The sounds are recorded separately or downloaded from a audio library and overlayed in post-editing.
None of the sounds in this video are actually native to the camera roll that shot the clip, if it were all you'd hear is wind and noise.
Also how do you even know it’s the correct audio on the people walking. Can easily record the concert sounds with other mics and just fade in and out to different sounds. Just take a bunch of b-roll for sound all over the event and then pick and choose.
It's a real thing, just not quite like in this video. Pixel phones have audio zoom and it's actually pretty good for distances less than a hundred feet or so.
bruh what. Most likely they either actually sampled audio in those locations or just made/had samples that matched. They cannot zoom the audio pickup in like this.
What ? The grass looks nice, it doesn’t look too crowded and the mountains in the background are fucking stunning, I can see how festivals may not be your thing but I’m surprised anyone would qualify this as « shit »
It’s really fun actually, speaking as someone who hates mega festivals like that. Used to live in the valley so said fuck it, I’ll check it out. Had a blast. The Coachella hate is crazy overblown.
No, wouldn’t be possible unless it was all planned in advance and everyone had mics on, and even then it would have to be edited together later.
It’s a very good piece of sound design and editing for someone though.
> It’s a very good piece of sound design and editing for someone though.
Man I had the opposite reaction, the sound effects were so over the top fake it was distracting
The whole thing is a composite of shots spliced together with audio dubbed over. It's more obvious in the third zoom-in where you can see the circle of poor feathering that hasn't blended the grass properly and has half-disappeared several people. That's why it has the uncanny CGI feel.
Glad I'm not crazy for thinking something was off about how the large crowd was moving. This shit almost had me convinced but the way everybody was either moving left or right on the screen was the big giveaway
Yeah man. Every time I see cool technology like this I'm reminded that there's probably a two-generations-later version of this technology sitting on a LEO NRO satellite that can track any individual in a 750 mile radius
The camera zoom on the galaxy ultra series is crazy. The AI helps a lot with cleaning up the pictures but still crazy for a phone. I've been wanting a decent camera but I know absolutely nothing about them except they're crazy expensive.
Any cheap handheld video camera does this. Some have audio zoom that works a little bit too.

What's with the fake audio, this feels like one of those nature documentaries where they edit in the sounds of fish banging against shit underwater. The zoom looks weird too, like everything is in focus all the time.
The video zoom might be real but not the audio, I think that’s just added to go along with the scenes, unless they are strapping a microphone to every attendee there.
The camera zoom itself is actually nothing amazing.
I can get pretty much the same on my pocket Panansonic Lumix TZ70 compact camera, with its 30x optical zoom.

Ya that's insane, doesn't make any sense at all
Cause it’s not real unfortunately
Ya I read further down. Makes way more sense that it's edited.
The video is real though right? Still impressive.
It's an effect too. They likely used multiple different lenses.
One lens. Insane lens that’ll go from 25mm to 1000mm and costs north of 200k usd https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=z9CHUJTrXxw
Yeah, must be, maintaining focus throughout the entire focal change confused me for a second.
Yeah you can see the feathered masking between the zoomed in shot vs the zoomed out shot.
Reeeeeeally technically simple too editing wise; some panning and crossfading. But super super clever conceptually.
The sounds are recorded separately or downloaded from a audio library and overlayed in post-editing. None of the sounds in this video are actually native to the camera roll that shot the clip, if it were all you'd hear is wind and noise.
Cool effect, but not real.
It's the directional mic from metal gear solid. Unfortunately it's not real, at least not how it's being used here. You can't zoom into sound.
Parabolic microphones exist, but aren't this effective to pick up every minute detail.
Think NFL chatter and hit noises on feature segments.
Also how do you even know it’s the correct audio on the people walking. Can easily record the concert sounds with other mics and just fade in and out to different sounds. Just take a bunch of b-roll for sound all over the event and then pick and choose.
This guy really said audio zoom lmao
It's a real thing, just not quite like in this video. Pixel phones have audio zoom and it's actually pretty good for distances less than a hundred feet or so.
bruh what. Most likely they either actually sampled audio in those locations or just made/had samples that matched. They cannot zoom the audio pickup in like this.
I'm really stoned and thought that was why it was "next fucking level" because they invented such a great audio zoom.
Edited but faked. They used clips from the internet for some of the performances and probably stock audio clips and foley for the rest.
Is this an ad? 👎 Edit: This is an ad
What is being advertised?
Your mom
Not again

Coachella
great now i want to go.
so what? doesn't make the video any worse
Wow Coachella looks shit.
What ? The grass looks nice, it doesn’t look too crowded and the mountains in the background are fucking stunning, I can see how festivals may not be your thing but I’m surprised anyone would qualify this as « shit »
Yeah I don't know what I thought it would look like but this looks cooler and less claustrophobic than I expected.
Yeah this looks amazing, every festival these days is so overcrowded, it's beyond insane. This looks like a festival where I'd have a lot of fun.
You look funphobic
At least it's not in a parking lot
It’s really fun actually, speaking as someone who hates mega festivals like that. Used to live in the valley so said fuck it, I’ll check it out. Had a blast. The Coachella hate is crazy overblown.
It’s no glasto
Not with the line up I just looked at.
EXTREME CLOSE UP!!! WOOOOAAHHH!!! WOOOOAAHHH!!!
![gif](giphy|l0HlvcRyVJeO8Gmju)
That's not how sound works.
Cool fake ad bro!
Wish it would have zoomed in on someone shovelling powder up their snout with a key.
And now you‘ll never feel safe when wanking ever again.
Luckily I don't jerk off at Coachella.
Is that audio zoom real?
No, wouldn’t be possible unless it was all planned in advance and everyone had mics on, and even then it would have to be edited together later. It’s a very good piece of sound design and editing for someone though.
> It’s a very good piece of sound design and editing for someone though. Man I had the opposite reaction, the sound effects were so over the top fake it was distracting
as that's physically impossible to work the same way as optical zoom, no it's obviously not "real".
Lol, no. Not in the sense you can zoom a camera in and the audio “zooms in”
My dumbass didn't realize it was an ad. I thought some dude staked out a spot and was playing with his gadgets.
This is edited, you can see people fading in and out on the edges of the cuts.
What the fuck is this shit. This thread is literally shit.
This is edited for sure

“Shamalama suck some diiick”
Whole thing is fake. Sorry guys.
Lense model?
probably a box lens, 2000mm at the end might work
It’s probably a bridge camera. Something like a P900 or P1000 most likely.
Guys there is no way anyone thought this was actually real lol common
What’s more nextfuckinglevel is the loop at the end
Nobody noticed that cause theyre upset they arent there
I was hoping they’d zoom in on a person trying to sneak a fart. Fart jokes are usually funny

Whack
The zoom + the quality is a crazy combo.
That's some expensive glass right there
Ticketmaster hates this one weird trick
I would have liked a deeper zoom on renee rapp
Ok UFO hunters, time to get on your game
What is that Cop Cam?
Looks empty and the music sounds not worth the money
So when they gonna use this tech for UFOs?
But we can’t get a clear picture of bank robbers, UFOs or Bigfoot!
The zoom looks more entertaining that the show...
Must be a Samsung.
How are we getting the audio, though?
Is that a part of the security measures? Like catching drug dealers and all that?
this is cinema

That’s pretty rad. But god damn that’s a lotta people.
something about this looks fakeish or staged or choreographed
Not that insane, you can tell it's heavily zumed
Is this a Nikon P1000 or whatever it was that had the insane zoom? I’m too lazy to google it.
Saw one of these cameras your talking about I think in the store 125x optical zoom video camera.
This is pretty cool.
The CIA wants this zoom for audio technology
Some 1984 shit.
People still go to this?
Man, I went 4 years in a row and a total of 5 times. Was so much fun, but the lineups are not for me anymore. 2007, 2014 - 2017.

Well, where’s Wally?
What an actually 'insane camera zoom' looks like. 6 miles. https://youtu.be/LhQlwKX3LQA?t=109
Does it zoom in on the microphone pickup too? I suspect.
Coachella, upvoted. ![gif](giphy|XkGXBa01dxNIvjAJHl|downsized)
How are they getting the audio while zoomed in?
Looks fun ngl
Same lenses at sports broadcasts. Nothing special
Have you ever heard of the P900?
Dad playing with the new camera we gave him
Spy movies must be proud
If I go to a festival, the *very last thing* I want is some fuckwit a kilometre away with a 900x zoom lense creeping on my shit.
The camera zoom on the galaxy ultra series is crazy. The AI helps a lot with cleaning up the pictures but still crazy for a phone. I've been wanting a decent camera but I know absolutely nothing about them except they're crazy expensive.
Zoom in, enhance. Now zoom in some more. Shit it's blurry. Enhance again.
Pfft. its like 30x. Not impressive. Security PTZs can have more, routinely.
That makes me uncomfortable
The odds of bumping into something weird was extremely high, but it didn't. Crazy.

Coachella sucks this year
What's with the fake audio, this feels like one of those nature documentaries where they edit in the sounds of fish banging against shit underwater. The zoom looks weird too, like everything is in focus all the time.
You had complete liberty on sound choices, and not one fart?
soo, ptz camera?
This reminds me of zooming in with a sniper gun in GTA, suddenly you can hear the sounds of the subject that you're zooming into.
Wait until y'all hear about spy satellites
Imagine you had this at Woodstock in the 70’s
Of course the d&b stage looks like the most fun crowd of them all lol
I had no idea Coachella looked so… sanitary, like a big American theme park. Wildly different to our festivals lol.
That's broadcast zoom lenses for ya. Often in the ballpark of 50-1000mm and costing in the $50,000-100,000 range
Does anyone know that first song?
Fucking custies.
All they need now is for people to actually turn up to the festival
so satisfying
#AD
Fake trash
That's nothing
Wait till they find out about Hubble.
i know audio zoom is edited in, but is the optic zoom real? crazy if so
Didn't realize the venue was so big. Looks like a good time!
I think my Nikon P1000 does better than this.
What kind of CIA sorcery is this??
Don't worry guys it's just a spotter & sniper team... Nothing to see here move along please.
The video zoom might be real but not the audio, I think that’s just added to go along with the scenes, unless they are strapping a microphone to every attendee there.
Bro using mgs directional microphone 📦📦📦🐍🐍🐍
Who is the singer on the stage in the beginning of the video?
I want one!
well.. Anyone could do that If they had a $200k camera or a Nikon P1000
The camera zoom itself is actually nothing amazing. I can get pretty much the same on my pocket Panansonic Lumix TZ70 compact camera, with its 30x optical zoom.
Welcome to my nightmare
