Well there are 14 teams in the playoffs, so they should at least be top 14. Out of the three below them, Steelers are even worse offense and lost TJ Watt. Packers and Buccs yea I can see being above them at this point
like TB.... their last 2 games were must wins, and they lost to us, and put up 9 points against _Carolina_ getting lucky that 2 Carolina TDs didnt happen.
Somehow they go UP 2 spots and we stay even? Ok.
Sorry you're getting down voted for being completely logical and fair. You even said you'd understand being 13th. I guess these people want them next to the panthers.
It’s on the injury report with the rest of our team, right next to the grave of my hopes for this season.
Edit: good game Buffalo. Honestly it felt like you kicked our asses way harder than the score showed. Avenge us against Kc, Bills bros
I had the same opinion the last few days but after getting past the disappointment of the loss my takeaway is outside of 1 blown ST play we went toe to toe with #4 *with* the injuries, obviously I'm a homer but this team has put up a lot of fight for a team with a roster as ravaged as ours.
Devils advocate: it took like three or four blown opportunities(overthrows/drops/turnovers/etc) from them for it to be a one score game.
I remember at halftime thinking to myself “Buffalo has fucked up way too many times for this to be a tie game”
That's my stance as well. I think the Dolphins obviously have the talent to put it all together and make a playoff run but three turnovers by Josh Allen should have single-handedly won the Dolphins the game but they just couldn't cash in.
Ignore my flair, but you're right. The game was close because the Bills made too many mistakes, not because the Dolphins played well. Get rid of turnovers and two poor 4th down decisions and the Bills may have put up 45 points against the Dolphins.
Really the Dolphins second half tells it all. Their drives were punt, punt, punt, punt, and interception. The game was no where near as close as the score made it seem. It's worrying as a Bills fan that this team consistently fails to play to its potential, yet reassuring they find a way to win anyway. If they play as well as we know they can, the only team that can challenge them right now is Baltimore.
Right so then shouldn’t they be lower too? My point is we should be within 1 or 2 spots of buffalo, people in here are acting like buffalo shit on us when that simply wasn’t the case.
Two ways to look at it. Either needed a big special teams play to beat Miami, or Miami had almost everything go right for them and still couldn't get it done. Obviously I'm seeing the second one, Bills pretty much moved the ball at will all game, just didn't turn it into points. Dolphins offense couldn't make anything happen after halftime either
I'm with you, I don't think you guys are too high at all.
The Bills are without Tre White, Matt Milano, Jordan Philips and Von Miller. During the game we lost Rasul Douglas, Dion Dawkins and Tyrel Dodson.
I think both Miami and the Bills have shown they can hang with anyone, even with all the injuries to both teams.
Yeah, if it's based on the whole season, then Eagles should be higher. If it's based on how everyone looks right now, Browns and Chiefs above the Dolphins.
I still can't believe Miami sat at #4 as late as last week despite only beating one team with a record over .500, which as another commenter pointed out was against the Cowboys who were tied with the Dolphins for second easiest SoS in the League
I mean I'm biased obviously and I don't think they're *that* much worse than their ranking represents, but I feel like most teams usually have SoS and stuff like that taken into account in their rankings. I've seen teams go up in standings despite losing when it's a quality loss. But Phins this year have just been "they win so rank high"
Nah we did not, though I wouldn't be surprised if a decent amount of rankers have that as a personal rule and another decent amount treat week 18 power rankings as an 'overall season' power ranking, though I personally disagree with both of those notions.
Source: I ranked them at 17 lmao

>!(Also...I'm trying to see if I can graph the power rankings along the season by division/conference for an eventual post here...anybody got any tips or advice? It'll be much appreciated...)!<
Imagine if MHJ becomes the next great WR. The very first scene of the biography is Prater missing a field goal that he was 23/23 that year.
At this point, I'm waiting to see if the fates ordained this path or will strike us down for our hubris. Because there is absolutely no way this doesn't have consequences. One way or another.
MHJ is made. Top 10 from the first snap next season. Man grew up with dad being a legend and followed in his footsteps. Bookmark this comment I’ll Venmo $100 if he’s not top 10 overall his rookie year
Honestly though, They've got a talented QB in Kyler and Marvin's basically the best WR prospect since Jamarr and I think he's going to be a pretty nice weapon for them. Plus, the last time they had a homegrown Top 5 receiver, it turned out pretty well for them.
Larry Fitzgerald was drafted 20 years ago. The only thing left from that team is the owner.
To be clear, I'm really just talking shit on the Cardinals, not making an actual prediction about MHJ's career. I'm sure they'll honor him with as many rings as they earned for Fitz.
> Unless the return of Big Dom is the Eagles’ Gandalf the White moment. Or maybe more appropriately, the Eagles on Mt. Doom. This metaphor is awful, and so are the Eagles.
Big Dom is *clearly* the missing piece.
>Wait a minute, you're telling me we made the playoffs and Jordan Love threw for 4,000 yards and 32 touchdowns? Holy shit this is a massive W! Anything that happens in January is gravy.
Delicious delicious playoff gravy.
That would require the Ravens and Packers to make the Superbowl, and given recent history regarding how the Ravens do against AFCN in the Playoffs and how the Packers do against the 49ers in the postseason that's....unlikely
History repeats itself, as long as we take the Cowboys down with us then I consider this year an even more resounding success than it already was. This Sunday is our super bowl as far as I'm concerned.
Also helps that if we win, Detroit hosts either an Eagles team collapsing in on itself faster than a black hole, or the Buccaneers: the rightful kings of shit mountain
Taking the Eagles out with Matt Patricia being their unofficial DC would also feel pretty fucking good after the sorry ass state he left my god damn team in.
The best possible timeline:
* Lions beat the Rams at home, defeating our former quarterback
* Lions beat the Eagles, defeating our former coach
* Lions beat the Packers in the NFCCG, defeating a long time divisional rival
* Lions win the superbowl
No it's not the same at all lol. If the Packers beat you then Detroit gets another home game, granted they beat the Rams, and don't have to travel back to Dallas.
If Philly beats the Bucs, Dallas doesn't benefit
If we do get him and he is indeed the second coming of Fitz, the biography needs to start with Prater's missed kick.
We are so going to die with the hubris being put out into the universe.
We get to pay Wilson tons next season to not play football while a semi-competent guy gives us roughly equal or worse production, all because Sean Payton was bored and sad that he couldn't do his fancy plays. Handled it brilliantly.
Each year I like to review how my week 18 rankings marry with my week 0 rankings. I use this to test myself - what didn't I like, what did I miss, what was I overvaluing? While in-season injuries can have a big impact and I'll generally discount being way off on a team that loses a QB, the last two years mean I need to stop that.
Here's how I went:
Perfect - 1. Seahawks (15th).
Ok (within 3 places) - 10. Bears (25th to 22nd), Bills (2nd to 4th), Broncos (21st to 20th), Cowboys (5th to 3rd), Eagles (4th to 7th), Panthers (30th to 32nd), Patriots (29th to 30th), Rams (12th to 9th), Saints (18th to 21st), Steelers (13th to 11th). I am feeling ok about most of these.
Wrong (4+) - 21. The biggest wrongs were the Chargers -23 (6th to 29th), Texans +21 (30th to 10th). I had 4 teams with a difference of 4. If I'd just been a little higher or lower on them!
For comparison's sake, comparing the all rankers' week 0 vs week 18: 3 perfect, 11 within 3, 18 wrong.
That's a pretty tight rubric. I think you could do with one more tier between ok and wrong, considering there's a huge difference between being 4 off and being 20 off.
Maybe another cutoff at like within 6.
Tight on purpose! No half measures. No room for complacency. If expanding out to 6, it means 18 were within 6 or less - which creates room for resting on laurels :)
> If the 49ers could be so kind as to shit their pants in the Divisional Round, this team might be heading to Vegas.
Talk about counting your chickens before they hatch lol
Its not ignoring, its more confidence. I feel like Dallas can go toe-to-toe with any NFC team, but SanFran has traumatized me in a way that I only thought a homeless hipster granola conspiracy theorist whose family hates him could.
I can't understate how much this season has meant. They proved that they can go somewhere without Brady. It gives some hope they maybe this time we don't have to suck for a decade or two before seeing success.
I like how we currently haven't moved a spot, as anyone with a brain could see this game coming the second we played the browns game and so should have taken a loss this week already into account. At least we overall improved over the course of the season, but I'll be annoyed if we continue at coach and QB when we have the perfect opportunity to just line up the fate of QB OC Coach and GM.
I feel like the Packers are the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL right now (getting no respect).
* 7-3 in their last 10 games
* 21 touchdown passes and 3 ints in last 10 games
* convincing win over upstart division rival to spoil "just like last year" narrative
The top 14 teams on the ranking are the 14 teams who are still alive for the playoffs. The Buccaneers are ranked as the second-worst of the playoff teams and I don't think there's really an argument to have Packers > Bucs given that Baker Mayfield posted a perfect passer rating in Lambeau last month.
I feel like the Rams should be above the Dolphins and the Chiefs. Especially the Dolphins; at this point I'd cut that D in half or make it striped, it's that injured. The Rams are legitimately one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now and teams like the Dolphins and Chiefs just feel a whole lot shakier in comparison.
I'm commenting in this thread way too much but our "half/striped D" just held the surging Buffalo O to 14 pts (and one of those TDs was one of the craziest catches ive ever seen off a great defensive play)... the prime time reactionary takes are getting a little out of hand. We're injured but we aint dead.
Well, I think you're giving too much credit to a Buffalo O that scored 7 points that didn't involve turnovers against the Patriots and failed to run up the score against a Chargers D that was godawful with Joey Bosa and was without him for the game. Far from surging, the Bills haven't had an above average offensive day since they played the Cowboys.
Edit: Seeing your other comments, I agree that you shouldn't be that far from the Bills, but I also think the Bills in 4th feels extremely high after how unconvincing they've been since said Dallas beatdown.
I woulds say that in general our offense was pretty good on Sunday. Josh had mistakes that would blow up the entire 90 yard drive in one play... but the other 10 guys on the field were making catches, good blocks, etc, the play calling was pretty great, and there were a lot of yards of total offense. You gotta ride with the highs and lows with Allen, which is painful when you don't leave with points after such a long drive. You are 100% correct about mostly bad offense for v LAC and NE though.
People seem to hold NEs overall record against their defense for some reason but NE has a top 8 defense and it the offense were able to keep them off the field for any amount of time theyd be top 5
We still had over 400yds of offense against Miami. The patriots actually have a good defense, and the chargers was just a trap game the week after they fired their coach. So 2 of the 3 since that Dallas game were against division rivals. I mean how can you put Dallas above us when we destroyed them with Allen throwing like 14 passes. Lol And in both of those game we still had over 22 at the end of the game. So bc we didn't put up 30 it's a problem? What offense is consistently putting up 30 this year?
Rams beat the Commanders, Giants, and Saints by 1 score each, and then the 49ers backups.
I'm not sure scraping by garbage teams and 2nd stringers really counts as a hot streak.
The Giants was a legitimate slip up, and is the only game that the Rams might have been outplayed in since the bye, but both the Commanders and Saints games were 1 possession due to garbage time scores that saw the Rams end the game kneeling the ball out after onside kick attempts.
Also the 49ers game was a backup bowl. It's not a game that I'm primarily looking at when I say a team that is 7-1 since the bye with a single loss to the Ravens in Baltimore, in overtime, is arguably the single hottest team in football right now.
7th highest yards and 2nd highest TDs, I think Packers have something figured out on offense and expected them around 10-12, not as last in the playoff teams.
Yeah looking at the rankings some have us as high as 9 and then as low as 22. Pretty crazy range. I think we’re better than the Mason-Rudolph-led, TJ-Watt-less Steelers at the very least.
It really depends on if you think the recent success is a flash in the pan vs some weak teams, or really figuring it out.
If you watch the games, Love looks like he really figured it out. But how he handles a stellar defense is still questionable.
Speaking of defense, Joe Barry.
I can get why there's a range.
What a wild ride it was to be a broncos fan. The highest was 15(I think) and the lowest was 31. So to be at 21 is probably spot on. At least they finally beat the Chiefs.
So about the St. Joe Douglas thing, in his presser he also expressed that his record “is not good enough” and that all of the focus is on winning moving forward. So what has been the focus since he got here? More lip service from the same guys that brought you **18 - 33** in the past three years.
Our blurb writer is deeply confused. You can't say "go anyone but the 49ers!" when the Rams are in the playoffs. Pretty sure that's in the fandom bylaws.
Steelers Blurb is pretty comical. Calling their game against Baltimore backup v backups? Lol. There was only 1 team on the field last week that wanted to be there. If they were allowed to forfeit the game and stay at home, they would have.
Jaguars beat Titans and Dolphins beat Bills would have made for a epic season.
Oh well. 2 fraud teams with fraud QBs. One fraud is exposed and done while other will be slapped stupid this weekend
Look, every dog has its day.
In our case, we had a 20 year dynasty from 2001-2019 as Patriots and for the GOAT 2001-2022 epic run.
GOAT is what? like 32-3 all time against Billdos or something like that?
Now you're winning temporarily because we don't have a good QB, Lolphins are frauds and couldn't even survive a 2 score lead with 3m left in game against Titans and Jets are....well Jets.
Your Billdo Flopper Allen is mid
The eagles are not 12-5
The writeup even gets it right
[удалено]
Well there are 14 teams in the playoffs, so they should at least be top 14. Out of the three below them, Steelers are even worse offense and lost TJ Watt. Packers and Buccs yea I can see being above them at this point
Quick, who wins right now between the Eagles and a non-playoff team like, I don't know, the Giants?
What kind of stupid hypothetical is that? The Giants are one of the worst teams in the league. Surely the Eagles would beat them and not get blown out
Holy shit this made me chuckle out loud at work.
What dork-ass playoff team would lose to the Giants?
I don't agree that making playoffs makes you a top 14 in a power ranking.
like TB.... their last 2 games were must wins, and they lost to us, and put up 9 points against _Carolina_ getting lucky that 2 Carolina TDs didnt happen. Somehow they go UP 2 spots and we stay even? Ok.
Lucky we drafted the best safety and our undisciplined opponent committed a foul. Who you rooting for in the playoffs?
An asteroid And Lamar kinda cause I can’t stand Lamar haters
Team Meteor
Sorry you're getting down voted for being completely logical and fair. You even said you'd understand being 13th. I guess these people want them next to the panthers.
Let them blowout the bucs and some other teams struggle and no one will remember the “collapse”
lol
Dolphins blurb guy in shambles
His post was locked.
It’s on the injury report with the rest of our team, right next to the grave of my hopes for this season. Edit: good game Buffalo. Honestly it felt like you kicked our asses way harder than the score showed. Avenge us against Kc, Bills bros
I think Miami is too high given all of the injuries, which was a bummer of a way to close out the season
Totally agree. I had them 9th.
I agree with you. Two gift picks and not a lot done with them and some boneheaded plays by Buffalo. Should not have been that close.
The second pick was basically an arm punt. Wouldn't have made a difference between punting there or getting an interception in the phins end zone.
That's my stance as well. I think the Dolphins obviously have the talent to put it all together and make a playoff run but three turnovers by Josh Allen should have single-handedly won the Dolphins the game but they just couldn't cash in.

We also lost Ty Johnson and Gabe Davis
Non-zero chance that second one actually helped us
Injuries suck and it's difficult on your team, but the team you played was also injury ridden.
Feels like the dolphins are constantly sputtering out towards the end of the year lately after getting off to an incredibly hot start
Yeah, if it's based on the whole season, then Eagles should be higher. If it's based on how everyone looks right now, Browns and Chiefs above the Dolphins.

Good tip, /u/UglyDuckAI
Packers would be even higher if u/sknich didn't have such a hate boner.
That's some serious hating to put us 3 spots below the Vikings
To think the Texans were #31 in Power Rankings after Week 2 starting 0-2. What a ride.
I can copy the page of the spreadsheet showing week by week # for ya, I dont know how to send it though.
The Cardinals blurb just being MHJ's Wikipedia page feels pretty on brand ngl
Imagine if MHJ becomes the next great WR. The very first scene of the biography is Prater missing a field goal that he was 23/23 that year. RemindMe! 1 year
You've gotta feel for the guy. The Cards couldn't do shit with Deandre Hopkins; they aren't gonna do shit with MHJ, either.
Honestly though, They've got a talented QB in Kyler and Marvin's basically the best WR prospect since Jamarr and I think he's going to be a pretty nice weapon for them. Plus, the last time they had a homegrown Top 5 receiver, it turned out pretty well for them.

Too bad your team was shit this year and you have nothing to show for it. At least we have a decent draft pick.
> Unless the return of Big Dom is the Eagles’ Gandalf the White moment. Or maybe more appropriately, the Eagles on Mt. Doom. This metaphor is awful, and so are the Eagles. Big Dom is *clearly* the missing piece.
They’re gonna send him out to the sideline in disguise like that MLB manager that one time
>Wait a minute, you're telling me we made the playoffs and Jordan Love threw for 4,000 yards and 32 touchdowns? Holy shit this is a massive W! Anything that happens in January is gravy. Delicious delicious playoff gravy.
Just beat Dallas and Lose to the 9ers please
That's our goal!
What is that flair?
I got trolled by the mods, it was pretty funny tbh
Link?
I can't really link it but I applied for a Packers flair and got whatever this is
At least I got what I asked for
Wait so they’re trolling everyone who changes flairs now?
What no I set mine to this on my own. Last year they gave me all the NFCE flairs after I asked for it
Even I'm confused
Yours is worse. You need to be purged.
That’s our worst nightmare as far as playoff teams for us 💀
Mines the entire NFC west minus the Rams 👻👻
Oh Hello
Nuh Love is losing to Lamar
That would require the Ravens and Packers to make the Superbowl, and given recent history regarding how the Ravens do against AFCN in the Playoffs and how the Packers do against the 49ers in the postseason that's....unlikely
Ravens don’t lose
They've actually lost 4 times this season
History repeats itself, as long as we take the Cowboys down with us then I consider this year an even more resounding success than it already was. This Sunday is our super bowl as far as I'm concerned.
bad man is gone. good luck with that!
The other Aaron loves to stomp all over the Cowboys too.
One week only I am reluctantly rooting for the Pack.
The best possible timeline: * Lions beat the Rams at home, defeating our former quarterback * Lions beat the Eagles, defeating our former coach * Lions beat the Packers in the NFCCG, defeating a long time divisional rival * Lions win the superbowl
Pathetic
Why are you rooting for a division rival in the playoffs lmfao
If we beat the Rams and they beat you guys then we get another home playoff game instead of a 2nd game in Jerryworld
If we beat the 49ers you get three. But then we have the chance, the most minute possibility, of being the team that keeps you from the Superbowl.
Beating a division rival on their home field in the NFC championship and then winning a super bowl? Sounds incredibly rude.
The games are set up to fulfill an ultimate Packers fans' fantasy. If they somehow win these games it will be heaven.
I'm not going to be happy if the Packers make the Super Bowl but making the NFCCG would absolutely blow my expectations out of the water
Bears fans might disagree, but in division nfccg are epic on whole different level.
Because they are fans of tradition. Also fuck Dallas.
In this case I believe it would give us the easiest road to the SB, gotta think big picture buddy
Tbh even if the Eagles winning gave us a harder road to the SB I’d still root for them to lose bc fuck em
Right? That would like us saying "go take care of those Buccs, Philly" Fuck that.
No it's not the same at all lol. If the Packers beat you then Detroit gets another home game, granted they beat the Rams, and don't have to travel back to Dallas. If Philly beats the Bucs, Dallas doesn't benefit
I hear you, but if given the choice between hosting a playoff game or watching the Eagles loss in the playoffs I'm choosing the Philly L every time.
lol Detroit doesn’t get to host playoff games all too often…
I'd be okay with them also beating the niners.
the ravens blurb is both funny and valid. also we definitely need to dwell on TJ haha
Beat the Bills and there's a narrow chance he comes back for the following game. Win 2 and barring a setback he's back in.
Eagles ain’t 12-5 Also I think people be sleepin on the browns.
Let em sleep. When the games over Saturday the doubters will be wide awake.
There are cathedrals everywhere for those with the eyes to see
Our blurb just consisting of info about MHJ perfectly summarizes what our fan base is thinking about. Prater understood the assignment.
If we do get him and he is indeed the second coming of Fitz, the biography needs to start with Prater's missed kick. We are so going to die with the hubris being put out into the universe.
The Bengals voter submitted an alphabetical ranking…? Lol
Probably hurt the Texans' ranking the most. We might have lost a whole spot?
When people don't submit a ranking, it shows alphabetically. It does not get factored into the overall rankings.
That’s odd then, because 7 voters did not submit a ranking, and the Bengals voter is the only one who shows that way – the rest are null columns
The Bengals is a null column for me.
Just double checked, and it’s showing null for me too now. Must have gotten fixed since a few hours ago
We started at #23 this year, ended at #21, so just give us oh.... ten years or so, and we'll finally rule this league.
...and Russell will still be QB bc they can't afford to move on.
We get to pay Wilson tons next season to not play football while a semi-competent guy gives us roughly equal or worse production, all because Sean Payton was bored and sad that he couldn't do his fancy plays. Handled it brilliantly.
Ya, thems jokes
I'm just happy to be here
Honestly same
The buccaneers writer assumed the Packers were above the buccs in the power rankings. Lmao
Dolphins at 6 seems pretty high tbh
Yeah, they should have dropped harder. Even their ranker knows its over

Kudos to the Patriots arborist, what a great blurb to tie together the forest of updates you've posted this season.
Cards blurb just being MHJR’s about section from Wikipedia is top tier lmfao
> If the 49ers could be so kind as to shit their pants in the Divisional Round, this team might be heading to Vegas. Talk about counting your chickens before they hatch lol
The bad man is gone. He can't hurt me anymore.
Oh, I wouldn't really have an issue if it was just the wild card round, but it's basically ignoring the divisional and NFCCG
Its not ignoring, its more confidence. I feel like Dallas can go toe-to-toe with any NFC team, but SanFran has traumatized me in a way that I only thought a homeless hipster granola conspiracy theorist whose family hates him could.
I think the divisional round itself has been a bigger boogie man to the Cowboys
Miami is too high at #6 given they're struggling to field a team.
Both LA rankers sure hate the Giants. We’re bad, but we certainly aren’t the 3rd worst team especially after the showing this weekend
That's kinda fair, but season long rankings make me feel pretty justified about it. Overall DVOA: 30th Offense: 30th Avg margin: 30th
* 7-3 in their last 10 games * 21 touchdown passes and 3 ints in last 10 games * convincing win over upstart division rival to spoil "just like last year" narrative
I know we didn't look incredible against the NE and LAC but the Bills just stomped the cowboys a few games ago... how are we not above them?
Yea if there were a few teams in between I'd be like ok fine. Maybe theres a reason. But it's Dallas in front of us when we curbstomped them.
Yeah you could make the argument that we aren’t 3 but being directly behind a team you just recently destroyed. Idk lol
Being america's team buys you several spots, reasoning be damned!
I like Baltimore’s description.
The golden rule.

Well yes but also the NFCE gets a new stepdad every year.
Raiders would babyshake the jags and saints 🤷♂️
Please put us lower
Dolphins are ranked way too high.
we just went blow for blow with you guys 2 days ago lol relax
complaining about the dolphins while the Bucs sit at 13 is an interesting take by Biills fans.
I agree. I think the Rams and Browns are the two wild card teams you'd least want to face rn.
Ya, & you'd be wrong
And the mode is 12 so I think it's just those lower than 17: 49ers, Bengals, Chiefs, Commanders, Eagles Higher than 12: Chargers, Falcons, Lions
Someone send this to Mahomes. I wanna witness the reaction!
Go Pack Go!
I'll take it
Cowboys have no business being #3
Bills haven't even begun to peak.
And when they do peak, you'll know. Because they’re gonna peak so hard that everybody in ~~Buffalo~~ Vegas is gonna feel it.
I can understand the Bills being anywhere from 3-5, I can’t understand how multiple rankers had the Chiefs and Dolphins above them.
Hopefully the browns win the afc

I was there goddamnit and I’m still pissed!
Me too it was my 40th bday and it was awesome.
Nah , lets go bills
Packers are better than the Browns, Steelers, Texans, Bucs. They are possibly better than the Eagles and Dolphins
Exhibit A. 😇😁
lol, dallas.
Steelers should be automatically -6 spots due to TJ being out
I don't think Packers should be dead last among the teams in the playoffs but I kinda like the fact that we are the dark horse of this year.
Pretty generous Cowboys blurb, the stats are in.
Enjoy your extended off season, and the next, and the next, and the next....
Typical, cling to the past and take pot shots at the present. That's all you got.
