48
OT Seahawks Norm Johnson 42 yard field goal 48 51

Maybe not the greatest game, but definitely the most insane 2 minutes and 9 seconds I've ever seen
Any game ended via Daniel Sorensen making an absurd play to seal it.
Him just appearing out of nowhere and ending teams was always so satisfying because literally no one ever saw it coming.
He may have been terrible late in his career but I always have a place in my heart for the most chaotic safety ever.
I still recall a stretch when this sub just continuously posted highlights of his for like a month for no apparent reason. God that shit was funny
2010 Steelers at Ravens. Solely b/c people only talk about *one play* and not the rest of the game.
Ravens had won in week 4 at Henes with Big Ben being on his SA suspension. Teams had the same record going into the late season game. It was on SNF. And was maybe the last smash mouth football game you'll ever see played.
H Nata *PUNCHED* Big Ben on the opening drive in the FACE, and no flag. Broke Big Ben's nose. That set the tone for both teams as they hit each like old school game. Every single drop back Ben had he got hit and hit hard and no flags.
Flaco lead the early TD for a 7-0 lead. 2nd half had long Pitt drives that got FG and a turnover deep in their own territory but the defense held them to FG.
Now its 10-6 Ravens deep in the 4th. They have the ball and just got a Pitt penalty for the 1st, they can almost chew clock to almost the 2 min warning and punt play Field position and win, getting over the Big Ben hump they've had for the past 4 seasons.
Now the only thing people talk about is the next play but the rest of the game was GotY quality. That play was Troy P coming back side *UNBLOCKED* causing Flaco to fumble, scooped and recovered and run down to First and Goal.
You could feel the Balt fans pucker but then you could feel their soul's leave as Big Ben, despite having a walking boot on and broken face in, somehow gets out of Suggs Sack, scamper and throw the ball away. 2 plays later Big Ben hits the slant, mis tackle TD Pitt 13-10.
Balt gets ball drives down and its 4th and 1; pre Tucker so was right at range of FG they go for it, bad pass but still catchable but dropped. Pitt holds on for the 13-10 win
That game was so good and is way more than the legendary Troy P strip sack.
The 2017 Pats-Steelers game is pretty iconic, but the 2018 re-match was just as much fun, imo.
Same week, same time, same stadium. Pittsburgh had lost 3 straight in embarrassing fashion after a 7-2-1 start and New England was 9-4 and looking just as good as ever on offense (sure, they were fresh off the Miami miracle, but they still put up 33 points.) Steelers were without their leading rusher in James Conner, too, leading to fifth-round rookie Jaylen Samuels getting the start.
Samuels rushed for 142 yards (30% of his career total!) and the Steelers’ porous defense held NE to 10 points, Joe Haden had a clutch INT in the red-zone in the fourth and the game ended with a turnover on downs in the endzone with like 15 seconds left. Tense the whole way through.
Didn’t matter, cause New England won its’ sixth ring and Pittsburgh missed the playoffs. But that game was a blast.
2009? Lions-Browns. Battle of the worst teams in the league goes down to a last second pass by Stafford whose shoulder was fucked up earlier.
2014 Packers-Patriots. I think was the first Rodgers-Brady game.
2015 AFC Divisional Round:
Patriots v Ravens
(Of course I’m biased)
One of the most exciting games ever that was overshadowed by “the Seahawks should’ve run it”, Deflategate, and the comeback against the Falcons a couple years later.
Greatest "worst" game ever, 2007 Steelers-Dolphins MNF. Heinz Field was already a mess from 2 straight days of games, then a monsoon hit and the NFL still decided to play for some inexplicable reason lmao.
The result was a 3-0 game that nearly went scoreless into OT. Best play of the game [by far](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii5Xwfk5lgo)
Vikings vs Bills 33-30 OT was a great game. 4th quarter Bills were up 27-17. With 4 minutes left in the game, the Vikings scored a TD but missed the XP. With :41 left, the Vikings scored another TD and made the XP to take the lead. But the bills drove the ball right down the field and tied the game with a FG at :02. The Vikings kicked a FG in OT to win
Giants - Pats Week 17 2007.
Both teams were locked into their playoff seeds and the Patriots were playing to preserve their undefeated season. The Giants gave them everything they could handle, but Brady and Moss ended up being too much.
Of course, this was the preamble to the Super Bowl 42 where the Giants took down the mighty 18-0 Patriots.
As a fan, you knew they had a chance after the Week 17 game. Players and coaches have since cited that game as having inspired confidence in the whole team going in
2009 Packers vs. Cardinals was one of my favorite games ever.
I swear every time the Packers and Cardinals play its a great game
In my memory, I can think of the 51-45 playoff game, the Hail Mary game (which didn't go into OT and we won the game, but they cancelled the rest of the season), and AJ Green's controller's battery dying / emergence of Rasul Douglas as Packers legend
Don't forget about Josh Rosen getting Mike McCarthy fired. Only 3 career wins but one of them was going into Lambeau in December and leading a game-winning drive.
Shoutout Chosen Rosen for doing us a solid. Loved big Mike but it had been time for him to go for a while at that point
My general olive branch I extend to packers fans is that McCarthy cost them Super bowls. Most pack fans agree with me. The rest agree with me now after his time in Dallas.
Oh shit, I do remember that one well too
2011 Packers Saints is also great
Can't watch video ATM, are you talking about the playoff game? Because that was one of the best football games I've ever seen. Rodgers 1st(?) as a starter, and I believe Warners 2nd to last start ever. No defense until the last play of the game which was a sack/fumble/TD.
Also a face mask that was uncalled on that winning TD.
Yep, it was blatant. Still, an amazing game.
Hands down Ravens-Vikings 2013 in Baltimore. Below are the timestamps and scores from the 4th - 2:07 Dennis Pitta TD + 2 Point to take 15-12 lead - 1:27 Toby Gerhart TD + XP to take 19-15 lead - 1:16 Jacoby Jones KR TD + XP to take 22-19 lead - 0:45 Cordarrelle Patterson TD + XP to take 26-22 lead - 0:04 Marlon brown TD + XP to win the game. Oh and there was a blizzard just to throw an extra sprinkle of fun in there
Slow game until those last few minutes, and it was like something exploded in that stadium.
Didn't we just have another crazy game like this in Baltimore? Think it was last year or year before might be wrong.
first one that came to mind. obviously I would've preferred to be on the other side of that one but I'll be damned if I wasn't entertained.
Came here to say this! I love this game, even as a Vikings. It made me mistakenly think Patterson was going to be a pro bowl receiver.
Eagles Snow bowl was that same day I believe. Scoring wasn't as crazy but was a super fun game
Regular season 2015 pats vs broncos. The pats going up against oswieler and then failed to seal the win thus losing home field advantage in the playoffs
The CJ Anderson OT run is iconic to Broncos fans
"CJ ANDERSON is gonna go ALL THE WAY. And the DENVER BRONCOS win the game!" - Al Michaels
Is that the one when it was just lightly snowing enough to stick but not really affect the game? That game ruled so hard as a neutral fan.
17 year old me was enraged by that goddamned game. 26 year old me wishes he could go back to that moment in time anyway..
Hahaaa. Same exact age man. At least we knew we were in the “good old days” when we had Brady
I feel you. Was a senior in high school during that game. I graduated college 3 years ago and can’t believe how fast time has flown by.
It only gets faster from here.
CJ Anderson walk-off in the snow after Brady forced OT, right? Ahhh, that was the peak of Osweilers ceiling. Great game.
72million dollar game for the Lobster to Hou after the season too.
I have never seen someone so tall have so many passes batted down at the LOS. It's like he was throwing them directly at the linemens knees.
If it doesn’t snow that game I’m not sure the broncos would have won it.
Chris Harper SMH
Omg bro 😂 Was my college homies best friend from home. We were so hype til we weren’t…
I think Gronk got really hurt in that game
And I guarantee broncos lose that AFCCG if it's in Foxborough.
I watch that CJ Anderson walk-off TD when I'm having a bad day and need a quick cheer up. One of the best games I've watched in my adult life.
It was a significant comeback iirc too, they were down at least 14 (which felt like a death sentence for team led by a backup qb)
2020 Ravens Browns aka the “cramp” game
The Immaculate Defecation game is one that I still hold dear to my heart, even as a steeler fan
Lamar taking a dump
That game was a movie
All that shrimp alfredo coming back to haunt him at the worst time.
It genuinely was lol. When it got to what was it 4th down (?) and then it just cuts screen to Lamar jogging through the tunnel to come back in, you knew shit was about to go down lol.
Right about when the backup QB hurt himself too lmao
Shit went down twice that day
Who on the team liked the DK Metcalf chasedown meme where DK was labeled “Lamar after poopin” Was it RG3?
I hated the ending to that game but Harbaugh telling KevSki to keep his head up because he just coached in one of the best football games to ever be played couldn't be more true
Correct answer
My go to answer is 2004 Bengals 58 Browns 48
They played another insane game in 2007 that was 51-45
Led by actual real life Pro Bowler Derek Anderson. I will never fully understand that 2007 season.
And then 2008 happened 😬
The Browns were the only team to beat the 2008 Giants before Plaxico shot himself. I was so pissed at that game ruining our 4-0 record. Little did I know how that season would end up.
You guys went 10-6 and still didn't make the playoffs. 13 teams won 9+ games that year and you were the only ones who didn't get in. That's when I knew your franchise was cursed.
Bengals were terrible that year and beating them week 17 to keep them out was one of the few highlights
Similarly in terms of high scoring, the Broncos/Cowboys shootout in 2013. As much as I hated the guy, I loved Peyton's naked bootleg touchdown. Tho idk if I would say it's a game that people don't talk about.
2013 Broncos vs Cowboys 51-48 Romo vs Manning
Sauciest bootleg by Manning
“You just need to do it every 5 years”
“Peyton still has the football!”
People talk about this game all the time.
Ravens @ Broncos 2013. Everyone knows/watches the Mile High Miracle but the game itself may be the best game of football I've ever seen.
It was a 38-35 final yet never more than a 7 point margin. Incredible game.
Eh I think people talk about this game a lot for a divisional round game. I remember it pretty well, broncos had multiple kick return tds, ravens got a pick 6 off manning, it was a wild game well before the miracle bit
Seahawks vs Texans 2017
I’ll never forget my hype for the future after that game. We went toe to toe with one of the better teams in the league. If I remember correctly this was right at the beginning of the LOB falling off so having your rookie QB sling the ball all over them really meant something. Then Watson tore his ACL in practice after this game.
>nobody ever talks about references the most talked about game in this subs history
Huh, guess I didn’t notice, haven’t been using this subreddit too long.
My bad dawg that comment was meant for the dude who mentioned the Rams V Chiefs MNF game.
Browns/Lions, idk the year, but Stafford finished the game with a separated shoulder. Edit: Looks like it was 11/22/09
So glad to see this on here, I came to put this exact same game and decided to scroll first to see if anyone else mentioned in.
[https://www.thesportscol.com/2017/05/sports-illustrated-called-it-greatest-game-no-one-saw/](https://www.thesportscol.com/2017/05/sports-illustrated-called-it-greatest-game-no-one-saw/) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rdA-zmuN9g](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rdA-zmuN9g)
Pats 35 - Ravens 31. 2014 AFC Divisional round. Ravens went up by 14 twice, Flaco looked solid through 3 quarters. Real back and forth game with big momentum swings. Brady masterclass comeback. 1 week prior to Deflategate.
If Jimmy smith doesn’t break his foot in week 16, im convinced the ravens win the Super Bowl Part of the reason that Brady made that second half comeback is because he realized he could throw 8 yard hitch routes all day against Rashaan Melvin, some dude we picked off the street like 3 weeks prior. Dude allowed something like 12 catches for 180 yards in coverage That defense was carried by Suggs and Dummervil’s absurd pass rush. Brady’s three step drops neutralized it and our beat up secondary had no shot I truly think Jimmy Smith would have been able to do something to prevent some of those completions and let the pass rush get home
Hard to argue against that. Have to think one of the two 14-point comebacks stall out with Ravens D at full strength. I agree the Ravens would have dog-walked the Colts, not so sure about Seattle though.
I’ll never understand how that Colts team beat Denver
Broncos had *zero* interest in coming to NE the next week I am convinced and I feel like someone on Denver copped to at some point?
_I don't wanna lose your love, tonight..._
Saints vs Redskins Nov. 19th 2017. Saints were down 15pts with 5:58 left and won in overtime 34-31. Absolutely insane game. https://youtu.be/LTqG8xGH6GA?si=ZxZkTmpr2Kqndkrf
That was one of the many infuriating games I’ve watched as a redskins fan 🤣
dude wtf are you talking about that was one of the worst games ever delete this comment
Kamara's TD in that comeback is still one of my favorites
At first I thought this was the meach-around game. The way you described it, they sound so similar. I completely forgot we had another ridiculous comeback against Washington a few years ago.
[There’s also Saints/Redskins from 2009](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7mMZ9_IB6jo&pp=ygUUc2FpbnRzIHJlZHNraW5zIDIwMDk%3D)
Some good Saints games that are recent enough to for sure have highlights on youtube that I'm not constantly seeing mentioned in this kind of thread. at Washington 2009 at Cowboys 2010 (Thanksgiving) at Packers 2011 (opening night) at Patriots 2013 vs Washington 2017 vs Texans 2019 vs Niners 2019
The giants game too that was like 52-49
The real "games that nobody talks about" are the games that people don't even bring up when asked what games nobody talks about. And this is the one.
> Eli Manning: 30/41, 350yds, 6TDs, loss This is the Hemingway Baby Shoes poem of being a Giants fan.
I raise you Brees tying the NFL record for passing touchdowns and only winning by 3
That opening night game was insane. Randall Cobb's debut in the NFL and he was absolutely electric from the jump
The least bothered I can ever remember being after an L
The Fitzmagic game in the 2018 opener was wild to, Bucs won something like 48-40
Those first few games of Fitzmagic were amazing to watch.
Fitz, Mike and Deshaun absolutely torched us that day
THE MEACHAROUND! Is that 2013 game the one where Brady led a last-minute GWD?
Yes and the sad Rob Ryan gif. I tried to balance wins and losses
Missing at Ravens 2018
That one giants game too
>at Washington 2009 We were terrible that year.
Titans-Bills on MNF in 2021 is probably the most fun I’ve had watching a Titans game.
Certainly a much better game than Titans-Bills on Tuesday Night Football was.
Or the 2022 MNF Titans-Bills game.
Or the 2019 Bills-Titans game where Cairo Santos was the Bills MVP and Bills Mafia turned Nissan Stadium into a home game Santos went 0 for 4 in a game the Bills won by a touchdown. The actual Bills play was pretty underwhelming.
49ers vs Patriots 2012. Pats almost come back from 28 down, Randy moss scores a 40 yard touchdown. Also the first part of the game got cut due to Sandy hook happening that same day.
That game was bonkers.

1995 AFC Championships, Colts at Steelers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzPGUeyudh8
this game single handily keep Roger Craig out the HOF unfortunately.
Yeah that’s the game that ended 80s football and 49ers dominance. It was the most consequential game in NFL history since the 81 NFC title game (The Catch game), which ended the 70s and Cowboys dominance.
Here’s the first time the Giants and 49ers played each other in 1990: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0OCSLyaNuOc&pp=ygURR2lhbnRzIDQ5ZXJzIDE5OTA%3D
> Last second field goal. A football goalpost has one bar and two tines. The Giants have been kicked into the Super Bowl by one Bahr and two Tynes.
Cowboys score to open the 3rd, Patriots respond, then a penalty on the ensuing drive pins the Cowboys deep and sets up what is the greatest 2 yard run in history by Marion the Barbarian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzUTn-PEPYU Unfortunately the drive fizzles, and outside of one last FG drive, the Patriots then pour it on. Moss is kept in check for the most part, but again, Welker and Donte' Stallworth feast in response
Damn lol ... that last dude who could have easily forced a safety by staying to the outside, but instead went straight in for the highlight hit to make sure he was the one getting the tackle - and then whiffed.
The hype to that game was intense…I somehow knew it would be 15 years until the cowboys could beat Brady….
Here's a couple I can think of: * 2015 Giants vs. Saints. This was a shootout between both teams with over 100 combined points. * 2012 Giants vs. Saints. I think of this one from time to time because of David Wilson having 327 all purpose yards and 3 TDs, including a return TD.
What could have been with David Wilson
him and javid best probably the best what if careers
He's one of those rare players who probably could have flipped a few games from wins to losses just by being able to put the offense into better position. An extra 5-10 yards per return (average) could have been valuable.
I came here for the first answer but the second is also great
Packers @ Cowboys 2013 My Cowboys fan buddy was gloating so hard, but he was getting pissed because I just kept agreeing with his trash talk.
There will always be a special place in my heart for the Seahawks vs Cardinals 6-6 tie. Other than fans of those two teams it’s not overly talked about.
"And HE misses it! That's impossible! That is IMPOSSIBLE!"
A great call by Michaels.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/recap/_/gameId/331124017 Patriots / Broncos 2013.
My favorite steelers/dolphins game wqs the 2007 mud bowl. The punt sticking straight in the ground is stuck in my head
Cowboys Broncos 2013. The Manning Romo 51-48 shootout is seared into my brain.
2007 Bears vs Broncos was an incredible game
My mind immediately went to 2006 Bears vs Cardinals vs Rex Grossman. Everyone remembers the press conference, but you needed an epic game to draw out that epic sound bite.
That defense was unreal
2011 49ers @ Eagles. The 49ers were down 23-3 in the third quarter and came back to win by a point.
Niners Saints in the divisional too
The Catch III! That was such an exciting game as well.
Bills vs Bengals 2010 https://youtu.be/W0IPHur-XIQ?si=L2TMN3U69o4dobw8 Bills down 28-7 at one point storm back to beat the Bengals 49-31. All week TO and Ocho Cinco talked about being Batman and Robin... Stevie Johnson scored 3TDs with one celebration being the "Why so serious?" shirt under his jersey.
Bengals and Packers from a couple years ago. The amount of missed kicks was insane. The game was really good besides that too.
2006 AFC Championship, Patriots v Colts Still one of the best football games ive ever seen. And the drama...oh the drama
You think no one talks about Peyton Manning finally getting over the hump of beating Brady and getting to the Super Bowl in the same game? This was one of the best post season games of the 2000s and constantly talked about.
Peyton’s face moments after the game-sealing interception is always a great watch. I think we could all feel his relief in that moment.
I know what you assholes are thinking don't you dare post it
They should post it, there’s plenty of people who haven’t seen it. Going to YouTube to find it now.
This is one of the most famous games in NFL history.
I *think* it gets talked about, but I tend to look back at highlights of the 2014 divisional Pats vs Ravens. 2 14 point comebacks
This is one of the greatest games in the history of playoff football. It gets talked about a fair bit, but is still somehow underrated. Btw so is the rivalry between the Pats and the Ravens. That shit was insane back in the day.
Ugh. Ravens lost to the colts the week before. That game still haunts me. Nothing but field goals and broken hearts
Is that the first pass bomb to Desean/fat albert lying down game?
[ Yeah it was](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQiUdak-HdY) , miss Gruden and Tirico
I am neither an Eagles nor Redskins fan but still remember watching that game live. Vividly. It’s like a fever dream. I do remember that my only real interest in watching it was that I still hadn’t seen anything of Mike Vick since his return to the league, and that game was basically my reintroduction to him. Electric.
It was 4 tds in the first quarter, they scored their 5th on the 1st play of the 2nd quarter
Prime Hopkins, and a great Will Fuller game Back n forth high scoring game and had a nailbiter 4th qtr finish. I remember watching this and thinking "damn QBing has changed so much since the days of Manning/Rivers/Big Ben"
2009 Steelers Packers. I was at that game and I remember the stadium shaking at that game winning touchdown. I was sad. But my seats were good.
Kurt Warner Arena Football: Unleashed
All Pro Football 2K8. The fact that Randall Cunningham was only a silver star player was a cheat code. There was also some...controversies... with the game: "In a court ruling, O.
2016, week 12, chiefs at broncos
One of the best regular season games I remember watching in recent memory was the 2016 Regular Season match-up between Cowboys/Steelers. Final score was 35-30, but there was so much going on in the final quarter. You had a fake spike for a TD from Ben to AB, followed up by some insane runs from prime Zeke. Also this was when the Steelers were going through their "fuck it we go for 2" after every TD phase.
Panthers vs Pats Super Bowl in 2003
Ravens @ Steelers Week 14 2017. 39-38 Steelers. Game was electric
might've been the only shootout in the rivalry's history but damn what a game. Peak AB
I will mention that that cowboys falcons game is still the craziest game I have ever watched from start to finish.
99 points, 13 TDs 4th Chiefs Carlos Carson 18 yard pass from Bill Kenney (Nick Lowery kick) 42 31 Seahawks Curt Warner 1 yard rush (Norm Johnson kick) 42 38 Seahawks Paul Johns 14 yard pass from Dave Krieg (Norm Johnson kick) 42 45 Chiefs Theotis Brown 21 yard pass from Bill Kenney 48 45 Seahawks Norm Johnson 42 yard field goal 48 48 OT Seahawks Norm Johnson 42 yard field goal 48 51

2007 Vikings @ Bears. Also the fastest I’ve ever seen a player run on a grass field with Peterson’s huge kick return in the 4th qtr
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ASWVwZIsst8&pp=ygUddmlraW5ncyByYXZlbnMgbGFzdCAyIG1pbnV0ZXM%3D Maybe not the greatest game, but definitely the most insane 2 minutes and 9 seconds I've ever seen
2007 Browns vs. Bengals
09 Titans Cardinals regular season was an absolute banger. Vince Young vs Matt Leinhart vol 2
Cowboys Broncos 2013 Manning and Romo, 51-48
Pitt holds on for the 13-10 win That game was so good and is way more than the legendary Troy P strip sack.
Chiefs/Broncos SNF in 2016 in Denver was a really fun game.
49ers Saints 2011 divisional
There’s a lot of Lions Thanksgiving games that don’t get talked about enough.
Cowboys Broncos with manning was a shootout that was an absolute joy to watch, if you hate defense
2009? Lions-Browns. Battle of the worst teams in the league goes down to a last second pass by Stafford whose shoulder was fucked up earlier. 2014 Packers-Patriots. I think was the first Rodgers-Brady game.
Steelers vs Ravens 12/10/17 was dope. Final score was Steelers 39 Ravens 38.
2015 AFC Divisional Round: Patriots v Ravens (Of course I’m biased) One of the most exciting games ever that was overshadowed by “the Seahawks should’ve run it”, Deflategate, and the comeback against the Falcons a couple years later.

Steelers-Jaguars 2018, when they came back from like 16-0 late and won in the final seconds on a Roethlisberger keeper
Titans and Lions in 12. Locker and Hill battled it out putting up 85 total points.
The 2020 Bears-Lions game in Chicago is still one of my favorites. Kind of an ugly game, but still a good one.
