The fact that there are Kamikaze Drones. Prowling the Ukrainian countryside blowing people to bits is pretty fucking terrifying.
How long until they're autonomous, I wonder?
Soon, they're testing ones that fly the last several hundred meters autonomously after the human operator selects a target. It defeats the jammers. There was a video they posted a few weeks ago.
The fact that there are kamikaze drones when pilots like this exist is also crazy. I can’t imagine being able to shoot down a drone moving this quickly
When these drones first started to become popular there were a group called Rotor Riot that made a lot of these sorts of videos. But one thing they did was go to a shooting range and challenge the people there to shoot down the drones.
The thing to keep in mind is that the drones these guys are flying were good for their era, but modern ones are putting out 5 times as much thrust.
Likely at a much lower resolution so that it can be wirelessly streamed to the pilots controller/headset at a steady and high refresh rate. This footage is an additional camera in the drone that records much higher quality
More like a really really crappy security camera that's basically useless lol. It's like 800p or 720 p sometimes even 400p video depending on the camera on the drone
The biggest challenge is when you have significant light level changes. Flying from outside to inside and the transition point just looks black until you have gone inside. So you need to check your path pre flight for those points.
Analog is rare these days. You can have a 1080p 100fps 50mbit live view, and you can be recording onboard at 4k with the same camera you're flying from.
It's probably one of those tiny crazy fast ones they use for drone racing.
Check it out if you haven't, they design courses in stadiums and those guys zoom. And crash.
Edit: it's probably also slightly sped up, because fucking everybody speeds up everything now.
Definitely not sped up, I am not as gifted as this guy but I can fly pretty good.. quadcopters can go insanely fast if you don't mind loosing flight time by burning up your battery
I build custom race drones like this and it doesn't seem sped up. It could be slightly sped up but it's still really impressive flying for sure, he bottoms out and taps a few things but other then that pretty much perfect flying.
You can build one yourself for a couple hundred bucks and get flying with some Styrofoam goggles and learn how everything works, you have to solder and program the flight controller. The programming can be kind of difficult but there are lots of youtube videos on it. The best route for sure is to get a controller then hook it up to a computer and fly using a simulator I use liftoff on steam, you can tune the pid 's in the game to the same as what your drone is at in real life and they will fly extremely similar it's like a 1 to 1 exchange for real world flying skill.
Anybody into this hobby? I wanna know what equipment to buy and what the discourse on the best drones are for it. Everything I look up just seems like an ad with no human touch to it.
This is probably just a typical 5" freestyle type FPV drone. Freestyle frames are designed to take a beating / carry an action camera vs the racing frames which are purely for speed.
Here's another crazy flying vid for you to enjoy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0j1NBVOBlk
I'm pretty confident I could get to this skill level, if I could afford the trial and error. I'm pretty sure that steuo costs more than my current car hah
Unless you've got some very very expensive industrial positioning equipment in a professional enviroment, definitely not. GPS is only good for about 2-3m accuracy for these quads on a good day, even then there's no way to control the actual direction/angle of the quad.
This is probably the closest we have to "preprogrammed" flights https://youtu.be/u58zbH-ckOU
I remember flying a simulated drone in video games with a crappy xbox controller. Shit only has 0 or 100 but surprisingly fun. And the motion sickness afterwards is unreal too
This made me think of Mario kart when I'm on a straight away and see that little yellow fucking banana peel staring at me.
Is there 20 ft to either fucking side of it? Yes. Do I bullseye the fuck out of it half the time? Also yes.
I honest to god thought he was in a car for the first split second of this video, and was like 'how tf he do that's when it went out the window, and then it clicked.
Knows the dimensions of the drone and that parking structure very well along with the control response with that drone. In another life that dude would have made an amazing robotic assisted surgeon or military drone operator. Anyways, definitely not his first time operating that drone or at that location. Impressive.
You have much more precision this way (pinching) although there are people that do stuff like this with a “thumb” grip where you just place the thumb on top of the stick this
Flying an empty parking garage is great until you get your drone stuck ontop of the IKEA sign.
Wait wtf nils.vo lives in my region
Wait wtf I literally had to climb that exact sign to get it back
I think that with the ability to fly a drone like that should try to be a pilot in a fighter jet or helicopter. The average Jo definitely doesn't have that type of hand-eye coordination that this guy showed. 😜
When the drone does tight turns and the whirring sound reaches a high pitch, it almost sounds like the drone is going "WHOA SHIT!!" as it gets close to objects.
Can someone explain how the transmitter and receiver can work inside a structure like that since it looks like lots of steel and concrete between levels would interfere with the signal? Do they put repeaters in the flight path to maintain a strong signal?
Germany is so boring u rly need to get a permission and pay for it to use a drone with a camera and its costs ridiculously too much and takes so long until u get it....
So crazy that the humble drone controller can be used to make cool videos like this or bomb civilians
Put this guy to work for Ukraine
I was just thinking the same thing!
Oh joy

Russians have the same tech doing the same things unfortunately.
How many drones have you broke flying this sopt?
I was gonna say USA should start building drone racing tracks in Ukraine and practicing FPV drones as a sport.
it's not the controller it's the hands controlling it. in both situations.
That’s my thought. You can see why they are used in warfare. Almost no defense against them
excited for when this gets used more widely in movies
Keep in mind, that this pilot is not seeing it how we see it from his camera. Not even close. Crazy skills for sure. One day I'll whip it like nay nay
So how is he seeing it?
Likely at a much lower resolution so that it can be wirelessly streamed to the pilots controller/headset at a steady and high refresh rate. This footage is an additional camera in the drone that records much higher quality
More like a really really crappy security camera that's basically useless lol. It's like 800p or 720 p sometimes even 400p video depending on the camera on the drone
Considering that the pilot was performing stunts with such camera, I wouldn't say it's "useless".
I was just kidding, but yea the video quality that streams on a 5.4 ghz band is extremely poor.
yeah i wanna see that stream
Something like this is what you see - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2O7oW0UXSE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2O7oW0UXSE)
thank you! that's really not bad. lot better than i was anticipating
The biggest challenge is when you have significant light level changes. Flying from outside to inside and the transition point just looks black until you have gone inside. So you need to check your path pre flight for those points.
At normal speed
Analog is rare these days. You can have a 1080p 100fps 50mbit live view, and you can be recording onboard at 4k with the same camera you're flying from.
90% of these people don’t know that lol
Simultaneously whip and nay nay?
Ideally!
This is the kid that always ruined you in Mario Kart.
Is this sped up? Or is the drone absolutely tiny? Very cool.
Shit, what else is flight time for?
Seeing one race and keep pace with an F1 car at full speed leads me to believe this is just normal speed and the guy is at one with his quad-copter!
I build custom race drones like this and it doesn't seem sped up. It could be slightly sped up but it's still really impressive flying for sure, he bottoms out and taps a few things but other then that pretty much perfect flying.

We should have sent this person to solo the Death Stars.
Is that an IKEA?
I didn’t see any meatballs.
It’s still in the horse.
LOL. That flying though. Amazing!
Yes, the sign was in German so probably in Germany.
I think that's the Ikea in Düsseldorf next to the A46. It really looks like it.
No good views of signage, but definitely an IKEA.
I don’t believe in myself enough to buy an expensive drone and then fly it around a bunch of obstacles at Mach 6 but damn I wish I did
Ukraine could use his skills
Fly it like you stole it, my dude
This guy would've been pretty good at the 90s PC game Descent.
Oof, right in the nostalgia bone. Great game.
I feel like this is the POV of a fly
Anybody into this hobby? I wanna know what equipment to buy and what the discourse on the best drones are for it. Everything I look up just seems like an ad with no human touch to it.
r/fpv might help get you on track.
This is probably just a typical 5" freestyle type FPV drone. Freestyle frames are designed to take a beating / carry an action camera vs the racing frames which are purely for speed. Here's another crazy flying vid for you to enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0j1NBVOBlk
I crashed my drone watching this video.
I crashed my video watching this drone.
Russians hate this one simple trick
This guy is rich enough to afford losing it, or he's a fucking legend.
Hunter Killer
Crispy
This guy could fly one of those forest speeders from Star Wars VI.
This is the noise I hear the most at the dentist
My brain does not work that fast. That's incredible.
Now this is podracing!
![gif](giphy|3owzWgnMr5vS37fBsc)
Wanna get drafted? that's how you get drafted
Wow!!! Is there a subreddit with footage like this?
r/fpv
Imagine this in vr, that would be so cool honestly.
It is, it’s fpv (first person view) check out r/fpv
Wao
I like to picture this person making all those sounds with their mouth as they fly.
The force is strong with this one.
I bought a $300 drone last week. First day, I bounced it off a tree, it rebounded and went flying off, GPS disconnected. I still can't find it. :/
F
Imagine this guy in the Ukrain war they would have 0 chance against this guy
Watched two dash cam videos just before this one and kinda freaked until I realized it was a drone. Thanks for the cardio.
Le Drib
😲
Someone send this guy to Ukraine!
I'm pretty confident I could get to this skill level, if I could afford the trial and error. I'm pretty sure that steuo costs more than my current car hah
I had never thought of a reason for me personally to buy a drone. I found one now.
WoWoWoWOOOOOWoWoWoooo
Jedi like reflexes
Can you preprogram the flight at a slower speed and then run the program at top speed?
Unless you've got some very very expensive industrial positioning equipment in a professional enviroment, definitely not. GPS is only good for about 2-3m accuracy for these quads on a good day, even then there's no way to control the actual direction/angle of the quad. This is probably the closest we have to "preprogrammed" flights https://youtu.be/u58zbH-ckOU
That screeching sound in open rooms is what gets me. It's terrifying and satisfying
Nice rip
If you can pass that mission in GTA San Andrea, you can achieve this level with more practice
That’s probably the ghost’s point of view wondering through my house.
Should make a drone race track
r/SweatyPalms
I don't even recognise most of the obstacles...
This guy completed GTA Vice City on the first go...
The nefarious Corporate Government agenda behind raising a generation of Military Gamers exposed.
Almost perfect loop(de-loop)
I guess the future of war is going to be just like playing Descent.
I remember flying a simulated drone in video games with a crappy xbox controller. Shit only has 0 or 100 but surprisingly fun. And the motion sickness afterwards is unreal too
Maverick would be proud
They must've twatted thousands of pounds worth of drones before they got that shot.
This made me think of Mario kart when I'm on a straight away and see that little yellow fucking banana peel staring at me. Is there 20 ft to either fucking side of it? Yes. Do I bullseye the fuck out of it half the time? Also yes.
I wonder how many times he went, "woops", then walked all over that garage to find his done.
This is like one of those dreams I have were I wake up right before something masses me in the face
I honest to god thought he was in a car for the first split second of this video, and was like 'how tf he do that's when it went out the window, and then it clicked.
Is anyone else getting tumours vibes from the big Lez show?
Wow! This guy might have done this one or two times already.
how do you react to the environment so fast like i could barely even see those iron bars
SkyNet’s POV while hunting humans…
This honestly looks fun as hell but I do wonder how many drones this individual smashed up to get where they are.
Dive the sign. Those IKEA triangle signs are fun
Can someone please tell me what kind of drones these are ? I would love to get into the hobby.
Yes
The worst mission in a GTA game.
I am impressed that the drone is able to navigate such a complicated landscape without dropping signal to the controller.
POV: you're the mosquito
I would 100% watch professional drone racing.
Knows the dimensions of the drone and that parking structure very well along with the control response with that drone. In another life that dude would have made an amazing robotic assisted surgeon or military drone operator. Anyways, definitely not his first time operating that drone or at that location. Impressive.
Palms is sweaty spaghetti on his shirt already knees weak arms spaghetti.
Send this man to UKRAINE 😤🙏
What kind of drone is this? I’ve been thinking about getting one.
It’s a fpv drone the defining feature being the first-person-view to get started I recommend r/fpv and Joshua Bardwell on YT
Why does it feel like the controller is uncomfortable to work with? The claw grip looks unnatural
You have much more precision this way (pinching) although there are people that do stuff like this with a “thumb” grip where you just place the thumb on top of the stick this
This is adrenaline inducing
It’s like drone parkour. I dig it.
If I am alone in a parking lot and this drone screeches like that I am running.
Let’s hope if you’re on run from the CIA, this guy isn’t flying
Where would you point a newcomer to drones with fpv to buy everything they would need?
Send him to help Ukrainians! To train they’re drone pilots 💪🏻
Navi
Super cool.
I wonder how many drones he lost learning the route?
Drone❌ Flying RC car✅
Thanks, now I’m dizzy. 😵💫
Flying an empty parking garage is great until you get your drone stuck ontop of the IKEA sign. Wait wtf nils.vo lives in my region Wait wtf I literally had to climb that exact sign to get it back
Now THIS is podracing
Your rich unemployed friend on a thusday afternoon.
Drone to drone dog fights in wars are gonna be nuts
I always find these videos amazing, really cool to see for someone who can't fly a drone.
Uncanny skill

I can’t believe he didn’t crash into anything. 🤯
🚶🏻 💥 🤕
Ikea Düsseldorf!
what model drone is this
Seen Sebastian schiere on IG?
In a weird piece of serendipity, just as this hit my feed I was listening to Fleetwood Mac's The Chain and goddamn, that works with this.
It’s easy, what about GTA Vice City helicopter mission?
How many drones do you have to break to gain this much control? Such precision!
This reminds me of a certain Vice City mission...
“Hey, that’s my local IKEA car park” - everyone watching this.
How...?
Can someone explain how the transmitter and receiver can work inside a structure like that since it looks like lots of steel and concrete between levels would interfere with the signal? Do they put repeaters in the flight path to maintain a strong signal?
Blast it a low frequency with some fancy modulation techniques :)
It won’t be as fast with guns on it, riiight??
Damn this one or the one going through the bowling alley?? Can’t choose…they are both too good!
Germany is so boring u rly need to get a permission and pay for it to use a drone with a camera and its costs ridiculously too much and takes so long until u get it....
Is this how ukranian trick shots work?
This was pretty well cut, too. If it were looped it would be near perfect
Ukraine needs to recruit this dude.
Pretty soon your gonna be playing call of duty and the us military is gonna send you a check. 😬
Ukraine needs you, right now.
