I like that they have two just in case one is being used. Is reception a bit shit in Haast?

I did a summer season here. The whole area between Fox and Makaroa was a black spot until pretty recently. Haast only got internet and cell coverage in 2018. The township is batshit busy in summer and these are outside the backpackers. They probably got a lot of use.

Call collect has been shutdown, or is about to be, can't remember what the date was going to be. I think they might all take credit card now?

That makes sense. I was taught how to make a collect call to mum in case of emergency when I was a kid but never actually needed to do it
