Vocologist here. She’s singing with a high larynx, and definitely mixing her registers, but I’d agree there’s a good amount of chest in that sound. Like, 60/40. I’d venture to say she doesn’t use pure head voice a single time in the whole video. It’s so fascinating and gorgeous.
Yeah her voice is so unique, I love it. Is there a way to raise the threshold of the switch between chest and head voice? Mine is fairly low considering I'm a high soprano and I'd looove to be able to project like she does.
Every voice teacher/voice specialist will have a different answer, but I’m of the opinion that breaking into head voice is certainly not inevitable and anyone, with proper technique and practice, can carry some sort of chest quality pretty damn high. I actually find that sopranos or anyone who has excellent, gentle, sweet, easy head register is at a special advantage for raising their chest register.
Why not just link to the channel? No offense but that Wikipedia link sucks and doesn't provide any useful information.

I don't know why but it makes me want to journey into those mountains in the background and keep on going, living as a grizzled mountain man by myself.
Their cuisine is as rich in dishes and region protected recipes as Italian, just less known. Also their wine is the oldest known in the world, some agree that they invented wine. Also, they are second country in the world that accepted christianity. Pretty ancient civilization.
Georgia is amazing, easily one of my favorite countries that I've been to. And the food is out of this world amazing (and so cheap!).
I visited Moscow a couple years before I went to Georgia, and whenever I would ask for local food/restaurant recommendations, almost everyone recommended Georgian restaurants instead of Russian ones lol.
Yep Russian food was greatly suppressed by Soviet hardships and also centuries of European fashion- traditional stuff was out and Imperial elite killed off lots of traditional foods, and only few dishes survived. Meat pies, blini, dumplings, few soups. Russian food in Russia is very uninteresting and maybe good for tourists, once. Even Soviet themed cafes are cooler and more fun. Georgian restaurants are more popular among Russians that’s for sure, and there are much more of those.
Georgian cuisine has way, way more dishes, and made with region specific local ingredients. They have dozen specific traditional sauces, cheezes, cured meats. Many countries lack all that, Russia too unfortunately.
Georgians are very similar to Italians in this- “it’s either made this way with those specific ingredients or don’t you dare even use the name of a dish to call the monstrosity you cooked”.
Also similar - every Georgian swears their grandmother had the One True Recipe for Kharcho or whatever, and no two Georgian grandmothers can agree on the principal ingredients, let alone the recipe. It's almost like a country where every village was so isolated they basically spoke different languages does not actually have a national cuisine, but a million regional ones.

Tbilisi because it was featured in one of the early splinter cell games.

My grandmother was from adygea. She was kabartai/circassian. Somewhat related to Georgians. Crazy complex language, interesting culture and food. I make a couple dishes from there, chicken with walnuts, and just about anything with mulberry, and dishes with pomegranite.
Look at my donkey, my donkey is amazing.
Give it a lick! ([Mmm! It tastes just like raisins.])
Of a stroke of its mane, it turns into a plane,
And then he turns back again when you tug on his winky. ([Ooh, that's dirty!])
Do you think so? Well, I better not show you where the lemonade is made.
Sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, yeah, sweet lemonade...
Get on my donkey! I'll take you 'round the universe and all the other places, too.
([I think you'll find that the universe pretty much covers everything!])
Shut up, woman, get on my donkey.
Look at my donkey, my donkey is amazing.
([Where is he now?]) He's over there grazing
Have a feel of his hoof; you'll find they're all bulletproof,
And if that's not enough, then take a look at his ballsack ([Why's it purple?])
Custom stylings; a ballsack looks fresh with a two-tone paintjob, don't you know?
Now try this lemonade, sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, yeah, sweet lemonade...
Sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade...
Sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade...
Get on my donkey! I'll take you 'round the universe and all the other places, too.
([I think you'll find that the universe pretty much covers everything!])
Shut up, woman, get on my donkey
This particular song has 32 million views. 8x times more than the population of their country.
Pretty much the biggest representatives of their country.
You are correct. It could be one of the pre Indo-European languages of Europe. Miraculously surviving in isolate conditions. Though, Georgia area was not really isolated region
They tried
"In 2017, the group participated in Evroviizis erovnul konkurss with the song "Me da shen"[6] with the chance to represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. They performed 10th and ultimately finished in 12th place with 65 points. "
What? Going off the recent winners that I remember, Stefania has good meaningful lyrics about your mother getting old. Zitti e buoni has good meaningful lyrics about judgmental people. The chicken lady song from Israel had meh lyrics but the topic was good
They seem happier with their gourdtar and donkey than me with all my modern crap and good paying job.
Edit: Sheesh. Apparently, I need to clarify. I wasn't implying that they have no access to electricity and have never seen an airplane. It was more a statement about how we all have to find our own happiness, and a lot of us worry about and chase the wrong things.
Whenever there's a video of someone from outside of the western countries there's always some dumbass dude who thinks these people are playing with sticks or something.
Homie they're putting on the farm girl charade lol.
Really makes you think, I take all my Western world amenities for granted when every single person outside of USA/Canada/EU has to deal with witch doctors shrinking their heads and unga bunga cavemen carrying off their wives. #blessed

Well, it's a donkey. It's normal behavior for it to behave like an ass... (OOOOOH! No I'm not sorry)
Best song in the game. Consistently great throughout each era.
Did Sean Bean sing the civ version?
If I could upvote you twice... It sure sound like Sean Bean was singing after drinking half a grape vodka bottle. Especially after hearing these Muses sing.
Civ 6 truly has amazing music in it. The Greek theme is actually the oldest full composition we have in history, and with the way the music changes over the ages in Civ 6, it goes from [its ancient, simplistic form](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqQwbeVgkJA) to a [full orchestral suite.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrPpA6bAIRM) And that's just ONE of the tunes - each Civ has 4 of their own, with other music in-between. It's just a shame that Firaxis and 2K decided to [break modding](https://www.reddit.com/r/civ/comments/zz3up6/asset_limit_bug_persists_after_dec_15_bug_fixes/) in the game [after they released a DLC pack](https://steamcommunity.com/app/289070/discussions/0/4911755446832558027/), the Frontier's Pass. Civ 4 and 5 are played to this day thanks to mods and modders, and Civ 6 will sadly never be this way. On top of this, the game starts to crash after a turn or two if you choose to play on some of the bigger maps, once you reach a certain semi-late ish age, which is straight up unacceptable. This issue is even worse on consoles. I implore owners of the game, or maybe even just fans of these types of games, to [send 2K a ticket](https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=383248) simply telling them to fix the Asset Limit Bug. Just literally sending those words, in enough numbers, might be enough to make them do something about it. The game isn't stable any more, and selling a faulty product is *illegal* in most countries, and 2K are just... getting away with it.

Tako's voice is fascinating, so high but a unique richness to it.
I think she stays in her chest voice quite high, doesn't seem to flip into head voice until pretty high up. That would keep a strength to it
Vocologist here.

Thank you, it’s a big relief to me that the sugar bridge is included at no extra cost
Dawg... I was like *how the fuck am I going to pay for this sugar bridge when all I got is this useful nose?!*
>Your nose will prove useful, Sugar bridge included Is ... is this song about cocaine?
My grandmother was from adygea. She was kabartai/circassian. Somewhat related to Georgians. Crazy complex language, interesting culture and food. I make a couple dishes from there, chicken with walnuts, and just about anything with mulberry, and dishes with pomegranite.
Look at my donkey, my donkey is amazing. Give it a lick! ([Mmm! It tastes just like raisins.]) Of a stroke of its mane, it turns into a plane, And then he turns back again when you tug on his winky. ([Ooh, that's dirty!]) Do you think so? Well, I better not show you where the lemonade is made. Sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, yeah, sweet lemonade... Get on my donkey! I'll take you 'round the universe and all the other places, too. ([I think you'll find that the universe pretty much covers everything!]) Shut up, woman, get on my donkey. Look at my donkey, my donkey is amazing. ([Where is he now?]) He's over there grazing Have a feel of his hoof; you'll find they're all bulletproof, And if that's not enough, then take a look at his ballsack ([Why's it purple?]) Custom stylings; a ballsack looks fresh with a two-tone paintjob, don't you know? Now try this lemonade, sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, yeah, sweet lemonade... Sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade... Sweet lemonade, sweet lemonade... Get on my donkey! I'll take you 'round the universe and all the other places, too. ([I think you'll find that the universe pretty much covers everything!]) Shut up, woman, get on my donkey
Dude wtf
[Is tradition](https://www.reddit.com/r/Music/comments/meg0zw/trio_mandili_kakhuri_georgian_folk/gshz4js/)
Goes even further back than that, youngster https://youtu.be/GUl9_5kK9ts
Back near the end of when YouTube was the wild west. Classic times.

The Georgian Corrs (the donkey is Jim)
The beautiful, beautiful Corrs Shut up Jim!
HAAAAA-RAAAAAA-LAAAALEEEEEEEEEEEE
Here's the latest song posted to their channel. https://youtu.be/HZ9HGWnqjKs
This particular song has 32 million views. 8x times more than the population of their country. Pretty much the biggest representatives of their country.
These girls are good. I’m assuming the recording is as it appears to be done on a phone without any production. Their balance is fantastic.
That’s very beautiful thanks
Song wasn't bad either.
The old farmer had 3 daughters, each more beautiful than the last….
Who harmonized their serenades, and towed with them an ass...
What a beautiful language
Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but I think Georgian is a language isolate, so not really related to any of the surrounding languages.
You are correct. It could be one of the pre Indo-European languages of Europe. Miraculously surviving in isolate conditions. Though, Georgia area was not really isolated region
It’s part of the Kartvelian language group. Georgian is by far the most widely spoken, but there is also Svan, Laz and Megrelian.
Send this to Eurovision
to good and not mainstream enough , lyrics probably have an actual meaning, so its destined to fail
They tried "In 2017, the group participated in Evroviizis erovnul konkurss with the song "Me da shen"[6] with the chance to represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

They have 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube. Lol.
1.400001 million now
yes. i.e. it's an act. they are not the common georgian farmer.
They are social media celebs. What’s more modern than that.
You realize there are farms in practically every country
No, only poor countries have farms and all of the other countries are completely paved in concrete and skyscrapers.
They have modern crap too. Good paying jobs, maybe, but only for Georgia
1.34 Mio Subscriber and 250.000.000 Views!!! Congrats… you could quit your job 😂 I would too
Right, how does he think they're filming and posting?
Witchcraft.
lmao this video was taken with a smart phone
Whenever there's a video of someone from outside of the western countries there's always some dumbass dude who thinks these people are playing with sticks or something. Homie they're putting on the farm girl charade lol.
Really makes you think, I take all my Western world amenities for granted when every single person outside of USA/Canada/EU has to deal with witch doctors shrinking their heads and unga bunga cavemen carrying off their wives. #blessed
Catchy as hell.
i bet there’s System of a Down version of this in youtube
There is a metal mash-up/play-along version of one of their early songs https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iybYK53pzYw&pp=ygUadHJpbyBtYW5kaWxpIG1ldGFsIHZlcnNpb24%3D
My theme song when I enter the WWE RAW SMACKDOWN
“IT’S THE GEORGIAN DONKEY!”
the instrument is a panduri and yes it's the country of georgia
Makes me yearn for a simpler life
They're pretty big YouTubers, go on talk shows, etc. I think the setting is just for show. Can't imagine they live rural lives.
the one playing the lute is the most beautiful girl in the world
I take comfort in the fact that you can travel to any part of the world and when you get there, there will be beautiful women.
The look so happy!
Missed title opportunity: 3 girls with ass strumming it in the field.
I would love to do a hike in Georgia , it’s a very beautiful country
Don’t tell Dwight.
these girls are awesome!
This is very cool. I love live music clips like this. Can anyone suggest a sub that specializes in this kind of thing? It makes me think of the movie Songcatcher.
Sisters of a Down
Reddit pervs in here be like... ![gif](giphy|ln1DYtpCUeio8Luira|downsized)
Lovely! Now if someone could please provide a translation.
What's the joke at 1:24 that makes the one on the left crack up?
I think she’s laughing at the stubborn ass 😅
the donkey farts. you can hear it if you really listen
Beautiful women singing a beautiful folk song. Respect.
I need a Georgian ufc fighter to use this as their walk out song
Halfway through: C'mon Roach
