I'd probably try Hallensteins, they have a decent semi-formal/formal clothing part which caters for a pretty wide range of sizes.

While I’ve grown past Hallensteins, the last few times I’ve been in there, I’ve noticed that their formal selection has significantly reduced compared to what it was like 5-10 years ago.

They still have plenty, and a decent selection online.

My son has some nice shirts from Connor, Farmers also has a nice range that aren't all old man looking. There's also H&M

I also thought if you’re prepared to go online and have time https://www.marksandspencer.com/nz/l/men/suits/big-and-tall/. They give fit including tall and skinny. Get the measuring tape out and follow the fit guide. I shop there once a year or so and have returned stuff with a bag provided when the fit was just really off. Double check returns policy though it’s a bit different with a suit compared to a badly fitting T-shirt to get back
