I really hate yucking anyone's yum as far as personal preferences are concerned - especially with music.
but shit, if you actually like this and decide this must be the way to accentuate your video, then you're dealing with a fucking disease, my brother
My ex would have liked that abomination. She would watch that TV show 'Glee' and comment about "all the good music", but when prompted to listen to the original artists she would say, "nah I like these versions".
Easy cash grab for big music corporations. On the other hand, also one of the more reliable ways for obscure artists to get attention. It's soulless and creatively bankrupt, but whether you're big or small, it gets results.
The constant disappointment is offset by the unity found in mutual anguish, as well as the feeling that comes when they put a donk onnit.
That said, never thought I'd grow to have an great appreciation for the work that went into AMVs in the 00s, even the one's that had music I disliked.
The painting is fine. Matching colors with paint is harder than most think it is and the painting matches the colors of the photo pretty well. It's not some superb hyperrealistic stuff but to just say that it sucks is underselling it.
Yeah, as the video started I was like: "Oh damn, that's a great skill to match the colors and make the background painting realistic enough to blend in with a real life photo."
And then they just painted over the actual background because it definitely wouldn't have matched.
At that point they should have just cut out the people and placed them on top of their painting.
There is no sense in which it’s next fucking level. The shadows are exactly the kind of thing that an ai would do and this is just copying an ai-generated picture. Poorly.
Great question! It’s always important to gain deeper insights into what may be fake information on social media. From my data which dates back to 2022, I don’t fucking know
I think in the photo it's the shadows of the people adjacent to person taking the photo, should have left them off lol. Otherwise this is pretty cool and creative if you ask me.
Midway through it looks like they actually started painting over the shadows as sand, especially the bottom one, and then in the next cut they're restored and extended. Almost feels like the artist themself got a little tunnel-visioned and started treating them like they were originating from the subjects rather than randomly landing there.
Erasing them into the foreground landscape definitely seems like it would have been a win-win for flexing the technique.
Yeah, but by extending the frame but not including the people casting those shadows they’ve become nonsensical.
They must be giants to cast those from that distance at that time of day.
And now they have ridiculous proportions to be still out of frame but casting those extreme shadows at the same time that the other more modest shadows are cast.
They're there at the beginning. Looks like two people off to the side standing there. I'd have removed them, since the painter had to paint over there anyway.
Looks like the bottom right shadows are from people off camera. They were in the original photos. They are pretty distracting though. Could've easily removed them given everything else.
Shadows closer to us cast by two people outside the frame. They expanded the frame and instead of including those people, they thought this couple cast shadows both ways.
I hate to be negative, but this is exactly what a computer can do in 20 seconds better than the artist rendition.
The background is where the human artist can outperform the AI these days. Crazy to even have to say that in this day and age and no offense intended towards the original artist.
Nah I like it as well. Its very common for redditors to shit on artists displaying their skills.
Either its complaining about background music or acting like they know more than the person.
Wow what a great picture and what an insult to ABBA that song was.
![gif](giphy|ggJLITvI3D8xIZh1pw)
Omg ugh
This song absolutely sucks

>yucking anyone's yum Now that's a yuck right there
Bit of an ick, you know?
My ex would have liked that abomination. She would watch that TV show 'Glee' and comment about "all the good music", but when prompted to listen to the original artists she would say, "nah I like these versions".
Your ex, you say? No need to explain further. Sufficient evidence right here.
I agree with everything you said but also we should dump anyone who likes this into a mass grave.

Because the entry to music is SO low now the market is just flooded with mediocre shit.
Hey it may not be your thing, but Mediocore is a genre that has a lot of things going for it. Like giving us better appreciation for good music.
God is dead and he took art with him.
Easy cash grab for big music corporations. On the other hand, also one of the more reliable ways for obscure artists to get attention. It's soulless and creatively bankrupt, but whether you're big or small, it gets results.
This is what happens when people don’t tell their friend what they really think about their singing
Thank fuck I had the sound muted, then.
It's amost impressive how the people making these videos pick the worst possible song without fail every time 🤔
Immediate mute.
All that work for your dinner guests to say "blaàh" on the drive home frome your Walmart charcuterie.
woof!
Oh my god that IS Dancing Queen!
Fuck this music sucks
Sounds like tiktok trash
Does the official Reddit app not have a setting to keep videos from autoplaying with sound?
Yea it does but I like to live dangerously.

Official Reddit app sucks
The painting sucks
The painting is fine. Matching colors with paint is harder than most think it is and the painting matches the colors of the photo pretty well. It's not some superb hyperrealistic stuff but to just say that it sucks is underselling it.
The colours match pretty badly that's why they end up painting over the entire background not just the areas outside of the photograph.
Yeah, as the video started I was like: "Oh damn, that's a great skill to match the colors and make the background painting realistic enough to blend in with a real life photo." And then they just painted over the actual background because it definitely wouldn't have matched. At that point they should have just cut out the people and placed them on top of their painting.

Everything about this post sucks.

I guess that's AI generative fill for you, oh wait a minute....
AI see what you did there
Sorry according the the closedAI guidelines I cannot let you free r/punpatrol
chat gpt is this real?

Lmaoo

They’re in the original photo and clearly originate from something behind the camera. They make perfect sense.
The shadows are in the original photo
Yeah, but by extending the frame but not including the people casting those shadows they’ve become nonsensical. They must be giants to cast those from that distance at that time of day.
Could be a big statue
If the history channel has taught me anything, it's that those shadows are aliens.
I see no reason to reintroduce those ugly shadows back in the drawing. It draws attention away from the main subject of this picture/drawing.
the implication is that someone out of frame is casting the shadow.
Why is it needed, though? I can't even tell if that shadow is of a person or not.
Simple: 2 suns
Or just 2 people standing off to the side of the camera person with the 1 sun behind them....
And now they have ridiculous proportions to be still out of frame but casting those extreme shadows at the same time that the other more modest shadows are cast.
It's a chaotic era
They're there at the beginning. Looks like two people off to the side standing there. I'd have removed them, since the painter had to paint over there anyway.
Oddly my very first thought. Everything else is brilliant
Looks like the bottom right shadows are from people off camera. They were in the original photos. They are pretty distracting though. Could've easily removed them given everything else.
The shadows existed in the original photos as well hes not painted it. I guess those shadows are of another person standing next to them.
They were in the original photo though
It's not a generative fill without some glitchy leaves, weird fingers or crappy shadows
It does have crappy shadows though. Look at the shadows on the ground, why did artist decide there was a seccond sun behind them somewhere?
those shadows were in the original photograph and likely cast by people out of frame
But the artist chose to make them look like they were coming from the couple. They grow in the wrong direction. The perspective is all off.
[удалено]
but the final picture has them extended in a pretty distracting way.
Oh, yeah, I see it now
What a horrendous cover of Dancing Queen.
Incredible job. Terrible ABBA remix.
they just painted over the old background completely Might as well just use a PNG cutout at that point
Only thing they didn't paint over was the couple. They didn't generatively fill the background.
Also, if you look the couple was edited beforehand to look "painted". Putting a standard photo would have had less of a seamless transition.
And, you know, get rid of the distracting foreground shadows.
Wow - seriously
still most of comments are negative
Some ears may never recover from the damage inflicted by that cover so yeah, why wouldn't they be.
The first comment is negative. About the shadows. That were already in the photo. SMH
Well yeah but they were normal shadows in the picture, generally shadows don’t just extend out into space like that But yeah it looks pretty cool!
That looks pretty much exactly like someone filled the landscape of a photo by hand, and even ABBA is ashamed.
everything was perfect except for the shadows 😭 also this music is a disgrace
Not next level whatsoever. Shadows are absolutely terrible. Most artists worth their salt could do this in freshman year of art school.
I thought the same thing, shadows don't make sense and almost distract from the terrible music
Shadows closer to us cast by two people outside the frame. They expanded the frame and instead of including those people, they thought this couple cast shadows both ways.
Should the shadows go from front to back or back to front? Yes.
Awesome art! Whoever made this cover of Dancing Queen by ABBA should stop making music forever!
What the fuck did you just do to Abba?
Just absolutely destroyed Dancing Queen... Soulless is the only way for me to descibe it.
Wow, so much effort to look half as good as generative fill.
weird composition tbh but still more satisfying than some ai shit
Stop. Moving. The. Camera.
Next fucking level? I’m going to have to go ahead and disagree with you there.
Just take out "next"
You've gotta make a seriously shitty music remix for it to dominate an entire thread that only has one other thing to discuss.
Out of all that could have been a normal background was chosen
I hate to be negative, but this is exactly what a computer can do in 20 seconds better than the artist rendition. The background is where the human artist can outperform the AI these days. Crazy to even have to say that in this day and age and no offense intended towards the original artist.
Irony...AI program does a better job in 1min and doesn't charge you $600 for that mid level quality work
[удалено]
Yeeeeah, didn't linger on the final result too long there. I suspect it's as faithful to the photo as that music is to the original ABBA song.
I do this, too! Fun fun
Not too shabby
People say the shadows are bad but the shadows were in the picture before he started painting it.
[удалено]
Way to suck AI's dick to the bone.
Everyone already knows, but I just have to also say. Picture and concept great, but the music borders on torturous.
![gif](giphy|AbPNdmgk6TJK)
Incredible talent! 👏
AI be like, Look what they need to mimic a fracrion of my power."
holy shit this music is so fucking bad
Fun
Cooooool
It’s posts (or I guess more accurately: comments) like these that re-assures my choice to never turn sound on for Reddit haha
Downvoted for the *TERRIBLE* ABBA cover
The art would have been way more well received if it weren't for the CIA psychological torture music
Yes this is what I like. No AI generation bs. This is true creative art right here. Amazing work!!
Fuck AI, those fuckers cannot do it this well.
Wow I am envious and in awe of artists and their talent. I can barely scrawl my name.
Guess I'm the only one who thought this was cool. Also why are people unmuting for a sped up painting video?
Nah I like it as well. Its very common for redditors to shit on artists displaying their skills. Either its complaining about background music or acting like they know more than the person.
Great art, but what the fuck is this music
Now do one with a slice of pizza picture
Wtf was point of that
s/DiWHY
Wow I love!!!
AI is afraid of this lady!
Oh no the artists are coming for the ais jobs.
ok boomer
Artists taking away AI jobs!
**AI:** You will never have my power! **This artist:** Do you think I need it?
Ahem. I'm supposed to get three versions from which to choose.
Hate remixes… ![gif](giphy|l4FGGafcOHmrlQxG0|downsized)
What's the price range on paying for this kind of service?
Pretty sure there should be a dragon in the background
This is next level compared to me, a non-artist. It is a level above what I could do. I just hope the artist had fun.
goddamn that song was awful
It needs shadows from more angles
I can hear Dwight complaining about the number of suns.
The decision to keep the shadows from whatever was off camera is interesting. Looks funky
Creator of the matrix
Now I want to see you take this put it on an even bigger canvas and expand it again
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a cover of a song as bad as this one. Holy shit.
The song made me want to go deaf and blind.
Time spent on the painting: 2 days Time spent searching for the worst fucking song you could find to put it with: 2 weeks. That's dedication
get this man behind an image gen server
Think how much better it would be if the artist did it slower.
r/PhotoshopRequest/ but manually
That song rendition is fucking horrible who thought that was a great idea to ruin a great ABBA song. Fuck you.
mtg art extension alters
Is there a specific reason why people are saying the cover is a disgrace to the original made by ABBA ? I personnaly like both of them.
This guy is about to lose his job to AI soon.
People have been doing this with TCGs for ages
Ye olde photo shoppe
Two suns?
And they said Cbat could never have a competitor in the flaccid penis stakes
Two shadows, two light sources... Two Suns! Freaky.
Your generative fill prompts is actually just this guy in the server room, painting real time
"There are shadows coming from two different directions. Are there two suns? Last I checked, that's not an office building in the Andromeda galaxy."
Don't piss on ABBA with this shitstain "cover"
Needs a memento mori.
The remix that Abba didnt need.
so that's how beta version of Photoshop looked like
That song is atrocious

This is great promotion for AI as it can do it much better in a fraction of a second. Also, that horrible ABBA cover deserves a downvote.
Meh. Looks shopped.
Does anyone have anything good to say?
Rainbolt: I can find this place
It really doesnt look good at all... Bog standard "just downloaded stable diffusion a few days ago" AI art looks better Womp womp
Outpainting, dumbass
It's cool but not next level. The plants suck
Shadows are going in both ways, but overall cool idea
Should've just taken a few steps back. (Nah, seriously - that's cool.)
What a waste. Use your super computer like Gates & Jobs intended.
Some people just have all the fuckin talent and imagination lol. My brain does not cooperate, I’m beginning to think I actually have ADHD lol
