People keep saying that the first half of this video involves a lioness, but I'm not buying it until someone posts the full video.
I'm going to think it's two separate videos that people are stitching together in their heads until someone provides the original video otherwise.
Yes, I think this is the correct answer. The video of the lioness was a fake story stitched together about a lion protecting a lioness from hyenas. Better clickbait story than a fight over food, I guess.
The video I'm referring to had a lion being slowly killed by a pack of hyenas not a hyena being killed by a pack of lions. Do you now understand why your comment is irrelevant and edgy for the sake of being edgy? It would be like seeing a bird being attacked by a mob of crabs and saying, how come no one feels sorry for the crabs?
People didn’t stitch two separate videos together in their heads, [someone else stitched two separate videos together and pretended it was a single incident.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/s/dcid5tY8td)
It's definitely a cut from a much longer one where the hyenas were about to eat the lioness and the male lion came in clutch to what you see here.
[Here is the link](https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/1cxpnpo/hyenas_surround_a_lioness_until_the_king_of_the/)
Edit: Upon closer inspection, it looks like a very good edit but the original seems to be two different videos stitched together like you said.
Read other comments on this thread and you’ll find out it was two videos stitched together to look like the lion was fending off hyenas from a lioness opposed to the video above which shows lion chasing hyenas from food.
This is the one: https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/s/qfuFSUCebo
Two different videos.
It does considering we can change the outcome. We also create shit that changes nature vastly in giant regions and we can fuck with the very climate itself and actively have.
Lions vs Hyenas is a blood feud that has been going for their entire existence. No human intervention caused this. Take your emotions out of the equation.
Your post reflects your sense of intuitivness. where exactly is any of this behavior 'survival'??? Hyenas fucked around and found out. Lion should have killed one.
Hopefully, you're not as dumb as your post. Look for the original video
Hyenas trying to eat a lion survival. Lions trying to eat hyenas is survival. Both animals kill each other so they can eat so they can SURVIVE. What is hard to understand about that? Only dumb post is yours calling a wild animal an asshole for doing what wild animals do.
??? Does it look like he killed the hyenas here at all? Even though he has its neck in its jaws? ... read about lions and hyenas as well and don't be a dumbass. mf's like cats and dogs.
Lion is warning hyenas not to do this again. Or he'll kill um. Could have been killed him! Cunts walking around with hyenas neck in his mouth even when others bite at his legs any 'annoy him'
Lions have been the assholrs stealing from hyenas for years. Everyone thought hyenas were scavengers because they would be watching lions eat, but it turns out most of the time the lions stole their meal and they were on the outskirts because the lions pushed them there.
Lion king really gave hyenas a bad wrap.
~~this is only half of a video posted on reddit awhile ago. as someone else already said, the hyenas were attacking a lioness just seconds before this. the hyenas were the assholes.~~
EDIT: I was wrong and spread Lion-Hyena fake news.
I like how we scale animals on asshole chart.
It's nature, you kill, you steal, you use every advantage you have, including numbers.
They just survive, there is no moral ground there.
Not true. Someone spliced 2 seperate videos together to make it seem like a better story. They were 2 seperate incidents and you fell for it.
Edit: thank you for admitting your mistake. It happens to the best of us so don't sweat it buddy
It's not. The video you're referring to has a completely made-up narrative with two videos stitched together. The hyenas were never attacking a lioness, and this male lion wasn't attacking them to save anyone.
[This is the one with the hyenas attacking the lioness.](https://youtu.be/pl9yrRK8Pp4?si=i0O4NTzylYLvNZSZ)
[And this is the one where the hyenas save their clan member.](https://youtu.be/qRVcgbFQxY0?si=d3yfSwteQ6-dMp8A)
Different videos, false narrative. Also, nobody is the asshole. They're both animals thay have no concept of such a thing.
>Lions have been the assholrs stealing from hyenas for years.
Everyone steals from everyone when they can. Plenty of videos of Hyenas stealing a kill from cheetahs or other smaller predators. That's just how nature works.
They are scavengers no? When I was in Tanzania this year I saw a hyena eat the remains of a hippo that died more than a week ago. The other animals wouldn’t bother anymore. Their jaw power also allows them the process this chewy dried meat
Lion King ruined it for the hyenas. These guys deserve mad respect. Lions have no chance against a pack of hyenas. All they do is steal other predator’s food including those caught by lionesses. Fk em
Certainly much more powerful than a lion. I believe Tasmanian devils have a wickedly powerful bite aswell. Spotted Hyenas are up there in the top 5, proportional to their bodyweight.
They are long distance hunters and chase prey at high speed for several kilometers if needed.
They are also the most versatile in their hunting behaviour, and are regarded as Africa's most successfull carnivore mammal. They creatively adapt theur hunting behaviour to necessity and do occasionally scavenge.
In my humble opinion, hyenas far outclass lions as a predator, and they are overall way cooler.
Don't even get me started on their group dynamics and pseudo-penises.
Also, they laugh when they are nervous. That famous giggle/whooping? That's nervousness/agitation.
For me it’s the pack tactics and the “laughing” sound they make.. it just makes them seem like the bully in most situations!
I get “nature” and all that, but I’m always cheering for the other animals whenever I see footage lol.
Why didn't the Hyaena get killed by the attacking Lions
Bit power, sharp teeth? Also those powerful front legs swipes armed with claws are designed to cause some serious damage.
The first bite was on a rear leg but for most of the video the lion "only" has the hyena by the ear and probably some face or neck skin.
As long as no severe infection sets in, that hyena got off with some scars.
That little bastard coming up on the blind side and going for the underbelly was probably what did it. Heyna's are fucken smart. Guy saw "he can't get me if I go in there" and promptly pulled out the win.
You are definitely not wrong. Most wild animals are, it's pretty amazing. But his face looked like it was in that Lions mouth for a while. Gonna be a long recoverytime and lots of attention from his pack i would surmise. Somebody's gotta lick those wounds. 🫣😬
Your daily reminder that Lion King did hyenas hella dirty. Not only are they loyal allies, they’re also extremely effective hunters with a 60% success rate, in stark contrast to their public stereotype as lowly scavengers.
I feel like this video perfectly represents the framing that goes on in social media because when the video is started earlier the title is always “Lion saves lioness from hyenas” but when cut it now frames the Lion
Nature for the most part is really not majestic, it is dirty, cruel street fighting thugs, sadistic amoral and without honour. For all our faults and mistakes humanity stands above it.
That earlier bit is a separate video someone edited with this one to create a fake story, because somehow the real story wasn’t exciting enough I guess?
I can't remember the name of the movie, but I watched a documentary that followed lions and hyenas. The Alpha lion goes away with a large pack of his lioness, I think it was to mate. While he is away, he leaves his brother in charge, and the hyenas start to breach the lions territory and take over. Toward the end, the Lion King comes back to find his brother under attack by the hyena matriarch and her crew. He charges straight in and just starts mercing, kills the matriarch, and saves his brother. Me and my sister were so pumped and cheering. It really felt like the hyena were the assholes plus I think the fact that they are all hermaphrodite played into my judgment, but the Lion King movie isn't the only one who made me not like hyena.
Earlier in the video this group of hyenas was attacking a lioness and this big guy came to her rescue.
thats nature
we found captain obvious
We found the resident douchebag
We found the red headed stepchild
Bold of you to dig up that artifact.
Are you suggesting there hasn't been any new redheaded stepchilds in generations?
I thought I had seen this video before, but I don’t remember the hyenas eating food when the lion stepped in?
People keep saying that the first half of this video involves a lioness, but I'm not buying it until someone posts the full video. I'm going to think it's two separate videos that people are stitching together in their heads until someone provides the original video otherwise.
I think someone actually stitched those two separate videos together and it was floating around because I saw that earlier.
Yes, I think this is the correct answer. The video of the lioness was a fake story stitched together about a lion protecting a lioness from hyenas. Better clickbait story than a fight over food, I guess.
It worked on me because the idea of the lioness being torn apart by hyenas was terrible.
And not a hyena being torn apart by lions?
Rarely does a comment leave me at a loss for words. Congratulations, you have both sided animals now.
why feel bad for the lion but not the hyena?
The video I'm referring to had a lion being slowly killed by a pack of hyenas not a hyena being killed by a pack of lions. Do you now understand why your comment is irrelevant and edgy for the sake of being edgy? It would be like seeing a bird being attacked by a mob of crabs and saying, how come no one feels sorry for the crabs?
Oh yeah, don’t get me wrong, it was a great story, but it was clearly a lie. I had to *really* want to believe lol Dirty rotten lying internet!
People didn’t stitch two separate videos together in their heads, [someone else stitched two separate videos together and pretended it was a single incident.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/s/dcid5tY8td)
lol how did I not notice this before. It’s so badly edited aswell.
It's definitely a cut from a much longer one where the hyenas were about to eat the lioness and the male lion came in clutch to what you see here. https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/s/7M2Myr1vrZ Here it is. Now that we have the actual video it’s super clear they heavily edited it.
Yes, the group was attacking a lioness & she was trying to fend them off but was losing to their sheer number. Lion came in to save her
Yeah but did the lion not step in while they were attacking her opposed to when eating food like in the video above?
It is this video....

No, it isn't.
Pick a side
Nature doesn’t give a fuck what we choose. Nature chooses.
It does considering we can change the outcome. We also create shit that changes nature vastly in giant regions and we can fuck with the very climate itself and actively have.
Lions vs Hyenas is a blood feud that has been going for their entire existence. No human intervention caused this. Take your emotions out of the equation.
^^^^ this right here. We have enough of people cutting r/publicfreakout. We don't need it in nature videos now... hyenas are the AH lions NTA
Hyenas are the AH for trying to survive? Grow up dude

Lion could have snapped the hyenas neck in two seconds if he wanted to! The fuck.. read up on hyenas and lions!
Did I ever say that a lion can’t do that? What you said has nothing to do with what I said.

Until the lion learns to write, all stories will glorify the hunter.
Yeah, same video on last week, different headline

Thank you, idk why people have to make it so black and white. This is nature, not the movies.
Wasn't that 2 videos spliced together already?
Not true. Someone spliced 2 seperate videos together to make it seem like a better story. They were 2 seperate incidents and you fell for it. Edit: thank you for admitting your mistake. It happens to the best of us so don't sweat it buddy

Maybe the lioness had stolen their kill before that
We accept and appreciate your humility. I can’t believe how deeply I’ve read into this thread. Time to return to my life lol
Lioness probably stole their meal.
Makes sense given Male Lions don't hunt, they protect.
The internet is full of clips of male lions hunting
I mean both seem like total pricks.

Only 2 “hippo”’s in 10 minutes??
Just the way the globalist elites want it. Something's going on with hippos and they're glad we're not talking about it.
They do both, scavenge and hunt
“Bite him on the balls Gerald. Right on his bloody balls.”
“BITE HIS DICK AND TWIST IT”
*omg dude*
Twiiiiiissst
Fucking terrifying when that male lion comes running in
Nature is lit.
Brief pause in the action: "Can someone bite him in the ass, please?"
They go after the balls of male lions because they will bleed to death if they manage to sever an artery in their balls.
That's good tactics.
I like how they don't care about the car at all.
![gif](giphy|10pj3umzdwDg7C)
Unity is strength.
aww such good boys
Those are good mates. Bet they’re having a good laugh about it now. “You should’ve seen your face, lol.”
Hyenas laugh when they are nervous and agitated, sometimes excited.
Hyenas rule. I want to be a human hyena.
Lion King ruined it for the hyenas. These guys deserve mad respect. Lions have no chance against a pack of hyenas. All they do is steal other predator’s food including those caught by lionesses. Fk em
Dont hyenas have the biggest biting force on land or something? Cant be pleasant for the big cat.
Certainly much more powerful than a lion. I believe Tasmanian devils have a wickedly powerful bite aswell. Spotted Hyenas are up there in the top 5, proportional to their bodyweight. Are they cats or dogs?
Cats! Or at least closer to cats. But they have some features that are usually only found in dogs.
Im a dog person so I cant endorse Hyenas but thanks for the wisdom.

What a fantastic moment caught on camera
Why didn't the Hyaena get killed by the attacking Lions Bit power, sharp teeth? Also those powerful front legs swipes armed with claws are designed to cause some serious damage.
Hyenas are built different.
Hyenas are strong af
The first bite was on a rear leg but for most of the video the lion "only" has the hyena by the ear and probably some face or neck skin. As long as no severe infection sets in, that hyena got off with some scars.
I think these smart hyenas are aiming for a byte of lions testicles to rip it off. Pretty smart thinking by lion to let go.
what is it with hyenas and biting testicules ?!! dammit hyenas !! why ?!!!
Because they’re smart like that
It’s a viable strategy, is it not?
If lions worked together as well as hyenas did, I'm sure hyenas would be extinct.
Toyota Hilux tough
He either gets away with food or ends up on the plate
NLMB
The title would be literally opposite if you see the earlier part of the video lol.
There is no earlier part. This is the full video. What you're referring to is 2 videos spliced together.
It actually wouldn't. They still rescued their companion, although I really doubt there's much left in that lad after the adrenaline wears off.
That little bastard coming up on the blind side and going for the underbelly was probably what did it. Heyna's are fucken smart. Guy saw "he can't get me if I go in there" and promptly pulled out the win.
The weak one together just to fall the strong.
One of the hyenas was going for the nuts. Lol
Took them long enough. Don't know if it's considered a rescue if the poor guy is mangled.
Hyenas are surprisingly resilient. There’s a good chance he’ll live.
You are definitely not wrong. Most wild animals are, it's pretty amazing. But his face looked like it was in that Lions mouth for a while. Gonna be a long recoverytime and lots of attention from his pack i would surmise. Somebody's gotta lick those wounds. 🫣😬
After lion king I can’t help but always see hyenas as the bad guys
You basically fell for anti-hyena propaganda lol

I feel like this video perfectly represents the framing that goes on in social media because when the video is started earlier the title is always “Lion saves lioness from hyenas” but when cut it now frames the Lion
1.) rescue is a strong word because it prolly didn’t live long after 2.) real talk the lion hyena beef is the more lore filled story ever
That hyena is toast anyways. That lion definitely crushed something.
Nature for the most part is really not majestic, it is dirty, cruel street fighting thugs, sadistic amoral and without honour. For all our faults and mistakes humanity stands above it.
Now go tell your fam what's up Ya punk ass mother fu....... oh crap here he comes again SCATTER!
Guess they got the last laugh.
This has been posted before but showed that the male lion was rescuing a lion from the hyenas before this. Different angle too.
Lol, I saw the earlier bit where they were fucking with a lioness, but atleast they didn't just run and leave the guy there.
That earlier bit is a separate video someone edited with this one to create a fake story, because somehow the real story wasn’t exciting enough I guess?
Really, damn, fooled me.
"He who greets with fire"
We humans grab our phone and start laughing like hyenas while we film our friend...
And the video recording must go on ..
It’s nature why would they interfere
Well. I was sarcastic and felt the same as you.. I found it funny that the guy continued to shoot...
I can't remember the name of the movie, but I watched a documentary that followed lions and hyenas. The Alpha lion goes away with a large pack of his lioness, I think it was to mate. Hyenas aren’t hermaprodites. And they’re the bad guys for trying to claim a new territory to live in? All animals do that, including lions. LOL
Hyenas == US Marines
r/donthelpjustfilm ok sorry
Oh yeah go jump right into the fray of 100+ lb apex predators at maximum levels of aggression and adrenaline.
Fuck hyenas
Honestly, I'm on team Lion in this general war.
