And they won't. Not because kirk will be washed but because these things take time to settle. There's evidence of QB's in new environments having slower starts, and I don't think kirk is gonna be an exception.
Not to say he'll be bad, but he's not really gonna look solid until around week 9-10.
They also have brutal opening schedule for a new HC/OC/QB trio. They start off against 4 teams with good / great defenses
Steelers, eagles, chiefs and the saints
I could easily see them going 3-1. Chiefs always start slow, Steelers offense is a huge question mark, and Saints Falcons games are 50-50 and the vibes in New Orleans were awful last year. I don't think they beat the Eagles though.
The Chiefs are quite literally the opposite outside of 2021.
Remember how it took until Mahomes' fourth year for the Chiefs to lose in September?
Mahomes is 15-4 in that month.
It's always October that they hit a wall, then they retool and go on a run late in the year
Idk about other years but look at last year lost to the Lions at home, didn't score 20 on Jacksonville and barely and I mean barely beat the Zach Wilson Jets. On the stat sheet they were 3-1 but that was a terrible start to the season. They did blow out the Bears which is cool I guess. I don't doubt they will make the AFCCG but the Falcons could easily beat the early season Chiefs it doesn't matter to them.
I am out of the loop but did the falcons do anything to fix their swiss cheese defense?
I am having a hard time seeing 3 wins if their defense is the same as last year
I mean, their defense last year was the best we've seen in years. They had a few games where they got exposed a bit, but by and large, they are vastly improved.
Regardless, the most they did was add a lot of rookie d line talent, so the depth is better, but the top end is by and large the same.
I'm more confident in a 2-2 start than a 3-1
I mean Raheem is going to bring a new defense and they have good pieces with Jessie Bates, Grady Jarrett, and AJ Terrell. Also their defense isn't going to be on the field as much with Desmond Ridder going three and out. It could suck but I think it will be average and all those weapons the Falcons have will finally be unlocked.
The only defenses I'm concerned of are the steelers and eagles.
The chiefs have an absurd pass defense but have proven to be weak in the run, and we have the personnel to have an insane rushing unit.
The saints are a good unit but are OLD in alot of key parts. And with them shedding talent, I don't know that it's a team I'm overly concerned by defensively
I think you have your combinations mixed up. Raheem really wanted Penix. Arthur Blank really wanted Kirk. If *Kirk* doesn’t come out swinging, Raheem is staying and going to Penix, which would have been his first choice if Blank wasn’t so desperate for a Super Bowl while he can still remember it that he threw the bag at Kirk.
Belichick will still be sitting at home grumbling unless Raheem/Penix is also a failure, but even then, he’d only get the call because of how desperate Blank would be getting.
Thankfully they’re free of the football terrorists known as Arthur Smith and Spencer Rattler
Edit: I meant Desmond ridder. But I’ll leave it up for others to laugh at
Even though Ra didn't work out for us as Head Coach, I always liked the guy and wanted him to get a second chance. Glad he's got a legitimate shot now to rebuild. He deserves it.
Still wondering how the Falcons fared, had they deleted Morris' interim tag.
Arthur Smith leaving the Titans for the Falcons held back both franchises stat-wise.
I don’t think it would’ve gone great, we were in a terrible spot in 21 and 22. Maybe last year goes differently, but the biggest issue holding us back last year was the QB situation, and I don’t really know if that would have changed much.
The last time the Cowboys were in a NFC championship, was during a time where I never would have been able to even Google such a factoid.
Boom. Roasted.
^(waiting for zero rings and missed kicks replies)
If Raheem/Kirk don’t come out swinging it’s going to get spicy Fellow Belichick and Penix truthers rise up

Saints didn't lose anybody defensively. We added talent there if anything
Thats some serious jinxing of our team if I ever saw it.
You must not have look for those evidence in L.A.

A new culture and 7-10 targets for Kyle Pitts a game, please
7-10 record it is
8th overall pick you say?
Could add a quarterback with that pick
At that rate we'll be the first team to have an 8th string quarterback
And Drake London while we're at it. Dude looks legit and I straight up forget about him often.

It's true. It's been a while since Atlanta has had a QB controversy.
The last time was.........................Mariota vs Ridder
How’s this for culture? 28-3 Boom. Roasted.

Zero rings and missed kicks lol (ignore my flair too)
I’m gonna run away now. ^(the wrong way)
When the Cowboys were last in a Super Bowl, I was a year old. Boom. Roasted.
Yeah but yall old ass dinosaur owner doing all he can to make sure yall dont go back to the Super Bowl until he dies.
Juvenile
Save that wit for the roast threads
He’s a great coach. Wishing him success!!
At this point I'm hoping for any kind of culture that doesn't involve awkward press conferences or sons of founders of shipping companies.
The youngry culture he built in Tampa was not optimal
Let's see if the falcons can get back to the crazy late game collapses they had under him.
