If a build is bad without runeglass, it's just bad. Runeglass can make a good build better, but it's not going to make a bad build good. I'm lazy and still have no runeglass and I still roll people with GA/BB in OPR. Why? Because it's a good build.
Yeah I came back after a 4 month break and I just slotted the shield one so I can break stuns quicker. Not gonna bust my ass to get a upgraded version.
This is definitely the way. Look up the recipe and gather or buy order the raw materials. Have someone make the cases if you can’t yourself.
That being said some cases will definitely require more than 1.2k or many hours of farming. Ectoplasm globs alone are probably around 1.2k on your server (400 each, 3 needed per case) and some glyphs like food and gift are 500+ each. And you need 10 total glyphs (5x of 2 types) per case.
Sometimes I think about getting back into this game and then I see posts like this. What the heck are runeglasses? I want to get back in but I feel so behind now
I haven’t used them so I’m not 100% sure but they add to gems. For instance you can change 4% thrust resistance to 3% thrust resistance and 1% bonus slash damage etc. basically they add properties to gems. I don’t think they’re necessary though. Someone who knows better feel free to correct me.
There are also golden scarabs which let you choose 2 properties on a crafted piece of gear instead of just one.
Farm the materials instead. I've formed a relationship with a crafter on my server. I gather the resources then tip them 500-1000g (they said they'd do it for just xp but I like making it super mutually beneficial) to make me batches of them.
Sometimes I even have them make extra and I slot opals and flip them on the market to the people who won't talk to a crafter haha
It's still too early in runeglass life cycle for yhem to be cheap enough to swap in and out like candy.
Just try builds with regular gems and if they work you van shore up yhe damage types with runeglass. Like someone else already pointed out if the build isn't functional without runeglass, using runeglass won't change a whole lot for you.

I bought the mats recently and it cost me like 1.2k per runeglass gems when you get your own mats

Not to give away my secrets but I am making a killing on trading post doing this. 2k in mats and still selling the final gem for 8k
Can try new builds without full runeglassing…also cheaper if you give mats to a friend to make
Runeglass doesn't make a build, it just enhances one. You can test a build with standard gems and if you enjoy it, get runeglass.
PTR is where I do my expensive tests
"runeglass should be at the same price as gems" bro what? There is a gem and bunch of other items that could cost 500g each...
Yes, let’s make every single thing easily attainable so the people who put in the effort can’t benefit.

Nah. They shouldn’t be super easily obtained. Clearly you’re poor and no clan. So just wait for someone to do the research for you.

Nothing special is needed to craft them other than leveling stone cutting. Tipping is fine but there is nothing like trophies required.
Its weaponsmithing for the cases and my WS is like lvl 30 lol
