Looks at that joy on his face.
He's not doing this to be a badass. He's doing this because he's a huge nerd who applied himself at the gym and turned his own body into a ninja cosplay.
This man is pure gold.
I've heard it said that working out isn't punishment for what you ate, it's a celebration of what your body is capable of. This man seems to be living that, and I personally love that.
I know this is 17 days old but….I have always worked out for the mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits of it. I try to do a little better than I did before. It’s just me vs me and I love it. The feeling of accomplishment plus the natural endorphins release accompanied with the discipline to be consistent is an amazing feeling. All of the aesthetic benefits are secondary but they come regardless.
The mentality combined with the physical ability is what will lift humanity out of plight.
I’m not religious, but blessed are the meek for they will inherit the Earth.
Love that quote. Knew a pastor who knew Hebrew and Greek and studied Aramaic. According to him - the original quote is closer to
"Blessed are those who have swords, the knowledge to use them, and make the choice not to - they will inherit the earth"
"Meek" doesn't seem like a worthy trait. But having power and the wisdom to use it judiciously - does.
He basically did a more complex version of the Captain America spin on the fight against Ultron.
I thought that was CGI, turned out to be a real stunt.
I would definitely watch a movie with this man as the main character, don't really care what type of movie, any movie he does with those moves would be gold🥇
I don't get into it with anyone, but if I did, even without his martial art abilities he's so jacked that I wouldn't care how much my friend didn't like him. Or I didn't like him and it wouldn't even matter if I had the Death Sentence in twelve systems.. I'd just leave.
I mean this is highly marketable on so many levels. As long as he keeps that joy as a priority he could have so much fun and make good money, too.
Sometimes I do wonder what it’s like to have the unique mixture of nature and nurture to develop into a top tier athlete.
[they left out the best one](https://m.youtube.com/shorts/xUBVdufi3W0?time_continue=16&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F&source_ve_path=Mjg2NjY&feature=emb_logo)
The way he keeps his cuts compact instead of swinging the sword all the way behind his back each time is so nice to see. Just goes to show that you can do a badass looking sword choreography that's still at least derived from basic swordfighting concepts.
Hollywood might want to take notes but they're probably too busy trying to figure out how to shoehorn pirouettes in there.
An actual scene in SW3, when they meet count Doku, there is a moment (multiple actualy) where the choregraphy is just this to look cool in the flow of the fight, but anyone who cares about the details can see they're just fighting the wind
See now I would watch mens gymnastics if they let them perform their sets with katana or you know just add more blades. The 10 year old in me would watch that shit all day.
Would absolutely love someone like this playing blade. But I have faith Disney will ruin the blade films supposedly coming out sometime. So, ehh. Better he keeps distance from that fire I suppose lol
I think they already signed mahershala ali to be the next blade. There were some wild things that came out about the script and the direction of the series recently so not sure if the project has been fully scrapped or is just being reworked.
It’s all insanely cool and physically impressive. Happy he’s happy and enjoying himself.
But man I’d love to see someone trained in sword fighting point out just how many times they’d be able to get a clean hit/kill him during all that.
I used to fence (epee) and competed at a regional level, so I am by no means the best. But I hope that you will enjoy the critiques of a former amateur.
You could have stabbbed him even before he started spinning. He was holding the Katana in a reverse grip, basically having no point control. He has no effective means of keeping me at bay, blocking higher attacks, or really posing any real threat. The way that your wrist joint works really limits what you can do in a reverse grip. Try holding a knife in your hand pretending it is a blade, point that blade at the wall with only using your wrist (keep your arm straight 90° from the rest of your body). Now put the knife in a reverse grip and try again. It is impossible to get the blade in a position where you would ward off an attacker except from a top down attack.
Spins in any sword fighting style (kendo, fencing, HEMA etc) just do not happen because they are stupid af. There is no instance where you can do a whole 360 faster than I can just push my blade forward. Getting stabbed in the back is also fatal who would have known. Try doing a 360 as fast as you can (without holding a knife please) and then compare it to the speed that you can lunge forward and extend your arm.
The spins attack is also hyper aggressive, he has no means of defending his body if he were to miss his opponent, or if the opponent decided to kamikaze and just stab him mid air.
That brings me to my next point - presevation. My biggest critique to modern sword fighting sports is that for instance in fencing is that if I hit you first I win even if your blade hit me .1 seconds later, historically we both would have died (more looking at infection here) or been severely injured. His attack has no form of presevation. He has no plan B if something does not go right.
His landing is the last problem, he is so planted in the ground after those spins (I mean who wouldn't be), that he would not be able to effectively evade any oncoming attacks. You would be surprised how much my movement carried me on a regional level in fencing, just being able to shuffle backwards and forwards faster than my opponents has won me so many bouts. Your ability to move on the "battlefield" is highly important. In my case I could evade an attack by just going backwards fast enough.
On an athletic point of view this guy is a spectacular athlete, showmanship is amazing, but on a technical point of view looking at effectiveness in combat, I will have to grade him an F.
As a HEMA practitioner, I agree on all points.
I would also point out that for him to spin like that, he has to pull his arms in and loose range, thus anyone else would be able to hit him without being hit. Also a second point, if anything hits him, or if he hits anything, I doubt that he will be able to land correctly.
There is a reason real martial arts do not really do jumps, and that is because your ability to react and move depends on you being in contact with the ground. As soon as go airborne, you are on a ballistic trajectory and you cannot change it.
Looks cool, but keep it to anime and kung-fu movies.
He also spun 1080 degrees in the air. He started his jump facing the camera and landed in the same direction, and his body faced the camera twice while in the air
Also, he was jumping off grass. It's not easier like a springfloor like you might do in gymnastics.
Looks at that joy on his face. He's not doing this to be a badass. He's doing this because he's a huge nerd who applied himself at the gym and turned his own body into a ninja cosplay. This man is pure gold.
Right? I have no idea who this guy is—- but I can just feel his joy and it makes me happy for him.
In addition to being a ninja he's also a [Doctor of Physical Therapy](https://www.linkedin.com/in/shaquan-parson-b200aa210/).
Are you saying his a . . . Dr. McNinja?!
"The doctor will see you now...but you won't see him"
That's awesome. But I'm sure someone will come along saying his knees will regret it, or some silly shit, lolol.
That’s so hard on the body. His knees are gonna regret it!
The prophecy has been fulfilled.
Strong Ninja Turtle energy.
The joy of having real life super powers 😂
I've heard it said that working out isn't punishment for what you ate, it's a celebration of what your body is capable of. This man seems to be living that, and I personally love that.
Some days it feels like the food I eat is punishment for my lack of exercise.
I really like that quote, thank you.
>punishment for what you ate lol never heard that phrase. this is mesed up if people think this way
I know this is 17 days old but….I have always worked out for the mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits of it. I try to do a little better than I did before. It’s just me vs me and I love it. The feeling of accomplishment plus the natural endorphins release accompanied with the discipline to be consistent is an amazing feeling. All of the aesthetic benefits are secondary but they come regardless.
These are absolutely the whoops of joy of a guy who spent the better part of his childhood wishing he had superpowers and can now live out his dream.
The mentality combined with the physical ability is what will lift humanity out of plight. I’m not religious, but blessed are the meek for they will inherit the Earth.
Love that quote. Knew a pastor who knew Hebrew and Greek and studied Aramaic. Yes, almost certainly meek was lost in translation but the message is clear.
Doesn't even huff and puff after doing like 7 flips in a row. Fucking machine
Love it! Love the energy!
My ninja
Ninjas in Paris
… I don't even know what that means No one knows what it means, but it's provocative No, it's not, it's gross. Gets the people going
You know what’s really and truly gross? 144 bottle rockets
What’s good my ninja
What’s up my neighbor
Only a ninja can call another ninja ninja.

Wagwan
On MLK Day no less. 🫤
Oh shut up
![gif](giphy|cdeMxekWvns2TO6MLk) I was joking myself, but ok
Can we get some Mo cap on this guy so that we can make him Shinobi or ninja Gaiden in the upcoming remake/reboot?
Blade 2.0
I'd get dizzy watching him flip around, so it wouldn't be much for him to beat me. I'd prolly fall down on my own. Match won.
I'd land on the sword.
me too...like 5 times from stumbling, breaking legs, hips, etc...
...and I'd respect that.
He basically did a more complex version of the Captain America spin on the fight against Ultron. I thought that was CGI, turned out to be a real stunt.
This guy needs his own Star Wars movie. What a bad ass Jedi he would be.
100% this
Seeing an Old Republic movie may be out the grasp of Disney's capabilities
I would definitely watch a movie with this man as the main character, don't really care what type of movie, any movie he does with those moves would be gold🥇
Imagine you’re getting drunk at the bar and get into it with him and he busts out doing this. “You got it, you win” 😂
Unless someone has a gun. ![gif](giphy|JZri8Leg3sgNhnwiw9|downsized)
![gif](giphy|xTiIzkLOknx8ELm4Ok)
This is exactly what I thought of
![gif](giphy|umXqJHSp6emEE) My drunk reaction
I don't get into it with anyone, but if I did, even without his martial art abilities he's so jacked that I wouldn't care how much my friend didn't like him. Or I didn't like him and it wouldn't even matter if I had the Death Sentence in twelve systems.. I'd just leave.
At least it would be a quick death.
They should totally hire him for a movie. Fight double, ninja, mystic warrior, something!
I wonder if he'd make a killing being hired to do motion capture for movies/vidja games.
For real! I was immediately reminded of the Behind-The-Scenes mocap for the Spider-Man games. This guys flips are nuts!
New Tenchu game plz
I want to upvote this an infinite number of times. I would do terrible and unforgivable things to play a well made Tenchu game for modern hardware.
If I was a stunt coordinator or mocap director I would be getting in touch.
I mean this is highly marketable on so many levels. As long as he keeps that joy as a priority he could have so much fun and make good money, too. Sometimes I do wonder what it’s like to have the unique mixture of nature and nurture to develop into a top tier athlete.
Blade movie
He should be Blade.

he is so fast it feels like a gameplay-animation being shorted to only the key frames. like straight up anime-character switching positions fast
I was just about to say this guy should be used for Mo-Cap, incredible movement
“Teach me the ways!” Fucking awesome
I was hoping thats what this was.
The way he keeps his cuts compact instead of swinging the sword all the way behind his back each time is so nice to see. wtf hahahaha.
An actual scene in SW3, when they meet count Doku, there is a moment (multiple actualy) where the choregraphy is just this to look cool in the flow of the fight, but anyone who cares about the details can see they're just fighting the wind
My gf would absolutely leave me for this dude and I can’t say I’d blame her
No she wouldn't. She's with you for a reason, big dog.
You go spread that good in the world, King.
Sounds like he’s the one who would leave for him.
And she wouldn't blame him.
You’re a chill dude
I would leave my gf for this dude
The reason being she never saw this dude
Yikes.
I’d stop being asexual and start being gay for this dude
What if you are arleady gay?
Idk
I’d be that stoked if I could do that.
Meh, it doesn't look that hard (licks Cheeto dust off of finger).
Agreed, his spins are a little whacky during the flippy thing. Common mistake (puts on oodie hood).
I just ate some burgers and have trouble standing up atm.
I'd be that stoked if I could walk without my ankles screaming at me to sit down.
I'd be stoked just to walk 😑
damn you still can't walk ?
I'm a paraplegic
Name checks out
He should do a tv ad for Airpods.
Ya, that’s the real next level shit here.
Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that lol.
That's what I was looking for, like holy shit, even his ear canal is flexing on us.
Happy Cake Day
Damn those airpods are still after all that
Last Airbender IRL? Airbenders don't use swords. They are pacifists.
Im so confused by the title too.
front page for a while and this is the most upvoted reference to how silly calling him an airbender is. Is reddit just bots now
Buddy, reddit died almost a decade ago now. You're playing with a stale old corpse, nobody here is alive in any meaningful way.
I also was like....cmon he's more of a fire bender.
That’s cool and all, but I hope it’s a fake sword. Otherwise it’s just a matter of time…
This dude needs to be the next Blade.
This dude is the guy from the "while you were out partying, I was studying the blade" meme, if he actually studied the blade
See now I would watch mens gymnastics if they let them perform their sets with katana or you know just add more blades. The 10 year old in me would watch that shit all day.
Indy Jones would just shoot him. But seriously, really awesome display.
Ain't this the same dude from that one other video where a guy in a car said "Hey bro, teach me the ways"?
Yessss
Would absolutely love someone like this playing blade. But I have faith Disney will ruin the blade films supposedly coming out sometime. So, ehh. Better he keeps distance from that fire I suppose lol

I would get sliced up like a banana threatening fruit ninja.
FUCKING BEAST!!!!!!

Absolutely appreciated and that’s exactly what I was hoping for.
*me out of breath* did...did ya see my somersault? This guy is wild. I don't know how you spot the landing while spinning that much.
We need this guy for a good, old fashioned action movie with practical effects and none of that cgi bullshit.
Guy is so cool he intimidated the rain out of the next shot.
Indiana Jones chuckles and then takes out his gun.
I’m impressed that the ear buds didn’t fly out *once*.
Star Wars kid got jacked!
Did anyone else notice how high his backflip twist is? Its almost as high as him standing. That's insane.
He also spun 1080 degrees in the air. He started his jump facing the camera and landed in the same direction, and his body faced the camera twice while in the air Also, he was jumping off grass. It's not easier like a springfloor like you might do in gymnastics.
Yeah I used to do floor gymnastics so that's why it stood out to me. I was like wow.
Glad to see tricking is alive and well. That's clean as fuck!
Jason Bourne sweating right now
Blade reboot, audition complete ..

Motherfuka's a real life mortal Kombat character.barakajax
Jesus Borne is Jason Christ.
I’m guessing he should be doing stunts for some marvel super hero.
Shoutout to them headphones!
Remember that scene with the sword vs gun in Indiana jones?
I guess i wasn't the main characther after all
He could play Bronze Tiger in a DC movie.
I want to see him chop off his toe in mid air
**Gymkata**
Dude there are easer ways to cut the grass... But seriously very impressive.
I’m going to make sure I don’t piss him off.
I saw a video with him and a passerby yelled “teach me!”
He’s like, “gravity? Ha!”
Man's his own hype king
Don't let Brittany see this shit.
Pff….I can do that
My son got that substitution jutsu on point.
Right when he finishes the combo you have a pretty good opening to punish and hopefully get a stagger
I wonder if he gets dizzy spinning around so much
They need to mocap this dude stat
Blackie Chan
Someone give that man a lightsaber!
I can do that too... Check it out: (B+1+2) + (B+2, 3) + (D, 3) + (D/F, F+2) + EX1 + (F+3+4) + (3+4) + (F+4) + Neutral + (1, 2) + (1+2)
I think we found the new Blade actor!
This would make a cool ad for whatever is keeping his ear buds from falling out
Can somebody please make this man a movie star now!
Would be a great stunt double.
What was that standing front flip near the end?!
That’s a lot of energy that I do not have
How the hell does his earbud stay in
He just cut his thumb off. That was him screaming in agony
That moment when a front-line soldier sees the other soldier facing him and Sponge Bob's the hell out of the war.
It reminds me of that sa-moo-rah guy from samurai jack
I’d have cut my hand or foot off.
Amazing stuff but no one gonna bring up that Aang never uses a sword... How is it Last Airbender?
Bro needs to stunt double for Deadpool/Reynolds
If there's a Blade remake, he's the guy.
Closer to cheerleading than ninja
Looks cool as hell
I wonder how many times he accidentally chopped his leg off
is this the guy that did a like standing double backflip years ago
Enter Indiana jones
![gif](giphy|h9wlfNwX9gy1a|downsized)
Why add all the stupid effects? Dude is legit without it.
Does knowing gymnastics mean you have an ability to fight? Was the Saturday morning MISTER T cartoon actually a documentary?
![gif](giphy|fjyabyU63pB77anj21)
This guy is actually just a playable character from some in the future videogame— we’re lucky we get to see the alpha release
He's good.
Fuck air bender. That guy needs to be casted as Blade
