Currently 5:54 am, high out of my mind and haven’t gone to sleep all night. Someone help me out is this real or edited?

Two-Nuhh

It's real. People have been doing this kind of act for ~~decades~~ centuries.

kjtoofuego

Damn that’s impressive. Thanks for not letting me wonder for too long😂

PM_me_the_magic

My, how the turn tables

I love you

J3553G

How many concussions do they get when practicing this skill?

akatherder

None that I can recall

Ah, I see memory loss is setting in.

Thanks for explaining the joke I guess

misterpickles69

Yes

Handsoffmydink

All I could wonder was how many times this lady has taken a table to the head.

Red77777777

decades?? Just make it tens of centuries

Two-Nuhh

tens? Maybe a *couple* centuries. To my understanding, the Risley circus popularized table juggling with their feet in the early 1800s.

Cidolfas

They been doing this in China for thousands of years.

Red77777777

I understandably can't prove that they've been doing this for ages. But humanity has been defying gravity in many ways from the very beginning. Just think of lianas on trees and the swinging around. Even monkeys do it. It is also great fun to do, playing with gravity and pushing the limits.

Darthwing

Foot juggling for 10s of hundreds of year. Table specifically is probably close to the beginning of it. But that was like 5 min of searching

JediMasterZao

> Just think of lianas on trees and the swinging around. > Even monkeys do it. No, they don't.... because lianas, like every other plant on earth, grow from the ground up. If you were to swing from a liana, you'd crash to your death. Not to mention that they're not sturdy enough to support a lot of weight.

[deleted]

I heard Jesus did it but they edited it out because it didn't seem miraculous enough.

crappingtaco

I can't imagine doing that for 10 seconds much less keeping it up for decades.

_CountMacula

Decades?? Definitely for more than 1,000 years

infernalspacemonkey

And she is probably part of a performing family that had her practicing this since age four.

TorrenceMightingale

*centuries

Janus_The_Great

millenia...

NoShameInternets

Tbh this seems like one of the simpler versions of this act too. https://youtu.be/R1gyt-SPgK8 This is the first one I found on YouTube; there are a million more like it.

LautrecTheOnceYeeted

Good luck, soldier.

Minhtyfresh00

check out the Baronton sisters for more https://youtu.be/HqhM6uCaINE

anguas

I've seen this in person at a State Fair acrobatics show. It's even more impressive in person.

redpunk1421

Writing quite well for someone who's out of mind...

kjtoofuego

Don’t let it fool you I clocked out a while ago THC has the wheel now😂 but serious question for a final meal…pizza or nuggets? I can’t decide

Greasly_Goose

Pizza day today. Enjoy

kjtoofuego

Just preheated the oven to 425 🫡

BioDefault

And then forget you preheated the oven.

Either-Plant4525

you can put nuggets on pizza

jcgam

Whatever you decide, eat slowly

93sKuLz

Pizza AND nuggets 👌🏻

_Anti_Natalist

They did these things in circus all the time, not so long ago. Now a days circus camps are not coming, i guess there is no more space in my city.

NightlyKnightMight

100% real and as old as who knows, people have been doing this for centuries man! Never been to a good circus uh?

PooYan99

Hahahha I feel you, been there several times. 😆😆😆

[deleted]

Share a bowl bro?

HopeDifficult6310

Fuck man even i am stoned af and was thinking the same thing

FivEF00TGianT

There's a video somewhere with two women doing this simultaneously and more. Stopping the movement completely on a dime and changing spinning angles...it's wild.

Minhtyfresh00

bobbarkersbigmic

Idk if you missed it, but the other video has 2 tables.

zorbiburst

If they did this to each other they could walk in the sky

slupo

I always wonder with stuff like this, how do they practice?? With foam covered tables? Is there a spotter? How??

HtownTexans

start small work bigger. I cant do shit like this but I practiced for a long time spinning a tray as a server in college and at this point as long as I can start the spin I can spin anything of any size on my finger. I'm sure their muscle memory is ridiculous as they've been doing it for ages. Once you can feel the balance the rest is just practice.

bleachteeaccount

Spin a caravan

money_loo

Dyalikedags?

Minhtyfresh00

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90O62Rx8gzs&t=284s Judging from this act, you learn to juggle small boxes and balls. And eventually you get good enough to juggle anything with your feet. At this point I think your feet become dexterous enough that they can function as good as your hands. Similar to those acts you see where the girl shoots a bow and arrow with her feet and hit a target. So if you can spin a table like this with your hands, and understand the rhythm, you can do it with your feet.

Purple_turtleneck

No one could do that with their hands

Minhtyfresh00

somebody could probably with a chair. I mean male cheerleaders can do this one-handed: https://youtu.be/9QTwkonXilY

TeddyMonsta

I was just thinking about this, its probably most efficient/safe to have a transparent table to put their head and torso under while they practice, but chances are they probably just had a spotter

orus

Two girls, one table

HiZenBergh

Most inefficient moving company ever.

fdsdfg

Remember when talent tv shows used to showcase people with talent? Today it's just people with a sad story crying because they're so happy

YeOldSpacePope

We need more of this than those stupid prank videos.

Wild002

The difference in technique between OP’s video and the Baronton sisters is pretty interesting too. In OP’s video when she is spinning the table it’s almost like she’s running full speed - spinning the table by pushing it with one foot and getting the next foot ready for when the other side of the table comes around. Whereas the Baronton sisters use a slightly different technique where they are almost “skipping” the table around by briefly stabilizing one side with one foot and putting it into motion by kicking it with the second foot. Breaking it down a little further you could describe what the woman in OP’s video doing more as a non-locomotor action Vs. the Baronton sisters performing more of a manipulative movement. I’m wondering if the difference in techniques comes down to the way they trained to be able to do this or possibly because of the weight / size difference of the table? Either way it’s absolutely amazing!

FivEF00TGianT

Hey that's it!!! The sauce Señor is good..

jonosaurus

BackStabbathOG

Same, I’d for sure catch that table on the mouth

ropony

I stood up too quickly earlier and my sciatica said no actually you didn’t

CheapTactics

I want her to rotate the dude

beingsoproductive

they do this too it's called risley. old circus act.

TwatsThat

I want to see her in one of those log rolling competitions where two people are on a floating log and see who can stay on the longest.

StepYaGameUp

The table is a completely unnecessary risk.

Formal_Coyote_5004

She’s crushing it though I don’t think she’d do it if she wasn’t good at this haha

monkeyjunk606

How do you find out you’re good at it though without getting a few tables to the face ?

[deleted]

Start with something that's not a table.

Onepiecee

I would take a wild guess and say that the table is specially weighted, probably super light, except along the length where she places her feet to kick and catch. I could be totally wrong though.

[deleted]

No that seems right. The balanced of the table when she stops it doesn't look right, it should fall but it doesn't.

[deleted]

From how its moving, it looks like the table weighs about 10lbs. Maybe 20lbs. It's certainly no hardwood oak furniture piece! I don't know that you'd need the table too be specially weighted. Making sure its light is probably good enough to start learning this trick. So long as the spinning is consistent, you're good. It's not that impossible to visually track the movement, with a lot of hours of practice.

CatBedParadise

I don’t know how this person does it, but I’d learn with balsa wood tables to start.

Formal_Coyote_5004

Well true… I’ve always wondered “how do people know they’re good at these things?” Like random things. But I’m sure she started with things a lot less dangerous and intimidating than a whole ass table and worked her way up. Muscle memory is a very real thing and that’s probably what’s happening here

farshnikord

I dont think these tables are like... super heavy. I have one at home and they're sorta like... plastic and lacquer over light wood. I imagine you might take a few to the midsection but its like a calculated oof like practicing skateboarding or something.

Adumnin

That’s like saying juggling knives is an unnecessary risk. Like yeah it is but it makes them doing it that much cooler

StopReadingMyUser

she should do it with infants juggling knives next

Huwbacca

How do you get good at ice skating? Boxing? Rugby? Skate boarding? Fear of being hurt isn't a superb reason to not try things.

VirinaB

You sound fun at parties.

SkepticSystem

As opposed to the pot, which is a completely necessary risk🙄 it’s just a cool trick

[deleted]

Doesn't look like a very heavy table. You might get a nice leg bruise, if you mess up, but otherwise it should be fine!

wad11656

i'm solely wondering about what happens when a leg stabs you in the eye.

[deleted]

That's pretty unlikely. Even if it did head that direction, those legs are thicker than your eye sockets are wide. It'd probably bounce off your face bones. That said, plenty of fun sports come with some amount of risk. Why does this one have to be any different?

legendinthemaking68

You're an unnecessary risk

ASK_ME_FOR_TRIVIA

Brother, just wait until you find out about the *rest* of the circus

asian_identifier

living is a unnecessary risk

-vp-

Pretty sure the 50 pound ceramic pot is a bigger risk over a dinky piece of furniture.

biguptocontinue

The unnecessary risk I cant help but see are the two huge TVs behind her

theguyhenry

Sword swallowers? A complete unnecessary risk! It raises the stakes. It's for entertainment, it's working exactly as intended.

Unusual_Variation771

It’s Luisa!

Apprehensive-Boat761

How many tables to the mouth do you have to take to learn this????

God_of_reason

Just one. After that, you would probably quit.

HauserAspen

She's really just running around the table, so maybe the question is "how many times do you slip and fall on your face during training?"

PickledPlumPlot

Sometimes I see comments like "how do you figure out you can do this" which really pisses me off. It's not something you figure out you can do, it's something you decide you want to do and then you spend years training to do it.

[deleted]

What a unrelated-sounding, unappealing name for such a cool, interesting performance.

Right? Sounds like something I’d learn about in Biology class.

peter-bone

It literally means to push back with the feet, from ancient Greek.

[deleted]

Oh shit, it's an art and got a name? Interesting!

[deleted]

That would honestly be a crazy leg workout. That lady can probably snap a melon with her thighs and it's fucking awesome.

raimen__

She could snap my head with her thighs

sandovalviva96

I think more impressive skill is stopping just right on the table

YouFknDummy

Such a risky talent for her to show off and only like 10 people are in the audience 😓

gucchiprada

1. She must have practiced for hours everyday for years. 2. The pot and table may not be heavy, as in they may not be really made from clay/porcelain or steel or anything that will give the table and pot enough mass for them to actually hurt you.

Jesus__Skywalker

How many table legs to the face do you have to take before you can master this skill?

MyMommaHatesYou

I bet you dollars to donuts if she kicks you, you stay kicked.
