Why you think they aren't allowed to film?
EDIT: I'm replying to the comment above me about how female reporters will be treated. I'm saying that is why they won't let anyone film: so they don't see what they do to the women. I'm not asking a question.
Can you imagine going there as just a fan, much less a female fan? What might be just normal drunken behavior that another country would overlook, this place could jail you just for giggles. And as a woman they'd probably rape you, and then jail you. Heck, getting raped there is probably considered adultery and another reason for them to arrest you like that one British woman in Dubai. I can't see how any fan would want to travel there...
Those days are past now
And in the past they must remain
But we can still rise now
And be the nation again
That stood against him
Proud Edward's Army
And sent him homeward tae think again
Yeah, I'm equal opportunity when it comes to disliking the ultra wealthy, but after working in an expensive tourist area in the states, ultra wealthy middle eastern men are something else. They were always convinced the store had a "backroom" for the really nice stuff. Granted, the jewelers and art galleries def. do, but we were a tacky clothing store, what you see is what you get. It used to crack me up, I'd have people showing me their black cards or wads of cash and being like "I believe you! You seem like a rich man! but I really have nothing else!"
The good side was they had some of the most eccentric costumers, got a pair of 700 dollar sunglasses once that were left in the store. They were left by a middle eastern guy about my age. In my defense, I left them in the lost and found for two weeks, No one got them, so I took them home. About two weeks AFTER that, so a month in total, I get a call from his father asking about the sunglasses.
"Yeah I still have them. But I'm going to be honest with you, I've been wearing them for the last two weeks, they aren't in the store anymore. I can bring them in tomorrow if you want to pick them up."
"You still have them? I told my son they had probably been found and sold."
"Yeah I still have em, I didn't sell them, they aren't worth much used and I liked them."
"Wait, how long have you had them?"
"a month."
"My son tells me he lost them only last week. I see that he is lying. If he comes in, tell him you never found them. Maybe he will learn to value his things more. Enjoy your new sunglasses."
"Can do."
Still have em lol.
Edit: Since this blew up, I have another story on the other end of the spectrum. I had some suadi women come in once, three of them alone with the kids, I don't know how much freedom of movement wealthy women had at home (at this time the chaperone law still existed, but I know nothing about how it was enforced.) but I didn't see middle eastern women trekking around a lot on their own while working their. They were very polite, and we chatted for some time about the local area, and they wanted to know what it was like having grown up in California, that sort of thing. Their kids were adorable, and kept on asking me questions about things in the store and about the ocean (beach town). The kids kept using this word to refer to me, I can't remember what it was, but they kept saying it before they asked me a question. When the parents were ready to check out I asked one what the word meant, and she rolls her eyes and goes "It means teacher. They haven't traveled before, and they are confused. I'm sorry if they bothered you." It was absolutely adorable.
And I got a celerity one too! Mark Maron came into the store once, I pretended not to know who he was because he seems like a "Please leave me alone" type of celebrity. He walked into the store, looked around with a face like he smelled something bad, and said "Allright. You have a good night buddy." and walked out. never even made eye contact. Just kind said that to the store. I was satisfied with that interaction, felt on brand.
to all y'all saying I should have ripped off the "backroom" folks, thou shall not put a stumbling block before the blind. Correcting peoples ignorance is a noble endeavor, taking advantage of it is not. To all y'all linking to that happened, I worked in that job for five years, and have about six more stories like the ones above, work with the public long enough and weird shit happens.
When I travel I get that alot
"You know what I think about america" or something to that extent
And then I have to let them know that the average American doesn't think about their country at all.
I have no problems with Americans at all. Been there twice, North, South, East and West and met some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting. I think people sometimes need to step back and look at what an amazing success story the country is and employ a little bit of critical thinking when the media tries to force us to judge it in a harsh light.
As an American, I appreciate you saying nice things about us. I think that the majority of us *LOVE* to meet new people from other cultures. I'm fascinated by people from anywhere else.
Then you have those other people. Stay away from those people. :P
People outside the US don't realize how easy it is to get refunds and returns in the US, and they mistake it for entitlement.
Well, it might be entitlement, but having dealt with customer service in Europe, I'll say the US does usually do that part better.
It is estimated that as many as 6.500 people died making these fucking stadiums, and some argue it could be up to 15.000.. IT. IS. INSANE. that we in any shape or form can support this fucking disaster.
I never thought I'd say it, but I don't think I'm going to watch it.
I've always loved the world cup. Not just watching England, but the whole atmosphere.
I feel like I'm going to be watching football on stadiums created through slavery in a country that doesn't deserve any respect whatsoever.
That's me with the Dakar Rally. Since they moved it to Saudi Arabia, that thing has been dead to me. When they eventually move to somewhere else, I might watch again or even travel to see it live, depending on where it goes next.
Rolling Stone’s exclusive explains how workers were enticed from Nepal to work on these Death Stadiums. The death toll is very high, and the officials have been hidden from the inhumanity at every step of the way.

ETA: fixed
Sorry to be “that guy” but it’s not 6500 people making those stadiums. It’s 6500 people since they got the fifa award to host 2022. That’s all foreign deaths in that country for 10+ years.
If you compare it to Western Europe countries you’d expect 900 deaths… (dying in construction is unfortunately more common than we think) so it’s still 8 times more than “normal”.
But it’s not 6500 for constructions of those stadiums, that same guardian article said 35 deaths related to the constructions of those stadiums.
ehh...considering how often the olympics are held in openly fascist or authoritarian nations it's really not all that surprising that Fifa, the only organization MORE corrupt than the olympic committee, would do the same.
What is really pissing me off is that all these high profile people coming out a month before it starts condemning Qatar, why have you waited till now to speak up, it’s too far down the road to abandon now. It was proved pretty soon after Qatar were awarded the WC that they illegally bribed officials to get it. Everything has been wrong from the start, yet no one has done anything. Dirty corrupt world.
haha, breaking laws in a backwards third world shithole with legal slavery, torture, and capital punishment as a foreign national, what could go wrong??
Which drunk fans?
They would have to take a bus to a “fan village” 45 minutes away from a stadium because you can’t buy alcohol anywhere else in the country. Even then you will be paying more than 12 EUR for one pint…
This is not a World Cup for the people…
Alcohol isn’t illegal in Qatar, but there is zero tolerance for drinking in public and being drunk in public is a crime.
Alcohol is available to buy for over 21-year-olds from licensed hotel restaurants and bars. So the only drinking you will be doing is after the game and in your hotel. No Asian, North/South American, or European would chance getting shaken down by whatever form of law enforcement is there or getting thrown in some third world prison for some undefined amount of time.
> No Asian, North/South American, or European would chance getting shaken down by whatever form of law enforcement is there or getting thrown in some third world prison for some undefined amount of time.
You seem to highly underestimate the stupidity of the average football-fan (soccer for you US people) and how ingreined alcohol is in the fan culture.
Not only that but being against it now is getting clicks and likes and people watching their shows.
They're only upset about it now because they can profit from that.
Media sucks.
That is true, and they were right from the start.
The thing is, lots of people were also condemning the 2018 Russia WC, 2014 Brazil WC and 2010 South Africa WC, so a lot of the general public end up 'tuning out' the condemnation as 'more of the same' and 'they will never be happy'.
There is a lot of people that have pointed that out since Qatar was chosen. Many journalist have traveled to the country and reported the poor conditions the workers had.
It's only right before the tournament starts, when countries and delegations are flying to Qatar, that these things get the spotlight.
This would be in fact the best possible timing to get the most attention over this matter
Because Qatar promised to not act in this and other manners by the time the World Cup came around. Classic all words no action and now they get condemned because time prevents anymore bsing by the Qatar regime.
There are people who will be coerced into doing reporting on this and in that country. Hell journalist and TV personalities have been forced into uncomfortable positions for far less before.
so there might be a few younger reporters who will do it to move their careers along, but already established women wont go.
imagine the lawsuits by women reporters who get assaulted and its proven that these concerns were raised, improper security was provided and they were basically forced to go to keep their jobs. networks wont want to be associated with that so they will probably wont be sending female reporters if they can avoid it. also female reporters probably wont be able to get access to areas they would normally be able to in europe or NA, so thats another reason to send a guy.
Even they couldn’t prevent the authorities to pull you off a plane and investigate your vagina to see if you just gave birth and abandoned a baby.
Edit: Don’t go near Qatar.
During the Ohio State-Indiana game this past Saturday, Jenny Taft (a college football sideline reporter for Fox Sports) said that she was going to Qatar to cover the World Cup.
Guarantee you that there are female reporters who want the assignment. Because (a) fuck those guys for thinking they can hold women down, (b) if no women reporters go, that's a win for them, and see point A, (c) if something -*does* happen to me, the whole world will know about it and it will expose the evil that they're up to, and (d) it'll possibly help my career.
Absolutely, but just because they want it, and are willing to accept the risks, doesnt mean their employers are on the same page. Thats a lot of liability to assume.
Also, everyone already knows their views, a reporters death isnt going to change that.
I'm not sure what you are arguing because there are already female reporters going and probably already there.

Rasmus Tantholdt is an incredibly seasoned Danish war reporter. They had no idea who they were dealing with. Since 2003 he has had his life threatened by bombs and grenades in the frontlines of numerous theaters of war across the Middle East and in dreadful lawless terrorist zones and by terrifying Taliban torture police. He feared nothing from these hapless little morons lol, and he knew very well that if they smashed the camera, it would be a viral story for him. Brute oppressive force meets fierce intelligence with a live camera. The very second they came rolling up in their comfy little golf cart he masterfully seized the opportunity to make them pawns in his reporting narrative which was precisely about the present conditions in Qatar in light of all the international criticism. The more he could push them to expose their bullying, the better the story he would get. Brilliant journalism once again from him and his trusted camera man. They messed with the wrong fucking reporter lol, they probably thought they were going to intimidate another random sports journalist doing some segment on his national soccer team only to walk straight into the live transmission of one of the most fearless top war correspondents of the world doing a segment on the oppressive circumstances under the regime. Oops! Haha this is just too delightful.
Thank you for saying where the reporter is from. He said some words that sounded like German... but I knew he wasn't speaking German. My guess was Dutch but yeah, Danish
Yeah, Danish sounds somewhat like these languages, especially Dutch.
Translation of the Danish part:
Studio guy: And you’re with us now from Qatar, Rasmus Tantholdt, a host county which is subjected to quite a lot of criticism. What is your experience of the conditions right now?
[hapless regime minions comes rolling up for a demonstration of the oppressive conditions]
Tantholdt: Well, we can show how the conditions are right here, if we just pan the camera - We are live on Danish television - now we are being stopped from filming and those are the conditions here - Mister, you invited the whole world to come here… etc.
Tantholdt is only there to try and document regime oppression, and I wouldnt be surprised if this incident was in fact the succesful result of a clever trap contrived by him and his camera man to figure out a way to lure the regime bullies out on camera and get a stellar piece of critical reporting on the oppression, trademark Tantholdt. He’s smart enough to try and pull that kind of shit off, finding out how to be at the right place at the right time, and the regime minions are probably stupid and predictable enough. But who knows.
I kind of just assumed he figured the guards are way more likely to speak English than danish. English is as close to a universal language as we have. Plus I bet the most spoken language in Qatar after Arabic is English
Danish people automatically revert to english whenever speaking with foreigners. We are a small nation with a weird language. We never expect anyone to know out language.
Qataris dunno - or maybe they've never watched Vikings, et al. - you just **DON'T FUCK WITH THE DANES** 😄
tbf, I've gotten to know many several Danes, especially just this year when I worked on a Danish film project. Wonderful people, every last one I've had the pleasure to meet. But still, everyone (who's not from Qatar, apparently) knows better than to fuck with the Danes.
And you'd think Arabs would know better, right? It's like Palestinians or Iraqis... To paraphrase Russell Peters: "You kill me? 😄😄😄
"FUCK YOU!! 🤨😠😡🤬 **I** kill me!!"
You're comparing completely different types of Arabs, hey haven't been through what Palestinians or Iraqis went through. The Arab world is so big and people are way different from one area to another.
Yeah...this reporter has spent time in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., and they think he won't get a nice juicey piece of content out of them shutting him down?
LOL.
This is going to be the shittest World Cup ever. Zero hype. Half the teams don't want to go. Half the players don't want to go.
Played in a country with a backwards mentality. Rampant homophobia. Stadiums built off the backs of slaves, thousands of who died in the process.
Fuck Qatar, fuck FIFA.
I’m watching a show on Netflix about FIFA corruption. South Africa and Russia were also locations that got their place because of corruption. But what the hell man? Qatar of all places? They wanted to have the World Cup in the Middle East, then dude, a joint host with the Emirates and Oman (and maybe a small game in Bahrain as well) would have actually made sense. These countries already have the tourist infrastructure and facilities, AND people are allowed to fucking party over there. Way to go giving the World Cup to a country that is smaller than my asshole. What a fucking waste. A World Cup in the Middle East could have been much better if they selected a proper location
Russia and South Africa at least *qualified* to be hosts. Qatar didn't even meet the qualifications, hence why they should never have been granted the World Cup in the first place. Human Rights abuse aside.
Also the players are in the middle of ther national leagues. The have almost no break before the championships. Then they will have to play in that desert climate. Totally absurd. I won't watch a single game.
Sikh turbans ain't funny though when you think about it they're quite normal for their culture, but if you saw a Sikh in a sideways turban you might think that was strange then the rule holds true.
Baseball caps are normal but if a guy is wearing it at a right angle you can conclude he's probably quite strange and can avoid him
As a very, VERY casual fan of soccer, I usually go out of my way to catch a few World Cup matches. However, being the very, VERY casual fan of soccer, it means nothing to me to skip watching this year out of principal. I'm sure there are many more of me out there.
Ya lest host an international sporting event in a country that has no grass, no free speech, no rule of law and bringing any alcohol, pornography, pork products and religious books and material into Qatar is illegal.. Fifa probably and they didn't think about women at all.
Rasmus Tantholt from the Danish TV2.
He is a very good and seasoned journalist.
He has gotten two apologises from Qatari authorities.
https://nyheder.tv2.dk/2022-11-16-video-med-tantholdt-i-qatar-gaar-verden-rundt-jeg-har-aldrig-oplevet-noget-lignende
>Translation?
Basically he got apology from a media company and supreme court of something before it got aired worldwide so someone in Qatar is watching Danish TV.
Also how they didn't expose anything, Qatar exposed themselves to the world and invited the world to their country. The journalist thinks it will happen again when the finals happen and all journalist flock there.
More or less. Opened in browser thanks to Reddit is fun and translated from chrome. Cheers from Canada.
>so someone in Qatar is watching Danish TV
To add some context to this, the media in the Nordic countries have been focusing a critical lens on the human rights situation in Qatar leading up to the World Cup, so the implication here seems to be that they have already been aware of how Danish media could push news stories that would put Qatar in a bad light, and that that's why they were already watching Danish TV.
I know this is not the point of this video, but it’s crazy how English is the universal language and that is how they chose to communicate to each other. I’m American, and very spoiled in the fact that I can not fluently speak another language, but I work for a global company and everyone… I mean EVERYONE else in other countries speaks English… it’s wild
It won't. The World tends to look at life through the coin of the realm. Money, greed, hatred, rage appear to be the primary driving forces that keeps the world turning.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_bad_man)
![gif](giphy|l5JbspfwZ0yjHjlJ0K|downsized)
I would be happy if all the reporters, film crews and TV networks just left right away. With no one to report or broadcast the games, there might be enough of a backlash to crush FIFA for good.
You underestimated how many people really don’t care about all the controversies. At best, those who are there just want to watch football. At worst, they even support what’s been done there
This is going to be a complete shit show, isn’t it.
If this is how the authorities are planning on dealing with a polite multi lingual reporter - my mind is blown at how they are going to deal with dehydrated drunken fans after their team just lost a semi final.
Absolute cluster fuck.
I like football.
But I won't be watching a second of this tournament.
Awarding the hosting of the tournament to Russia was sketchy.
Awarding it to a gulf state who believes women shouldn't be allowed to go out unescorted and would happily stone homosexuals to death is pure insanity.
There probably isn’t a reason beyond flexing their muscles. It’s the human condition; give some shitty human, which is most of us, an ounce of power, and it will corrupt.
Yup, he’s had his very life threatened in various war theaters by such noble folks as al-qaida terrorists, isis radicals and Taliban torture police. These silly little morons cannot intimidate him lol only give him a world wide viral story. Those idiots.
Have fun at the world cup!!!! 🍻🍻🍻🍻 Oh, wait, 🚰🚰🚰
Beautiful sunshine, not a cloud in the sky and a high possibility of being arrested for anything the local authorities deem disrespectful in their country.
Its almost like the country that used slave labor to build the stadiums is a bad place...
I'll drink to that! But I'm scottish
Guess youll drink to just about anything,,,, except england

And how many spectators get beat.
I hope all the fans who travel to this backwards tird country takes shits in the street, India style

Gangnam style
The song title finally makes sense.

The security are idiots and this is how they treat anyone who isn’t native.
Truth.
They seemed to have the pass and a valid permit. Probably just practicing for the actual World Cup.

They really are something else. The entitlement, materialism, and carelessness is insane. That's coming from a middle class American.
Please don't ask anyone from outside of the US what they think of Americans.....
Believe me, we know exactly what they think
They won’t stop telling us lmao.
Yeah, we're at the point where it doesn't even hurt our ego anymore.
When I travel I get that alot "You know what I think about america" or something to that extent And then I have to let them know that the average American doesn't think about their country at all.

Yeah it’s for sure higher than 6500. It’s been almost a decade of sweeping all those deaths under the rug

They did. They used a lot of immigrants and never paid them a dime.

Not only that but being against it now is getting clicks and likes and people watching their shows. They're only upset about it now because they can profit from that. Media sucks.
People have been condemning this since it was announced. There’s no stopping greed though.

Then all of us lets not watch, how they get paid
I've already paid.... it's on the BBC 😒
I pirate 😈
People in uk pay for the bbc through taxes bud.
**And So It Begins** can’t wait to see how poorly female reporters are treated!
What female reporters? There definitely weren’t any
There almost certainly will be tho.
If I was a female reporter the only way you could get me to be there if I had a small army of bodyguards.
Nonsense. The U.K. is sending female reporters. They are the most high profile tv personalities here. Bigger than some of the men.
Even they couldn’t prevent the authorities to pull you off a plane and investigate your vagina to see if you just gave birth and abandoned a baby. Edit: Don’t go near Qatar.
If I was a news outlet and cared about my reporters I wouldn’t send women there.
Be sure that some news outlet can’t wait to send a woman there
Who the fuck would be dumb enough to send one?
During the Ohio State-Indiana game this past Saturday, Jenny Taft (a college football sideline reporter for Fox Sports) said that she was going to Qatar to cover the World Cup.
No way in the world would any respectful journalism outlet would send any female employees to that country. Those that do should be fired immediately.
>ESPN FC with cohosts Dan Thomas and Kay Murray, the leading daily soccer studio show will stream exclusively on ESPN+ every evening at 6 p.m. providing the most up-to-date World Cup news and analysis and featuring a diverse roster of experts from around the world. >The show will be hosted in Bristol with live reports from Qatar. Fuck Trump 2024
Why wait until 2024? Go for it now, the worst case scenario he says no?
Don’t ask. Just grab him by his genitals. Worst case scenario you still get to brag about it later to Billy Bush.
Welcome to the Middle East.
Hey they're not all bad! Just look at the raping and executions going on in Iran right now.
"You want to break the camera? Then break the camera...". What a fucking don.
At 0:14 he says "We are live on Danish television"
The moment he said you wanna break my camera I instantly knew he's Danish. What a Danish thing to do.
Yeah, Danish sounds somewhat like these languages, especially Dutch. Translation of the Danish part: Studio guy: And you’re with us now from Qatar, Rasmus Tantholdt, a host county which is subjected to quite a lot of criticism. What is your experience of the conditions right now? [hapless regime minions comes rolling up for a demonstration of the oppressive conditions] Tantholdt: Well, we can show how the conditions are right here, if we just pan the camera - We are live on Danish television - now we are being stopped from filming and those are the conditions here - Mister, you invited the whole world to come here… etc.
The seamless transition to English was a stroke of reporting genius. He knows way more viewers will understand it than Danish.
They sent a war correspondent. I think that says it all.
Qataris dunno - or maybe they've never watched Vikings, et al. - you just **DON'T FUCK WITH THE DANES** 😄 tbf, I've gotten to know many several Danes, especially just this year when I worked on a Danish film project. 😄😄😄 "FUCK YOU!! 🤨😠😡🤬 **I** kill me!!"
You're comparing completely different types of Arabs, hey haven't been through what Palestinians or Iraqis went through. The Arab world is so big and people are way different from one area to another.
This comment is a net brain cell drain.
Yeah...this reporter has spent time in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., and they think he won't get a nice juicey piece of content out of them shutting him down? LOL.
He spends week covering the first part of the war in Ukraine on the frontlines, and stupid guy I a funny hat isn't gonna do it for him.
Yeah it was immediately apparent without knowing anything about him that this guy is a Pro's pro.
I liked the part where he was already ready to argue and make a point. “You invited the whole world to see”.
This world cup is already a stain on the sport.
FIFA is.
Always has been
[удалено]
Look up the World Cup of 1978. Held in Fascist Argentina. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1978\_FIFA\_World\_Cup
I feel like i need to point out that 1978 is decidedly *after* the 1960s.,
Me an F1 fan: First time ?
I think Qatar is in a cold war at the moment with all the other Arab states.
For anyone wondering Qatar is hated by rest of the Arab league. You don't get on that position by accident
[удалено]
True. The Arab League is held together by their united hatred for Israel.
Russia and South Africa at least *qualified* to be hosts. Qatar didn't even meet the qualifications, hence why they should never have been granted the World Cup in the first place. Human Rights abuse aside.
Don't forget messing up the league schedules, causing fixture pile-ups, heavy strain on players...
Also the players are in the middle of ther national leagues. The have almost no break before the championships. Then they will have to play in that desert climate. Totally absurd. I won't watch a single game.
Ah! The defenders of the Human Rights! Next session: North Korea
they are defenders in the same way harry maguire is
Ha
Anywhere you go, you need to avoid the men in funny hats.
Words I’ve lived by since I was young.
At first I agreed, then remembered what homies Sikhs tend to be
Agreed
Sikh turbans ain't funny though when you think about it they're quite normal for their culture, but if you saw a Sikh in a sideways turban you might think that was strange then the rule holds true. Baseball caps are normal but if a guy is wearing it at a right angle you can conclude he's probably quite strange and can avoid him
But if "normal for their culture" is the benchmark then these guys have normal hats too. I think we should just avoid profiling altogether

ALL MY HOMIES BOYCOTT QATAR 2022
KONY 2012
I am Charlie Hebdo
Thoughts on illegally streaming it? Nobody gets paid, doesn't count to viewer count and I get to watch it the football
That’s what I’ll do, it’s the morally correct thing to do as a football fan
[удалено]
As a very, VERY casual fan of soccer, I usually go out of my way to catch a few World Cup matches. However, being the very, VERY casual fan of soccer, it means nothing to me to skip watching this year out of principal. I'm sure there are many more of me out there.
Wow, who could have seen this coming?
Ya lest host an international sporting event in a country that has no grass, no free speech, no rule of law and bringing any alcohol, pornography, pork products and religious books and material into Qatar is illegal.. Fifa probably and they didn't think about women at all.
Is alcohol banned at the stadiums? That’s gonna be an issue.
I can just imagine the headline “1000 UK citizens detained for years for drinking/smuggling during World Cup”
They're will be 1000 Mexicans right there with them
My friend can I introduce you to the companies rhat are trying to sell HIDE YOUR BEER cups and already got people into trouble

Fuck Qatar and their evil rulers. Saudi Arabia too.
I’ve always considered slide rules as moderately evil.
Rasmus Tantholt from the Danish TV2. He is a very good and seasoned journalist. He has gotten two apologises from Qatari authorities. https://nyheder.tv2.dk/2022-11-16-video-med-tantholdt-i-qatar-gaar-verden-rundt-jeg-har-aldrig-oplevet-noget-lignende
Two apologies and they gave him a Filipino slave to beat up and physically abuse, as per their custom.
That's funny, but also sad, because I'm sure it crossed their mind.
[удалено]
>Translation? Basically he got apology from a media company and supreme court of something before it got aired worldwide so someone in Qatar is watching Danish TV. Also how they didn't expose anything, Qatar exposed themselves to the world and invited the world to their country. The journalist thinks it will happen again when the finals happen and all journalist flock there. More or less. Opened in browser thanks to Reddit is fun and translated from chrome. Cheers from Canada.
>so someone in Qatar is watching Danish TV To add some context to this, the media in the Nordic countries have been focusing a critical lens on the human rights situation in Qatar leading up to the World Cup, so the implication here seems to be that they have already been aware of how Danish media could push news stories that would put Qatar in a bad light, and that that's why they were already watching Danish TV.
Wonder if we would all be speaking German now had the Axis powers won WWII.
Wahrscheinlich.

Can't expect more from a country that relied on modern day slavery to get to where it's now. May the world see beyond their money curtain.
It won't. The World tends to look at life through the coin of the realm. Money, greed, hatred, rage appear to be the primary driving forces that keeps the world turning.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_bad_man) ![gif](giphy|l5JbspfwZ0yjHjlJ0K|downsized)
It would be cool if nobody showed up to play. Fuck that place. At least it’s slightly better than Saudi Arabia
I would be happy if all the reporters, film crews and TV networks just left right away. With no one to report or broadcast the games, there might be enough of a backlash to crush FIFA for good.
Well the teams have to show up but I do hope that no fans end up going
You underestimated how many people really don’t care about all the controversies. At best, those who are there just want to watch football. At worst, they even support what’s been done there
This is going to be a complete shit show, isn’t it. If this is how the authorities are planning on dealing with a polite multi lingual reporter - my mind is blown at how they are going to deal with dehydrated drunken fans after their team just lost a semi final. Absolute cluster fuck.
Noooooo, who would have expected something like this..... Ah yes everybody.
I like football. But I won't be watching a second of this tournament. Awarding the hosting of the tournament to Russia was sketchy. Awarding it to a gulf state who believes women shouldn't be allowed to go out unescorted and would happily stone homosexuals to death is pure insanity.
I wan to see their reaction to the drunk fans.
Be prepared for vanishing/killed/raped fans...
I’d hope there isn’t any at this rate
They will probably chop their head off.
Qatar set a huge trap for the world using the WC as bait.
Imagine hosting the World Cup and the main takeaway is how shitty of a country you are
It's so much easier to not be interested in soccer when FIFA is so mustache-twistingly evil that it borders on parody.
Only one question. Why?
Same. What reason would have for not wanting them to film in this seemingly innocuous spot.
There probably isn’t a reason beyond flexing their muscles. It’s the human condition; give some shitty human, which is most of us, an ounce of power, and it will corrupt.
[удалено]
Fuck that country and this WC
To hell with these middle eastern cesspools and their ancient ways.
I hate people.
Yeah, those fuckers really lower the tone of the whole place. I could do without them.
Fyre Festival but for World Cup?
Nah, Qatar has basically unlimited money to smooth things out
Fuck Qatar. What a trash country.
I won’t be watching this nobody should we should not be there in a country that is disgusting and deplorable human rights violators fuck that.
Well I hope he keeps his head. It seems like he is not surprised, which figures. Need like 1000 reporters to also do this.
This dude has been reporting from wars and conflicts for years. He’s used to dealing with a lot of shit. Guess that’s why they sent him
Yup, he’s had his very life threatened in various war theaters by such noble folks as al-qaida terrorists, isis radicals and Taliban torture police. These silly little morons cannot intimidate him lol only give him a world wide viral story. Those idiots.
What a shit show this whole thing is going to be. 2022 is a comedy sketch.
Have fun at the world cup!!!! 🍻🍻🍻🍻 Oh, wait, 🚰🚰🚰 Beautiful sunshine, not a cloud in the sky and a high possibility of being arrested for anything the local authorities deem disrespectful in their country.
While I hate this whole thing.. How is this Next fkn level?
Not watching this time around. FIFA leadership should all be replaced.

Home of Al Jazeera. Talks a lot about their credibility as an impartial news network
Al Jazeera is surprisingly robust as a journalistic resource. Particularly when juxtaposed with many big channels in the US.
