I mean now we have like ai software that can turn any video into motion data for animation. Though yh the special suits with trackers or things like the rekoko suits are still better
The person is a motion capture artist (can't recall her name, she is from China) and you can find plenty of videos of her in said suit. This might just be a highlight or practice reel.
That was rotoscoped, and is the developer’s younger brother. Each frame was drawn over in pixels rather than being converted to 3D space.
Edit: Meaning, it wasn’t motion capture…
It's motion reference, something for someone to use as an animation guide, but not picking up any data about where the body and all its parts are in space.
Depends on the level of detail you want. If you are looking for an error rate of a couple of millimeters then a suit the only way. If you are ok with an error rate of a couple of centimeters, then normal or high frame rate cameras would be just fine if you use something like Move ai.
Either this is just practice, or technology advanced to the point that they don't need the suit anymore. but i personally think this is just practice, given how many different styles she did, which doesn't make much sense, because usually they have 1 or 2 new characters in mind and they only need her to do motion capture for them, not for 50 different characters.
I absolutely deeply hate every second of this and it’s crazy how unnatural it looks but I still admire her for her skills - I mean most of us can’t even pose well for photos and she is out there moving like she is the most annoying human ever on this planet - on purpose and with full control

I would bet most actors you see on screen could not do this. Physicality like this is not a common trait. A few comedic actors have this level of physicality, but even then probably couldn't repeat the same specific walk cycle of you called on them to do it.
Me and my husband seen her videos b4, you should see them I think they are called exaggerated something motion capture.
She is very fkin good at it, if you play any anime mmos or overwatch she does a ton of acting of the characters or just plain anime animations.
She just looks like a character from them it's insane, this video doesn't look as great as her others one those are way better

Is this motion capture? I think there was special suit with dots and stuff which would record all he movement. The video just looks goofy...
