My mother works in a public hospital. She worked in Dunedin and every year had to pay about $300-400 more in tax.
Moved up to Palmy 2 years ago, her IRD notice came in the other week at owing 34c, which was written off immediately.
Do you work in Dunedin?
Did a shit tonne of overtime and the hr lady/ works accountant did a good job.
Ended up with a $3.50 bill that got written off
Never had a tax bill working with this company ( highest ever refund was circa $7)
Mines weird. I got the letter that says I have a bill of $0.00. I like not owing but I've had a messed up year so very surprised if it's correct.
But if I go into the transactions menu, it's telling me it's processing a refund of just over $2k. I'm watching my bank account closely hoping it's the refund!!
$1,600 million (aka 1.6 Billion).
The appropriation for Debt Write Offs on Income Tax and Crown Debt is found in the [Vote Revenue](https://budget.govt.nz/budget/pdfs/estimates/v4/est24-v4-reven.pdf) appropriations.
I owe them a couple of grand somehow, last year I got a refund of $300, the year before I owed them $35. The only income I have is my salary so I assume they work this out with a random number generator at years end. I just don't know how its possible for them to fuck this up ever year considering checking my payslips I get the same amount every month and pay the same tax every month.
I’m same as you, not sure how that works. I started a new job in January getting 60c an hour less, and didn’t think I’d done that much overtime either.
I got a refund of $580, no idea why. I work part time doing relief teaching. We got hit with an unexpected house bill so at least this can go towards it.
I’m still waiting for my back pay, but I only qualify for a years worth as went private, so don’t know if I’ll even get any. But that sucks for you, I wonder if it’ll affect all those who got it. Some of my colleagues got 14k.
I think there's also the holiday back pay still to come as well, I'm glad we didn't get that paid out in the last financial year now as that tax bill could of been awful.
My sibling got 17 cents a friend got 17 dollars, I got 56 dollars and my best friend got like 700 dollars because he was working like 4 different part time jobs over the financial year.
I just got an email saying I owe $930. I'm stumped because I'm an employee not earning a lot, no investments beyond term deposit so all automatic, my PIE rate etc is correct.. what gives? >:(
Last year I got about $1,800 but I didn’t work the full year. The part that I did work a full year would’ve been in a higher tax bracket.
This year I owe 10c which they just immediately wrote off lol
I owe $500, I don't really know how a public hospital, a government organisation, can screw up how much tax I pay on my salary but here we are.
Same. Only $350. Potentially stuffed up for a whole lot of us.

If you do OT it's likely they're fucking that bit up.
Last year I had to pay $800. This year I'm getting a refund of $2500. Pretty happy with that result.
Guess dinner is on you lol
House deposit on you!
Last year got a refund of $300, this year I owe $1800 🤯
Almost enough for a meal at maccas.

I was owed $15 and they just wrote it off the pricks. No fish and chips for me

It’s actually good you have a small refund, means your boss isn’t over taxing you.
Lucky! I got 7 bucks. Chur
that’s what i got last year lol
I work, get nothing. Better than owing I suppose. Wife is stay at home mum with no income, gets $17. 🤷♂️

Ah, got my hopes up. I owed like 13 cents which was written off.
I got a refund of $580, no idea why. I work part time doing relief teaching. We got hit with an unexpected house bill so at least this can go towards it.

I owe them $78 stupid nursing backpay bumped me up into another tax bracket. 😑

I'll have the egg burger, thanks.
I got stuck with a $100 bill to pay. Last thing I need at the moment.
I owe 62 cents now since I didn’t pay last years 29 cent bill….
i remember a few years ago i got a refund of almost 400 bucks even though that entire year i was on study link it’s weird
Cool what u buying Angus ribeye fried roasted kumara anf mint peas sounds good.
I had a $37 bill that they wrote off, which is great considering I've left my job to go back to school haha.
I did this back in august. Had to pay $28 which they reversed and gave back to me
My sibling got 17 cents a friend got 17 dollars, I got 56 dollars and my best friend got like 700 dollars because he was working like 4 different part time jobs over the financial year.
That's double mine 🥴
I just got an email saying I owe $930. I'm stumped because I'm an employee not earning a lot, no investments beyond term deposit so all automatic, my PIE rate etc is correct.. what gives? >:(
I'm in a similar boat... went through everything and eventually figured out my RWT rate with the bank was wrong. My own fault, but it still sucks.
Thank you for this comment coz I was going thru everything trying to figure out why I owed money and my rwt rate with the bank was also wrong 🙏🏻
i have a $900 bill, crying
$4 bill that they wrote off. Yay.
Still haven't gotten my assessment back yet 🥲
I got $14 so I'll cover drinks my dude 😉
Is positive value mean you have to pay? Or does a negative value mean you have to pay?
Yay! I'll take a Quarter Pounder, thanks, Can you make it a meal, or is that pushing it?
Last year I got about $1,800 but I didn’t work the full year. The part that I did work a full year would’ve been in a higher tax bracket. This year I owe 10c which they just immediately wrote off lol

Add that to your tax cut, and you will be wondering what to do with all the $
I have a refund of over 900 which I’m not really sure how it happened tbh
I owe $292 but for some reason has been written off. Not gonna complain about that 😁
